By far the worst experience Iβve had at a gymnastics facility. Phoenix Gymnastics Academy does not accommodate children with autism, despite being told otherwise before attending.
From the moment we walked in, the woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive. When I asked about accommodations, she stated they could βmake adjustments depending on the severity of her autism.β I was shocked at both her tone and her choice of words.
This type of language and attitude is not only unprofessional but also discriminatory. Families like mine deserve honesty, respect, and inclusion not judgment at the door.
Please please donβt bring a kiddo of special needs here. By far the worst experience Iβve had especially that The lady upfront was rude as I entered the building and proceeded to say they can accommodate depending on the βSEVERITY OF HER AUTISM!!β I was in shock with her lack of words. It was just heartbreaking and unacceptable for her to say that with my baby right there. My heart broke.

Previously Front desk staff was very helpful.
From last couple of weeks, I am seeing different lady in front desk. She is not helpful at all on scheduling make-ups and donβt listen the concerns. Keep on talking about policy and not polite at all.

I use to go here as a little girl and I just signed my daughter up! HOW COOL IS THAT. We are doing the parent and Tot class with Jodi she is just the bestteacher. She really cares about the children and helps me redirect my toddler as well as being patient.
Advice for moms doing the parent and tot class. You are teaching your kid how to do gymnastics alongside the coach. You are doing a majority of the hands-on interaction, but the teacher is there to help guide you. Make sure to bring a water bottle because some days it is tough redirecting and possibly running after your toddler. During this class it seems like there is no other classes going on just the little kids in the gym. Which I love. All the other moms are super understanding and have such an awesome attitude. Make sure to be uncomfortable clothes that you can move around in. You are in a group with other parents so it's super easy to follow along.

My daughter has been to many gyms in the US and this gym is absolutely amazingβ¦The coaches are all positive and gave great training to my daughter, a level 6. The other girls at the gym were welcoming and positive; that starts from the top. I couldnβt be more impressed with the equipment and efficiency that I saw here. What an amazing gym the people of Phoenix have for their competitive gymnastics.

The kids LOVE it here, and have for years! The coaches are all friendly, kind & knowledgeable, the gym has always felt safe and clean.
As the grownup watching the kids' classes though, I hate the layout for adults. Hate it. It's not enough space. And what little space they have is never set up smartly. The first floor has no seating, even though there is easily room for a dozen chairs along the dance studio & gym walls, they've opted to make this standing room only. Their built-in front desk needs to be 3' shorter down the length of the room, they need to move the 2' dedicated to lost and found to the upstairs viewing area near the door to the gym which is dead space, and scrap their sale clothing racks in favor of something space saving like shallow wall hooks on the former lost & found wall, near the entrance windows. The 4-way racks they have today are at best right in the middle (in the way) and at worst +/- eye/head level for most of their students. Invariably, at least two kids end up running *through* the clothing. The upstairs viewing area needs at least 2 dozen more chairs. And the reason I have all this and more outlined out is because all I can do is dream of being more comfortable, 1 hour a week at a time, for the last 4 years of my life. I would fix this for free if they'd let me.

I love this place!
My daughter has been going here for just over a year now, it has helped her with not being so clumsy! My daughter is 5 and has shown a great improvement of strength and confidence since starting here! And she's an only child so this is awesome for her to be around other kids her age! Cheryl an Jodi at the front desk are extremely sweet and helpful! Also each coach my daughter has had have been sooo amazing! 1st starting out she was with Ms Kennedy & Ms Gracie, and now she is with Ms Robyn! My daughter always comes home so excited and proud of herself, I think the coaches do such an awesome job building the kids up and making them believe in themselves! Absolutely love this place and would recommend it!

My daughter has shown growth in her mechanics! Love this place
Update it has now been a year and though my daughter has shown growth, the class size keeps her with basic mechanics. When Mr. M is her instructor and actually has a structure which the others lack all the students do great.
Also maybe actually get to know the students to not partner them with kids who are just starting. Seems to happen a lot, even though my daughter is more advanced when this happens my daughter can be seen yawning and not interested

Went today to see about A gymnastics summer camp for my daughter they didnβt offer me a tour didnβt tell me nothing about their gymnastic summer camp or care to answer any questions I might have all they did was just hand me a sheet of paper and just sat behind the desk not once did they offered to show me or my daughter around or give us a tour and on The brochure they are asking for a $50 deposit and at least $300 and something dollars a week!!! Youβre asking and having these kind of prices and not once could anyone get up from behind the counter and show me and my daughter a tour and we are coming to look at your facility and spend money!!!
Iβm sorry not worth my money all we did was walk in and walk out with a sheet of paper and if this is HIw your treatment is for someone coming to look at your facility to spend money on day one how would it be if I was spending money!!?
I am answering back on my review because I cannot add an added response after I was contacted by your facility after I wrote my review but the front desk had two women there behind the front desk so there was more than just one person at the desk and at the time neither one was on the phone!
You said you wanted to help with frustration which there isnβt any Iβm just used to having better customer service and treatment from anywhere I am going concerning my child and where I spend my money!!
Customer service and first impressions speaks volumes!!!
Your staff wasnβt busy and wasnβt taking any calls and when I came in there was only three children that were inside the facility at the time and only two coaches around them!!
So to this conclusion the atmosphere at this facility and customer service was nonexistent!

I had a tough time during the parent tot class and when I told the instructor she laughed at me. At the end of the class I was crying and trying to leave and told the teacher I had had a hard time, she turned around and laughed and announced to everyone βwe all had to go through it!!β such an embarrassing experience.
I donβt think laughing at anybody is an appropriate response at all. If it is so easy to laugh at a struggling parent, how do they treat their students when parents arenβt allowed to supervise or be near?
I was going to do the trial class with them again with a different instructor but when calling back they wouldnβt schedule me again and told me to call back later. Poor customer service.

Kudos to PGA, thank you for keeping our kids active and healthy during this this crazy time! Weβve been going to PGA for little over a year now and have had a great experience! The front desk ladies are very kind and helpful with scheduling and answering my questions to the best ability. My kids love going to gymnastics learning from their coaches, and I have recommended this place to all our friends!

My daughter has been coming to PGA for almost a year and I can say she does enjoy it she started off as a tumble bug with coach jodi and Ellen which I absolutely loved. And now she is an acro tot with Robyn and Randi who are excellent coaches as well. Yes the parking does suck but you can park on the outside street and there are only 6 chairs downstairs which can suck if your children are in tumble bugs or acro tots. Other than that I love PGA and recommend them to anyone who's child is curious to try gymnastics

Sometimes felt like the activities moved a little too fast for the younger children. Staff was supportive. I also wonder about cleanliness, as this is such a huge facility. How does it get cleaned between groups of children? How does that big vat of foam blocks get cleaned? Seems like it may be a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses.

I am so grateful for the coaches at PGA! I am so impressed with not only their expertise of teaching gymnastics, but the life and psychological skills my 8 year old daughter is learning. Thank you PGA coaches for teaching all my 3 kids! I continue to be impressed and thankful after all these years. This is why I tell everyone PGA is the best.

I really like my daughters coaches but I have a very big big disappointment with the one working in the front desk and her name is Susan. This employee is very rude and disrespectful. I was trying to schedule a make up class for my daughter but then she said it expires in 7 weeks which honestly I am not aware of and nobody told me that it expires. To my surprise when I ask her what do I do with that since I was not aware of it and then she responded that it doesn't really matter because "everybody says that" I was like wow! Even when I was still talking to her trying to explain my side with a loud voice she said are you going to schedule or what? Then she added that if nobody told me about the policy now I know already. What a rude human being in my 2 years in this school I have never had anyone talk to me like this before. To the owner of PGA I hope you will take this seriously this kind of employee doesn't deserve nor fit with where she is working. I wonder how many parents are annoyed with her every time they talk to this lady.

Fantastic gym! Tons of equipment, very well maintained. I have 2 kids in classes here and love it. The employees are all very professional, helpful, and patient. (Just wish there was a 3-4 year-old dance class in the mornings and more parking during the busy afternoon classes)

Since day one my daughter and I have been happy with the gymnastics program here at Phoenix Gymnastics & Dance Academy. The prices are extremely reasonable and I love the fact that they offer one free trial class to begin with. The entire staff are always helpful and friendly, and the gym is beautiful. Always kept very nice, neat, and organized. I would definitely recommend this place 100%.

I only give this academy 2 stars because some of the teachers really care and interact with the kids well. Other than that, the older women who works the front desk is an absolute nightmare! Her attitude is disgusting and you can tell customer service is NOT her goal! I would not recommend this gymnatics academy. There are much better places to send your child and spend your money.
Also, there just isnt enough seating to watch your child. They claim its first come first serve but you can get to the academy 30 mins early and they'll be women saving seats for people who dont show up until an hour later. Ridiculous. The coaches dont communicate what the student needs to work on to advance. It seems as if they'll just take your money as long as the can without the care of moving your child along with goals in gymnastics.

Im to say the least dissapointed. My daughter got bored quikly because the class just did the same thing over and over. My daughter is 10 and there were younger kids on her team each session so the coaches seem to focus more on the younger kids because they have more trouble doing the flips etc. Which i get but my daughter wasnt learning much. The couches never come out to communicate with the parents and everything is just up in the air. You dont know if your child is advancing etc. Its a bummer because i really wanted this place to work but i have to find a gym with more structure and with more attentive coaches.

I love everything about this place! I love the encouraging coaches who are always helping the kids advance and I love that each coach has only a handful of kids! Gives them the opportunity to get better and be safe! I drive 38 miles to get here every week because it's worth it! The only time there is high traffic crowd is when one class is leaving and the other class is coming in. π
