I have been to Planet Fitness locations in Arizona, Massachusetts, and New York and this is by far my favorite location. It’s clean, it has all the machines, nothing is old or broken, it’s a big space, and it’s not too crowded.

I’ve been a member of this gym for about two years. I’ve always been impressed with most of the staff, the cleanliness and the variety of machines. the other day I experience something no one should have to as a paying customer. I have asked several times when I go in there, the music is so loud that my headphones I have to crank them up so high that it hurting my eardrums. I’ve asked them to turn it down and typically in the past, this was handled respectively, and they did turn it down. A new employee who would not give me his name. I said can you please turn down the music a little bit? He was rude disrespectful when I asked him to turn it down. They said they couldn’t do that something bogus about being locked out of the computer I’ve never had that issue ever before. they’ve always done it before. Then I said well I can’t even hear my headphones because it’s so loud and he laughed at me and he said this is a gym. It’s noisy And I said this is unacceptable. You’re being rude disrespectful. It’s not asking that much to turn the music down he just laughed at me. This person should be fired.
You should have some kind of standards on keeping the music a little bit lower 95% of the people in there have headphones on we don’t need the music so loud that we have to crank up our headphones or earbuds so loud that they hurt our eardrums this is not acceptable and especially this employee. It was rude. Disrespectful laughed at me For asking the question. And then he refused to give his name believe me I will be contacting that general manager there, and I will go to corporate on this.

I honestly hesitated to write this review—because let’s face it, when a place starts getting a lot of well-deserved praise, it usually means it gets busier. But it wouldn’t be right to keep this gem to myself. This Planet Fitness location is truly something special.

We moved to Mesa from Portland almost a year ago, and after trying out several PF locations around the valley, I can say without a doubt that this one on Alma School in Chandler is the best. Hands down.

The words that come to mind are: welcoming, clean, convenient, and well-equipped. The facility is always spotless (one of the managers is literally vacuuming right now), the equipment is in great condition, and I’ve never had trouble finding what I need for my workouts.

But what really sets this place apart is the staff. Ryan, Brogan, Jeff, Jade—you all are incredible. There are others that are on that list too, I just don’t know them by name yet. Every time we walk in, we’re greeted by name and with a smile. That kind of genuine, consistent welcome makes a big difference. It gives the place a real sense of community and makes you feel like you belong—not just like a membership number.

Even the members here are great. I’ve had more than one person offer helpful advice about lifting form or spotting technique. It’s such a rare and refreshing thing to find a gym where the people aren’t just friendly, but supportive.

If you’re looking for a gym that’s more than just a place to work out—somewhere that feels like part of your routine and your community—I’d recommend this Planet Fitness location without hesitation. 10/10.

The staff at this gym is rude especially the gentleman that answers the phone . My daughter has been trying to cancel her membership and cannot go in the mornings to speak in person to a manager because of school. They make it incredibly difficult considering my daughter was harassed here. Why bother giving an email address to cancel if you're insistent on providing inaccurate info. Don't recommend this place

From the staff at the front greeting us, the cleanliness of everything and the environment. We stopped in for about an hour and a half for a quick night workout. When we got done, we went to shower in the locker rooms. The lady was cleaning the bathroom and showers and pointed me right to one she just cleaned and recommended that one while she cleans the others since it was just done! She was cleaning the rest of the locker room even when I got out of the shower and was getting ready to leave. The place was beautiful. Smelled good, no gym mustiness. The mirrors were even clean. Showers were huge with the attach spot to get dressed. We had a great experience here.

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness now for 1.5 years. What I like about this location is how judgement-free it is, how clean it is, and how close to home it is. All the workout machines are nicely laid out, and the staff is always able to assist if you have a question. I’ve been going to this location for a year now after moving back from Ohio. Staff is good, Skylar is good as I have been using her for 3 months now since she started and have seen a difference in not only my workouts but the benefits from workouts as well. Management is good at notifying if any changes are upcoming. I haven’t had one issue with this location and I’m there almost everyday besides the weekends.

Very spacious, can be busy. It's a nice gym, nothing too fancy, all the basics needed and tons of room for it all. Not as clean and the trainers don't seem as engaged with patrons as they were at the McQueen location, however I like being left alone and the amount of available space more than makes up for a little dust bunny. Coming around 4-7pm, expect to wait for specific weight machines.

I had an extremely disturbing experience at Planet Fitness on Alma School and Elliot in Chandler on the morning of May 13, 2024, around 5:45 to 6:00 am. I walked into the locker room and, to my dismay, witnessed an employee, whom I previously worked with, engaging in highly inappropriate and unsanitary behavior at the sink area. This employee (Jeff), without noticing my presence, was using the sink countertop in a manner that compromised the hygiene of the facility. His shorts were down, and he was WIPING HIS BARE BUTT on the countertop area in front of the sinks When confronted, the response I received was dismissive and unapologetic (It would be best if I stayed in my lane and mind my own business).
I am deeply concerned about the cleanliness standards and staff conduct at this location. As someone who values hygiene, especially in a public gym setting, this incident has left me traumatized and questioning the overall sanitation practices here. I have decided to seek out other gym options as a result of this experience. I believe potential patrons deserve to be aware of these issues to make informed decisions about their gym choice.

‼️Membership Cancellation Joke‼️
I’ve had 3 Planet Fitness memberships in my life and EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to cancel it, they give me all the “info” to cancel and even confirmation of cancellation & low and behold, I still end up getting charged and have to ring them up again to have them do their jobs of clicking a couple buttons to actually cancel my membership. Nothing but an another money hungry corporation that encourages their employees to continuously charge customers after cancellation and talks about no judgement but yet front desk workers give the dirtiest looks first thing in the morning. I’ve been traveling in a loop for three years following the sun, and every winter I find myself excited to get back to what should be the standard of planet fitness’ every where. In my travels the past three years and 20 some odd states, Alma school planet fitness remains top 3 best of ALL locations nationwide. I’ve told the manager this as well. Here is an in depth review. For the gym floor itself, always clean and incredibly spacious. One of the most spacious layouts in the entire valley. Equipment galore. Notable differences in equipment are those specialty back machines, and they have prone leg curl here. And even if I’m there at rush hour, I can typically always find somewhere to fit in. I try to be around on the off hours because I find having so much space in a hug gym with barely anyone is very comforting for some reason. For The staff, always so incredibly kind. No matter what shift morning or night, all the employees are just so nice. Other PF have some employees that are so sassy and overly policy oriented with no case by case discretion. This planet fitness is so different in that matter, which creates a safe and non hostile environment. The showers are always clean, with the shower/changing area duo (a favorite bathroom layout of mine), and also benches in each shower which is IMO vital. Also TWO soap holder shelf’s in the showers, most PF only have one small tiny white tray if you’re lucky, others don’t even have soap holders. The curtains on the showers fully cover the entry to the shower, which is also important but not all PF have good curtains. The sinks have temperature control which is nice for when I just want to wash my face and not my whole body. there are paper towels in locker rooms, which also not every PF has. I think paper towels are more sanitary than the hand dryers, and paper towels allow me to clean up spills I make. I don’t think I’m forgetting anything. Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this location even if I looked for something bad couldn’t find it. So rare to find such a top notch PF.

I love the idea that you can bring a guest every time you come with a black card membership.
As a pioneer in Fitness clubs and Personal Training business, now that I'm older,I enjoy a High Intensity Training session, and then take a Hydro Massage or RedLight therapy session before heading home. The gym is kept very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the cost is very reasonable for all that you get.
I would recommend Planet Fitness to anyone looking for a great club to workout and enjoy all the amenities without the intimidation of some of the larger overcrowded gyms.

This is the best location I’ve been to. Alex (not her full name but don’t dare call her that) is one of the reasons I felt so comfortable immediately. The amenities are much better than the other locations I’ve been to including the much more private showers. The lockers in the black card spa have USB ports so you can charge your phone while you relax and then it’s charged when you hit the weights. It’s al and being cleaned. I know David, Jesse, Joshua,Alex, Butch and all the others really care about their job. You guys rock at this location. Other PF’s take note.

PF gets a ton of grief from the mainstream gym folk but the reality is that it works just fine for most people. It's clean and has a large amount of cardio and machines. Yes loose weights are limited and it's Smith only for bigger weight exercises. For the price it is well worth it unless you are moving significant weight.

As far as PF gyms go, it was nice. I went around 8:30am, it wasn't too crowded. My only complaint, is that PF's don't stock free barbell exercises, they're all smith machines. Also, as someone who travels a lot (and doesn't have a PF near home), more options for day passes would be ideal and make PF my first option whenever looking for an out of town gym.

1-5 gym, employees are lazy, Gym is not clean. Bathrooms always smell like chemicals.

I like the gym, but I don't know why they don't offer ab rollers. Every other Planet Fitness in other cities and states offer them, but I can not get a good answer. I've spoken to corporate, which, they stated they should have them. You can purchase Planet Fitness ab rollers from Ross for $5 dollars, so why doesn't this planet fitness have them, if you can not bring in your own ab rollers. Its supposed to be judge free, so why are there no AB ROLLERS? I 've asked several people and managers, but no real answer was given. What is the problem with having some in stock? Inventory? Cost? No lend out structure in place? Couldn't you sign them out with a ID for inventory control or cost? Thanks.
