I’m currently siting outside AGAIN when no one is here to open the gym. It’s his is the third time in a month that I’ve come here on a Saturday or Sunday and no one is here to open. Actually think I’ll be cancelling because of this constant issue. I don’t understand if you’re not going to have any 24 hour locations around then why wouldn’t you be open on time. The weekend opener guy is not only late but also rude. Someone was waiting “too close” to him as we’re all outside waiting and he could have asked nicely but instead told the guy to “get back!” And then went on to say he couldn’t risk him seeing the code to get the key. (If he would go in even two min. Earlier than 5am , no one would be hovering is the irony)Very frustrating.
I will say the guy who works overnights during the week is very nice though.

The two women @ night have gone out of their way to ameliorate my time in this gym.

Alexis in particular always seems to be there with an answer or a laugh that perks me up for what I do not want to do...sling iron like Arnold.

They clean EVERYTHING. They're courteous and kind to EVERYONE. Some folks may feel a little anxiety going into a gym for the first time. Please know that if you're thinking about getting fit, you find the gym for you. You'll get nothing, but uplifting vibes on your journey to becoming another "just another Chandler athlete."

The front guy was not so nice. Planet Fitness is usually really good at being nice and friendly. This particular staff treated me like I was stupid and that he had some other place to be other than working. If you want a great location, I would go to the one in tempe, they're always super nice and super friendly and treat you like a human being.

I was visiting this gym for 2 days in a row for work reasons. I travel a lot and without a doubt the staff is the friendliest I have ever seen. They helped me with the spa black card, resolved my doubts and always f They were courteous to me, they have a great staff with you.

Dear Owner/Franchisee, I really know this place. For years, it has been my gym because of how close my home is to it. I’m usually here at least 6 times a week.

I’m not venting here. Instead, I’m taking time to quickly share 2 points in the hopes of you making positive change which helps all.

1. Never have I known a gym to take longer on equipment repairs. This pec deck today is the latest example. You have just 2 of these here and it has been broken for weeks.

Please don’t claim this is an isolated incident. Just before this, 1 of 2 abs machines was down for weeks. Such has been the pattern here for years.

Members of your staff get frustrated because they hear all complaints, but you give them no power to get things done quicker.

Money is not the issue. A former manager told me how lucrative this gym is. Truth be told, multiple staffers have long supported me in writing such a piece.

In closing on your staff, I’ve enjoyed time with many of these people over the years. It’s a shame the morale hasn’t been better to minimize employee turnover.

The staff at this location are so kind and hardworking. I joined over a year ago and can say the gym and locker room are always immaculate. I never have to wait for a machine—tons of space and lots of options from free weights to cardio, plus plyo and stretch area. My son and I work out here in the early morning hours and the staff have always been so kind to us. Never thought I would be addressing a gym that I have ABSOLUTELY loved until yesterday, Sunday morning approximately 10:30 ish am. Not being rude here, but a shorter, heavy man with short, dark hair and young lady were “ working “ front desk. Let me say this.. during the week at this location I have NEVER been greeted without a sincere smile and use of my first name! Skylar, honey, you ROCK!!!! Today, sadly, makes me want to find a different gym membership..no hello, no good morning.. no NOTHING! Except from young gal, who I could not even understand what she was saying because she spoke so fast… here’s how it went… “Are you here to tan?” Me..”No”.. her.. “ Well, have to inform you of the new rules” me.. Ok.. Her.. So,no blah blah blah blah.. me, I’m sorry what? Her.. blah blah blah.. me.. I’m sorry what? Her.. sign here.. me.. ok.. then after a road closure, detour of 30 minutes ( not their fault) I am told the TBE( red light therapy is down for “awhile “, wow.. why is that not on your webpage.. her.. no clue.. me.. wish I knew that beforehand.. her. I guess so.. heavy set man almost runs me over in the doorway as he says to me “ Well, excuse us!” .. wow😟 beyond sad..oh and asked to buy a bottle of WATER.. guess what??? They were OUT! I love the recent improvement to the club, the new perks with the black card and the newer equipment. I have been to other locations and was very happy when I saw that my local Planet Fitness got a revamp. The staff and the trainer on site are always helpful, friendly and supportive of my goals. I feel safe in this environment and it is truly a no judgement zone. This is the first time I’ve ever felt confident and safe in the gym and It has given me the push to keep going. They've been out of body wash for a week, and their water was just shut off. How does your water get shut off with no warning 🤔?The speed at which these things are corrected, will determine if I change my rating.

Update (lowered to 1 star): Now this PF center is shut down for renovations. My reaction when I went inside was, "It would have been nice to get a little warning." The staff's reaction was, "well the sign has been on the door (small 8x11 sign) for about a week, and we sent all our members an email."

Please tell me who has time to check their email with all the companies blasting you with junk email? And really, an 8x11 sign? It looked like a regular store hours sign. What ever happened to verbal communication these days? All the staff does is stand there and scan your app to let you in. They barely say two words. Hi & thank you after they scan.

The saying really is true. It is the cheapest gym around...you get what you pay for 🤷‍♂️

Planet Fitness Downtown Chandler with hopes for a clean and fun gym experience. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The locker rooms and showers were disgustingly dirty, with grime and filth in every corner. It's clear that cleanliness is not a priority here.

Adding to the frustration, the staff seemed more interested in scrolling through their phones than actually attending to the needs of the gym members. Instead of ensuring a pleasant environment, they were glued to their screens, oblivious to the mess and chaos around them.

Overall, my experience at Planet Fitness was far from satisfactory. I expected better hygiene standards and attentive staff.

I'm a Black Card member here as a snowbird. Went to this PF location for the first week. I like to use the hydro massages each day after my workout. I used it once all week because the bed and lounge were broken every other day. One of the employees even told me they're broken a lot. The bathroom was not the cleanest either. I switched to the PF in Gilbert and will continue there even though it's further away from my condo.

My husband and I were looking for a new gym to join and we are so happy we’ve found Planet Fitness! We had a positive experience from the moment we walked in the door. Ty gave us a tour and answered all of our questions in great detail. After signing up, he even remembered that I had mentioned wanting to work with a personal trainer. Ty asked their trainer to come over and meet with me so I could get any other questions I had answered and feel comfortable with what a session would look like. Every employee I’ve interacted with has been polite and always makes me feel welcome. The gym equipment is all updated and always clean and well taken care of. The locker rooms are also always clean and very useful for storing extra things during a workout. I highly recommend joining this gym!

I probably won’t be coming back to this one. Reasons: first for my fiancé. He went in to use bathroom before workout and saw only 1 stall for the men. How wild is it yall only have 1 stall for men when it’s mostly men going to the gym and your capacity is supposed to hold hundreds yet only 1 stall? It’s unreasonable. He had to leave and walk to winco to use the bathroom! Now for my side. On the women’s locker room side the floors were SLIMEY yes SLIMEY not sticky but squishy almost made me gag and the floors weren’t even wet so they are juts gross. As a professional house cleaner, the cleanliness of the locker rooms was a disgrace to all cleaners. Also no hot water out of sinks. How are you supposed to wash your hands in accordance with the CDC? Now for the layout. This gym is so stinking cramped and packed in with MAYBE one of the machines you’re looking for, but not two. Everything the gym offers can be seen from the front door, which is never a good sign. When I walk into a really nice planet fitness, there are sections I can’t even see when first walking in. Not this one. Lastly, the staff glared at me which was the only acknowledgment I got. No hi no smiles nothing. This has to be top 3 worst planet fitnesses in phx metro.

Planet fitness has a great workout atmosphere. Lots of equipment choices. Even when it is very busy, you can always count on getting one of the popular cardio related equipments i.e. elliptical trainer, treadmill etc. The equipments are mostly well-maintained. One exception is the rowing machine. They only have two of these and one of them is frequently down for repairs. The front desk are very nice and approachable.
The only complaint I have with Planet fitness is their operating hours on weekends. They close at 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday!!
They should consider extending it further on those days.

I like that they are open, but they don't stress enough with people working out to clean their machines when finished. Lots of people use equipment and then walk away. I spoke with the manager about it, but nothing has changed. Also, with the facility being shut down for months, they didn't pro-rate their yearly maintenance fee, so I got charged the entire amount, but the equipment went unused for many months. The staff is friendly and always greets you when you check in and when you leave. Lastly, some of the machines aren't working correctly and have pointed them out to staff, but nothing gets fixed timely.
