I asked to put my membership on hold for the 6 month program, and they still charged me the annual $50 fee. No one told me that this would be the case or I would have just canceled everything. I called and spoke with Josh, the manager, and he told me this is the way it is and I should have read the contract.
Who reads the entire contract? Thanks Planet Fitness, the 50 bucks you stole from me, will bring you negative reviews on as many platforms that I can find. Hopefully this will help others that have this same situation

I love the layout of the gym. Lots of different machines for walking running and working out. The back area to the right had the newer workout gym but I have one problem I have spoken to management and sent an email (no email reply) about the staff not keeping the whole gym clean. My workout area is the back area and I see dust bunnies, roller foam pieces, small rocks, and even torn paper towels. What floored me the most, a staff member mopped the area but the same items were still on the floor. How about using the backpack vacuum? Also, what are your staff members doing at 0100 in the morning? Why doesn't the closing team perform a full gym vacuum?

Good thing I bring my own mat so I don't have to do my workout routine on the dirty floor.....

I came back after 5 months n plus and there are big changes. Thank you for listening to my concerns and acting on them. Fyi, others said something and the Manager said it too. Glad to by back!

I have been going to this establishment for several years and I have always enjoyed my time there until today. While walking in, I got hit with a $20 late fee which I feel was exorbitant, but I have not had a late previous late fee with them or anyone else in decades. I never received an email saying I was about to be late, nor when I showed up at the club the day before and the day before that nobody ever said anything. The female that I discussed this was very nice, but could not explain why all of a sudden, I was getting hit with this charge. The only good news is with Black Friday coming up I am looking forward to seeing what EOS offers and moving on as I prefer to work with an establishment that does not 1.) rip me off and 2.) communicates if there is a potential issue. Planet Fitness Review – 2.5 Stars

So here’s the deal. For the second week in a row, nobody showed up to open the gym on time. Now ordinarily, that might not sound like the end of the world… but when you’re in your 50s, hopped up on enough pre-workout to power an entire infantry unit, and ready to squat like your life depends on it — yeah, it’s a big deal. My heart’s practically doing burpees in the parking lot waiting for someone with a key.

I get it, though. They probably have some young kids opening up, and hey, I was young once too. But still… caffeine + no gym = a dangerous combination.

Now, on the bright side:
• It’s cheap.
• It’s never too busy (unlike EOS, where it feels like you need a FastPass just to touch a dumbbell).
• Machines are always open once you’re inside.

But the catch? If you’re an early morning grinder, you’ve got a 50/50 shot the place will actually open on time. It’s basically fitness roulette.

So yeah, I’ll give Planet Fitness 2.5 stars out of 5. Cheap, empty, and plenty of machines — but only if someone actually shows up to unlock the doors.

Unreal!!

I have been a Planet Fitness customer for nearly a decade. The gym I went to today was the cleanest well kept one I have ever been.

It is laid out well and plenty of equipment to use and then some.

The bathroom was spotless and again laid out beautifully.

Lastly and what made it all the better is the staff. I was greeted by a warm happy face and her name is Armani!!

Hayden also was a great help with all my gym needs! Leo was great as well!!

I received a new CC from my bank, updated it online, and was denied entry because their online environment does not sync with their store according to the employee. I never bring my wallet to the gym for obvious reasons. I asked for a manager and one was not available. I asked to cancel my membership and was told I needed to come back when a manager was available. I look online to complain to corporate and only found an employee complaint page plus a bunch of BBB reviews saying PF appears to be fraudulent entity. This is so frustrating as I have been going here for years and never had a problem. Wondering if they are under new management. I will go back today and cancel. They have lost a member for life. I will drive an extra 5 minutes and will be sure to tell all of my family and friends to beware.

I was dreading getting back into working out at a gym but I had a great experience. The employees are friendly and approachable, I had absolutely no problem finding available machines, they were clean and well maintained, and even had QR codes I could scan to learn how to use each machine (as an introvert, I appreciate this). The locker room offers lots of *clean* amenities for changing clothes in privacy, showering, or just washing hands. I'm quite impressed this is all available for such an affordable price. I enjoyed my workout and look forward to going back.

Friendly Staff and accessible equipment and spa for every health and exercise need. I think people feel at home at PF and not pressured to perform. Other clubs can be very superficial and not genuinely interested in the overall good health of every member. Some clubs attract show- offs and seem to judge others. At planet fitness everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace find your best plan and do what works for you. The trainers at all the clubs are great and helpful and get you going on the right track to good health and a good workout routine. Making the effort to have clubs that are affordable makes PF , I think, one of the most diverse and multi populated clubs. I see veterans, disabled persons and seniors achieve their fitness goals.

1) I realize there has been a lot of negative news about PF, but most of it is not a real reflection of the PF mission and the hundreds of clubs and members it serves.
2) My advice to Corporate Planet Fitness, as a member since 2017, stick to your mission --- remember the "be free" motto and now the "thumbs up." When companies need to reevaluate, always start with "why are here?"
What was our original mission and goal? We wanted as many people to have access to good health and fitness through exercise and a positive accepting environment to achieve their fitness goals. No other company can achieve your mission. If you didn't exist who would lose the benefits of your mission. Perhaps, inflation may raise our cost a little, but PF mission remains and it has worked. PF still offers the most affordable and accessible access to fitness across the country.
3) I was a previous member of LA fitness, Anytime Fitness, but PF works best.The mission and the authentic reason and purpose you exist is what generates both profits and consumer loyalty. Keep the "mission" at the forefront-- bury the hatchet forgive each other board and CEOs and learn from your emeritus CEOs and let the love all of you have for PF's Mission be the driving force. PF has made many of you tremendous profits so no one is poor. Let that prosperity and your blessings let you help PF and it's mission help others less fortunate to equal, affordable access to good health and fitness. George Schultz still gives advice to Starbucks because he cares about the company. Do what you love and the money follows.

4) Cultural and Governmental pressures try to make Corporations change their unique mission to pacify some trend or fleeting controversy. Forget that and make sure members respect the mission of PF and other members. The design of unisex changing, shower areas, lockers, along with men and women areas gives all access. Google had a mission once to "do no evil" sometimes leaving the simple basics of your original mission can lead to corporation demise--even if it's the government trying to change your mission and purpose to control outcomes, corporations who are obeying the laws (in America the Constitution) should not be swayed by every wind of Governmental side agendas and trends. This why PF Mission is important.

5) Any member who is inappropriately infringing on the privacy or safety of other members or trying to break the locker room area PF rules should be removed as a member. Binary non binary can access unisex facilities within PF. It can be written on PF membership document. Just like companies have the right to tell members not to enter with weapons, they can also stipulate how the use of locker shower bathroom areas can be used. Unisex facilities meet this criteria.

6) PF Mission and Be Free and Thumbs Up.

Let me squash that assumption, people. This gym is not only got lots of room, it's a dream for those of us who just want to work out and go home. Tons of machines, not too many people, and clean, clean, clean.

I've trained in gyms all over the place, including Equinox in LA and Dallas. Let me just say that you totally get your money's worth at PF. I mean, seriously...the price and the quality! Total bargain for a great gym.

Boycotting this company until they change their policy allowing guests to self-identify their sex and use the locker room of their choice. It’s an okay gym not my favorite but better than most. I like that they have paper towels in the locker room, I like that the sink water gets warm, and I like the layout of equipment in the general area. I just wouldn’t want to shower here because there’s only one changing room across the showers, and one all the way across the locker room. Good place to work out if your're looking for fairly basic gym equipment. Mostly Nautilus and Smith Machines with dumbbells topping out at 75lbs. The employees at this location do an excellent job keeping the grounds clean and sanitized, even when some members don't. Staff is helpful though at times a little aloof. Price is just right too. 4pm - 6pm on weekdays seem to be the busiest time.

Updating 6/6/23 - things seem to be taking a dip in recent months. Turnover appears to still be an issue. The machines are starting to see more wear and tear. Broken equipment is taking much longer to fix. Still enjoy coming here, but might be looking elsewhere.

This is a great place and very good alternative to some gyms at four times the price. The gym I've been going to for so long, sentence inception in Arizona had become overcrowded and a bit rundown from what it used to be. A little over a year ago I decided to get a membership here since it was the closest to my house. I had some experience in the gym but hadn’t been in a while. I would recommend this location to anyone. Everything is kept clean and organized. The staff is friendly and willing to help you with anything you need. I went a few times for help with how to do specific exercises and they were more than willing to talk me through. The culture of this club is really easy going, people are usually fine with letting you work in or asking how many sets they have left. Just like any other fitness club you actually have go there to see results but if you’re choosing between down the street and this one, roll with Planet. If you’re trying to get swol or slim, this is the spot.

Out of all the gyms in maricopa county this is by far the most cleanest and most friendly out of all the Planet Fitness gym’s. Rhonda is a manger there and she is the friendliest person you’d ever want to meet. Robert is a true gentleman and is a very nice young man. Natalie who works in the morning is such an amazing young lady and she is so impresssive. The staff at Planet Fitness makes you feel like family when you go to workout in this gym.
