Came here about 6 times total. 2 different occasions someone walked up to me to ask to use the machine I was using. Never have I ever witnessed such bad gym etiquette. Complained to a female that granted me a month free. Then Jerome brown cancels me completely since I complained revoking my free month. I used to really enjoy working out here. I even upgraded to the Black Card! Id rather drive to EOS! There’s always something not working. On days when I really need the massage chairs or hydro massager, they’re usually out of order. Why pay for a Black Card if the perks aren’t available? 🤷🏽‍♀️

We love Planet Fitness! The hydro massage chairs are such a relaxing treat after we work out!!! There are plenty of machines- even if it is busy, we can easily find an open machine. We like the 24 hour availability Mon-Friday. We highly recommend it!

I have called in twice now to change my home gym and the employees straight up lied about doing it because the 3rd time I called in he said all of a sudden I can't do it until after the billing cycle.

I mean great gym guys, love it and will continue to use my membership. But your employees are straight up lying to customers and they do not know your rules and regulations, membership details. There is a large gap here.

You just can't go wrong with a Planet Fitness membership. I don't know why, but I've been to other gyms, and it's just not the same experience or feeling after a workout. The staff at every Planet Fitness gym I've been to are either good actors or the truly like their job, and they show it by showing every customer the respect and care with a positive attitude that gives you confidence and makes you want to come back, or should I say, makes you feel you can't wait to have another workout session. 😁

Runners beware!!! They switched to the TERRIBLE matrix tredmills. I'll have to switch gyms now. If you didn't know, matrix tredmills are just awful on your body. We work out here during the winter. The gym and locker rooms are clean, showers work well, machines are maintained and the staff is generally friendly.
This particular PF kinda suffers from their own success. The gym is almost always busier than most patrons would like. That is what happens when you manage a modern gym so well.
Our one picky point is applicable to ALL gyms. Machine sitters.
People, do your set, and move on. Don't spend 20 minutes occupying one apparatus while other wait, and you could be doing yourself more good on a different machine addressing other muscles.
You can have the soapbox back now....

I recently moved to Maricopa and I’ve traveled all over coast to coast and lift at the planet fitness across the country never in my life have i received this level of disrespectful treatment, i brought the counter attendant ( dyed blonde curly hair with so many facial piercings i lost count) told her her customers are destroying equipment and handed her two single handed pulley handles that had been knotted so terribly they were now dangerous and unusable! She goes what do you want me to do about it I’m only one person, while 2 other workers were cleaning .. I’m sorry it’s your job to maintain equipment and i don’t know do your job !! If you are aware people are damaging equipment and making it unsafe TAKE AWAY THEIR MEMBERSHIP!! Absolutely unacceptable

Extremely racist, unorganized and discriminatory behavior from staff. ETHAN, was the “representative” I spoke with and when asked why there was no manager on site he became very hostile and began raising his voice. He asked me repeatedly what my issue was and when I told him I didn’t want to discuss this with him but with upper management he spoke over me and hung up. I really hope the calls are recorded so that management can do better. This is extremely upsetting as this is a entity promoting “judgment free zone” becomes such a hostile place beginning with employees, and them not taking serious when a 50 YEAR OLD MAN is harassing and recording a minor. Hope to hear back from actual management soon.

The staff is friendly and the people are helpful if you need help with a machine. It does get packed often, its best to look at the schedule to see when its less packed. That’s if you’re looking to see less people (or if you don’t want to wait til a machine is open). If you know it’s going to be packed and are waiting for a machine it’s best to use free weights if you have an exercise that involves dumbbells, etc. In general it’s better to come prepared if a machine is in use so you won’t waste your time.

I recently joined Planet Fitness, and let me tell you, it's been an *out-of-this-world* experience. First off, the place is so welcoming, I half expected the staff to greet me with a warm cookie and a hug. Instead, they smiled and pointed me to the treadmills, which I'm pretty sure double as space shuttles.

The dress code is a mix of '80s aerobics video meets intergalactic explorer - it's like a costume party where everyone's invited, and the theme is 'sweat'. And the 'Lunk Alarm'? It's like a game show buzzer that goes off if you grunt too loud; it's the gym's way of saying, "Congrats, you're officially working out!"

But the best part has to be the monthly Pizza Day. Nothing says 'healthy lifestyle' like bench pressing a slice of pepperoni pizza. It's the fuel you need for those heavy lifts - or at least that's what I tell myself as I reach for a second slice.

In all seriousness, Planet Fitness is a great place to get fit without the pressure. It's clean, friendly, and you can't beat the price. Just remember, it's the only gym where you might leave with a six-pack... of soda. 🏋️‍♂️🍕

I really like going to this gym. The place has good energy, there's a variety of people from total beginners to hardcore bodybuilders, and your fellow gym-goers are generally polite and friendly. Staff is always friendly and pleasant. Multiples of almost every machine so if one is broken down you're not totally screwed. I've been there at all times of day and it seems to me that only the after work hours are the busiest. So like, 4 to 6 PM. I typically go in the morning and it's never very busy, I rarely ever have to wait to use a machine.

What I would love to see: higher weighted barbells and dumbbells or a non-Smith machine weight bench. I think this is unlikely, I think it's a Planet Fitness thing not specific to this location.

I have a disability, I have been in and out of the hospital since September. I was not aware that my account had fell behind because the card on file my husband took over while I have been ill. I called February 23rd 2024 to my Maricopa office and spoke with a female agent who told me my balance was $111.00. On February 25th I came to the location and was greeted by a very lovely young man named Jonathan R. He assisted with removing some of the fees and gave me a receipt to pay the club account balance now of $51. However I could not use the same card from previous so I had to run home and get another credit card instead which I had no problem doing.
A few days later on 2/29/24 I stopped by the Maricopa office with card in hand to pay the $51 however I was discriminated against by a different representative Miss Scotland. She overcharged me, she balled up the receipt that I showed her for the $51 in front of me, and printed out her receipt that was higher at $70.60. she continued to reach around me checking in other guests despite having two co-workers beside her that could have checked those other guests in. She even started talking to another person that came in with a billing issue. Like I was not standing there holding the conversation with her. When I told her politely I have my receipt from Jonathan R that shows $51.00 was due she said in a nasty tone 'I don't know what to tell you if you don't pay this amount you can't come to this club.'
When I asked for my receipt from Jonathan R back to prove it was $51 due she said 'no you have the receipt that shows 70.60' and I said again I need the receipt that I gave you originally. So she rolled her eyes and unbold the receipt and laid it on the counter. In a matter of a few days my account somehow went up $20.60. this was not even including Marches monthly withdrawal. Then last night also on 2/29 in the evening I checked my checking account and $49.98 was being withdrawn from my checking. So I have no idea what she did on my account but she took $70.60 from my credit card and 4998 from my checking. I'm quite dissatisfied with her behavior and dismissive passive aggression. I simply want to work on my rehabilitation and come to the club.

Update: I had the above issue with my local office and within an hour of my review I received a call from Jonathan R and his manager. They really took my concerns seriously and helped me out! Fast, friendly, and helpful. Many businesses haven't been treating clients like humans lately but glad to say this company is not in that category and they treat clients well! One bad apple doesn't spoil the batch.

Quiet, roomy inside, and gymtimidation free. They have solid amenities and always greet you when you arrive.

The parking lot is rather small, but it’s not a big gym to begin with. Lots of cardio equipment and everything you need for a workout short of free weights for the three big movers; bench press, deadlifts, and squats.

The Maricopa PF is basically a cardio gym. So many treadmills and cardio machines, that are never FULL. They could remove so many of them and get in some new lifting machines. Many machines there is only 1 of. This gym is READY for an update.

Absolutely horrible. They get these young kids to sign up for the $10/mo program and then slap them with a $50 activation fee and then a yearly fee of $50. I understand it’s all in the fine print they sign off on….but how do they know the difference between all the different fees. My son thought it was the $50 initial fee when he signed up. No one will refund the $50 yearly fee so we can cancel and be done with them. Very frustrating.

Was just told by one of the staff members at the 5-minute break I was taking in the machine was considered "camping it." I turned to my side and noticed that every other machine was open and no one was waiting for the one I was using. I get needing to enforce the rules but there's a difference between enforcing it when there's a problem and being reprimanded for doing nothing wrong. If your staff would rather i hurt myself on the machines from not taking a break then ill glady cancel my membership and go to a place that respects its customers. (For note not only did i see other people taking the same time break/longer this was also all the other machine that i was apparently "camping on")
