I now hate all Planet Fitness locations. Most of their help is incompetent. Either hire people who who are naturals at customer service and hospitality or spend some time and money to train your people to at least ACT like they want to be there. I'm so sick of this company.

Edit 11/22/25 - LOVE how they respond to the 5 star reviews where everything is just hunky dory but ignore the one star ratings. Proof this company doesn't care about trying to improve the customer experience.

I visited this location today to cancel my membership! Sam the assistant manager took care of me, along with another new member at the same time! He even was scanning people in while helping two people at the desk. He was multi tasking to get everyone taken care of efficiently, but he was extremely patient and kind to everyone, being sure to greet them. He even offered the new member help to set up the mobile app. He was extremely kind, caring, and proficient! Planet Fitness is so lucky to have this guy, he needs a raise and promotion for his work ethic and character!! Also, as usual the location was spotless and clean!! I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience I had at this gym, all thanks to the amazing staff member Dominique. I lost my Apple Watch there and honestly had no idea where I’d left it. Dominique went out of her way to help me search for it at the time, but we couldn’t find it that day. She promised she’d talk to the manager and keep an eye out.

I went on vacation and returned to the gym about two weeks later, and Dominique not only remembered me right away but also remembered that I had lost my watch. I had honestly given up hope, but she came out and handed it to me! I was so impressed by her kindness and how she went the extra mile. I’m almost in tears of gratitude.

Dominique is a true gem, and this gym is lucky to have her. Thank you so much!

By far the worst customer service I've encountered. I have been a victim of identity fraud and this individual made a account in my name using my banking information fraudulently and planet fitness is refusing to make right and close my account. A double amputee with limited mobility and access to transportation to come in person even though the account was created online. Planet Fitness Manager Donny you ought to be ashamed of yourself and the rudeness and accusatory non empathetic individual you are!!

It's ok. You get what you pay for. I like the concept of the 30-minute express workout area for circuit training, but most people don't follow the rules (e.g, use machines in order, move after 1 set), making the space difficult to use properly for that purpose.

I’m only giving 5 stars because the morning and day crew are phenomenal. The night crew on the other hand are pretty lackluster in comparison. I get here between 4:00-5:00 AM and the place is a disaster sometimes. There’s no sanitizer or paper towels in the many of the dispensers and the locker room is just filthy all together. You would expect the night crew to be expected to stock the machines so that they’re all full once the gym opens in the morning but I guess it’s either not required or more likely just being ignored. The morning crew shouldn’t have to pick up extra slack because it’s rough enough getting here and opening the gym at 4:00 without having to start the day cleaning last night’s mess. I hate to come off as harsh but I think it’s in your best interest to ensure that everyone is pulling their share amount of weight. Thank you

I love this gym.
It’s affordable. It’s always very clean. People are kind and not intimidating or rude. There is something for everyone to do at any level. Every piece of equipment has a little picture showing you what to do so you can learn how to use everything without having to ask for help. This gym is my little get away retreat. I have to admit, I always snubbed my nose to Planet Fitness in the past. When my gym closed and they transferred my membership there I figured I'd give them a chance since they were the closest gym to my home.
It turns out that I'm extremely happy here! It's clean and has just about everything. They could use more free weights but they have all the machines and apparatuses.
I travel a lot and they have a gym in every location that I travel to, a huge bonus, and they are all equally well equipped and clean.
You don't know what you're missing unless you try!

I was at Youfit for many years, I cancelled before things went south. I learned from old gym friends, they gave Planet Fitness a try on 7th street and Dunlap. I decided to try out a day pass, and quickly learned the gym wasn't for me. Showers were horrible, hair everywhere, bathroom stall missing toilet paper, and the employees are not only rude (younger man with hat), but they complain about their jobs and use foul language. Not professional, especially while obtaining new gym members from Youfit. A soon to be member should not hear those things sitting at the table in the front.
I decided to give one more Planet a try and LOVE the gym on 39th st and Thomas. Clean, professional, very open and not jam packed full of equipment, changing room with showers all in one, better equipment, they all have built in fans (huge plus), and safer neighborhood. I wish this location luck, from what my friend said, its a revolving door when it comes to employees and a few times no one even showed up in the morning to open the gym. Another perk, the other gym never closes. 24 hours!

I like the club a lot because there’s not a lot of pick me up. Try to date me people and dress code. It’s fun to work out with the weight and I love the classes that Joel is giving now they’re very beneficial. I like it. The club is very clean. Everybody wipes down their equipment after they use them. The bathrooms are very clean. They have tanning booths. I no, they’re not good for you but I like to use them and they have massage chairs and tables you can lay down on and massage your body oh and they have red light therapy as well. We were transferred to this location when our YouFit gym closed. We were not given an option. We have called over 15 times and left messages and have never received a return call. Every month we come in and cancel and every month they bill again saying the cancellation is pending. Staff member Jon was very rude and I waited 30 minutes on hold for corporate. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Sam, I assume he is the manager at the Sunnyslope location in Phoenix. He is a very dedicated person. He is there almost every time I check in - from first thing in the morning til after 8 o’clock at night. This location is constantly cleaned and any equipment issues are fixed quickly. Recently, after hearing some comments about the strip mall’s parking lot being somewhat dark at night, Sam worked to get new fixtures installed in the parking lot, which are much much brighter and I don’t feel unsafe no matter what time I come. He has built a very good staff who are friendly and helpful.
The thing I like so much is that if they’re open, somebody’s cleaning something. It’s never dirty. They have great equipment for cardio and Workouts. I love being a black card member and using the red light therapy and the aqua lounge massage chairs are amazing. I am very grateful for planet fitness and I will keep my membership there forever.

THIS PLACE WILL SCAM YOU!

So, I was a member of a YouFit Gym in Central Phoenix that shut down suddenly with no advanced notice. As a result, I expected my membership to be cancelled and charges refunded. But instead, they worked out a shady deal with this Planet Fitness to transfer my membership without any authorization from me and continued charging my card. I received no phone calls or emails whatsoever giving me advanced notice of the situation (to prevent me from cancelling in advance).

So I called YouFit the day they closed their location, and they claim that I need to go through Planet Fitness to cancel and get a refund. I call Planet Fitness, and they tell me that they have not transferred my membership yet, and I will have to drive to the location and cancel whenever they are able to process the membership transfer that I NEVER agreed to. Still no answers from Planet Fitness on when I will be able to cancel. Therefore, I am currently paying for a gym membership that I cannot use and cannot cancel. If that isn't a complete scam, then I don't know what is.

This is the slimiest business maneuver I have ever seen a gym try to pull. They are obviously just trying to steal as many people's membership dues from YouFit as possible before they are able to figure out their original gym has shut down and initiate the cancellation process. For your own sake, please don't give these people your payment information.

The amount of disrespect at the 7th St location is horrible. Especially from the Manager… or assistant… whomever he is… he’s rude. It cost nothing to be respectful. If you don’t like your job… find a new one sir. I brought my mother to join me but her phone doesn’t allow her to add so many apps and she shouldn’t be talked down too because of it. We asked nicely for a membership card so she doesn’t have to always give her number. The way they treated her was disgusting. It took 2 minutes for him to create one. This the absolute worst possible layout for the men's locker room. There's no place for any toiletries. I did hang them off a towel hook (which they oddly do have as most other PFs seem to have deliberately removed all of theirs). Thankfully it wasn't as full and heavy as it might have been. This thing was not designed to support weight this way. And amusingly just as I've decided that the place is vacant enough that I can just leave all my items on the mat carefully stacked outside the stall the two staffers come in to spray and scrub the floor. At least they do keep up here and that makes me feel better about the overall cleanness as compared to other locations.

Still it's hard to ignore the deficiencies. Google says it was three years ago I was last here yet I think this second time firmly entrenches my conviction to never return when locker room usage will be necessary. To top it off they close at 10pm on weekdays, so there's just one more strike.

I left one star review in the questionnaire they sent me and very soon received a call from manager. They told me that they were already working on AC issue.

I left EOS, because it's a dumpster fire on many levels, to come to Planet Fitness. PF is a very simplistic gym. It's nothing special, and very basic. It is always clean, the machines always work, the front desk is polite, and if you know how to work out; you can make the best of it. It's what you get for $10, and I can't complain. I was a member a few years ago before they had to close due to covid. Decided to try again. Joined 11/16, was billed 11/17, went for the first time on 11/18. Stayed less than 5 minutes when I realized it just wasn't the same place I went before. Much more crowded with machines, totally different energy. Definitely not for me. Asked to cancel and for a refund as I won't be going back and only used a treadmill for 2 minutes. I was told by a manager "we can't give you a refund, but you'll have access until the 16th" even though I made it clear I didn't want to come back, and was told I "needed to cancel by the 10th" to not get charged. Well, how can I cancel by the 10th when I JOINED on the 16th? Not at all helpful.

So, they get to keep my $25, which I guess cost me $12.50 for each minute I was on the treadmill. Never again. :(

My first day here, I’ll be honest in saying I was uncomfortable. Dude near me wouldn’t stop grunting and slamming his weights. I had to walk away. I decided to give it another chance, another day, at a different time. I’m glad I did.

Staff at front are always so friendly and so helpful. Machines are always clean and working. Maybe just one treadmill is out of commission because of a roof leak after the crazy rain we recently had.

Customer service use to be awesome, now it seems they have hired employees that sit on the counter, text and have more interest in chatting versus doing their job. They almost always walk away from the counter and leave the scanner outward with a sign. Sometimes no one is there to greet you. Upper management needs to pay attention so the customer service is up to standards. Sad, the semi-attitudes and looks at customers when they walk in is like we are bothering them yet they are working on the clock.

Super satisfied for the price, location, and hours. I have another gym membership, but the hours sometimes aren't convenient for my work schedule. I'm occasionally on-call 24/7, and having a gym I can go to 24hrs on weekdays is extremely convenient. I have family in Prescott Valley and Massachusetts and was in DC for work last week. $25/mo, with access to a gym within 30minutes of wherever I have traveled is a fair deal by me. Amazingly clean, new, and cared for equipment. Will continue to return

Love this place! An attentive staff maintains it nicely—clean and ordered. Amidst a sea of gyms within 2 miles of my home, I chose this one and never looked back. BUT, today’s visit was less than satisfactory because someone has taken two pins off their lanyards and rendered two machines (BTW, no duplicates within this facility) completely inoperable, with repair estimates for NEXT WEEK. I would be happy to drive to the shop or technician to retrieve replacements! I estimate that more than 200 people use each of these two unique machine per day—this is a major inconvenience! First world problems, to be sure, but your primary goal is, first and foremost: working machines. The terrific staff here is not at fault for the missing pins nor the delay but come on folks, this is an easy task—get more pins! Of interest to me is that more than 50 pins are used within this gym for all the various pieces of equipment and yet assumedly, not one spare. I’d have no qualms about going to the desk, checking out a spare pin and returning it when I was done. Lastly, I don’t know how to do this but few things are more infuriating than folks who occupy a machine to play with their phones. Perhaps A-frame placards with NO CAMPING strategically placed throughout the facility. With my life schedule, I’m lucky to get 2 visits a week; I have full expectations that I’ll efficiently accomplish a complete workout and be on my way. I get that there might be broken welds, used cables and torn seats that require a week or more BUT I could solve today’s issues with a trip to ACE Hardware. I was told at a corporate level that this was the forum of choice to catch the eye of management; please expeditiously resolve one of the easiest problems you’ll ever have. Again, BRAVO to the staff for maintaining likely one of the best PFs in town!

The staff were very professional and friendly. They knew what they were doing when I requested a move from my old gym to their location which was closer to my home. They worked with me and at the same time were able to process people into the gym. I appreciated that.

Having come from LA Fitness Planet Fitness offers a more relaxed atmosphere. You can wipe down each station with wipe down stations and there is a quiet room where you can get a 15m water massage . Staff is cool

This is a very nice gym. With great hours, great equipment, basically two of every machine for each body part, as well as a wide range of cardio and HIIT equipment, friendly staff and gym goers.
