I've only had experience with this PF location. I signed up so I could take my teenage son over the summer and wish I knew canceling would be such a nightmare. I had an employee deliberately give me an incorrect email when I initially tried to cancel. I called later when the email came back as undeliverable and was told to call back when the manager would be there, but every time I called the manager was busy or not there. I finally went in to cancel in person and was told I would still be billed for the month because I didn't cancel a week before billing was scheduled. It's like their trained to punish people for canceling memberships. If I had not had these experiences, I might be resuming my membership in the future, but I never want to deal with the arrogance and disrespect of the staff here ever again.

Updating to add that I see PF responding to other people with complaints about the cancelation process and that the policy requires a signature. Why wasn't I ever just told that the times I called? Why would an employee tell me I can cancel via email?

Due to my schedule, I haven't been in, in almost a year. I was training for a 1/2 marathon last year that was in July in SF. Today I go in and Jazmine is always a bright shiny face to see. She knows me because I had been going in a lot up to last year and she's been there for quite awhile. What I didn't expect was for David to remember me let alone the fact that I was training for a marathon last time. I'll be darned of he didn't walk up to the front as I was checking in and say, hey how's the marathons going? I had only seen him last year for like the week before we went to San Francisco. And he made a point last year to say my name as I checked in and I had told him that I was waiting for my girlfriend who was meeting me there to get on the treadmill for the marathon. It was hot in Arizona so we were going to be training indoors not to mention she had a bad knee that needed to be replaced so we need to make sure she was going to be good. I would expect him to remember me if I was continually coming in ever since then but I told him I was impressed that he remembered and he acted like I was just there last week. I said it's been almost a year since I've been in he said no, and then he looked at the screen and said oh my gosh you're right it has been almost a year. I hope those two stick around for a long time to come still. Their customer service skills are impeccable and they always put a smile on your face.

Back to update review. I'd i could go lower than 1 star I would. I'm done with planet fitness. Referred a friend and never got credit. I've been at that club for 5 years and never had an issue but for some reason some absolute idiot complains that I'm grunting. It's a gym!! People move weights. I wasn't screaming or dropping weights. So an employee comes and confronted me about it. I'm not some muscle head throwing huge weight. So much for a judgement free zone...no judgement except if you breath heavy. Good bye planet fitness!!!

Would not recommend. This is more of a review of planet fitness than the location. Me and my fiance now went to this gym weekly (during our rental stay for 6 months because our house lot on fire).

We were active in going and always greeted on the way in and out. Never dirty or uncomfortable at this gym during our stays.

However, the issue comes with cancelation. I do not live near that rental, so I am no longer near this gym. One thing they don't advertise is how hard it is to get rid of the membership.

The only option is to show up in person or you have to send them a letter in the mail. You may be thinking why doesn't an email, phone call, texts, or any of these other things help or try this handy little application that we have from them help to do this.. I wondered the same thing, and no letter or in person.

I understand this is a ploy to keep people at the gym or paying for their memberships or something of that nature, just some type of a Money grab to make sure that they get paid either way. But to somebody who's already dealing with stuff this is a horrible thing to add on top. If somebody had told us at the beginning of starting our membership that we would have had to come in, in person, to cancel it at the end I would have said that is fine and been ready to do that when we left the rental. But this is not the case the policy is as long as Apples, and if you haven't seen that South Park skit.

This is my gym away from home. Only here at this specific PF a handful of weeks a years and worth the membership. Staff is incredibly helpful, welcoming and top shelf. Over 25 cardio machines of every type (treads, ellipticals, bikes, etc), free weights, machines and full locker room. It's super clean, plenty of parking and hours and so accommodating. Big fan.

Clean facility. Staff are always kind and helpful. We have been going to PF on and off for years. We have memberships for our extended family of all ages and every one loves it. We have utilized the trainer JV for personalized work out sessions as our needs have changed. He is wonderful ! Very patient and always very helpful. Some people complain that they are embarrassed to ask questions or ask for assistance with different machines ( at other gyms). PF machines have instructions and pictures that show how to use them. If you still have questions the staff are always courteous and helpful. I wish that I had names, but everyone that I have encountered has been great.
The app. shows how busy they are at certain times and has plenty of additional information, including discounts for PF apparel and outside merchants.

Rachel was one of the rudest customer service reps I have encountered in a great while. I was invited as a guest by a member who swore after going for a week to this Bell Rd. , Phoenix Planet Fitnesa center that I would want to become a member. Well my friend was running 15 minutes late and Rachel a " customer service" representative rudely and with a condescending attitude said that I could not come in without the member being here. I can appreciate that point but what I could not accept is her extremely rude approach. It is almost as.if she was trying to dlshame me. Oh yes and she did roll her eyes either purposefully or inadvertantly. Planet Fitness on Bell Rd. Will lose business with her lack of professional customer service. Businesses attract clientale with courteous front office staff. I will tell all my friends and family about her terrible approach and of her lack of proper customer service training . Please provide her with appropriate training. Curiously after she was unprofessional and uncouth she was grinning her teeth with other customers once she perceived that I would report her.

Despite the convenience, I won't go here again. I went to get a massage and I just don't understand why the Arizona equipment is outdated basic massage chairs. They're not the good ones, like the planet fitness all over Texas and East. The mid to East Coast has lazy boy style chairs that lay back, lift the legs and has air compression from the head to arms and legs, as the balls kneed and massage the body.
The equipment at this location is broken down too. They don't even have the hybrid lay down tan bed or a working Beauty Angel. It's just a ghetto location.

If I could give this location zero stars I would. I would not recommend this location to anyone that goes to the gym during the evening hours. When I come to this location I am constantly harassed by the same 2 employees. One is a younger black male the other is an older Asian male. I was told I could not workout unless I took a picture. I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for roughly 6yrs. I have NEVER been told I could not access the gym w/o taking a picture. I only have issues at this location during the evening shift. I go during the day the staff is nice, they greet me there’s no issues or concerns. I would recommend getting rid of those 2 employees primarily the black male who takes his job too serious & creates a hostile environment towards paying members. Not acceptable! Thank goodness this location isn’t the only one close by.

--The 30-minute circuit workout is gone. They have moved the 30 minute workout machines in a grouping onto the main floor; however, the cardio steps, the signs, and the light is gone. The machines from my observation are not being used in any kind of circuit formation it has now just become additional available equipment to the main floor.

I went to workout on Wednesday evening, the parking lot was empty, there was a sign on the door that I could see said closed, I walked up to get a closer look and someone came out of the gym and said they were closed until Friday? I did not get any notification or nay word they were going to close. I was out of town from Friday through monday Easter weekend. I did not get an email or see anything on the app? I thought maybe it had to do with the backlash from having a biological male being allowed in female locker room. I know they cancelled the membership of the woman who reported the man in the locker room.

This is about a year or so later and this place hasn't changed much. I had an appointment with a trainer there today at 12:30 who didn't show up. It is still hot as hell in there. And I talked to the manager there and ask him to change a channel on one of the TVs and he told me they were set by corporate planet. Fitness in couldn't be changed. Which is a lie. I have a black membership and go to planet fitnesses all over the country and they changed channels all the time. That guy was rude. The young people that work behind the desk are always very nice. But I'm done with this location. I have a black card. I'll go to another one. Actually. The one on cactus and 43rd is great. The manager there is awesome and it is much cleaner than this place on Bell

Let’s get it straight- I love Planet Fitness. But come on, you know better. The parking situation here isn’t the best, but tonight the parking lot is dark. Not sure what happened, but it’s not lit well enough to discourage break ins, in my opinion. The staff are friendly. The facility is clean. But why isn’t anyone paying attention to the fact that several of the televisions are playing infomercials? I know that people don’t come here to watch tv specifically, but give me something better than FOX and Medicare infomercials while I’m doing cardio. I usually have a 5 star review here for many reasons. I’ll change it back to 5 stars again, but please Planet Fitness, pay attention to the details again.

This location is pretty small compared to my old planet fitness location and the TVs were too small to see much of what was going on. I like zoning out to the images while on the treadmill with my music lol it makes doing the same or similar exercises day after day by myself more tolerable for my adhd. I know planet fitness has a lotta competition in this area so that’s a bummer. This one was never very crowded which was nice but it was understaffed for a lot of my membership, it might be better now. There just wasnt enough equipment or sense of community for me to continue now that I live in an apartment that has a gym.

Some of us have to workout in the morning and can't go home to shower and have to get ready ...and it's been a few weeks w the showers down. I dnt think they care at all

Takes a long time for equipment to be fixed I have been switching to other locations. I expressed my concerns to the club and manager couldn't be bothered to respond

It is very clean, and open most of the time. I recently upgraded to the black card and am really happy I did. I enjoy the hydro lounge massage chair after workouts and look forward to trying out some of the other black card perks. (I changed this review from 5 stars to 4 because the 1 hydro massage lounge chair is often broken. It is my favorite thing there!)
