Was in for a Sunday workout when I went to leave there was a female in the locker room, which I do understand they have to go in there to clean. I asked for 10 minutes just to get showered and changed. I was told “ oh there’s changing rooms you can go ahead”. I went to the front desk to ask if I could have 10 minutes to get changed and showered and was told “no once they start they have to finish and if they let me have 10 minutes then there could be somebody else”
It’s a good location good facility good equipment. It’s a shame that weekend staff ruin it for users.
It’s really a shame that it’s burden to be the customer and a member for some planet fitness locations.

This might only be relevant to traveling Black Card members. This morning (2/28/25), I came in and scanned my badge. A woman behind the counter stopped me and asked for my ID. I had to go back to my car to get it.

I would normally not sweat this, but:
- I've never been asked this before
- she didn't ask anyone else that came in
- It kind of tainted my gym session

Overall this gym is nice though a little small. This was my third day here this week and I had no issues on the other days.

I felt judged in the "judgement free zone" and did not like it.

If most members are wearing their headphones so they can enjoy whatever they are listening, why is the music ALWAYS so loud coming from the Gym’s speakers?

It is very annoying I have to blow up my eardrums by increasing my volume so I don’t have to hear whatever music the gym is playing on their powerful speakers.

Turn it down. Members want to hear their stuff not your loud music. Have you noticed most members are wearing a headset ? There is a reason for that. Thank you.

Edit: So I got a reply from (owner) telling me to speak to the staff about the loud music the gym is always playing. I would think that is management’s job to address that issue, so don’t ask me to do your job “owner”. It is just common sense. Users don’t want to hear the gym’s loud music. That is why 95% of US, the customers, wear a headset when we are there so we can enjoy OUR music, not YOURS. Thank you.

I used to loving going to this place until the hour change. After the gym went 24/5, I still stuck around. I do have an issue with one individual who would often close at the gym. This individual (I won’t say names) must of thought it was cute or a good idea to flicker the lights on and off when it was getting close to closing time. This wasn’t a first time instance either. The issue at hand is that most of the time they would flicker the lights, it would be a few minutes before the gym had to close. I would be on the gym equipment like the stair stepper when the lights were flickering and I was annoyed by this. I was on top of an equipment that constantly moves; one miss step and I could fall. Not being able to see where your stepping in between those 1-2 second flickers while going on a moderate speed can me an equation for a disaster. I wanted to go up and complain to the working, but my girlfriend encouraged me not to do so. So instead of being in a potentially risky gym with bad hours, we decided to take our business elsewhere. The people there are great, the hours and that one individual, not so much.

Not a bad place employees are friendly and it clean. But this PF like all other are judgemental towards those that want to lift weights. You think in a gym near a Marine base, and with high BP and Customs officer they have more free weights. They can easly take out a third of the cardio machine and add more benches and weights. Great staff! Lost my wallet today while working out without even knowing an employee by the name of des rushed to find out who it belonged to. I have been getting charged for this gym membership multiple times and every time it says that they didn't pull out money yet everytime i check my account they have pulled money then when I try to use my membership it says I am not active and I try to cancel my member ship over the phone they then said I needed to go in to cancel my account so I go in mind u asked if I had to go too any specific location and they said no I then went into the plant fittnes by the mall and was told I can't cancel my gym membership there because that's not my home gym now mind u my home gym was never picked by me and the only gym I have tried too use is the one at the mall never even been to the one in the foothills. Planet fitness is a joke and have screwed me out of 300 dollars

I wish I could give this location ZERO stars …. I’m not from Yuma and it’s very evident. When I come here I get stopped EVERY time I check in … I get question to the 3rd degree and I get asked to present my ID … again I TRAVEL FOR WORK so I’ve been to lots of plant fitness and never get stopped at check in .. I do have the membership where I can bring a friend and go to any location … when I bring my friend/ coworker she couldn’t even work out be cause of 3rd degree questions and ATTITUDE from the worker/manger at the front desk, she didn’t even offer a SOLUTION to the issue but yet she was ok with my co worker walking out . Then every time I come here I have somebody come up to me while I’m working out saying something I’m doing is wrong LITERALLY EVERY-TIME I COME IN… it got so crazy that the worker told me I can’t talk on the phone … but yet there is at least 50+ people talking in here among each other or on the phone .. at this point this gym has a Discrimination problem and needs to be addressed.. I feel like I’m living in the 1930s when comming here like I don’t belong .. and baby it’s 2024… karma is real

We have traveled from coast to coast and visited many PF’s. We have never felt so unwelcome as we have in Yuma. We (my wife and I) practice Yoga, Pilates, Tai-Chi, Qi-Gong and I am practicing Martial Artist.
I order to train properly, many of these practices require that your feet be bare or “naturally covered”…aka..cotton or linen socks. This is a requirement for grounding, stretching, overall foot health and is core to our practices.
We begin every workout with these routines. We use the floor pads, pick a spot, remove our shoes (leaving our socks ON!) and do our “floor work”. We have never had an issue until we started coming to Yuma. A member of the staff has demanded we put our shoes on “because it’s the rules”. She has escalated it to the point of threats of banishment.
We find this to be highly unusual and discriminatory to our practice.
We are reasonable folks, and we understand that shoes are to be worn to protect our feet. Lifting weights, using equipment, all require reasonable foot protection.
Our feet require no protection when we are sitting on a padded floor stretching or in a yoga pose, in the Designated Stretching Area at your facility! When we conclude our floor work, we put our shoes back on and hit the equipment areas like everyone else. We have noticed that only 1 Single Employee has taken up this cause. No other employee says a word. Even the General Manager walks by and leaves us to our business.
We find Her behavior very disturbing and contradictory to your company’s motto of “no judgment” and “all inclusivity”.
We also feel her behavior is discriminatory to “Eastern/Asian Exercises and Practices”.
This is behavior is unacceptable. Her demanding, authoritarian attitude coupled with threats of banning has created a hostile environment where my wife and I’s daily health practices are not welcome.
We have cancelled our Black memberships to Castle Doom PF.
We highly recommend a designated area for yoga and other floor exercise's where shoes are optional. Until PF includes that option and retrains that young lady with some lessons in customer service and humility, we will not be conducting business with your company.

Came to this planet fitness since I was in town to see the Yuma airshow. Few things about this planet fitness that I was not expecting is the layout of the gym when you first walk in there’s a big foyer and a table for you to sit at the welcome desk is on the left-hand side where you can scan it with either a key type or a badge, usually there is somebody behind the desk. The locker rooms are very well kept there total of 2 1/2 rows of treadmills a row and a half of ellipticals a few rowing machines and then onto seated workout equipment to free weights to Smith machines to the 30 minute circuit area to the abs area to a 360 X area, there’s also a black card spa holder area so if you have a black card, there’s a special place for you to go for you to get your benefits such as: massage
Chairs, tanning beds, and so much
the coolers are a bit empty. The reason I gave this gym four stars is due to some of the employees. How employees interact with guests is a big portion of my review process. Learning to be open to those whom are different really does matter. Some employees greeted me with a warm and energetic welcome while others ignored me completely, as if I don’t exist Planet fitness yes you are a franchise. However, this is a judgment free zone and that’s what I expect when I come to work out. Other than that the overall experience minus some of the negative things I heard from not only employees but other planet fitness guess the equipment was in immaculate shape. There wasn’t anything broken

What brought me to this gym was the deal(s) they had going on for membership, the 24-hour availability on some days, plus the app was/is in fine working order, like posting if it was crowded at a certain time, etc. After I signed up online, I showed up at the gym and asked for a tour. The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable with a friendly vibe, the place clean ! And I love the variety of various workout stations. It's also very family-friendly, and the parking lot is huge!

Worth the consideration, whether you're a casual or constant gym user!

I watched an employee nag at a customer because he wore a racer tank top. Seems like normal workout wear to me, but apparently she didn't like looking at his nipples??? I took my shoes off and worked out on a mat doing some yoga stretching, which is hard to do in shoes. Same woman. Accounted me and told me I was not allowed to take my shoes off though I was out of everyone's way. Only gym in yuma that accepts my insurance. I travel around alot. Couple days ago I came out of the Black Card area and one of the girls behind the counter was saying, "gross gross gross gross" as I walked out onto the floor. I know I'm ugly, but calling me gross because you thought I couldn't hear is a bit much (My headphones were not connected at the time).

I actually liked this place because the whole "Judgement Free Zone" thing, but now I feel like I am being judged each time I visit if the staff that was there at the time is working.

At worst some of the staff has been dismissive. I started out coming in the early AM when the hours were still limited after covid. So, the ones doing good... The girl with the partially bleached hair growing out is always nice, the blond guy who doesn't seem to be around much now has always been cool, the guy with the beard is cool, and the really tall kid.

And no I don't want to email you, that will just make me a bigger target.

UPDATE:
If the owner is truthfully interested, she was working opening the mornings of 11/11/23 and 11/12/23

But my stance remains, I do not want to email you. My experience is that nothing will happen and the workers will just get more condescending and rude.

I am very happy I joined Planet Fitness. The gym Is close to home and near to where my typical errands are. They have plenty of new machines that I am familiar with from cardiac rehab.
