I’ve been training with David Larson for years, and I can’t say enough great things! David is one of the most motivating trainers I’ve ever worked with. He has an incredible depth of knowledge and education in the fitness industry that goes far beyond your typical “gym trainer.”
As a woman in my 50s who deals with the occasional back flare-up and other minor issues now and again, I always feel confident that David is able to tailor each workout to my needs. My husband and I trained with Mimi at Raise The Bar Training Studio while we lived in Arizona for the winter and had an incredible experience working with her! She provided a helpful initial fitness assessment and built a personal training program that not only could we do together, but that also helped us reach our individual fitness goals. I can't recommend Mimi enough - she is personable, knowledgeable, and encouraging to work out with. Mimi is incredible!!! She recently set up a completely personalized, circuit-based workout for a friend’s bachelorette in Scottsdale and she and her team could not have been more amazing. From naming each of the stations based on our theme (including cards printed in the same exact style as the rest of our decorations) to working with every individual in our group to maximize their experience, Raise the Bar went absolutely above & beyond. They were particularly great at tailoring the workout to those who were not particularly keen on working out to begin with (lol) and those who were pregnant, as well as matching the enthusiasm of those who were already pumped about it. Mike is a fantastic motivator, remembering everyone’s names with ease (it’s the little things!) and being super generous with praise & encouragement for our group. Mimi & Mike did bring a third employee (whose name I unfortunately cannot remember) and she was fabulous as well, taking photos and videos of our group to help commemorate the experience. Cannot say enough good things about them, would HIGHLY recommend for your next group event!!!

Blaze is everything I want in a personal trainer! When we first spoke, I told him what I wanted — to hold me accountable, bulk up here and there, etc. Each session (2 times per week), he has a clear plan that he executes. He’s the nicest guy ever, except when he shouldn’t be (he pushes me hard)! He gives praise and corrects my form as needed. Also, he is a great communicator. I’m so happy I found him! And after 4 weeks, I’m starting to see results (and more importantly, so is my girlfriend!).

Raise The Bar is a great gym with very professional and super friendly staff who work very hard with you to achieve your goals. They offer flexible sessions and given no membership this gym has a very personal feel to it. I can only recommend it. I've been going to Raise the Bar for several months and I love it! I'd like to describe it as a boutique-style training studio. It's well-maintained, has everything you need and feels comfortable. I LOVE this training studio! I have been going twice a week for about a year now and i couldn't be happier! I have trained with both Alec Stewart and Mike Bernknopf and they both are very professional, nice and def know what they are doing when it comes to training! The studio is perfect for small groups to have an intimate workout experience with their trainer. 10/10 will never work out anywhere else!

I found this place back in August when gyms were still closed & was looking because I felt my body needing to start working out again...I compared this personal studio with some other ones based on prices and overall the vibe/attitude through conversing with the studios I reached out to. Selma was my first contact here and she gave me all the info I needed, friendly and quick to respond- she set me up with a free one on on meeting with my now personal trainer Mike! It was basically a mini interview about my goals and lifestyle, my experience with working out etc. I’ve been working out since mid August to present and have seen/felt a really progressive change, physically, in my body strength, & posture. With only working out 2 days a week I can definitely tell it is working. The studio is small and one on one, so it feels good with everything going on, but also the way they come up with a customized plan to execute your goals makes it feel very attainable. They do measurements and have this fancy machine that weighs/figures out your body fat so that you can keep track of progress. I’ve had a few different training experiences that I haven’t loved and so was hesitant to start again but there has never been judgement from Mike, only lots of encouragement...friendly & down to earth, corrects my form when I’m wrong but in a uplifting way, and great conversation as well. I’ve loved working out here, can’t wait to keep growing and learning more.

TL,DR: If I could give 6 stars I would! Completely recommended!
On extremely short notice, I was able to book 2 sessions with Mike specifically to learn a weightlifting movement I had struggled to learn on my own. Mike did an exceptional job diagnosing my issues, explaining what they were, demonstrating and having me practice the mobility work I should do to help improve my technique going forward. I performed a progression of the movement I was trying to learn, with Mike giving demonstrations, critiques, and positive reinforcement as necessary. After the 2nd session I felt much better about my technique to the point where I can now practice and improve on my own without risking injury.
The actual space is relatively small for a gym (maybe 20x50 ft?), but that's perfect because it was just Mike and me in the whole place. Even with another trainer and visitor it would be enough space. They have all the equipment you would expect, and everything is laid out well.
Next time I'm in town I'll be giving RTB a call for sure!

It just goes to show you can always learn something new! I got my PT cert. five years ago, but studios like Raise the Bar make it feel like you can always improve your understanding and goals. I came in for the event-- all the trainers had absolutely great energy the whole time. Raise the Bar completely nails that positive, small studio atmosphere to really focus on your goals! I usually work out in groups, the group classes are one of the best i've had. The trainers are motivating and know when to push when you need it. Im excited to have personal training sessions as well, will create another review when I go through that. This is a great private personal training studio with educated trainers. My workouts are planned ahead and my trainer, Mike B, always has modifications or adjustments based on my goals. I have gotten solid results here and continue to progress each session.

I was active my whole life, but not athletic.My sister-in-law had been working out with Mike Bernknopf @bodybern for over a year and her entire life had transformed, so she referred me to @LiveJACKED.
At first, I was really nervous, but Mike put me at ease right away. His energy and passion showed through in the first 5 minutes of our session. He had so many questions for me and was actually interested in my answers, so it made me feel like this program was truly about me and my health goals, not just fitting me into a pre-existing program. In that first meeting, Mike described to me what we would change about my current diet and workout routine and how things would work if I signed up with LiveJACKED. He answered all my questions and didn’t push me to sign up immediately, which sealed the deal for me. The last trainer I signed with gave me ultimatums to sign, so the fact that I wasn’t feeling pressured really made me want to work with Mike.
By far my most favorite part about working out at Live JACKED was how easy Mike made the transformation. He gave me a full meal plan and lists of foods to eat and not to eat, which really worked for me. Every workout he had a plan ready and always worked me to the max. Mike also told me what I should do on the days that I didn’t work out with him – there was no guessing. That made it easier to be able to focus all my energy on the food changes I was making at home. For me, that was the key to my success; I didn’t have to research and make choices, I just followed the plan and texted him if I had questions.
The workouts were phenomenal! For the first 6 weeks I had a health issue come up, so Mike changed my eating plan and my workout plan to adjust. He made me have hope that even with the health issue I could still get healthy and lose the weight. I loved when I could start lifting the heavier weights and really push myself to the limit. The workouts were never boring or repetitive, and his energy and encouragement helped me work my hardest. Some of the things he taught me are: proper weight-lifting techniques, how to push through the pain of a workout for better results, a proper HIIT running program, and how to read the symptoms (and find the cause) when my body hasn’t had enough carbs, salt, water, or rest.
Mike’s encouragement throughout the program was the icing on the cake for me. When I got to the point when I wanted to quit, all of Mike’s encouraging phrases were in my head and I trusted him that the hard work would pay off – and it has! He would check in with me during the week about how my eating and workouts were going, and I was always so proud of myself when I could tell him on Monday afternoon that I did my workouts. Even when I did a workout and for some reason or another it wasn’t the most I’ve lifted or the best I felt I should have done, he was always proud of me for showing up and putting in the time with him or by myself.
I think the most important thing Mike gave me was a better perspective of my own health and fitness. He taught me that it is all up to me and through discipline I can transform myself. I had never been able to lose body fat before, so I was pretty discouraged before I started with LiveJACKED. Now I feel strong, confident, and I know that I can do whatever I put my mind to – so now I just have to pick a new goal! I wanted to be down to 18 – 22% body fat and I am down to about 20%! I am able to deadlift about 160 lbs, and I used to struggle with lifting the bar. The unquantifiable results mean more to me than anything. I feel as though I am a different person. My husband used to have to beg me to go hiking or running, and now I am asking him to go. I can say without any doubt that I am so happy I started working out at LiveJACKED, and I can’t wait to go back to visit. If you are trying to decide if it is worth the time and money to train with LiveJACKED, take it from someone who has been there – it is worth every penny, and all you have to do is show up!
