I love what they have done to the Gym when it was re-opened. They have plenty of equipment and a good workout environment. My only issue is with the Men's showers. They are ice cold and after working out and being extremely warm it is a shock to get into cold showers. It is getting worse as the outside temperature's are dropping. I have turned on the showers for five minutes and it does not change the temperature one degrees toward warm. I have tried all the way to the red side and all the way to the blue there is no change. I have mentioned it and am told I am sorry but nothing changes. I know I am not the only one who has brought this up. At least one other member says they have brought it up as well, with no response. They must have two water heaters. The sinks which are by the wall to the Women's restrooms will get hot water, but not the showers. I may have to resort to a sponge bath at the sink to get warm water. It may prove to be an embarrassment when the bathroom door is opened and people see me naked at the sink. I hope this gets resolved or I may have to find another Gym.

The gym is old and has not been updated in over 10 years. The place caught on fire and is not available to members, but they are still charging monthly membership fee. They say they will get back to you and they never do.

Use to be a good gym the place is now run down all the equipment is falling apart or in bad shape, especially the outdoor gym. the lettering outside half of it doesn't light up it's been like this for a few years. such a shame maintenance is not being done

Why is it over 80Β° everytime i come to this place? Is it normal that its so hot that sometimes i feel like fainting during workouts? Why did I get yelled at and threatened to get kicked out by the manager for accidentally dropping a weight instead of her checking if i was ok and not injured? SMH

The pool is clean and great for laps. The equipment is ok, most of it works well. Staff is friendly. Gets a little warm when doing cardio. Lots of classes. Best gym in The rich river.

New members (and seniors) should be aware that you will be charged a fee to join, and if you decide to cancel, you will also be charged a healthy fee to cancel. In my case, cancellation fee was over $80.

Variety of workout equipment, pool, showers, and lots of classes.. Mostly for older folks or women(classes).. Only complaint is dudes hog the machines and equipment or stand around taking up space most the time. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I have been working out here for the last 8 years. I have been training for 53 years and been competing in bodybuilding and powerlifting until last year. Of the dozens of gyms I have trained at over the last 50 years, this gym is the best one for my needs. I work out at 5:00 AM and the "morning crew" is composed of serious, hardcore men and women. No long BS sessions, a brief nod and "morning" and everyone just buckles down and trains hard. I use the outside area year long, in cold, heat and rain. It sharpens your concentration to have to tune out the weather and the sunrises halfway thru your workout are inspiring.
If you are serious about training come here. If you want to do a light set every 10 minutes while tying up the weights, show off your designer workout outfit and looking at your phone every 5 seconds, find somewhere else.
I response to some of the criticisms in the other reviews:
1) The complainer about prices, $299/year is very competitive locally.
2) The complainer about dumbells only to 100. Try looking on the floor next to the dumbell racks. The 120's are pretty conspicuous.
3) "No squat rack". There is a substantial squat rack in the outside area. Been these for years but you have to step out of the air conditioning to find it.
4)" It is too far away." A great gym is worth the drive if you are serious about accomplishing something. Spend the drive there mentally going thru the upcoming workout and getting the right mind frame. On the way home, while enjoying the satisfaction of a great workout, review the workout and figure a way to make the next one even better.
To beginners: This gym welcomes beginners and everyone is more than willing with advise and assistance. Do not be intimidated! Come, learn, and make progress!

Best gym I've ever been to in my entire life. I've been to a lot of gyms. Sure it's expensive, but they have a heated pool and a lot of classes. There is a squat rack unless your afraid of lifting outside. The free weights go to all anyone needs and they have a few sets. I'm just still trying to find the rock climbing wall.

I just moved to rio rico and the fitness center look like something to do here it has great machines but it doesn't have trainers or at least people that will help you with the machines. They have a heating pool which is pretty nice and the place is clean and in great condition. They offer a variety of classes but they schedule is not good

The gym has enough equipment to maintain. There is not a squat rack, the Dumbbells only go to 100lbs, and the out door portion is not covered so the weights and equipment are rusted and worn. $$$$$ is the biggest issue. The pricing is way to high. If the prices were better people would be more inclined to work out which equals better business and possible gym expansion. 60$ a month. Someone build a new gym in Rio Rico AZ.
