When it comes to finding a good gym, Scottsdale Combine stands out in every way. The staff here are top-notch—extremely knowledgeable and always ready to help you push your limits. They understand what it takes to train at a high level and offer personalized coaching that makes a huge difference. Whether it’s form correction, advanced training techniques, or advice on recovery, they’ve got it covered.
The gym culture is incredibly motivating. Everyone, from the trainers to the members, has a strong, supportive mindset that makes training here so much more enjoyable. The environment pushes you to be better every day, and you can see it in the results.
I noticed huge improvements in my performance and overall fitness. The gym provides the tools, expertise, and community to take your training to the next level. If you're serious about achieving your goals and improving as an athlete, this is the place to be! Highly recommend.

All three of my sons have trained with Rob and his amazing crew. I love the focus on traditional traditional lifts (bench, squat, clean) along with new methods of training. The attention to detail on lifting technique is also top notch. I can't say enough positive things about Scottsdale Combine!

I have had nothing but the most incredible experience at Scottsdale combine. I have never been with a coaching staff that is so dedicated to personal development both in and outside of the gym. The coaches are committed to each and every one of their athletes, providing constant constructive feedback while always showing genuine care for their well being. I have been going to this gym since before high school and I truly believe Scottsdale Combine is the reason I was able to have a successful collegiate athletics career at the NCAA Division 1 level. There is nowhere else you can get this type of impactful training experience. Rob and his team are the best there is.

Scottsdale Combine is a world class facility that is more than just a gym. From a versatile staff, virtually unlimited amenities, and highly personalized training plans, there is the right fit for every type of person or athlete. In my own personal experience, this organization changed the trajectory of my life forever by enabling me to achieve my maximum potential at the division 1 FBS football level.

Our family's experience at The Scottsdale Combine has been exceptional for the past five years. My son, a student athlete who began training there in seventh grade, has significantly benefited from their personalized approach.
He now demonstrates perfect form in all compound movements and entered his freshman football season as one of the strongest players on the team despite weighing only 150 pounds.
Beyond strength training, The Scottsdale Combine offers speed and agility training, making it a true one-stop shop for athlete development. The level of instruction and engagement surpasses any other facility we've encountered. Rob, Cade, and Cale are truly dedicated to the success of their student athletes.
They just added a Wellness Center. They offer a cold plunge, wet and dry sauna and red light therapy.
I've also personally utilized the gym and found it to be an ideal environment for serious lifting in a traditional, old-school setting. You won't find fancy machines here, but you also won't encounter distractions like people sitting on equipment on their phones or recording themselves for their social media accounts. If your goal is to come in and get after it, this is the place to be.

Rob & his crew are second to none! They are motivating, knowledgeable and they CARE about their athletes! If you have a young athlete (any sport) don’t hesitate, get them in that gym ASAP, it’s worth every penny.

Rob and his team have been training the boys for years. No matter where the boys go, they are complemented on their technique. They skills they learned at the combine will be taken with them through life. The boys wouldn't be where they are without the combine.

Scottsdale Combine is by far the best gym in Scottsdale! I’ve trained there for 5 years and have seen immense improvement in my fitness and overall athleticism as a result of their training. The trainers do a great job of pushing you to reach your potential while keeping a positive attitude and really investing in you both as an athlete and a person. Working out here is always the best part of my day!

This gym and culture keeps me going. I want to ski for free when I’m 80 and Cale and Cade will be with me on the chairlift. I’m 55 now and have never felt stronger. This crew has embraced our family and we are all so grateful. Rob and his team have been there to keep our two collegiate athletes and us as parents strong and competitive. It’s a good day when i’m pushing a sled next to my husband and my two kids. Every day is a new day at combine for me. The only thing that doesn’t change is the attitude. This place is not fancy it’s just focused.

I absolutely love working out at Scottsdale Combine. Our trainers are so supportive and motivating. They are always pushing me to do my best while still making sure I’m comfortable and confident in what I am doing. Plus the facility is great and they have so many options for recovery. It is hard to find a place that has it all but they really do!

Everyone has their own experiences with the gym life or incidentals gyms. Me personally, I have had an extremely positive experience with this one and as a result, I have been coming to the Scottsdale school of fitness/combine for years. The trainers are very passionate about their work and even more about their clients progress. Everyone has their good and bad days but regardless of what kind of day I’m having, I pretty much always leave the gym feeling better and satisfied. The atmosphere is outstanding. The people and coaches/trainers are of great quality. Everyone there is experienced and knowledgeable in the gym world. Definitely a place to go if you are looking to better yourself while also having an enjoyable experience.

Absolutely love this place. My boys have been attending the group training sessions for close to 8 years now. Rob, Cale, and Cade are attentive and keep track of their progress. Whether your child has college aspirations or not, the main things they will develop from attending is confidence and commitment. If you are parent drop off the kid and get a workout on your own plenty of equipment to satisfy your needs.

Easily one of the nicest gyms in Arizona, not just Scottsdale. It's a private gym, so they don't really have any staff but all the trainers that work there are friendly and everyone knows what they're doing. They also carry a lot of equipment you can't find at most other gyms, like a flip sled, vertical leg press, and many more!

I've been a member of Scottsdale Combine for 16 months now.
Facility:
The gym is truly exceptional. All the equipment is well-maintained and consistently clean. It's conveniently located in north Scottsdale with ample parking available. They recently introduced a recovery center upstairs, featuring cold plunges, Normatec boots, a sauna, red light therapy, and more. This is a fantastic way to kick off or wrap up a workout. The building is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort throughout the year.
As a private personal training gym, it caters exclusively to personal training clients, meaning it's never overcrowded, and there's no waiting for machines. The selection of equipment is thoughtfully curated, providing everything you could possibly need.
Trainer:
My trainer, Cade, is honestly incredible. I can’t say enough about this guy. It's rare to find someone who truly embodies and lives up to their calling in life, but Cade is one of those dudes.
He possesses extensive knowledge of fitness and strength training and is incredibly passionate about his work and his clients. He holds me accountable for myself, to my goals and my progress.
When I first joined the gym, I knew very little about strength training and proper technique. From the start, Cade has dedicated time to researching and creating specific, detailed plans to help me achieve significant improvements in my training. He is encouraging, uplifting, and a joy to be around. He instructs and demonstrates techniques with great detail, explaining everything clearly and concisely.
Throughout our sessions, Cade remains consistently attentive and never seems distracted. He has ALWAYS been punctual (unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself). He prioritizes safety, ensuring that I can handle the exercises and know how to perform them without risking injury. I can honestly say I have exceeded my own expectations for where I hoped to be at this stage in my journey and I have Cade to thank for that.
I've also interacted with several other trainers at the gym, and I can confidently say that each one is a consummate professional. Cale, Dan, and Chuck are all fantastic trainers and great people.
Lastly, the owner of the facility, Rob, is fantastic. He takes immense pride in his gym, reinvesting in equipment and infrastructure to keep everything in top shape. He has built an incredible facility and demonstrates a deep passion for his business.
Overall, I can’t recommend Scottsdale Combine and Cade Fredrickson enough. Check this place out, you won’t regret your decision.

Great gym in the heart of the Scottsdale Airpark. After some major health setbacks, I’ve been working with Cade four days a week and I’ve gone from 185lbs to 215lbs… all muscle! I feel amazing and the atmosphere is all business with a side of fun. Great recovery room upstairs with cold plunge , sauna, red lights and normatec boots. Do your life a favor and get here and ask for Cade

I have been attending Scottsdale Combine for 4 years now and absolutely love it! Thanks to the trainers, I have grown so much mentally and physically. Coaches Rob, Cale, and Cade always push me to do my best and help me achieve goals I didn’t think possible. The coaches clearly love what they do and it shows! I would’ve never gotten to where I am now without their training.

I’ve never been more disrespected and spoken to poorly by a general manager. I am respectful to everyone I meet, and because my card declines I was told very rudely and not even concerned like what happened? Either I need to pay or leave. I have no problem paying for great training, but one thing we can all learn is how to talk and treat ppl. I was embarrassed and spoken to as a child by a man no better or no less than me. I hope the owner reads this. Disrespect is something I choose not to tolerate especially from a private gym that I chose to sign up at because I struggle with mental health. Take care, and be aware

It's hard to explain to people what's wrong with Planet Fitness if they've never been to a place like this. A gym that actually cares and doesn't judge will accept you where you're at, but, will genuinely want you to be better. This place feels like a comfortable place to train yet the pro staff seem like they will take a real interest in your development. I'd recommend this place to a collegiate athlete and my mom.

Pros:
-Never busy/packed so you don't have to wait for equipment
-Limited/exclusive membership so not populated by douchy bros slamming weights around
-Most of the personal trainers are very friendly
-Seems to be a good place for young athletes (middle school-high school) to train and be exposed to physical fitness outside of school
Cons:
-Extremely limited equipment
-Personal trainers can and do close gym before posted hours if they don't feel like staying and they will ask you to leave
Personal experience:
-I cancelled my membership because two days in a row personal trainers asked me to leave once 30 mins before posted hours and the next day an hour before posted hours because I was the only one in the gym and they didn't feel like staying. The owner, Rob, prorated a refund for me upon my request but never seemed concerned or apologized for my poor experience and acted like I was a nuisance to him and trying to cheat him out of a membership. The gym was also closed randomly on a Sunday ,when it's normally open, with no prior notice.

This is the best place for kids that I have ever seen. Mine were glued to the computer and eating bad foods and now they are both addicted to a healthy life style and in great shape with positive additudes. This is a must do. Highly recommend.
