Been going here off and on for almost 10 years. This location has seen different management over the years and fitness 1 is definitely the best.

If you enjoy working out with a mask, making reservations to do your workout, and donβt need parkingβ¦ then this is your place.
I joined ASUFC at the beginning of January. It has a good selection of equipment and is walking distance from my house, which is great because they donβt have parking. Once classes began at ASU in mid- January, a mass policy was suddenly mandated in the gym & members were required to reserve work out times in advance. I literally canβt work out in a mask because itβll cause me to hyperventilate. Fortunately I was paying the monthly membership so I just took the loss. There was no mention of these rules being implemented when I first joined 12 days earlier. That seems like a bait and switch to me.

Clean, equipped gym with friendly staff. Classrooms and multipurpose rooms were modern and well-maintained even with heavy use by students.

Great place to workout and the YMCA is conveniently located next door. No excuses for not working out.

Not the best facility but had nice equipment. Very limited on free weights (squat racks and platforms)

Great place to workout. But if you're a student be aware that you'll have to pay a monthy fee in between semesters. Might as well buy a YMCA Membership next door that includes parking instead of this ASU Membership.

Good place to get your workout done. Very little people to bother you. Everyone mind's their own business. Not a place to bring guests as it's too expensive. Right in front of the lightrail so you don't have to walk far after leg day.

The students working there could provide better service. Some are rude or awkward. I guess they need more experience. They have a variety of machines. The YMCA right next door is nice and they have a pool and a bigger locker room. Overall, the machines are nice and have big screens.

The SDFC at the downtown Phoenix location is definitely downscaled from its bigger brother down at Tempe. However, they provide enough equipment to get a good workout, and the addition of the YMCA attached to the building means you'll be hard-pressed to get a sweat going. Wish there were more weights than cardio machines though.

Best gym in town- get access to basically two gyms: ASU and YMCA. Asu side is incredible and very large. Never too crowded

It shares with the YMCA so it is double the gym, with half the patronage being elderly, so they don't need a bunch of the equipment that the younger, college crowd requires.
