This is a lovely studio, with a cute little boutique. There is no ego and lots of smiles. The yoga rooms are heated to about 80-85 degrees, I think. Not hot, just enough to help your muscles loosen and for you to glisten. They change the schedule and teachers often, but have offered (will offer?) barre, Pilates, vinyasa (levels 1-3), restorative, mommy yoga, and other things. They hold good community events at local establishments, like poolside yoga at FoundRe hotel.

I received my yoga teaching certification with Sutra Midtown completing 200 hours and I must say this was a journey I will never forget. Whether you're looking to become a teacher or just to deepen your practice, Sutra Studios in my opinion was a great school. The teachers were knowledgeable, warm, and always held space for each of us students. I was able to take my time with my studies and purchase classes as I go. After receiving my certification I felt truly grateful for what I experienced and the knowledge I gained. Thank you Sutra Studios!

Sutra is the perfect little yoga sanctuary. This is my favorite studio. The instructors are fantastic, and the owners are super committed to the community. I look forward to my classes there each week.

I really wanted to love this studio. The desk staff and teachers were really friendly and both studios were really cool looking. The website was really nice and Sutra Studios claimed to be award winning and that they had the best teachers in town. I enjoyed the classes I attended. They had good music and some teachers gave a nice mini massage in resting poses. But I started to notice the teacher turnover was often. At one point they didn’t have the teachers name available for the classes on the app. There have been a couple of times where there was no paper towels in the restrooms and no where else to dry your hands. Also, it makes me question the legitimacy of the website claims when I see one of the owners and a couple teachers give positive reviews for their own studio on these reviews. Why would they have to fluff up the score if the studio is as great as the website claims? Weird.

Love this studio! Such a great vibe as soon as you walk in, everyone (staff, teachers, & owners) is really friendly and make you feel like a part of their community right away. They have all types of classes & memberships to fit your needs.

The atmosphere created by teachers, the space, and the music is amazing. I walk in and get greeted like a friend, and take a class that honors my body and what it can do, while also pushing my limits. It's warm, but not hot. Sweaty, cathartic, relaxing and uplifting. I leave feeling calmer, stronger, and peaceful.

I'd been practicing yoga for a few years when I started coming to Sutra, but I'd never loved it the way I love it here.

Poorly ran business. Yoga teachers are underpaid and in some instances not compensated at all. Teacher turn around rate is high because management is negligent, non responsive and unreliable. Lacks diversity and boutiques are over priced.

I can't speak for their yoga or other services. Why? Because after purchasing 3Christmas gifts of massage I asked for coupons/cards or at least receipts to be emailed or mailed to me. I did not receive them. Therefore, I could not give them at Christmas time. I call today, the Wed after Christmas, when they should be open, 5 times to both locations hoping someone would answer and send me my gift receipts...no one answered. Not only that, but there was absolutely NO way to leave a voice mail. I'm sorry, but when you run a business take care of the 101 basics first - someone answering the phone when open at all times & if you must leave the phone station...have a damn voice mail set up!

Website looked fantastic, promotions seemed terrific. My problem with this place is when I attempt to contact via phone to ask some questions I am greeted by an automated message with no possibility of talking to an actual human. Regardless of how great the reviews are this inability to talk with a person is a customer service disaster and needs to be addressed.

Welcoming, excellent customer service- these folks went above and beyond! There was a last minute cancellation for a service I booked as part of my pre-flight ritual- thorough no fault of the studio- and although they tried to notify me in advance via my email associated with the mindbody app, it went to junk and I got there ready to go. My disappointment quickly turned to ease when I decided to take a yoga class instead. Let me tell you!!! Serena introduced herself and explained the Central Flow class to me in the most supportive, respectful, and subtly humorous way :) As soon as the music started I knew it was going to be a great class. (I'm pretty sure we have 80% of the same eclectic music on our playlists). I didn't mention to her or anyone at the studio, but I've been teaching yoga for more than 10 years. I've trained in ashtanga, vinyasa, hatha, Forrest and yin yoga and have a Master's degree in exercise physiology). I did tell her about my propensity to self modify when she asked about injuries (props to her for coming over individually to everyone and being discreet and genuinely caring), to which she responded with excitement and encouragement! This is so rare in teachers to find someone willing to lead exaxtly how students need to be led :) She demonstrated moves using class space effectively and went around to help everyone. (There were less than 10 of us). She used simple and open-ended directions, focusing on the intention of the pose rather than an ideal physical posture. It was refreshing to have this space in class to get to the core of each asana- whether it be to stretch your hip or let go of your past hurts, she was great at guiding-leaving room for all of us to move at our own pace and level of difficulty. I just got back from a yoga retreat, and this is the best I've felt in months! Disclaimer: it was what my body needed. More specifically, she set my mind enough at ease so that I could tune in to what what my body needed, and gently encouraged me to find my edge with both English and Sanskrit words, and well-executed assists. The mini massage and gentle pressure on my back and hips when I was in child's pose was perfect. She must have saw me setting up to stretch myself more specifically in my low back, and she came right over- with such loving presence I might add. She guided us through the perfect mix of flowing and held poses, giving special care not to rush us in the transitions, encouraging breathing and consciousness with our movements. This is something I personally appreciate as my previous back and shoulder injuries -and perfectionism- cause me to take extra time and care when transitioning. Another awesome point: though I'm not sure if anyone else appreciates this like I do, but here goes. Stretching and strengthening muscles and joints in the same manner on each side of the body is my jam. So when she assisted me in half moon on one leg and came back at the same point for the second leg... I was just so grateful!! She stood there, supporting and holding me at my edge ... She let ME do the pushing!!! And I haven't even begun to mention the intelligent sequencing she layed down! She has clearly spent some time fine-tuning these sequences as the build up to the arm balances and hip openers was super effective at preparing the body to fly and rest respectively. I bounced and sang to the music, smiled and soaked in her wisdom, and left Midtown Sutra yoga being thankful for all of the teachers who fed into her. Serena's unique approach made it easy to re-ignite my beginner's mind, something important as I seek to keep my ego in check. She held space for me to grow, to listen, and to explore my body in a truly loving, respectful, encouraging and playful way. Y'all need to try her class!!

Walked a couple of miles in the sweltering summer heat only to find the studio shuttered when the online schedule indicated a class should be on. So maybe not the most reliable choice for a traveler.
