This is my daughter’s first year and we absolutely love it. She started in intro to dance and Miss Nicole was amazing. My daughter wanted to try Acro tots since it’s more of what she’s interested in but wanted to keep Miss Nicole as her “teacher”. She works well with my daughter and has patience. She is also so encouraging to her students. Now, we recently started hippity hop with Miss Amanda and she is also fantastic! She has great structure and has fun with her students! I love take five dance I was a dancer a few years back 2019-2021 I believe . it’s has amazing dance teachers and dancers ! The only problem they have is that it smells like feet like straight up feet 😭😭 which I get because most of the dancers wear no shoes to dance don’t really mind that but at least spray like Febreze or something . And then the floors in the classes aren’t the best they a super dirty like I would come out with black feet ! I feel like they should replace the floor they had those floors forever now I’m in high school and I’m a dancer and I do dance in school and our floors is never that dirty like they have it here in this Academy! one of the schools that this Academy performs at they leave my schools dance room a mess they need to take better care of it and also it’s super loud inside so be mindful of that if u or your child doesn’t like noise or big crowds because sometimes it be packed in here ! Like parents just need to drop off their kid and leave because it’s too much people I get it if it was like a recital so they parents can record so the kids and practice at home but other then that they don’t need so munch people in here and it’s a very small building but that’s all ! Hopefully they fix this in the future!

This is a wonderful studio! The teachers and staff are so helpful and friendly.They are also highly skilled! It is obvious they care so much about every child.The facility is large and clean. We just finished our first season and the recital was so well organized, there was so much communication! On top of that, the choreography was incredible, professional quality! Thank you Take Five!

This studio definitely plays favoritism to certain students as we have had our child in her classes for over 4 years and every year we are told the class is already fill. So we went from 3 classes to 2 classes now no classes. I would definitely find another studio this one is not recommended! Beware

Highly recommend! My daughter and I have taken the Mommy & Me Toddler Time class for the past year. It has been the highlight of our week! When I was a little girl, I also danced at Take Five, so it is extra special to share this with my own daughter now.

I’m overwhelmed with emotion as I write this review. My 4-year-old is in Miss Amanda’s Intro to Ballet class, and we recently experienced our first dance recital this December. During her performance, my daughter had a little hiccup, but she stayed on stage and finished her dance.

What truly touched my heart was Miss Amanda’s response. She took the time to handwrite a card for my daughter, expressing how proud she was of her for persevering and staying on stage. In doing so, Miss Amanda not only acknowledged my daughter’s emotions but also gently taught her a valuable lesson about resilience and getting back up when we stumble.

Our family was part of Take Five Dance Studio for over 12 years, and during that time, we experienced both wonderful memories and significant disappointments.

When my daughter first started at the studio, her teacher, Ms. Pam, and the other instructors created a truly uplifting and supportive environment. My daughter loved her classes, and it was clear that the focus was on building confidence and nurturing a genuine love for dance. We looked forward to her performances, and those early years were filled with joy and pride.

As my daughter transitioned into the competitive company, the experience began to change. Ms. Kristin, who is the company director, became more involved with my daughter’s training as she got older and entered the competitive realm. Unfortunately, this shift brought about a different dynamic. Instead of fostering all students equally, favoritism became glaringly apparent. Those considered “favorites” received most of the attention and opportunities, while others, like my daughter, were often overlooked.

Adding to this, during our time at the studio, my husband and I went through a divorce, and he later married one of my daughter’s teachers. This family dynamic caused expectations and pressures on my daughter to shift significantly. Instead of being a place of support, the studio became a source of stress for her. The added pressures, coupled with a lack of sensitivity from leadership, contributed to her losing the passion she once had for dance.

This favoritism isn’t unique to my daughter’s experience. Every year, the studio sees company dancers, many of whom have been there their entire lives, decide to leave because of Ms. Kristin. Despite this recurring issue, the school has done nothing to address the problem or prevent it from happening to other dancers.

Additionally, private studio matters were openly discussed, leading to gossip and tension. It’s disappointing that professionalism and discretion were so often lacking.

It’s heartbreaking to see how much the environment at Take Five changed as my daughter grew older. While the early years were full of encouragement and positivity, the later years left her feeling unsupported, stressed, and ultimately disillusioned with something she once loved so deeply.

To families considering this studio, I encourage you to weigh the experience carefully. While Take Five may provide a great foundation for younger dancers, the pressures and favoritism that come with the competitive side, along with a lack of professionalism, may not align with the supportive, uplifting environment they claim to offer.

This studio is exceptional in every way! All four of my girls take classes here and even two of my boys have enjoyed hip hop classes here as well. My children are not “just another number” and their teachers really invest in their lives on the dance floor and off! They are more like family at this point. So we have been out of class. so I have missed class And I’m the teacher. we are owed make up classes. I was advised ,Now I have to repay for the new season for her to make up classes I paid for already. How does this work. I feel taken advantage of. To many changes to keep up with. This is too much at this point. Not sure if anyone else has paid and now has to repay? I paid for costumes too and this out of every ones hands but they should explain better. This is my first time in dance and from the beginning I was confused. I enrolled in 2 intro classes. We changed it and we love the teachers. But with the times when people are dying and losing jobs I feel like I waisted money. I’m letting her stay for now but it’s unfair I have to pay for make up classes. Concerned.
The discount was $30. She missed the showcase because they say they told me during a zoom meeting. Never heard it never got a call on the 16th like they said. You would think since the showcase was coming they had a costume they would have called a paying customer at least twice. I also called them about it.I would not recommend this place. CDC guidelines are you kidding we all took those precautions you took my money.

This has been an amazing experience for my daughter. There is something here for every size, age, ethnicity, and gender. I have seen so much personal growth in my daughter since she Jazz started eight weeks ago; it's been a world of difference. I recommend that this studio enrolls in cultural and ethnicity training. I recommend that this studio realize that they are not asserting inclusion for all. I recommend that this studio make a conscious effort to do better and to recognize the lack of diversity cultural recognition and understanding they actually have. Just because you have staff and students or family of color does NOT automatically mean that you are conscious and aware of potential racists and discriminatory practices. In this day and age, it is not ok to assume that one size or color fits all. If you want true growth and inclusion, recognize your errors, right your wrongs and commit to doing better for all, not just those who most resemble your physical characteristics. I suggest these recommendations based on what my daughter and I experienced at Take five Dance Academy. Others may have had different experiences. Unfortunately when I tried to voice my concerns, I was met with laughter, indifference and disrespect. I would NEVER again refer recommend anyone seek instruction from this dance studio.
