I really wanted to like this gym as it was recommended to me. However, one of the staff members Preston was incredibly unprofessional and predatory. The first time was in front of my little sister who had came with me the day before. He completely ignored me as the adult and insisted she sign something despite me repeating over and over "what is she signing" "she does not own a phone" "she is a minor". Then, the guy sitting next to him finally stood up to explain what was going on after noticing the ignorance. The second time was when I had to cancel my membership. Calling 2 weeks prior to my move, I called TG and was told someone would get back to me regarding my interest to cancel. Of course, no one got back to me. I decided to go in where I spoke with Preston and told me to email a proof of mail proving I was 25 miles out. He then decided to threaten my credit and I noticed his unprofessional behavior. I decided to walk away and speak to another woman to feel more comfortable. He then stepped in front of us and started controlling. I have emailed TG with proof of address and have yet to receive a response. As someone who has worked in marketing for a while, I don't recommend this gym solely on the staffing and management.

WOW TG recently underwent some improvements! I’ve been a member for about 10 months now and this gym has been amazing for my needs. Huge space; never feels too busy. Tons of specific equipment for bodybuilding as well as functional fitness. The gym itself has a personality now—mostly black equipment to match the brand, cool spray paint feature wall, clean and sharp feel, tons of cardio machines, super friendly staff, and all the trainers are respectful and friendly too. I’ve also really enjoyed the cooler of meals from local meal prep companies. This gym is a hub of the community and I’m really enjoying that they know me by name and I feel like part of this family. Update: The two main workout areas were recently rearranged into more logical groupings. And many of the machines have been given a new coat of black paint. I also notice they’ve lowered the overhead lights a bit now too. Good ideas, nice work.

Best gym in Phx that I’ve found so far. No frills whatsoever, simply a place for people who take their workout seriously.

Good hours, clean, and never what you would say overcrowded. Also, the staff are polite and knowledgeable. They’ve got tons of free weights, all the machines you can think of and some rare ones you don’t see often.

I’ve been a member for 8 months now and it’s certainly helped me get back on the horse. I actually look forward to going to workout here. That’s it!

I'm editing my review due to the fact that the new owners have decided to turn the volume of the music up a volume that makes it impossible to have a conversation and even with my headphones on I cannot hear my own music clearly. Myself as well as several others i members have asked for the music to be lowered but we were told by management that the CEO demands that it be at this level. They don't rectify this issue I will be going to another gym. It's disappointing because it was and still is a good gym but impossible to hear yourself think over the volume of music!

TG Phoenix gym has new management that is ruining this gym's experience for the members. New management has decided that the gym music should be played very loud, mind-numbing, pounding music. And, the music selection is not even good - that has changed, too. Members have complained and the new management does not care and and will not lower the volume level. It just sucks. The level of the music in the Women's Locker room is even louder. You cannot hold a conversation with anyone. It is annoying and not what I go to the gym for. Since the new management has come in, I have left the gym with a headache more often than not, which is not normal. This has to be the dumbest hills to die on in regards to running a business - volume of music in the gym. Most people listen to their own music with their own headphones/AirPods. I used those recently on the stairclimber and it was hard to hear my own music over the gym music. After 3-4 weeks of this with no change, I am now looking for a different gym to be a member of. You ruined a perfectly great gym with your ridiculous management decisions. Good luck.

Update (8/20) [3 Stars] Were at 62-70 decibels, perfect volume; I can talk, I can put my music in if I want, and the music got good again, seems like it's the original playlist.
Must have been a rough transition period for the new management, but I'm glad they aren't bulldozing the personality and listening to the people.
I admire the flags; the state and other flags should be lowered or American raised to respect the American flag, but I appreciate their presence either way.

Update (8/18) [2 Stars] Music is still hovering at 73 decibels under the speakers, so we're not far from ear-damage volume, but it got turned down, and I can think now, and I can think about how bland the music got, from varying rock, pop, clean rap to now cheap, repetitive pop-rap with no soul or character.
WORST YET! No Bible or prayer box anymore. You don't have to be a forwardly/actively Christian, but being available meant so much to me. Please don't become a cookie-cutter gym; I really like this place.

I’ve been training with Coach Ben since December last year, and I can honestly say he’s one of the best trainers I’ve ever worked with. He’s knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely cares about helping you reach your goals. I’m really grateful to the gym for introducing me to him.

The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, with a great atmosphere that makes you want to show up and put in the work. The staff are professional and friendly—Preston, in particular, always greets you with a warm welcome and runs things in a very professional way.

I just joined and I love the atmosphere. Clean, plenty of equipment including designated areas for certain muscle groups. I mostly love that TG is grounded in faith. After a loss and isolation from God, He’s been calling me back in. I had no idea TG offers prayer requests, daily prayer at 1:00 pm for members and non members as well as bible studies. Truly a God thing I joined.

Came here while I was in town for a couple days. Place is awesome, they have a ton of equipment, sauna, everything you’d need. Everything is sectioned by what part of the body you want to work out which I think is pretty cool. Staff was great and welcoming, overall environment is great. If just getting to the gym is good enough for you then you will not fit in at TG. However, if you are truly serious about getting into better shape then you need to surround yourself with others who are equally motivated.
You also need the specialized equipment, and experts available for both advice and motivation.
The Gym is the first place I’ve found in a very long time that is dedicated to people who actually want to get better and its the only one in the PV, N Phoenix area for sure!

TG beats them all! In all Honesty, out of the 7 gyms I’ve been since the beginning of my journey TG, The Gym is #1 and checks all my boxes. I find myself telling everyone about this gym, whether it even be continently located to them or not.. high respect for this place. The team, the crowd, the vibe, the equipment I love it. Not to mention it’s never busy, and if it’s ever a busier time I’m still not having to wait around I can easily moderate my lifts with what’s open. This is one of the best places to train. Welcoming staff who care and train themselves. All kinds of goal oriented people train here from Pro body builders to lifestyle people. I’ve been a member here for a long time, but after a recent experience, I can no longer recommend TG. One of the staff members, Preston, was not only rude to my wife but also displayed unprofessional and derogatory behavior. Several other members have canceled their memberships as a result, yet instead of addressing the issue, the owner chose to promote Preston. It's disappointing to see that a business would tolerate this kind of behavior. Unfortunately, I will be taking my membership elsewhere.

I've been an avid gym goer for a decade now and TG is up there with some of the best gyms I have ever been to and is more affordable than most commercial chains.

The staff and the members are all very friendly and respectful which provides a great community for people trying to improve their fitness lives together.

The equipment is top notch! I used to have multiple memberships so I could get a taste of old school body building equipment and also enjoy the perks of the modern equipment but TG has it all and is continuing to expand it's equipment!  + the lighting is optimal for the right aesthetics 💪

There's also so much real estate in The Gym so I'm never stuck waiting on machines; even during rush hours. Let me repeat that, "I NEVER HAVE TO WAIT FOR A MACHINE IN THIS GYM!!" Hallelujah!

Lastly, the custodian is top notch. He is always working to keep the space impeccably clean and truly embodies the hard working mindset that we should all aspire to. Homie deserves a raise!!!🙌

I wanted to like this place. communication was quite annoying. weird impromptu justification without consent seemed heavy handed, and out of character for an upright small business.
The good... the first guy I talked to last year (may have been brandon or joshua) indicated that he was a part owner, and was quite friendly and professional. Richard at the gym always seemed to have something uplifting to say. thanks, too bad it didnt work out. Hopefully they can train and keep some good help in the future.

And can we talk location? Prime real estate. Convenient, accessible, and enough space to spread out and get to work without feeling like you’re in some claustrophobic gym dungeon.

In short, TG The Gym is where you go to lift heavy, sweat hard, and feel like a superhero in the making—minus the spandex. It’s a no-frills, all-thrills kinda place. If you’re into that, stop reading this and get yourself there.

Terrible business practices. They left a flyer on my car while I was at my gym and it MELTED to my windshield in the hot AZ heat. I've tried to cancel my membership multiple times because I moved over 25 miles away. I called, and the lady at the desk said I had to come in to cancel my membership, and so I did. I get there, and then I'm told I have to do it through the website. Website has nothing, so then I'm told to email them so I do. There is no response to any of my emails. It shouldn't be this hard to cancel a membership, and your employees should know what they are talking about. This place is a very big scam, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because if you're in a bad financial situation, they don't care to help you cancel your membership. The fact that the only way to cancel is through the owner is total BS. If your employees are able to sign you up and take your card information, it shouldn't be that hard for them to cancel it themselves as well. Guess what? I still haven't gotten my membership canceled, and they are still charging me.

The gym States when you work out for the first time to try it out, you should get a free tryout that’s what I was told and I bring many friends. As soon as I walked in I was received by friendly staff at the front desk, the facility is very clean and it has a very open floor plan which is nice. The variety of machines to use is refreshing and I love the extra large sauna. If you’re a local I would definitely take advantage of this gem

Here visiting and always looking for a good place to workout. Definitely found it here at The Gym! I usually can't find a gym that compares with the one at home but this one exceeds it. Tons of great equipment and lots of space. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere for a workout of any kind. I HIGHLY recommend The Gym!

I visited TG in Phoenix this morning at 5 AM. I was met with a smile and such hospitality. I was feeling frustrated because I had gone to my regular gym, VASA, but it did not open on time. And, because this has happened before, with Vasa, I was eager to try somewhere new! So instead of driving home disappointed that I missed a Workout, I pulled into TG’s parking lot. Grateful I did!! I absolutely love the vibe. Christ centered, positive, friendly, more than enough equipment, and space! Thank you so much for the experience, TG Phoenix!!

Great energy and vibe! Lots of equipment to use and I love the specific rooms for power lifting, glutes/legs and weight lifting 🏋️. Large space and super friendly staff where they all know your name! It’s like Cheers but a gym 😊

Joined TG Phoenix about a month ago. Very clean and spacious. Some great old school pieces of equipment not found at other commercial gyms. Joined in part because during the week they open at 4am EXCEPT the four times since joining I show up between 4-4:30am and the gym is NOT open.

Working out while 20yr old boys with their shirts off flex and pose like they’re Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler is a bit annoying and ridiculous but provides a little humor every morning. Everybody trying to be somebody on social media these days lol

That’s the reason for two star versus perhaps a I naught have given a four star - hard to use the equipment, space, and enjoy the cleanliness when it’s not OPEN when it is supposed to be. When TG is open…I do enjoy working out there and it’s a relatively good vibe in the mornings.

TG The Gym is an inviting place to get a great work out done with ease. The staff is second to none. I was absent for the gym for 6 weeks recently due to a back injury and received a friendly check in call from the staff. They called to make sure I was doing okay and if I had any questions about the gym. They are so caring and even offered a free personal training session to help me get back into the groove of working out. I couldn't believe it.

I wouldn't trade this gym experience for another. Thanks TG for everything.

Great gym! We had a large group of ~50 and they were super accommodating. There's a ton of equipment to where we could bring in a large group and not even impact the regulars. They have a great selection of drinks and supplements too.

What a place. Was here for a lifting camp & accommodated 50 of us over two days with incredibly helpful staff, super clean facilities and enough equipment for any goal. The only downside is I’m back in Ireland, and the DOMs are very real 😅

I was nervous about trying a higher quality gym and upon arrival I was immediately greeted by Jacob. He was really friendly and walked me throughout the gym, explaining all different kinds of equipment and exercises. This gym is extremely clean. It has every piece of equipment you’ll need and then some. The atmosphere is perfect for any type of person. Definitely my new gym.

Just joined the "The Gym" a few weeks ago. This is the perfect gym for the serious fitness enthusiast. If you're into bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc this place is awesome. I myself am very specific when it comes to right equipment for bodybuilding and this gym keeps getting amazing pieces of equipment.

I also like the huge stretching area for warming up as I do mobility work prior to training. It's a great vibe here and while I usually listen to my own music, I appreciate the uplifting music they play here.

This gym hasn't been super busy which is a huge bonus compared to a lot of your corporate gyms (EOS, Mountainside, etc).

Last, the staff here is super friendly and engaging to the members. Feels like a family atmosphere here which is awesome. I've been more than happy to help spread the word of this gym to friends and my social media.

A++++ Let's start from the beginning. The young man who signed me up, Reed had A plus customer service. It was his first day, and you couldn't tell based on his personality. The facilities are clean, pristine even. Wide variety of machines, well laid out. Locker room is very clean, and I actually feel like I could take a shower and here without losing my toe.
And the staff will actually help you if you cannot find something. I really love this boutique gym, and I love how the owners are people of faith, such as myself.
I am super happy that I took the leap, to join this gym and I'm looking forward to growing a community here. What a great job with this facility.

During the 20+ years I’ve been working out, there have only been a select few gyms that have had a reputable impression upon the initial tour- The Gym aka TG being one of them! From the high ceilings, top-notch flooring, exceptional cleanliness, and spacious floor plan to the friendly staff & members, accessible parking, and wide variety of equipment that caters to bodybuilders, cross fitters, performance athletes, spinners, and the average gym-goer, TG is certainly top-ranked in my opinion. Plus, their rates (for members AND trainers) are unmatched!
