I worked with Tommy for nutrition coaching for six months this year and had a great experience. We started with a reverse diet and then pivoted to fat loss. Tommy is awesome, I thoroughly appreciate my experience and what I learned with his Meal program. He is attentive to my goals, and every week he would evaluate my progress, my goals, and any issues/ questions I was having along the way. I am an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. Man oh man not enough good things I can say about Tommy at the BodyShop. He is super professional & sets clear expectations of what’s need to see the success I was looking for. I did 3 days a week & diet plan. Hit goal weight for a few vacations I had summer 2024. My favorite thing about his training style is that it’s sustainable for the long term. Not constantly being at a calorie deficit starving myself to get to my goals was such a different way of training.

I had the pleasure with working with Tommy since January 2024. Best part of about Tommy and his program is that it is completely tailored to your needs and your lifestyle. I have had programs before that I have spent a lot of money on, and the next person that signed up had the same exact program. Tommy will tailor your program based off of your needs. I travel a lot for work and have outings on a regularly basis, Tommy gave me the tools and knowledge of knowing what I should be eating and what to cut out during the day in order to stay on track. I had the opportunity to work with Tommy from February 2024 - September 2024.
I have a lot of health issues, including an autoimmune disease. As a result, I had a lot of inflammation in my stomach. Tommy took each one of my health issues into consideration when creating a nutrition plan for me.
With his guidance, I made leaps and bounds in listening to my body, improving my eating habits, as well as making choices that were right for my body and all of its chaoticness. And to boot, I've lost 20 lbs and feel a lot more confident in my body!

I was struggling with how to shed weight the healthy way and was frustrated trying to do so on my own. Luckily my friend referred me to Tommy and from the first phone call discussing my goals I could tell he understood. The way Tommy broke down each phase of the diet and what we were trying to accomplish made things very easy to understand. Watching my body composition change during the reverse phase had me hooked. Eating more but having my body change in a positive way was very cool. I really appreciated my time with Tommy and his open line of communication that there always was. If you're looking for a lifestyle diet (which I was doing) I highly recommend. He's very knowledgeable and customizes meal plans to your liking. Having different meals to choose from on days you're training and days you're not keeps things from getting mundane in my opinion.

Tommy is an amazing coach! I have been working with Tommy for almost the past 2 years. My goals were to lose weight and gain muscle. When I reached out to Tommy at the start I was overtraining and under eating. Tommy put me on a reverse diet and had me eat more to lose more. My simple brain couldn't process this theory, but I lost more weight over the next 4 months by slowly eating more than I had in the 4 months prior. He cycled me through phases of reverse diets and caloric restrictions and I lost over 45lbs of fat and put on over 25lbs of muscle (confirmed with DEXA scans) over the course of 22months. Tommy has rewired my "diet brain" and put me on a healthy path. If you are on a fitness journey and are questioning if you are going about it right or you have hit "the wall" I urge you to reach out to Tommy for a consultation. I could not recommend him more.

Working with Lauren has been absolutely life changing. It has been 9 months and I have lost 41 lbs and feel like I’ve gotten my life back!! Well deserving of a 5 star rating. The team here is great, friendly environment, and a clean setting. I worked with Tommy and he is very knowledgeable, professional, and sociable. The in-studio training sessions did not feel rushed, and Tommy was very effective with cues to improve form and function of each exercise. Each in-studio session included a variety of exercises with detailed instructions rather than just the same monotonous movements. The nutrition aspect of our training program allowed me to not feel restricted, and actually enjoy food. Tommy was phenomenal and the other coaches are also top tier. Working with Erik has been amazing! I just had my last weekly check in with him and am officially on my own to maintain my weight. I worked with Erik for a year and can't recommend him enough (I started when I was 6 months postpartum). I loved that Erik was very transparent about the process from the start - his goal was to help me reach my goals and give me the tools to succeed on my own. It was never about keeping me as a client forever...although part of me wants to work with him forever!
Throughout the past year, I have not only surpassed the physical goals I set for myself, but the real value of working with Erik is what I learned from him. I have embraced eating so much more food and not being afraid of it. After years of eating too little, my body feels fueled and strong, and I no longer obsess about food and how I should be eating. I have indulgences and enjoy them, and not let it stress me out or derail my progress. I've learned how to truly be consistent.

Erik is amazing and I can't thank him enough for helping me get back on track I had lost myself there for a while when I got really sick and was diagnosed with lupus many times I felt like quitting due to my flare ups and just not feeling well but never did Erik give up on me but rather encourage me to pull through not only did I loose weight but through Erik's meal plans I learned how to eat and what to eat due to my lupus and maintained a healthy weight which equaled less flare ups. My quality of life improved volumes and now I'm living again not just surviving and for a person with lupus that speaks volumes. Hands down one of the best & realest nutrition coaches/trainers I have ever worked with. This industry is populated with people who think they know what nutrition and macro-nutrient meal plans are all about, so it is hard to find someone like Erik who knows what they are talking about. Erik is extremely educated, knowledgeable, and he's a great accountability coach if that is what you are looking for.
His meal plans are designed around what YOU like. You will not waste your money,and you will not waste your time working with him. What you will gain is confidence in yourself, knowledge about the foods that your body likes/doesn't like, and over time train your body to enjoy those splurges but not feel guilty and not keep the pounds on.

I highly recommend Erik and The Body Shop Gilbert. After trial and error with diets and workout plans for years, I got Erik’s name from another client and reached out. I had a goal to lose 25-30 pounds before my son graduated college and we went to Europe so that I might actually agree to be in some pictures and feel better about myself. I was highly skeptical because it just seemed like losing weight was not possible for me. I signed up for both the nutrition support as well as personal training sessions. The meal plans are easy to follow, and to understand, and Erik always makes himself available for questions/support. He is also encouraging and supportive during workout sessions and works to push you to what you can do and caters to any physical limitations that you may have. I am down over 40 pounds now, but most importantly have a healthier relationship with food, have overcome several health issues (that apparently were food related) and feel better than I have in years. I can honestly say that I could not have done this without Erik's guidance and support.... and can't wait to see how much further I can go.

I found them online doing some research about nutrition. 4 years ago I was 260 pounds got down to 210 but I couldn't lose anymore. After starting with Eric I was down 7 pounds within 2 weeks. Losing weight is only half the battle. The other half is keeping it off. I had lost 36 pounds and was eating 500 calories/day when I hired Erik. Best choice made to invest in myself. With the help of Eric we got things right on track. There was such a significant difference in when I was on track compared to when I wasn’t. I’ve tried several diets, which included diet pills, eating “healthy,” going to the gym and nothing seemed to work. I have even tried Herbalife and I failed because it wasn’t what I liked and who just wants to drink shakes everyday, all day. Until I was referred to Erik by a trusting friend. I’m not going to lie I was iffy about it but there I was in desperate need and wanted literally wanted to give this a shot. He went over plans and foods that I literally loved and wasn’t bored with my foods. If I ever wanted to tweak my meals, Erik was always available. When I first started with Eric, I weighed 225.5 and in the 3 months I dropped down to 191. Total of 34.5lbs and it was all because of Erik! Erik has been such a great Coach! I came to him when I was interested in macro dieting but didn’t know how to do it on my own. I needed someone to just take the confusion from me and give me a plan. He does all the work! I tell him what foods I want added and he makes it all work! He lets me choose the type of exercise and how long I’ll want to exercise. He’s not judgmental if you haven’t had a good week. He doesn’t give you fish/chicken and broccoli at every meal! I have been working with Erik for about a 1 1/2 now all the way from South Dakota!! I wasnt looking to lose a lot of weight but wanted to get more toned and muscle on my body. I was eating maybe 1200 calories a day and doing cardio twice a day along with other workouts and just maintaining and not noticing any difference to my body! Erik taught me that I can eat the foods i enjoy without thinking i need to do cardio twice a day because I ate a cheeseburger!! I have seen huge changes in my body and my confidence. I met Erik when I had a horrible relationship with food . I was on a cookie cutter plan where I was only eating chicken, rice and asparagus. I have known Erik for some time now. I first started meal planning/working out with Erik when my brother gifted me this service. I was going through a lot of anxiety and panic attacks during this time and my brother (sweetest guy ever) thought this would help me resolve this issue - naturally and at the same time make me feel good and look good! After a couple months with Erik I started shedding all the extra weight and my body was toning up a lot, I felt and looked good. I’ve been working with The Body Shop’s online nutrion program for 5 months to help me reset my eating overall and to get my nutrition on point while I trained for a marathon. This is the strongest I’ve ever been going into a race and food/fuel is the heart of it. I’ve had energy and strength for all my hard workouts and I’ve lost 12 pounds! Erik was recommended by my husband’s cousin. We were trying the Keto diet and not liking how we felt. I lost some weight but this is not a lifestyle I wanted to maintain. I have been working with Erik Young for 4 years and Tom Jeffree for 2 years. Both Tom and Erik are the most humble, educated, attentive and caring trainers I have been to and I wouldn’t consider going to any other trainer. Not to mention, their studio is awesome!
When I first started training with Erik 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. I became highly reactionary to food and would experience 6+ lbs of water weight (edema) over night, sometimes even within a few hours. Not once did Erik make me feel like I wasn’t “doing what I was supposed” to or question me if I was “sticking to my plan” when my weekly weigh-ins were increasing. Just the opposite, Erik talked me off the ledge several times reminding me I was doing everything I possibly could. He kept reminding me it was water weight and explained how many calories I would have to consume to gain 6+ lbs in 24 hours.....a LOT!!! This helped me out in a very emotional and physically difficult time.
I started working with Tom a couple years ago after my first car accident to help re-build strength my body after a car accident. Tom’s expertise in the exercise science & the human body made me feel confident and safe that the exercises he would have me perform would not compromise the injured areas. I was able to re-build strength and get pretty much back to normal. Unfortunately, a year and a half later, I was rear-ended again. So I am working with Tom again to get my body stronger and more stable. Tom, like Erik, also is aware of the ups and downs I have with my autoimmune condition and never makes me feel bad if my weight fluctuates.
I love that I can go to either Erik or Tom and get the same level of knowledge, service and care!

So! I didn't think this was real - I was very negative in the beginning wavering on whether or not I should eat more. I mean, I know my body right. I have had a LIFE CHANGING experience with Erik. Having accomplished so much in so many other areas of my life I knew I had the potential to get my physical state back on track, but for a variety of reasons I struggled. That is until I learned about Erik and The Body Shop Gilbert.
I was in search of a REAL solution that would work, not just for the short term but something I could do for the rest of my life. I was skeptical of diets because most people I had encountered dieted for a week or two, lost a little bit of weight but inevitably put it right back on (and sometimes even more). I also didn't have the time to be able to spend hours a day at the gym. I knew moderation of both diet and exercise would be the most sustainable way to approach getting back to the "me" I could recognize in the mirror. I needed help understanding how to strike that balance and Erik did exactly that.

I worked with Erik and Alicia after my first bikini comp. when I was looking to move to figure. I had been working with a coach who had put me on the classic "bro diet" and I was very restricted on the foods that I was able to eat. After months of this with no planned cheat meals, I began to cheat and eat everything in sight. Needless to say I was not able to get nearly lean enough to even think about getting on stage again. I had been following Alicia on IG and loved the idea of being able to lose weight while eating the foods that I enjoyed. I contacted Erik and immediately felt comfortable with him. I signed up the next day! I received 2 sample meal plans and the various foods that I was able to eat was awesome...TACOS! Erik taught me how to count and track my macros and enjoy food again without fearing the dreaded C word again..Carbs! On the workout front ALicia was great! Since I am in MD and she is in AZ she had me tell her what equipment I had available and made a custom workout based around that. Phew! Where do I start! I was recommend to Erik by a friend who he meal planned for during their competition. I had been tracking with Weight Watchers for over 6 months and I had plateaued (135 is where my body loves to sit), though I was constantly hungry. Erik slowly increased my foods, so I wouldn't gain weight in the process. By the end of my increase I was pretty much eating double the calories I was eating on Weight Watchers and I weighed the same! And wasn't hungry! My personal goal was to be in the best health I could before pregnancy. I started with him in February and he reversed dieted me until April. We had a trip to Hawaii in May and he helped me cut before that. I felt great in a bikini! Well, I got pregnant in Hawaii and he then helped me track my foods so I didn't turn into KimK pregnant. I stopped tracking around 6/7 months pregnant.
I started with him weighing 135, dropped down to 129 (it doesn't sound like a lot, but I am 5'1 and 6 pounds makes a huge difference on me) easily and wasn't starving, heaviest pregnant 161, 3 months post pregnancy 142. I am super happy with only 7 pounds gained from my normal baseline weight post pregnancy. I am breastfeeding right now, but thinking about starting to track again and get healthy for my baby!
I wonder if getting pregnant would have been so easy if I hadn't been taking care of myself. I for sure know without his support I would have ballooned during pregnancy and not be motivated right now! During the whole process I didn't do very much cardio because that messes with your carbohydrate intake. I did Pilates 5-6 times/week and lifted at the gym occasionally.

Erik is an excellent nutrition coach. He guides you through the process of building your meal plans and implementing the foods you love. When I first came to him I was over weight and had a calorie intake that was 1200/day going nowhere. He helped me balance foods that I love and gave me more to eat! He took me from 208lbs at 1200 calories a day to 178lbs eating 1600 calories a day! He is always there to motivate you, checks up with you weekly and is available daily for questions. He truly is a life saver.

I worked with Erik for over a year. He had to teach me how to eat properly. I was one of those people that thought if I starved myself, I would lose weight. Completely wrong cause the less I eat, the more I struggled. Erik had me reverse dieting.
I gave him a list of "must haves" in my daily eating and he worked them in plus some.
Erik checked in with me weekly and was available anytime I had a question in between check in's. More importantly, he encouraged when I got discouraged.

Before Erik I had tried many different "diets" Sometimes I lost a few pounds here and there. Most of the time I'd gain it back right away. I was never happy. A friend told me about Erik and I was a little skeptical at first but I figured "Why not give him a chance?" So I did. Best decision I've ever made!!! OptimizeU has changed my life. Prior to starting with Coach Erik I had the most unhealthy relationship with food. It seemed as though I had tried every diet: low/no carb, juicing, intermittent fasting, Paleo, all without success. In fact, most of these diets did just the opposite, and made me gain weight while restricting myself.
About a year and a half ago, I received Erik’s number from a friend and called him. As I was listened to him explain that I would be able to consume the foods I enjoyed eating while losing weight and leaning up, I will admit, I was skeptical. However, I am always game to try something new.
Coach Erik sent me my macro plan and after the first week of dropping a few pounds while eating what I liked and not being hungry, I was hooked. It was almost too good to be true. Sure it took some getting used to incorporating the foods that I had deemed “bad” (carbs) back in my diet. As the weeks rolled on, the pounds began to melt off and my six pack emerged while eating the most I had ever consumed (300 plus grams of carbs). Everyone around me was noticing the results too! For the first time in my life I was seeing the results I expected for the active lifestyle I lived and wasn’t depriving myself of any of the foods I loved. There would be days where I ate cookies at lunch and still stayed in my macros☺
It has been a year and a half that I have worked with Erik and he is awesome! I had surgery over the holidays and could not work out for months, so I relapsed a little, but Coach Erik got me back on track and leaner than ever.
