I’m going into my 5th week of personal training with Sam. This is my first time of training and I would recommend to anyone who needs a fresh start, hasn’t been working out, is a senior, or just needs that boost to get fit. I plan on continuing my personal fitness and joining the gym after my 6th week of personal training with Sam. Great place to join.

Sleds (multiple), rings (multiple), stall bars if you can believe it, and every other tool you could come up with. If you want muscle to use instead of just carry around, I'd argue they're the only game in town. Plus Danny and his wife are the bee's knees.

I was a member from June 2023 until June 2025 when I moved out of Arizona. Hands down the best gym in Tucson and one of the best gyms I've been to, period. Besides having everything you could possibly need in the gym, the staff and other members are extremely kind and welcoming.

I have been coming to this gym for over 6 years now and I can honestly say I will never leave. The community that Danny has built and people he has in is corner make coming to the gym more than just working out. Catching up with friends, random conversations with new people, helping one another, pushing each other to be better. I could not of asked for a better gym to stumble upon. Every day Danny works to get better quality equipment and amenities, creating the best possible training environment for all types and sizes. I recommend this place to everyone 11/10 times and that will never change. I love Tucson Strength and everything that comes with it.

Tucson Strength is the best gym in Tucson. I’m greeted by name every time I walk in and the community is second to none. A few of my friends even drive across town just to train here because it is worth it. It is a true powerlifting gym with top-tier equipment, but there is also everything you need for hypertrophy and muscle building. The membership costs more than a big-box gym, but it is absolutely worth it for the quality, atmosphere, and results.

I used a day pass while I was visiting town and had a great experience. The owner and staff were friendly and welcoming and the energy was great. The members were friendly and the gym was buzzing with people supporting each other, joking around, and having an overall great time. They have a wide range of high quality, excellently maintained equipment, a ton of platforms and racks, a functional training area, an outdoor area and cardio machines.
Tucson Strength is a great gym!

I love that you can get a" private " gym feeling with out insane fees.
The classes are amazing, so many different types of classes that provide different quantities for everyone. I have lots of pain and old injuries and I feel blessed to have Tucson Strength help me get thru my weight loss goals.

10000/10. Danny truly made the BEST gym in Tucson. The community in there is so so welcoming, it really feels like family. The facility is clean with some of the best equipment you can get your hands on. The variety of equipment is perfect for anyone at any fitness level. The trainers are incredible and so friendly. You won’t find a better facility, so happy I got to call Tucson Strength my home for almost 3 years❤️

I visited Tucson Strength a few weeks ago while in Tucson, and if you're ever there, it's worth checking out! It's a very home-y feeling, everyone working there is very kind and hospitable. They have plenty of equipment, especially for Powerlifting and Olympic lifting as well. Danny, the owner, was very welcoming to us, and made sure to approve us in person while we were there. I'd definitely come back!!

Best gym I’ve dropped into in Tucson for weightlifting/functional fitness. Tons of racks, dumbbells, machines and turf. Also has an outdoor section. While it has a few assault bikes, rowers and treadmills, probably not the spot for you if you’re looking to hit an elliptical. People of all ages, extremely welcoming and no lines for anything when I went at 4pm on a Monday. Only negative thing I can think of is limited hours for those looking to drop in.

Great Gym! Visited while in town on a guest pass. They offer use of the gym if you buy a T-Shirt or you can also purchase a day pass. They have a nice selection of apparel to choose from. This Gym has everything you need for powerlifting, body building and overall fitness. Staff is friendly and the facility is updated and maintained. Great selection of racks, machines, indoor, and outdoor options. Locals are lucky to have such a quality gym. Strongly recommend!

This gym is absolutely amazing! The community is comprised of the most genuine, kind people. From the minute you walk in, you know this is not just another gym. This place is special. It is always clean and safe and you don’t get any of the attitude I’ve seen at other gyms in AZ and CA. Danny has created a gym with the biggest heart. They are always finding ways to serve and help others. They have made a tremendous impact tangibly helping the rescue dogs within our organization and across Southern Arizona and each year, they come together to help families in need at Christmas in extraordinary fashion. I’ve noticed that at Tucson Strength you can just go work out… you will find everything you need in their indoor and outdoor gym areas, just get it done. Or you can go work out and become part of their family, which these days is a treasure. Either way, Tucson Strength is literally strengthening Tucson and I’m so thankful for this gym and its incredible people. Top shelf. Ten stars.

I have been consistently working out at Tucson Strength for over a year now and it is wonderful. Very personable staff and owner. It truly is a judgement-free zone regardless of what time you come. Plus they have great hours to accommodate everyone’s schedules. You can come anywhere between 4:30 AM or 10:00 PM and the crowds are just as friendly and helpful/supportive. My entire family works out at Tucson Strength. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Tucson Strength to anyone, regardless of their fitness level or goals.

Tucson Strength has been my home for the past year. I've been sort of displaced with CrossFit boxes in the Tucson area, and the gym had everything I needed to do my own programming. The best part about this gym is definitely the incredibly friendly staff and coaches. One time I asked the gym owner, Danny, the distance around their outdoor tent in meters so I could do my running workout accurately. He spent almost 10 minutes figuring it out for me. Does your gym owner do that? I don't think so. I also did a personal training session with Anthony for help on gymnastics work and he is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me improve my body weight strength.

Also, when you sign up for a membership at Tucson Strength, the staff will get to know your face and your name. They say hello to you when you walk in the door. There's truly no other gym like it.

The only reason I'm leaving Tucson Strength is because I missed having a traditional CrossFit box. But, dang, am I ever going to miss this gym.

Expensive and worth it. The community is hardworking and into their workouts, often times you can feel the intensity of the gym and it really gets you ready to work out. It's not a big gym but has all the important machines and if you're comfortable around weights this place will work great for you. Also has a smaller outside gym which in the summer is rough but is completely kitted with equipment. So far really happy with my sessions here.

Hands down the best gym I’ve ever belonged to, with the most down-to-earth and knowledgeable owner and staff I could hope to encounter.

I came across Danny and Tucson Strength several years ago when looking for an intelligent and well-versed trainer when my daughter needed to build strength after suffering an ACL tear. Danny’s knowledge of functional movement and individual attention to my daughter made him stand out far above all the other trainers I spoke with. He and his staff understand that every body is different, so the attention to the unique characteristics of every body and personal goals - it is not a cookie cutter place where people just throw weights around in order to look good.

After Danny worked with my daughter, I was impressed enough that I came back with a friend and began one-on-one personal training with Christian. We have stuck with this for over a year now, three times a week, and I cannot express my appreciation enough for the intelligence and personalization Christian brings to the workouts- but also a great personality that makes this 50-something woman feel at ease even though I am clearly not the “gym bro type”. There are lots of guys who work out here, too, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve never felt out of place nor confronted with women wearing heavy makeup and preening in the mirrors like I have been at other gyms.

There is a huge range of clientele in terms of men and women of all ages- from younger teens to retired people, from people who compete in power lifting competitions to those stepping into the gym for the first time ever. What is astounding is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON is put at ease and is treated with respect and professionalism, both from staff and from every other member I’ve ever encountered.

I personally had experience in lots of different kinds of gyms in my lifetime. I have played sports, done CrossFit, run marathons and worked out by myself and with trainers. My friend and workout partner had never lifted a weight before in her life before setting foot in Tucson Strength. For both of us, the gym and our workouts there with Christian are often the best parts of our week. We leave feeling positive and stronger, and never embarrassed or that we didn’t belong.

Thank you, Danny, for putting together and running a fantastic place for people to work out. And thank you, Christian, for challenging us and making us stronger and more knowledgeable about our bodies, and somehow still allowing us to have fun while doing it. I cannot recommend a gym or trainer more highly.

When I first moved to Tucson, I wanted a gym that reminded me of home. My last gym was family owned and ran, loaded with classic old school lifting equipment and no AC! Members were treated like family and I’ve found that here at Tucson Strength. I’ve been spoiled so much with the powerlifting equipment TS has that when I workout at other gyms I am greatly disappointed/underwhelmed. I appreciate the fact that Danny is always seeking to improve his gym whether it’s new equipment, new services (ready to eat me prep, nutrition coaching, sports recovery room) or new systems to make checking in after hours easier/convenient. The coaches are all so amazing. I look forward every day after work to see each of them. They always have a smile on their face and greet you when entering or leaving. Front desk staff are super welcoming and helpful with everything. I really really love this place. It’s so special ❤️

I'm not a regular, but was allowed to buy a pass today to test my maxes. The only thing preventing me from becoming a member is that the air force gym is free and closer. With that aside..

- Very clean, new and diverse equipment available. Plenty of racks, benches, and deadlift platforms. SSBs, squat bars (55lbs), Deadlift bars, hex bars, camber bars, Oly equipment, indoor turf for conditioning, and round metal plates. If you're a powerlifter, this is the gym.

- affordable. Also the options for a day pass were either pay for the pass, or purchase a shirt instead. That was a no brainer, so we bought two shirts!

- staff/owners are clearly lifters themselves, reasonable and knowledgeable.

- great hours and location, open early until late at night. They also offer prepped meals inside, although I didn't try any.

- accessible to elite athletes and novice lifters. They host lifting programming classes including/up to a peak and mock meet. New lifters can feel comfortable learning in this environment. At the same time, I saw a guy deadlift about 700lbs for reps.

No complaints at all! Again, I'd register if logistically it made sense to me, due to money and travel time, it simply does not (for now!) I'll come back for mock meets as long as I am welcome.

Friendly environment. Lindsey at the front desk was a sweetheart. I won’t go into detail, but the staff went above and beyond what they had to for my friend and I.

The gym comes equipped with Olympic lifting platforms with a plethora of plates and barbells. I know this place is serious because their plates were in kilos going down to 0.5kg. It also looked like they had powerlifting equipment and a turf area for metcons and sled pulls.

I’ve been driving across the US the past couple of months and I’d rate this gym among the highest for its atmosphere, equipment and staff. The drop in fee was 15 dollars- highly worth and would definitely come again.

TL;DR: This place is amazing and you want to work out here.

This place is the best. It is hands down the best gym I've ever been apart of (and I've been apart of many). From personal training to the barbell club to open gym--I have everything good to say about Tucson Strength. The trainers here are knowledgeable and kind and provide a ton of support--even if you're not their client. The personal training is actually worth the cost--it's effective and educational. Everyone is so friendly--the staff and the members. People learn and remember your name. They remember what's going on with you and they ask how you're doing. The owner Danny is just a remarkable human and has helped me so much over the last couple years. He's generous with his time and knowledge and also hilarious. I've struggled with consistency and he just keeps trudging with me to figure out what's best for me and what I need. I'm so grateful for that. The gym is always clean when I'm there, there's lots of equipment (esp. stuff you don't see at other gyms) and space...the turf area is great for pushing sleds and stretching and it's large enough that I don't feel like I'm on top of other people to stretch comfortably. The outdoor area is dope too and even though I rarely use it, I like having the option. Tucson Sports Recovery also has a space in the gym and they've helped me a ton. Massages and dry needling have helped keep me functioning well. Shout out Noah/Graham/Jody--y'all are great. 5 stars for you guys too. The biggest thing for me at Tucson Strength I think is..it's safe. I feel safe there and I feel welcomed there and I feel like people care and that's not something I can say for all the other gyms I've been to.
A+, two thumbs up, double high fives--Tucson Strength, you're killin' it.

Over the phone and in person, Selma was very welcoming, supportive and caring with communicating with me. It was my first time there and I felt very comfortable and appreciated. My 2nd day further stengthened and supported my comfort and confidence because us members were given the opportunity to attend a workshop that was to help guide us in our training and set us up with a vision and direction of how we could get stronger over time. The class was very informative, the information was up-to-date. The owner Danny gave very good and foundational knowledge that was presented clear enough to make perfect sense to me. Being my first couple of visits, and coming from an LGBTQ community myself, on top of being all by myself, i definitely feel right at home in a professional, safe and caring space. Very comfortable, supportive and motivating environment for improving my fitness desires and needs. Becky at the front desk was very welcoming and communicative with me also. I absolutely love how there's educational opportunities involved for members. To me, its definitely a valuable place for learning, building strength and building healthy habits in Tucson.

I literally cannot rave enough about Tucson Strength. I'm a person that has always been terrified of gyms, insecure about my body and my starting point, and that has really deterred me from any gym, but particularly from what I THOUGHT Tucson Strength was - just a bunch of meat head guys that would make me feel uncomfortable. The reality is that this gym is a community. I see a lot of the same faces when I come in for my training sessions - people are considerate. I have been doing personal training with Kirstin, and I have felt it has been more than worth the investment. Danny, the owner of Tucson Strength, is an angel - an incredibly kind man that clearly cares deeply about the experience of every member. Becky is always mulling around, sometimes at the front desk, with the biggest smile and the warmest welcomes. Lifting weights has always been very intimidating to me and I didn't know my way around a gym other than an elliptical or treadmill. Having access to equipment as well as knowledgable and experienced people that truly want all of their members to succeed has made it possible for me to learn proper technique and have a tailored plan for my needs. The classes also provide me with 1-on-1 coaching in a group setting and I've been able to work on getting strong - my ultimate goal. They offer far more than you would ever be able to get out of a $9.99 monthly membership at a big box gym, and I think that’s why they are so successful! If I could give this gym more than 5 stars I would. Tucson strength is the most welcoming gym no matter what your experience level in fitness may be. Everyone who works there takes the time to learn your name and make sure you feel apart of the amazing community they have built. I was looking for a simple weight-lifting gym that has enough barbell stations, and doesn't try to push its training/classes on you. Tucson Strength satisfies that for me (as opposed to LA Fitness, Chuze, Orangetheory, etc.).

The gym area is clean, the staff are friendly, and I never have to wait for a squat rack. It's more expensive than LA Fitness, but it's more than worth it; I have no desire to return to a big-box gym. There's also some satisfaction in supporting a local business.

If I had any feedback for the ownership, I would suggest they emphasize in their marketing that the open-gym memberships are standard, and not a less common alternative to personal training or classes. The main options for open-gym memberships in Tucson are LA Fitness and the YMCA, but neither of those have the selection of weights that Tucson Strength does. I try to squeeze in sessions when I have time, so having hassle-free open access is important to me.

Even though I was only going for one type of group class, the entire staff made me feel welcome from the start.
During the pandemic, being forced to shut down, they were there for their members through personal online programs and online group training the entire time! I don't know any large scale gyms who would do that for their members.

I have been training at Tucson strength since January 2019. I came over from a commercial gym and as a powerlifter it was challenging training in a normal box gym. So when I heard Tucson Strength was expanding and providing a facility that would support other forms of lifting, such as powerlifting, olympic lifting, strongman, I felt it would be a good decision to join and I was right, I've never looked back! Tucson Strength has become my second home and I have met so many other people in this community.

I've also grown as a competitive lifter and I have Tucson Strength to thank for that. The gym provides kilo plates and specialty bars like squat bars, axle bar, duffalo bar, multi-grip bar and many squat racks, benches and deadlift platforms plus a competition rack which is amazing.

I highly recommend and urge others to check it out the customer service and community is unmatched. everyone is so helpful and supportive which is something you don't get at most gyms.

From its humble beginnings to it's current ability to compete with the biggest gyms, Tucson Strength has never lost its way. I've been a student as well as an instructor here before opening my own place. Despite Danny and I technically now being "competitors" (not really, we frequently refer clients to each other who we feel are a better fit at the other facility), I'm honored to call him a friend. (I am submitting this review after working out at TS for a little over two weeks now)
Since I will be staying in AZ for a period of time, I wanted to find a gym that would suit my needs and help me with my short term powerlifting and fitness goals. I cannot say enough about how glad I found Tucson Strength!
When I searched the interweb for a local gym, photos of the equipment, layout and other members is what first caught my attention. Next, once I had a chance to meet the owner and his staff, and see the facility for myself, I knew this would be a good fit for me.
The equipment and facility are very well maintained. There are classes, machines, weight apparatus, and other notables for every type of person at every kind of fitness level with a goal in mind. The best part of it all, everyone works along side everyone else. You get to see all of the trainers interact with all the clients which gives you first hand experience to how this gym and their personnel operate.
I have worked with the owner, Danny, for three sessions as of this review and am looking forward to his assistance over the next few months. I look toward each session as a learning experience and a brief view to what my body is capable of.

There is a sign outside this business that relates to this not being a $9.99 a month gym. That's right, it is not a $9.99 a month gym. No truer words are spoken than "You get what you pay for" when you sign on at Tucson Strength. Leave your ego at the door, come in, get your workout done, enjoy some conversation if you see fit, make a friend or workout partner, then leave sweaty and happy. Repeat!
