Iβve been trying to get in shape and lose weight for years with little success, but working with Travis changed everything. His program helped me build real, sustainable habits that finally moved the number on the scale and made a difference in the mirror. I've walked by UF many times thinking "some day." I saw all the weights, mirrors and equipment and feared I would never be "ready" to feel comfortable with myself in such a place. I'm in my late 40's, 20+ lbs overweight, and have no idea how to use any of the equipment I saw inside.
I decided it was time to change my life by changing my body so I booked a visit with Travis. I am SOOO glad I did.
#1. I felt welcomed and unjudged.
#2. There was zero pressure. Absolutely none. No "special deal" if I sign up for this or that.
#3. Travis is easy going and relatable.
I am so glad I started my journey here and encourage anyone looking to make a change to start here. My only regret is not starting years ago.

Love, love, love this personal training location! I've been working with Kim for quite a few years and appreciate her friendliness, expertise, attention and yes, training challenges! The facility is clean, neat and well maintained. Most important? It has a great vibe and fun atmosphere!

Decided not to train here, but still had a positive experience. PROS: The facility looked good, smelled neutral (zero funk) and had ample parking. The trainer I met was personable and focused. Pricing for personal training was fair. They were willing to work with me on the pricing (nothing crazy, nevertheless it was appreciated). Fair amount of equipment, including free weights, barbells, etc. No contracts. CONS: Pricy, because it's personal- and small group-training. Slow to respond to inquiries through the website, but direct email was better. No follow up, which might be a plus for people looking for low-pressure sign-up tactics. If my budget allowed for personal training, I'd happily work out here.

Underground Fitness is AWESOME. I have been struggling to get back into a consistent rhythm with exercise and taking care of myself for almost 20 years now. There's something about Shane and my trainer Justin that completely flipped the script and now I'm getting back to what I was doing on my college track team! The atmosphere, the program offerings, the trainers, the clients I've worked out with...this place is a whole vibe. Shane's coaching sessions have been truly instrumental for me by helping me to finally get clear on what I wanted and needed to be happy with my health. He has been a patient, kind and easygoing friend and coach, allowing me to go on my journey and not force me to go one way or the other. Justin, my trainer, has found a way to quietly show me how strong I really am. Working out with him has kept me consistent in my exercise because I don't want to disappoint him by not showing up.

This place is nothing short of amazing. I was scared to try it at first thinking it would be too hard and I wouldn't be able to keep up, but that is not what happened. Alec helped me get started and listened to what I had to say. He knew that JoDee would be the best trainer for me and he was absolutely right! She is so attentive to everyone's needs and limits, yet still pushes us when she knows we can do more. They will help you with the nutrition part if you're struggling and JoDee even offered to help me with my grocery list. She sat with me for nearly 2 hours to talk about my goals and struggles and how we were going to work through them. I had 1 class with Scott and he was pretty amazing too. They make sure you are doing all of the exercises correctly and they don't do it in a condescending manner at all. JoDee also came up with a personalized cardio plan based off a few things like resting heart rate that I can do on my own time or I can come early/stay late to the class. They will keep in contact with you to check in and see how you're doing. The biggest reason I like this place is you can genuinely tell that they care. Which is huge because getting into shape isn't the easiest mentally or physically, but they definitely make it easier.

JoDee has been an amazing trainer. She has created a fun atmosphere that is challenging but enjoyable. There are between 4 to 7 of us in the class at one time and yet she still makes each class personal and constantly changes the exercises. The best part is that her personal attention doesn't start and end only during our sessions but is constant. She adjusts the exercises based on each of our individual issues and works with us to reach our goals. Underground Fitness scored an amazing trainer in JoDee.

I have come so far in the 2 years I have been training with Alec. He is so knowledgeable, and always puts me through the ringer. When I first visited Underground, I had very poor posture as I am a preschool teacher and I sit on toddler chairs all day. Alec had exercises specifically targeting the muscles I needed to strengthen in order to correct my posture. Two months later, we moved to the goal of weight loss and I am down 20 lbs and look great in a bikini! I could not be more thankful for Underground Fitness!

Underground Fitness was the best experience I have had with personal training in my life. As a college athlete I have been involved in division 1 programs whose strength and conditioning programs do not compare with underground fitness. In my few months back home before I left for school I gained 15 pounds of muscle and reached my personal goal set by my trainer Brian. Brian pushed me everyday to be better and helped me tremendously with my nutrition. I believe that whether you are trying to gain muscle, lose weight or trying to just get in shape and become stronger that underground fitness is the place for you. I am extremely grateful for this organization and my trainer in particular and I highly recommend this gym to everyone with a goal.

Brian Minzey has truly changed my career. The status of elite athlete is difficult to attain. Possessing the overall skill set to do so was something I didn't have an issue with. However, I had issues with my weight and major issues with my mobility. The talent I had wasn't able to be tapped into without the correct mobility and also as overweight as I was. I had tried several trainers before with no such luck in tapping into the depths of my talent. Within 3 weeks Brian had changed me as an athlete. I lost 25 pounds, all while maintaining to gain 20 pounds back in lean body mass. My mobility is now that of a supple leopard. Soon after seeing Brian I was able to fulfill my commitment to Grand Canyon University. The pursuit of my professional career and the success I have now that I didn't last year I attribute to Brian and everything he's done for me. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't spent this summer with Brian. The work we put in could not have come at a better time as well. I will recommend Brian and Underground Fitness to all my friends, family, and fellow teammates as I have seen improvement that has given me an opportunity for my future career that was once unforeseeable.

I have been going to Underground Fitness for 8 months and would recommend this to anyone who is serious about training hard and getting results. I am a typical female who has a very difficult time losing weight, even though I feel like I eat good and exerciser regularly. Brian Minzey started training me and customized my food intake. Within the 1st week I already had weight loss results. Through hard work, I am now stronger than ever, have toned muscles and in the best shape of my life. But mostly I'm proud to say I'm down 20 pounds. Brian has helped me every step of the way and I could not have done it without him. As a trainer, he keeps my workouts intense (my preference) and doesn't stand around chit chatting like most other trainer do at the gym. He is passionate about his job and he puts his clients need's 1st. He is kind and compassionate and has a heart of gold. He customizes my own workouts even if he's training someone else at the same time. And not one workout has ever been duplicated. Brian is truly the best trainer I have ever worked with and would highly recommend to anyone who wants results from their workouts.

I've been working out at Underground Fitness for a little more than a year now. Kim has been my trainer from the beginning and she did a great job assessing what my needs were and then working on a plan to build me up from there. I've seen a noticeable difference in my lean muscle and overall strength. And I've learned about all the bad habits I created working out alone. It makes a huge difference to have a pro teaching you the ropes. I wouldn't be where I am today without Kim and the Underground team. Highly recommend if you're serious about getting results! I have gone to underground fitness a hand full of times and I absolutely love it! I worked with their trainer Kim both one on one and in a group environment and she was the best. One on one Kim attended and heard all my goals and tailored a workout to make sure I would meet my goals. In a group environment with more people to train Kim still manages to make my workout feel personal, the group workouts are high intensity because she has different members of the group doing different exercises and then rotating. Honestly, if you have goals you want or need to accomplish consider coming here and using Kim she is the amazing!

I've been a long time member at Underground Fitness and have thoroughly enjoyed my transformation. I've shuttled between different trainers and they've all be fantastic.
I'm currently training with Brian; he has been a great mentor and coach thus far and I'm extremely encouraged to see the results.
Brian is flexible with schedules but more importantly he is adaptive to how each persons body responds and therefore ensures your session is tailored to your physical endurance.

I have been working out with Nicole at Underground since January, and I am so happy and impressed with my results. She's easy to train with, but I don't mean that it's not an intense workout. She's knowledgeable and changes our routine every time, which keeps me working. The gym itself is nice, with new equipment and a vast array of it. The other trainers are very nice as well, and there's a great atmosphere while working out. I have never really stuck with a workout routine before, but I've been so happy, and seen such positive results, that I will stick with UF forever!

Sometimes you have no clue after all your hard work why you don't look good in your jeans. You look in the mirror ( backwards) and say " Um.... no." - You think you can do it yourself.... you convince yourself that you it must be my "genes and not the jeans"... but you have to come to terms that sometimes you can't do it alone. Sooooo.... You want to just pick the cheapest place to get you in shape, but you find you still don't have the look you want. I say if you are really interested in investing in yourself...train yourself for tomorrow so you don't have to keep having the personal battle of the bulge today. Give Underground Fitness a call........ they will make sure your genes look GREAT in your jeans! Not kidding..... :) Any shape and any age.....
