It's so important as an older adult that you do the right exercises for your body. I feel very fortunate that at Your Strength my program was designed by a professional for exactly what I need. My trainer, Abby, knows how to physically challenge me and I am continually and safely gaining strength and stamina.

I started working out at Your Strength last August when I was 51. It’s been a year now, and I can truly see and feel the difference. I feel stronger, more energetic, and more confident — not just physically, but mentally too.
Before joining Your Strength, I used to go to different HIIT fitness classes, but I often ended up injured and had to take time off to recover. It was discouraging to keep starting over. With Katie, it’s completely different. She makes sure we warm up and cool down properly and teaches us how to engage the right muscles safely.
One of the most meaningful benefits for me has been how strength training has helped with menopause. My energy levels are steadier, my sleep has improved, and I feel more emotionally balanced. I’ve also learned how important it is for women in menopause to build muscle and strength — not only to feel and look better, but to maintain bone density and reduce the risk of injury as we age. Knowing that every workout is helping me stay strong and prevent bone loss has been incredibly motivating.
Katie’s positive, bright energy makes every class something I look forward to. She challenges us in a safe and supportive way and always makes sure we’re progressing at our own pace. She’s knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely cares about each person’s journey.
What I love most is the community she’s built. The workouts are fun, effective, and always different, but it’s the people and the positive atmosphere that keep me coming back. It feels like a family that celebrates every improvement, big or small.

Katie is such an excellent coach who focuses on fitness from the perspective of wellness, mobility, strength, and safety. I'm in my late 30s and workout with many older women who are just as strong or stronger-- a testament to her work. I am also a medical provider and I 100% trust her with my physical body and send patients and family to her. I feel stronger and more energized myself after working with her since January. She's one of a kind in terms of her willingness to meet you where you are at with any injury or level of fitness. Totally appropriate for newbies and beyond!

I have been working with Katie for 1 year. I came to her as a 60 year old post-menopausal woman with zero weight training experience as I had a history of exercising through yoga and swimming. I sought out a different way of exercise to support my long term health goals. With aging, I found I was lacking in muscle mass, core strength, and mobility and balance. I did a Dexa scan as soon as I started training with Katie, and I repeated the Dexa scan one year later. The results are nothing but amazing. Through her small classes and our individual sessions, I gained a total of 6 pounds of muscle mass and lost 3% of visceral fat. I am stronger, more mobile and have significantly more balance. If you have never done strength and mobility training before, Katie's expertise exactly what you need. She has created a space that is body positive, and health and longevity forward.

Katie’s coaching has been awesome! I have been visiting Your Strength Gym for 9 months now. I feel great. Katie has helped me become in tune with my body. Not only does she guide you, she explains the movement, which muscle is being worked and how to breathe through the movement. She offers flexible options that fit any schedule such as classes, private or semi private training. I started out in private training. The one on one time was great. My body went from navigating COVID, then to a difficult pregnancy, and then directly into my own life-threatening medical diagnosis and treatment journey. I was at level "zero" physically, and knew I needed to start rebuilding my strength after a couple of very difficult years. Katie's great reviews online led me to Your Strength Movement Coaching. I've been doing personal training with Katie now for a few months and I am beyond grateful to have found her.
A good trainer can meet someone where they are, but what's exceptional about Katie is that she meets both my body and my mind/emotions, exactly where they are for every session we have. She is incredibly attentive and respectful of what my body is trying to tell her at all times (even when I don't hear it or don't want to listen!) and she exhibits amazing agility with tailoring every minute of every session to be exactly what I need, physically and mentally. Katie balances positive energy, empathy, and fun in a way that makes me sincerely look forward to our time together in a way that I've never looked forward to workouts before.
I was worried about some old injuries limiting the options of what I could do, but Katie's deep anatomical knowledge base can make ANY ability level work. She is an encyclopedia of ways to creatively accommodate and support the workarounds I need. With Katie, there are no problems, only solutions!
I completely trust her and would recommend her to anyone who's on the fence of wanting to embark on a strength/health journey but not sure of where to start.

My massage therapist suggested I try Katie’s strength classes because she knew my body and that Katie would be able to help me gain strength and flexibility. Katie has been great at that and more in spite of my challenges. I am a 70 year old female with lots of physical challenges; past hip and knee replacements, foot and ankle surgeries and the need for replacements of my other hip and knee. She doesn’t have an easy job with my limited mobility and joint pain and yet she works diligently to find the exact right movement to strengthen my body. She does that with each person in our strength class. There is no one size fits all. She trains for each individual’s ability.
I love it when I start to do an exercise that I was previously unable to complete and it happens this time. She continues to work on even the smallest adjustment and one day I can accomplish that sit to stand that I couldn’t do before, and with added weight. I also notice around home I can do work that I couldn’t before. Not only lifting the heavy bags of dirt for my garden but I can feel my body using muscles I didn’t know I had. One of the most important things is my posture has improved dramatically which was and is a huge goal for me.
Katie is adamant that each exercise is performed with perfect form and I sometimes think I’m not using enough weight but when I use the muscle the exercise is designed for rather than adjusting around that muscle I find she has chosen the correct weight for me. She works a lot on core exercises and even the tiniest back muscles which I know has helped with my posture.
The classes are limited in size so each person gets individual attention and if no one else signs up for the class, Katie is just as engaged in making it an individual training class. I so appreciate Katie’s knowledge, willingness and flexibility. She makes working out fun without loosing sight of the physical outcomes.

What can I say about Katie and her knowledge. I went to her literally broken from shoulders down; now I am nearly repaired due to her expertise in the body, muscle and tendons and how to manipulate the body to repair itself SAFELY......I am absolutely blessed to have met and to be working with her to gradually get older without all the disasters that happen to the body when aging. With her knowledge and dedication to the body I feel confident I will have the ability to age without "feeling" old. She is a RARE GEM and I am blessed to have her to turn to and to refer ALL my friends to. I have yet to throw anything at her that she doesn't know how to correct.

I met Katie in a grocery store, I asked her what she did for fitness and she told me she was a coach. I have never worked with a trainer before and while I can get motivated to do cardio, I just can't get myself to do weights. But as I get older I know that lifting weights is crucial to health! So I started to work with Katie and I am so happy I made the choice to do it! She is clearly very knowledgeable and seems focused on my total health. We incorporated some mobility into the workouts which has really helped my flexibility and balance. The workouts are challenging but not so hard that I talk myself out of doing them. I highly recommend working with Katie as your trainer! I feel myself getting stronger each week.

Katie has been the best find since sliced bread with butter. I am a 56 year old female whose weight has gotten away from me. I have never been a fan of exercise and can honestly say I would rather be fat than hang out in public gym. Katie’s non-judgement business model is perfect for someone that is wanting to put some positive healthy movement into their life style. Spartan Race Training! Katie has been absolutely amazing. Working with her and the personalized program she put together for me helped me crush my last Spartan Race completing each Obstacle. I’ve competed in over 10 races over the last 5 years and it wasn’t until I started working with Katie that I was able to successfully complete each obstacle in the race which has been a long time goal of mine.
I’m so grateful to have found Katie. I have always been timid in the gym and she has helped me to find confidence through using proper form & easy to follow workout programs customized to my goals. In the past I have struggled sticking with other workouts/plans I tried, but working with Katie she makes me excited to train and I love the results I’m seeing!!!

5 stars is not even close to enough to rate Your Strength Az. I’ve been working with Katie for over a year and she has taught me so much about the proper way to exercise. She’s nursed me back from injury and helped me regain my strength and confidence, plus she’s super fun to be with. A more dedicated and knowledgeable trainer would be hard to find.
