PARENTS RUN AWAY _the camp structure here is horrendous. ZERO communication. False advertisement. No accountability, and the counselors spent the whole time on their phones. They had an ad for a cooking camp and we even signed waivers (hilarious in hindsight) just to find out it was babysitting in a gym. The ladies behind the desk were asked if there would be swimming which they responded with a confident no. So our kids were left to wait while others were swimming. There was a brief cupcake decorating apparently, followed by 6+ hours in the gym. No games no structure just basketballs and nets. The kids literally ran out screaming “never again” I kid you not. It’s been a week and they’re still talking about how horrible it was so I figured a review might save fellow parents the same experience.

I love going to Fayetteville athletic club. I've been going there off and on for many years. About 18 to be exact. There's definitely one fellow there who works in maintenance. His name is Dan. I recently went to the Fayetteville Athletic Club for the first time. I went to take a pickleball lesson with Sean Pummill.
While it was confusing to find my way, everyone that I encountered was friendly and helpful in navigating me to the inside pickleball courts.
The hour I spent with Sean was a great experience and one that I will rethink and run through each time I play the game. I will work on turning his guidance into muscle memory with the hopes that my backhand and drives improve over time.
I highly recommend scheduling time with Sean.

Been going here for a little over a year. Love the classes. Also now pickleball is free with your membership. Great indoor courts and during the winter it's a must. The pro Sean is amazing. Super helpful tons of drill and lessons to work on your game. During open play he will always jump in if you need a player. Give tips. He has really made it more fun here

The atmosphere is not friendly to people with allergies or chronic illnesses as they pump super strong essential oil/s into the dressing rooms that permeates out into the gym. I immediately felt sick walking through there. I would really love to join this gym since my mom and lots of friends go there. I brought it up to the managers but never heard back from them.

Great facility, amazing accommodations and recreational opportunities.. But, I feel they need to invest in more experienced front of house staff. I won’t go into detail. There are previous reviews to refer to customer service.
I just left because I’m very disappointed in the ability to supervise there lost and found or hold their staff responsible and I feel it financially..

This facility thrives off enrollment deposits and overcharges on memberships. We were promised an easy process if we needed to skip a month (I had surgery and wouldn't be allowed to move around for 3 weeks) cut to - not only can we not postpone or cancel- memberships have risen by $40+. Might as well be making monthly payments for gym equipment for my home.
Also - just as other comments suggest, my card was still charged after I canceled through online portal.

Customer service here is not great for the price they charge for membership. This is my third bad experience.

I walked in to make changes to my membership. I let the front desk know this. I was told to take a seat as there was 1 person ahead me. That person was called by one of the membership personnel. About five minutes later another membership personnel arrive at her office. I sat there for 15 minutes being ignored. Another guest enters and had membership questions and was sent directly to her office for assistance. Once done I sat there for another 15 minutes being ignored. Finally a staff member who stopped by to talk to the membership personal finally asked me if have been helped or had a question after seating there for 30 minutes. Once I informed what I was looking they asked the front desk to provide paperwork for me to sign requesting the changes. I am not sure why the front desk just did not present the needed paperwork instead of having me sit down for 30 minutes and be ignored. I am currently looking at potentially switching gyms. As long as you only need to check in is fine, but needing help is another story.

FAC will take every dime you have even after canceling. They will blame it on their system or an employee and say they can’t un charge your card. I was a member for 5 months and moved away. Canceled my membership a month in advance, then was charged after my cancelation with a $70 late fee. They then assured me it wouldn’t happen again but over a year later, in a different state they charge me $300. The manager will never get back to you and the college students they have at the front do their best in a poorly ran facility but can’t help you. Not to mention all their equipment and facilities are over 30 years old. Don’t mean to be a Karen but it’s insane that I canceled a membership three times and am charged over a year later ?

The gym is adequate. But I am very frustrated I had no idea they made it so difficult to cancel. During a family crisis, I am emailing and emailing trying to get a hold of billing to please cancel my membership I am met with absolute silence. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the FAC if you plan to use kids services. First, we had a bad experience with swim lessons. Then a week later, my three year old was repeatedly hit and kicked by an older child in the kids club. I found him cowering in the playscape crying when I picked him up — the staff didn’t even know it had happened. If you aren’t using the kids club, the amenities and classes at the club are good. However no workout for me is worth the bad experiences my kids have had.

I have been a very long time member over ten years. Club suppose to open at 5am. Sit outside until past 5:30 am multiple times. Emailed them my frustrations two different times and they never even replied. So basically they are just saying they don’t care and live with it. The also continually raising rates however they club is degreasing. Weight machines falling apart. Weight room a mess most of the time. Hot tub isn’t maintenance properly and the list goes on. There are a lot of options out there now so I suggest checking your options before choosing this club.

Be sure to watch your bank account after cancelling your membership. I have been charged 3 months fees after cancelling. I have called each time telling them about the issue, they act like they're going to take care of it, and continue to not address it. Attempting to get the charges refunded through my credit card company and get the charges blocked since FAC appears to be incompetent.

Facilities are good and the operating staff is great. Their only problem is their billing department and their internal communication. They use one billing system for for classes and another for membership fees, which failed to charge my card while the other system had no problem at all. Our membership was cancelled without notice and despite I emailed every address to address the problem, including the owner, they did not get back to us so far.

1- It should really be a 24hr gym or at the least a 5am to midnight.
2- The hot tube really needs to be upgraded. Its 80's style outdated.
hard to get those spots that you really need with the jets.
Really just need to add a ton more Jets and that would be fine.

This facility is the best in the NWA. If you are a parent and looking for a place for your kids while you work out definitely FAC is the right place. I have been to many gym but FAC has literally what you want from classes to even great protein shakes.

My Step Daughter has to quarantine for 10 days because she was exposed to an unvaccinated staff member. I picked her up on Tuesday from FAC Kids FACtory and i saw absolutely not one person, adult or child, wearing masks. Cannot recommend this program in the least.

This is the epitome of a family owned business!!! My husband and I got a family membership on 3/27/21 and have had the most positive experience!! The owner will stop and talk to you any time he sees you while he's there. The staff is extremely encouraging and uplifting. They are ALL very warm and friendly. The front desk staff make it a point to welcome you by name when you come at a certain time. It's always busy, but there is never any difficulty being able to work out because there is SO MUCH equipment!! Classes are included in your membership and there are so many to choose from! We were also able to sign up for the child care for our daughter who is too young to work out with us and she LOVES going. We're able to work out without worrying about her being taken care of. She has an absolute blast every time she's there. They treat everyone with the same level of friendliness and respect, regardless of your age, fitness level or size. It is an amazing place that you can tell they take great pride in. It is always clean as well. There are always clean towels and disinfectant to wipe down the machines. You'll often see staff going through wiping the machines down, as well. We got a great deal when we signed up that included a free session with a personal trainer who was amazing (thank you, Virginia). We will continue this investment into our health for a long time to come, but this place makes it easy to want to continue to go!!

Been a member for 15 plus years. Basketball is treated as a second class activity at FAC. They advertise 6 baskets and then allow only 2 to be used because of a money making tool called Waymo. Which, most expensive place to go and then you have to pay even more for use of Tennis courts and programs like Waymo. Why do you have to pay extra for a crossfit class when you're already paying a monthly fee?

Coach Drew is the best! I'm new to tennis and have been taking lessons from him for the past three months. I have had fun, learned so much and excited to play more! He is knowledgeable, skilled and has an obvious passion for the sport. In addition, he is a natural teacher with great communication skills and has the ability to move your game in the right direction. I would highly recommend him as a coach of any level of player!

The best family pool experience in NWA! Our family have been members at FAC for many years, and summer after summer we keep coming back to the pool area for many reasons. If you're looking for a gym they're all over town. If you're looking for an authentic fitness experience FAC is where you need to get a membership. There's something for every athletic need or ambition at FAC. There's highly qualified trainers if that's what you want. If you like your exercise independence and prefer to go solo no one will push you by trying to sell you something you don't want. If you get bored easily there's an incredible variety of equipment and fitness programs FAC. If you just want to chill out, get so me time or take a break from you kids you can do that at FAC. You'll have to put in the effort but you have everything at FAC to help you transform yourself if that's what you want. If you choose you can also meet some wonderful people and make some new friends. I've been a member here off and on since its inception. I love this place. I had quit a few years ago since I didn't have the time to take advantage of all the amenities. However, now that I'm semi-retired, I'm enjoying my workouts, the pool, and the locker room sauna/steam room/whirlpool tub. I'm looking forward to starting some of the classes real soon as well. In my opinion its a nice older gym but charge 20 dollars for a day pass. 50 for 10 days..for someone who only goes with friends periodically its just not practical. The staff are nice tho and its a clean facility. Its really just the price thats the downfall. I mainly go for basketball and Idk what a month pass costs but you can definitely go to a few gyms that are more reasonable.

When I first started, I thought FAC was great. However... as with any relationship, the flaws start to show over time. The equipment is getting quite dated (who still uses iPod chargers?!?), as is the facility (the tiles are coming off in the men's spa, and the place just looks and smells old).

Despite the age, however, they are still charging premium prices --and I just can't justify $80.00 a month for something I can get for much less elsewhere.

The final straw was when I went to freeze my account to try and save a few bucks for the holidays, and they charged me an extra month saying I notified them after the 20th. Fine... enjoy the $80, FAC --because it's the last you'll be getting from me. Ever. I'm canceling my membership and finding some place new.

I have been utilizing this facility for over a month now. I love the fact that you don't feel intimidated, in fact, its quite the contrary. The staff here go out of their way to make you feel welcome and educated on all of their equipment. I couldn't be more pleased, 5 stars is a no brainer! I tell everyone I know about this place and make sure to "check in" on Facebook everyday I'm there (6 days a week). My only suggestion would be to open as little earlier on the weekends, just an hour earlier on Saturday would allow me to come 7 days a week. Thank you for providing a clean, welcoming, experience.
