My family's first visit here was very disappointing and upsetting. I took my daughters to a trial class at this gym and they were extremely excited when they entered. Unfortunately, we stood at the front desk for approximately 12 minutes as if we were invisible. We instantly felt out of place. Yes, my family is African American. YES, it makes a difference.
No one spoke to us, no one asked if they could help us with anything. As a matter of fact, we watched them watch us. We watched a lady count money at the front desk for 5 minutes and didn't offer to help us. We watched 2 staff members stare at us and still no one offered help. It was very disappointing, and my daughters left in tears because they really wanted to participate.
I'm not sure who's in charge of this place, but please don't offer free trials and tell people to just "show up." Please train your staff on how to greet unfamiliar faces instead of making them feel unwelcome.

I can’t say enough good things about out Genesis! We are going on year 3 here and have done rec classes, team and camps. The coaches are all amazing and so wonderful with the kids and all great role models. The office staff is always quick to respond and easy to work with.

My daughter absolutely loves this place! We had taken a break and went somewhere else and she only last a month. She begged to come back to Genesis. She does gymnastics classes and has now done a camp. She never wants to leave and always, without fall, asks if she can do more when I pick her up. She’d love to be here every day and signed up for every camp/activity she could.

We took our 4 year old son in for an hour for their classes on Saturday mornings and he had a great time. It wasn’t crowded and they got to know him very quickly. We plan to take our daughter there soon.. Thank you

Genesis is just amazing! I especially want to recognize coach Anna Avery. My daughter was having a rough day from school Tuesday. Anna just brought the biggest smile to her face, and she even earned the gymnasts of the day. Anna you make such a tremendous impact and we appreciate you!

This gym is perfect for my family. They take great care of my daughter. She loves going to her weekly class. And they have lots of great programs like parents night out and day camps. The coaches are encouraging and they break the kids up in small groups for their rotations. It is a community feel. The kids do team, parades, fundraisers.
Cons/Caveat: I am a pretty low key parent. I do not expect my daughter to be a full time gymnast, this gym is not as aggressive as other gyms in the area. Parking is limited because parents are coming in and out, so you'll have to be patient. There is not a big viewing place for parents to watch and micromanage thier kids 'performance'. That's definitely not the vibe at Genesis.

I bring my kids here for tiny tots open gym on occasion. It’s fantastic! There is so much stuff for the kids to play on and despite being a huge gym, you feel like you can always see your kids and that they are safe! The people that run it make you feel so at ease and it’s an all round great place for the littles to get their energy out for an hour with other littles! Great value as well!

this place is really good if you can learn the way they teach; however, if you learn differently then youre out of luck. i learn through failure. im the type of girl who when learning how to ride a bike i just got on it and when i fell and scraped up my knees i got up and got back on with bloody knees until i was doing it without falling. i started coming here to learn my back handspring and in the beginning, they focused on our individual skills and worked with us on what we needed. they just recently changed up the whole system and now they just do basics the whole time with a little bit of your desired skill sprinkled in. i messed up one time on a skill that im still learning to do and immediately i was pulled from doing the skill and forced to do skills that i already know how to do. my friend is similar to me with how she learns and when she messed up she was told that she was doing it wrong; not how to fix it, and she wasnt allowed to try the skill anymore for the rest of class. the staff is usually kind, but if you don't learn in their cookie cutter fashion, this isnt the place for you.

I've been taking the adult gymnastics class for nine months and I'm so glad I found this gym!! The class can be whatever you make it, from an open gym to true event training. Stacy is great at knowing what you want to get out of the class and pushing you to do things you didn't know you could do. There are always trained people there to spot you and teach you how to do skills safely. I look forward to going every week, and eventually competing!

When you think of a family owned, small business, this is exactly what comes to mind. An owner and coaches passionate about what they do, and easy to work with. Flexible scheduling, and more than fair pricing. It's rare to find a place you can learn so much, and have so much fun!

My daughter has been raving about joining a gymnastics class. She was too excited the night before her first class that she couldn’t sleep! Well, I’ll say this place didn’t live up to the hype.
Upon entering, nobody greeted us. Nobody asked her name. She joined the class (of two others) and the three “coaches”. The kids ran. They stretched. The coaches talked for 20m. Cool.
They started their gym routine. Mind you, this is our first class. Forward rolls were the first and last thing she could do. Some back bend exercise she failed at, which is fine, but the coaches would stand back and do nothing. They watched her and did nothing to help. Several more exercises passed that she couldn’t do. Eventually, she began to cry. Maybe it’s from being overwhelmed. Maybe she was scared because she was disappointing her coaches or me. I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.
The last 15m was free play. Mostly jumping in the foam pit. An hour long session with roughly 20m of “instruction”.
Silver lining: she now knows that just because someone is a “coach” or a “teacher” doesn’t necessarily mean they have your best interests at heart. My class was nothing more than a social hour for some friends who got paid to talk to one another.
I post this in hopes that parents of young kids new to gymnastics read it and they choose to go elsewhere.

Genesis has been a great find for our family with 2 young daughters. Lots of options of class types and a fairly wide schedule as well.
#1 perk for us is that Genesis has "home school" focused classes for elementary age children that is during the day (rather than the evenings). To my knowledge these are the only day time classes that aren't pre-school focused.
Also top notch is their flexibility, we travel some for work and do miss classes at least once a month, so we really appreciate the flexible makeup class policy.
In summary, great team and organization, we expect to be customers for a long time. Highly recommended!
