Know that if you cancel they will continue to charge you no matter how hard you push back. I canceled my membership months ago as I moved out of town and they still continuously charge my checking account despite me repeatedly telling them I've moved States and to cancel my membership. Their customer service representatives are beyond condescending and rude. I had to put a block on my checking account for them to no longer charge me. I now get harassing voicemail messages stating that I owe them money for a membership I canceled months ago. I'm currently filing small claims against them to get this matter resolved but it's been an absolute nightmare dealing with them. I'm also a lawyer and I've repeatedly requested to have their agent and address for service of process in order to initiate my lawsuit against them and they continuously refuse to give it. Just be aware that this is no longer Esporta and Genesis is far far worse

I recently visited the Genesis's health club on university. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The water in the pool was crystal clear. The water in the spa was clean and bubbling hot water. The sauna was great! The ladies locker room and bathroom was immaculate!!!!! The gym has state of the art equipment. The health club is very spacey with plenty of room to work out. The water aerobics instructors, James, Dion and Eddie are ( AWSOME} they are professional and truly passionate about there teaching skills. They are encouraging and inspirational! I can honestly say it is a beautiful facility. I truly enjoyed every moment I spent there!!!!` Thank you for what you do on a daily bases to help people with all levels of fitness. God bless you all. You all are wonderful people and I’m glad I had the opportunity to visit your facility!

This is the worst gym in Little Rock. The bathrooms, locker rooms, and gym area are not clean, and much of the equipment is rusted. The cable machines are difficult to use because they haven’t been maintained or greased properly. On top of all this, the membership prices are far too high for a facility in such poor condition

It is a decent gym with decent amenities but since it was acquired by Genesis Health Clubs, they doubled their prices immediately for new customers. They also dropped One Pass membership option. However, during the switch I was signed up to membership at this gym through my One Pass membership. One day, they stopped me and said they do not do One Pass. They guy was short with me and told me that he can sign me up for their membership. The next day they called me and said that they do One Pass. I came in again, and they told me that they had issues adding my account and told me to call One Pass. I called One Pass and their corporate office, spent 1 hour on calls, and was informed that they only do Medicaid side of One Pass and not commercial One Pass. Due to a runaround I had to do and doubling the price of their gym, and keeping same amenities, I rate this gym 2/5.

This gym is dedicated to stealing your money. You can only cancel Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 in person. They increased my monthly bill +$20 without notice. Tired of companies doing shady things to keep contracts in place. Save yourself a headache and join a different gym.

THIS IS THE WORST GYM IN LITTLE ROCK. The equipment is old and failing. When machines breakdown, which they do often, they take forever to fix them. It’s not a good facility. I think the new owners plan to bleed more money from the members and file bankruptcy and continue to charge the customers. I canceled my membership last month and they still charged me for September, citing the print on the cancellation form. What a racket! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

I’ve been going to this location for a while, and the sauna has now been out of service for almost a month — with no clear updates, no timeline, and no accountability. When I called to ask about a discount or even acknowledgment of the inconvenience, I was told to “just go to another location.”
The sauna was a major reason I chose this gym, and being dismissed like that as a paying member is unacceptable. Other members have mentioned the same problem in their reviews, and nothing seems to be done. At this point, it feels like the management just doesn’t care.
I shouldn’t have to drive across town or pay full price for amenities I can’t access. Disappointed and considering taking my business elsewhere.

I recently joined Genesis Health Club on June 30, mainly for access to the swimming pool, spa and sauna. Unfortunately, from the day I joined, those amenities were frequently closed. When I contacted the member service team, they said those features are “included” but not billed separately, essentially saying I shouldn’t expect anything even if they’re unavailable. That felt misleading, since those were the main reasons I signed up for.
I decided to cancel my membership. I was told if I canceled by July 15, I’d only be billed for one final 30-day cycle ending August 15. So I called on July 14 to cancel, only to be told cancellations must be done in person, something no one mentioned earlier.
I went in person on July 15, filled out the cancellation form, and noticed it said my final billing would be August 15 but that the membership wouldn’t end until September 15 so that charging me for two full months after cancellation . When I asked for clarification, the front desk said that’s what I had “signed in the contract,” and insisted their policy is 30 days’ notice and that’s what they saw in the system.
To make things worse, when I tried to take a picture of the form so I could keep track of the dates and wording, and the front desk staff abruptly pulled it from my hands and said I am not allowed to take picture or take it with me. It was unnecessarily rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.
What bothered me more was the inconsistency: when I joined, they prorated my charge for June 30 to July 15, and I know from a friend that they align billing to the start of the month when it suits their system. So they clearly can adjust billing when it benefits them but when it comes to ending a membership then is systematic. It felt like a one-sided policy meant to favor the gym, not the members.
After all the back-and-forth, I finally spoke with a supervisor at member service team who understood the situation and thankfully honored the original explanation canceling my membership. I’m grateful for her help, but the entire process up to that point was confusing, frustrating, and handled poorly by multiple staff members.
Apart from the maintenance issues and cancellation confusion, I didn’t have a problem with the gym itself. The workout area was well-maintained, equipment was in good condition, and I enjoyed using the facility overall. Most of the staff I interacted with were friendly and professional except for one.

My husband and I are in town for 6 months and we’re looking for a place to workout for that time. We visited the west side location and liked the layout and how big the facility is. We liked that they have a 6 month or month to month membership option. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of information. We also visited the Midtown and found that it too was a nice facility. The manager that gave us the tour was very helpful and made sure our questions were answered. We will for sure consider Genesis as an option.
