Was a member of the NLRAC for over 20 years, and recently moved over to Genesis 2 months ago. The experience has been nothing short of everything I’ve expected and more! The gym is clean and let’s talk about the parking lot it is HUGE! The management and employees are amazing, kind, and always willing to help if you need. So come join us at GENESIS!!!

I was a member of the NLRAC and moved over here a couple months ago. This gym has amazing employees and management who are always eager to help. Their locker room is so much better, and machines are the best. Overall, the transition over has been AMAZING!!! Please check them out ASAP.

Decided to go check out the gym and look at memberships, had a okay tour when I sat down to look at the prices the manager Thaddus did not mention a activation fee he only told me about the prorate for the gym and that since he his the manager “ take off” the 200$ enrollment fee, along with saying he would pay for personal training sessions even though on the website and in the binder it says we get complimentary personal training sessions 3 of them for free so I don’t know where that came from , right after this I asked my friend to go check out the gym and see if he pulled the same scammy approach to selling the memberships and to my surprise he did , if anyone else has had this issue please make it known

I used to like this gym, but now they have all these Little Rock Athletic Club people going and it’s awful. It’s super crowded and gym members are rude and inconsiderate by leaving their stuff at multiple machines to try and “claim” them. I won’t be using this location again.

Been a member since it was esporta and I have to say since genesis took over I’ve had an incredibly negative experience. Several machines are broke and just stay broke. The hours are ridiculous when something like 10 fitness exists. Worst of all I moved to Conway for school and I also work 30 hours a week so I have no time on my hands. I wanted to cancel my membership because I’m broke and uca has a far better gym anyway. You have to go in person which is hard for me so I’ve lost over 100 bucks in fees when I don’t even go there anymore. I planned to cancel today, the 21st because my last charge was on the 24th of last month. THEY CHARGED ME TODAY FOR THIS MONTH. I’m not saying that I couldn’t have found some other time to go cancel it before but it’s ridiculous that they will NOT work with you at all on in person cancellation or refunding fees you haven’t used for months even in my circumstance when I planned on cancelling days before I THOUGHT my fee was due. Go to 10 fitness, unless you have a need for a sauna I promise you will have a way better experience there

We were members of North Little Rock Athletic Club (NLRAC), and ever since Genesis Health Club bought them out, the experience has gone downhill.

After the buyout, Genesis closed NLRAC for remodeling and moved everyone to the Lakewood location. They promised that child care hours would stay the same, but when we went this morning, no one was there — and the staff didn’t know where the childcare workers were or when (or if) they’d be in. We ended up having to leave.

The gym smells dirty and feels overcrowded now that both memberships have been combined. The friendly, family-oriented atmosphere that NLRAC was known for is gone. We were also told towel service would be available (as it was before), but it still isn’t. Meanwhile, we’re paying the same higher NLRAC rate, which is more than Genesis’ normal price. They even removed the free ice water station that was briefly available after the change — apparently to push bottled water sales.

Overall, it’s been a disappointing experience filled with empty promises.

The only positive thing I experienced at this gym was my trainer, Joushaline, who unfortunately was fired without any notice—just like another woman I personally witnessed. After that, I never received the service I had already paid for.

When they want to sell you training packages or memberships, every employee in the gym will sit at the desk and make sure the whole process goes smoothly. But when you want to cancel, suddenly it’s only a “specific person” who can help you. Of course, that person is never there. Every time you go, they say “come back later,” which conveniently makes you pay for at least another month for nothing.

When they are selling, they are overly nice and say yes to everything. But once you’ve paid, they start messing with your schedule, and even remove remaining sessions without telling you.

This place rebranded from Esporta to Genesis Health Club. At first I thought it might improve, but the only thing that changed was the name. I also paid for the kids club—yet half the time there was no staff there, and when someone was there, they would send me home with my kids for unnecessary reasons. They lock the doors whenever they feel like it, forcing you to drive back home for nothing.

When I tried to cancel my membership over a serious problem, instead of addressing it with the employee responsible, another staff member tried to ignore me. When I refused to give up on my money, he rudely told me to leave. As I walked out, staff laughed behind me. I’m in my 30s, and that level of unprofessional childish behavior was shocking and completely unacceptable.

If you ever have a problem here, don’t waste your time going in person. Call corporate, because despite what they tell you, the cancellation process can be done easily without you stepping inside that building.

I’m relieved I finally got myself out of this money trap. I will never step foot in this place again. The employees (aside from a few young ones trying their best) are rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional.

Literally CAN NOT CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP. THEY FRAUDULENTLY STOLE ALL INFORMATION FROM ANOTHER GYM AND FORCE YOU TO SIGN A CONTRACT AND PAY THAT YOU CAN NOT CANCEL. THIS IS FRAUD. You have to have a meeting with a general manager to cancel, who is never there. I had a contract with north little rock athletic club, but they magically moved it here WITHOUT ASKING... this is ridiculous. Can't even cancel something i didnt sign up for.

The lack of communication that has transpired since this gym became Genesis is unreal. Fees have gone up, the new equipment that was to be provided w/in 90 days of the takeover is nowhere to be found, & the community that I was once drawn to has dispersed.

I used to love this gym. Now I’m in the process of finding a new one.

I have been coming to this gym forawhile and I have seen multiple managers working there. The best one I have seen so far was Jenna, who worked there this year and somehow disappeared. She was super friendly and she was the only manager who was not only always present, but also working really hard. All the areas were well maintained when she was there. Everyone knew she was watching. She just took care of all the areas really well and showed that she really cared about this gym ( not talking about the broken equipment because that is not up to her but up to the higher management when to fix it). Highly recommend bringing Jenna back and letting her help this gym thrive.
I had seen the best kids club employees who were great with kids being let go in this gym as well, and some bad ones stayed. Don't know why the management doesn't try to keep the best people.
Also it would be super helpful if morning and weekend kids club hours were brought back asap, as well as evening hours being extended.

I’ve been a member of this gym for 5 years through the transition from LA Fitness to Esporta and now Genesis. I was never notified that personal training sessions would now expire after 60 days when they previously did not expire. I also never agreed to their change in PT frequency. I have been paying for 4 sessions per month since I joined, but now that Genesis has taken over they were charging me the same amount, yet I only got 3 sessions per month. Thankfully the cancellation process was easy, but this has been the worst gym experience of my life. Buyer beware, they’re gonna change terms without telling you!

I have been a member for over 6 months now. I really enjoy the facility, they have a lot of different equipment and classes that are included. My favorite part is the pool, which is why I joined in the first place. The pool is heated and I have never found it crowded. I've never had to wait. There is a hot tub and a sauna as well! This place is always clean. I have no complaints 😌 I am grandfathered in on a lower price though!
Shjuan at the front desk is very friendly! I have always been greeted by every employee at the front desk. They always say hi and bye. It's a great place!

This has so far been repeat of LA Fitness's poor management. I was a member there about 8 years ago and not much at all has changed. The facility is still not up to where Genesis is advertising it should be at, with nobody seeming to know a rough estimate of when updates are coming.

Heard people leaving actively complaining about the terrible state of their sauna. There are still treadmills and ellipticals that are either just outright broken or have not seen a deep clean since that gym first popped up there.

The manager there, Thaddeus, has a blatant disregard for your time and money and never seems to be present when something needs to be done.

I wanted to give Genesis the benefit of the doubt and hang on until things shifted, but it does not seem like anything of substance will come from this location for the foreseeable future.

If you value your money and your time, find a better gym home. If you have no other choice, read other people's experiences with Genesis in other states before you sign a contract that is going to be extremely difficult for you to leave and deal with management that is going to do everything in their power to make it harder for you.

I’ve been a member since LA Fitness owned the club in December of 2014, with a brief pause during Covid. It went from an exclusive fitness club with amazing classes and top notch facilities to the ghetto. It all went down hill beginning with LA fitness. Nobody that has assumed the business has done any better at all. They have never fixed bathroom doors since literally 2018. They have a slew of old treadmills that stay broken. The pool in Lakewood was out of use for weeks. All of the good classes and instructors are gone . All of this started years ago and has continued to be an issue . It’s a convenient place to work out close to my job and shopping and that is the only thing that keeps me . I am no longer a proud member. I feel like I’m being scammed. The Lakewood facility is the absolute worst of all. No classes worth mentioning . Broken equipment.

Very poor communication about the faculty use. This location recently switched from esporta. They have unspoken policy issues that are inconsistently enforced as well as communicated. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with this poor communication and the inconvenience it created, the employee became difficult.
