Pretty good gym, has everything you could need. Staff are nice and helpful. Not sure if the sauna gets cleaned very often and many machines/lockers are broken and cleanliness of locker rooms/machines can be improved. Good for the price, but they are increasing the cost from what I pay through Active and Fit Program from $28/mo to $54/mo. A 92% rate increase is a lot unless facilities are being renovated, I will not be renewing.

Ive been going here for a long time (multiple years). since it has been acquired by genesis I have noticed a significant improvement. Recently they hired new management and that has really taken things up a notch. the gym is cleaner than ever before and the staff are so friendly.

Class schedule on website is never consistent with the class schedule posted in the gym. What’s the point of having it on the website if it’s wrong. AND the website was down for a week and half. It’s always so hot in the main gym yet the class rooms are freezing. How does that make sense if they’re empty most of the time? No digital scales, but don’t worry they have a manual one! But it’s broken. For some reason the toilets are next to the sauna. Nothing beats walking into humid poop air am i right? Not worth the high price. Just because you have a pool doesn’t make you a luxury gym.

This is a really great gym. This gym features a great amenities such as a sauna, basktball court, racquetball and many more. The staff is also amazing (shoutout to Shajuan, Shy and Shanice)

I've been coming here for years. Never had an issue. Fairly priced, friendly staff, plenty of machines that i use are always ready for use. Shajaun (today) in particular made me feel welcome, which I truly appreciate. The cleaning staff has also improved over the years.

This is a fantastic facility. All the employees work hard to keep the facility clean and there’s a lot of equipment to use, never a wait. The five stars come from my satisfaction with my experience. Shanice is one of my favorite people always saying hi and greeting us when we come in. However, I am confused by the female employee who is dressed inappropriately behind the desk. Tube tops, crop tops, short short short shorts. It’s off putting and confusing when walking into the gym. I believe she is the manager but she’s there behind the desk dressed like this often. If there’s a dress code, it’s rarely being upheld by her.

I never write reviews but ever since Esporta switched to Genesis my experience at the gym has been negative. I had a difficult time cancelling my membership cause every time I went in the person who deals with it was “out” for whatever reason. Finally, I went in and a man up-front offered to help because I was moving out of state and couldn’t come back in person. Overall, it felt like every time (except the last time) I went to customer service for help I was heckled or mocked about why I didn’t cancel my membership sooner.

I think the majority of people commenting negatively here don't understand or realize what a nicety it is to have a full fledged, real gym (vs strip mall gyms) in town.
You can go to much bigger cities where you'd think having this nice of a facility would be a given-- and it simply isnt. I was away from LR for 10yrs and one of the main reasons I ended up back in Wlr was because of this gym. So many cities don't have anything near this nice. I think reviewers here need a bit of a reality check.
Genesis has only owned these gyms for approx 6 months- I think they should be provided more of a chance to turn things around that arent ideal. I have heard a major reno will be occuring. Not sure if this is the case, though..

I signed up for a 3-day free pass to come in and get a tour of the gym to see if I was interested in signing up. There are multiple locations where I live and I chose the one that was beside my work which happened to be 45 minutes from my house. I showed up with my 18-year-old as a guest, per my email said I could bring a friend for free. I get there and it is the old Esporta gym. There's not anything that says Genesis anywhere. I walked in and the gym was absolutely run down. It did not look anything like any of your videos. The lady at the front desk was sitting down eating her food and I told her I was there for my tour which she refused to give me. She said we were welcome to go walk around myself and see what all they had. She also tried to tell me that my 18-year-old could not be there he had to sign up and I told her my email said I could bring someone. She argued with me until I pulled up my phone and showed her and she said okay fine he can come. I also asked her why the gym did not look anything like the video advertised and she said she had never even seen that video she doesn't know why it looks like that because that is what the gym will continue to look like and has not heard anything about any changes being made. Also, there poolwas shut down currently because it was not up to code and the health department shut it down.
After I walked around and saw that this was a completely different gym as advertised I asked her about the meal prep option. The website clearly states and has multiple videos on how they have ready to go meals you can buy individually and if you like them you can buy them. It even has 10 mils for $149, or 20 meals for $200 listed on the website. She told me they don't do that there they just said all of those things to get people to come in and join the gym. She admitted that everything on that website is highly inaccurate and will never look like that. If I wanted a gym that look like that I would have to go out of state because none of the locations in Arkansas look like that nor will they ever. I just walked out because she was so rude and I had driven 45 minutes for a luxurious gym experience and I got a gym that was in the hood. Not to mention one of the men that works at the front counter was on a personal phone call on speaker dropping the f word every two seconds talking very loudly. Everything about that place was highly unprofessional and I was in a very good part of town. I would just like to know why you were advertising a luxurious gym when none of it is accurate? This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I love the racquetball courts. There’s always availability to play unlike another club in town. Lots of classes to take. The best part is the pool. We’ve been a member at the local racquet club, and this gym surpasses that one in location, community, equipment availability, and facilities. The front desk staff is fantastic and knows everyone’s names!

The staff at this gym truly feels like my family away from home. From the moment you walk in, they're all smiles, always checking in on how you're doing, not just in your workouts, but in life. They genuinely care, and it shows.
Everyone is so approachable and helpful, whether it's showing you how to use equipment properly or cheering you on when you're pushing through a tough session. The personal trainers are incredible. Be ready to work hard, because they'll have you sweating (and sometimes crying!) by the end of your session, but in the best way possible. You leave feeling stronger, motivated, and accomplished every single time.
A special shout-out to Shaniece, Kenny, KC, Autumn, Tyler, Amara, and Cheyenne. You all make gym time the absolute best part of my day. Thank you for creating such a positive, encouraging, and fun atmosphere. I couldn't ask for a better place or better people to help me crush my fitness goals!

I accidentally lost my Pearl earring in the shower recently, it was stuck firmly in the metal shower drain cover. Tylon , the most helpful assistance at Chenal took the extra time and effort removed the drain cover and popped my pearl. I am very grateful.

Had to pay a full month worth of membership for the last 10 days of the month and then they still proceed to charge me on the first of the month. And their cancellation policy is even worse because it is some 30 day bullshit where they don't let you cancel your membership immediately and you have to pay for an extra month when you don't want to.

I look forward to swimming and exercising every morning at Genesis. I am greeted warmly when I come in the door and get my workouts going. The pool is the perfect 25 meter length and I feel great after I get my mile in. Afterward I hit a few machines, stretch and go on my way. As I walk out the door, there is a chorus of “Have a great Day!” from the front desk crew. Come join us!

I absolutely loved my experience at this gym! I'm new to little rock and needed to find a gym with a sauna. From the moment I walked in, the facility was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you need for a great workout.
A special shoutout to Shanice—she was incredibly kind, helpful, and made me feel right at home. Her positive attitude and genuine care for members really stood out. Whether it was answering questions, offering encouragement about starting my fitness journey, or just sharing a friendly smile, she made the whole experience even better.

I'm really disappointed with my experience at this gym. The equipment is often out of service and poorly maintained. The shower curtains have black mold, and there are gnats in the shower. The wipe stations to clean equipment are always empty. This gym needs to do a better job of maintaining its equipment and cleaning the facility. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Since the conversion from Esporta to Genesis the gym has slowly gotten worse. Employees do not ever clean. They all stand around upfront talking.

I mostly go to the Midtown and NLR locations, which are great! Came all the way out to this location for 9:45 Zumba class (as it states on the website) just to get there for the class to be Silver Sneakers. Not due to substitution, but the schedule does not match the online. It’s frustrating to waste gas and time for things to be wrong. Change the schedule online when there is a permanent change, most people refer to the online schedule to plan their workouts. I’m never coming to this location again. Do better.

Dislike how early it closes, especially on the weekend! This is particularly why I’m writing this review lol. 6pm is crazyyyy, like not everyone is available on a 9-5 schedule.
The staff is nice, but it could be better stocked and cleaned for sure. For a while there were threatening passive aggressive signs about the gym equipment being put back (which yeah I agree with) but is that not a part of their maintenance SOPs?? I came here from PF and was shocked how low priority cleanliness is here.
It feels like they’ve pivoted to doing more group classes and personal training, but as an individual gym-goer, there is no beneficial change I see minus the price increase.

the employees (specifically front desk people) are so rude, we’ve had an issue going on for months and act like they have no idea what’s going on even though they’d acknowledge it was an issue on their part in the past. they all just twirl in their seats at the desk and give no help. the lady at the front desk literally shooed us away because she didn’t want to try and help us scan in.

Why say your closing hour is at 10 when you lock the doors way before! I arrived at 9:15 and they had the doors locked and bolted with chains. No one bothered to let me in even though there were 2 people sitting at the front desk.

Any any any time I want to use the damn pool it is closed! I come after work and I can swim because they do lesson of any shit, I try to swim in the morning and they close it because it’s under cleaning.. pools in my country even have pee with chlorine and nobody gets sick or burnt!
I stick there when the messed up changing the name and all the things but this is getting enough, also people leaving their stuff anywhere and don’t letting you using the machines, and yeah, they don’t do a shit!

Genesis taking over has been pretty disappointing. I tend to be open to new ownership/management as most of the times they add something new or helpful to improve locations, but this has been the opposite. There are hardly cleaning wipes stocked, machines continue to be broken, the sauna (huge selling point to me and others by the way) has been broken for 2+ months… it’s a plethora of things at this point. I’ll continue with my membership hoping they improve this location but so far I’ve been extremely dissatisfied. Please fix the sauna!!!

I joined this club 11 years ago when it was LA fitness. And then a few years ago they rebranded as Esporta and then I guess a couple months ago they got acquired by Genesis.
I’m not going to leave or complain, and I guess that’s how most of us are at this gym. It just continues to get rundown. I totally understand why someone would give it a one star review, but I don’t think that’s fair. It’s 100% accurate that equipment breaks and is rundown and it takes weeks or actually months for them to repair it…but where else are we gonna go? This place could be so much better than it is. I really enjoy working out here because of the location, but really the thing I like the most is it’s a familiar routine and I know the people who work out there. There are lots of us who have been there for the last decade. If someone were to give this facility a five star review, I would suggest that they have not ever been to a nice gym. And for everyone who gives it a one star review, I think they’ve never actually been to a terrible gym. This place is just right there in the middle between those two extremes. Mediocre— it’s like perfectly mediocre and maybe that’s their goal.
They don’t strive for excellence at this gym and if you’re not OK with that, then this is not the place for you. It wouldn’t surprise me if they respond to this review and claim that they do strive for excellence, but it’s just not so. They don’t know what excellence is. But it’s a fine place to workout. Just don’t expect it to be awesome.
Having said that…the employees are nice. But it’s just mid.

Save your time and money and find another gym. I am disappointed that management allows an employee who opens the gym at 5am to be habitually late. Today it was 5:30 and no opener in sight. Members that workout this early in the morning have jobs and responsibilities to attend and don't have any other time to workout. There is lack of accountability in WHOEVER owns the gym now. So save yourself the headache and avoid this gym on Chenal.

I am extremely disappointed with how this gym has handled its recent transition. Members who have been paying consistently were not informed about the sale of the club, nor were we given any opportunity to opt out or receive formal acknowledgment of this change.
In addition to the lack of transparency, the gym's overall standards and quality have declined significantly. The sauna is frequently out of order, even when it appears to be functioning. Cleanliness has deteriorated, and many machines remain broken for extended periods without repair.
To make matters worse, it seems that our membership information has been transferred to another gym, Genesis, without our consent or prior notice. This lack of communication and disregard for loyal members is both unprofessional and unacceptable.
I cannot recommend this gym to anyone seeking a reliable and well-maintained fitness facility. Transparency and member respect should be a priority, and unfortunately, that has not been the case here.
