So I’m leaving a review to address the current situation I along with others have been placed in.

I attended this gym for about a year, saw good progress, staff was friendly, great customer service etc.

However, the equipment is simply not up to par. Not to mention they keep signs posted on the equipment that doesn’t work as a crutch and excuse to NEVER fix the equipment. I guess it’s alright considering if you were to attend the gym 12x a month your subscription would be reduced to $5 a month instead of $26.

But is it worth it?? Absolutely not. Once you’ve had enough of this gym and try to cancel your subscription, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU A REFUND, BEWARE!!! I spoke to their customer service representative who told me a refund simply isn’t possible, and ON TOP OF THAT, THEY CHARGE YOU FOR CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP TOO!!!

Anything to get their greedy hands on a couple more dollars. Terrible business practices. Avoid this gym if you know what’s good for you and have ANY sense of consciousness in your body.

Please do yourself a favor and don’t pick this gym. If you get the contract to go 12 times and the scanner doesn’t work (my husband and I go together) they really just don’t care. It showed that I went 12 and he went 11 times even though we go together. I’ve had to call multiple times (never getting a call back after being promised multiple times) and I haven’t been mean but I’m just frustrated. They clearly do not care and offer no help whatsoever. The front desk staff have never been friendly and seem to be put off when you ask how many times you’ve been.

I had a gym membership here for a little bit but then I switched gyms. I called to cancel my membership in December spoke to a lady in customer service who told me exactly that “my membership has been cancelled now and I won’t get anymore charges for the new year.” Well after I notice that my account had been getting charged still I called the office in Benton and they said they can’t do anything and won’t reimburse me my money but that I should call their billing and talk to them. I called them and was told that the worker I spoke too originally did not in fact cancel my membership as I asked but instead just left a comment stated “customer called at X time and canceled membership.” So my membership never got canceled as originally planned but I also never got my money back from the 3 months that it charged even though I had asked the main office in Benton and their billing regarding it. The gym itself isn’t that bad other then broke. Equipment but I definitely don’t recommend it because you could very well get screwed as I did.

This place is a straight up scam when you try to cancel. They'll keep billing, duck your calls and refuse to return messages. Avoid. Having to go to my bank with fraud for these guys. Ridiculous.

The sinister robocalls are a huge violation..

You are not legally required to provide them with auto-pay. Don't let them try to make you think otherwise. I asked a few lawyers about this. Gyms also cannot require you to violate your HIPPA rights to pause or cancel your membership though Pulse likes to think it can.

Their card reader doesn't work half the time, they never answer phones, they'll lock you out randomly despite being paid up, to cancel they require invasion of your medical records as if they're you're employer or you're a child in school. They also like to have their employees leave fake positive reviews to up their score and they don't honor their discount system. Much of their equipment is also in terrible shape or broken and they don't have a pool.

Hey Benton athletes! If you haven’t checked out my gym, Pulse in Benton, it is worth giving them a shot. I’ve been going here for several years and the owners/team have recently kicked the improvements in high gear. It’s a good crew and the other gym rats are very respectful and helpful…especially Mike. Anyway, Pulse in Benton is a great gym and its not purple. It is more….well, a work in progress).

This is a great gym. It has equipment for everyone. I work the punching bag and train for endurance. This is something most gyms dont offer or allow. This gym makes an effort to supply equipment and training for everyone. So if you looking for a place to workout without drama, I recommend this place.

It’s a okay gym. Pretty clean and comfortable. I used to enjoy it way more. But the Sauna has not worked for 6 months and they still have a sauna advertised on their website. Only the one in the women’s works and most of the gym goers here are men and it just feels off to me that it’s on the google page it says that they have a sauna and in fact do not have a sauna.

First off, I need to state, when signing up for this gym, it was a dream of an experience. They bent over backwards to help me. They cleared up the air quality, they removed any and all oppressive air fresheners for me and my wife. They even stopped using their cleaning products that were causing us issues.

However, recently, each of the previous listed changes have been reversed. Whenever I go to work out, the air is so full of air fresheners and "smell goods" it's difficult to breathe. If it's hard for me to breathe, I"m not going to try and work out. When expressing this issue, I was told if I canceled out, or stopped coming, I'd be held to the fullest extent of my contract. That's fair, I signed a contract, however, no move was made to try and keep me to renew my contract, no talk of removing the air fresheners, nothing about the air quality. Nothing.

In closing, know that they care about keeping your contract so they can stay open, they don't care if you actually show up. This was a wonderful, little gym. It had everything I wanted, it had a nice atmosphere, I enjoyed the patrons as well as the staff. The only problem I have, again, is that there is so much air freshener, I cannot breathe well enough to work out.

The equipment is in terrible shape, their card reader doesn't work most of the time, they refuse to explain your contract, and try to trap you in a year long contract while trying to use scare tactics. So far, we are loving this place. It's never over-crowded, the other patrons seem to be really friendly. Everything is clean, the bathrooms are nice. The machine space, cardio space, and body building space are all kind of separate (pardon my phrasing) so you don't feel intimidated. I needed a local gym that does not use bleach (allergy) and this is the ONLY one in town that could guarantee it. It's a pleasant little place to actually work out, that happens to have a couple of small extras. (sauna, tanning, massage chair) And if you can understand how contracts and billing works for internet or cell phone, then you won't have a problem here in that area. I'm excited to keep going!

Charged my account $70+ in less than 2 weeks, was told it was an accidental charge and a refund would be issued. If you sign up for this gym on the monthly plan they advertise, you sign up for a contract that absolutely no one explains to you. It is impossible to cancel the contract for at least a year, regardless of whether you are happy with the club or not, and even if you request a cancel at the end of the year they continue to charge you for the next service month anyway.

I only joined this gym because they offered a sauna. Within a week of joining one of the benches of the women's sauna was broken, and the sauna was routinely covered in baby oil. The patron who sprayed themselves down with baby oil in the sauna literally left the Johnson and Johnson's baby oil sticker in the sauna. I repeatedly informed the front desk of this, showing the guy the pictures of baby oil dripping down the door. I submitted a complaint through their website, after which the bench was finally fixed but baby oil continued to be present. I quit going because I can work out without a sauna at home, and tried to cancel my contract, which is when I found out what a scam their financial processor is.

Save yourself some grief, don't bother signing up. Choose a different facility.

I’ve canceled my membership multiple times with the mainline they give because you can’t cancel in gym, and it still keeps charging my account. I began the process when they told me due to the fact they started the $5 membership, my $22 a month no longer covered bringing a guest and any changes made had to go to the number (not listed on website) they provide. They need to invest in bigger dumbbells. I have to bring in duct tape an tape plates on the 100lbs just to be able to lift what I need to. My son, who is still in high school signed a contract with Pulse Fitness in Bryant shortly after his 18th birthday. The membership fees became too much for him and unfortunately, overdrew his bank account. When he finally came to me with this problem, I called and spoke to Barbara. I was told he owed over 160.00. This was mostly late fees and other related membership fees. Barbara was very understanding that even though he is a legal adult, he is still a high school student that didn't fully understand the implications of signing a contract. Also, he honestly just couldn't afford this. I assumed I would just have to pay off the contact and/or cancellation fees. She was kind enough to eliminate those late fees and just let me pay for the months he owed. This was my son's mistake, so I really appreciate her working with me to clear this up. As far as the quality of the gym, he was very happy with his membership and enjoyed his time there!

Its a great gym if you are serious about fitness. If you are one of those people that like to socialize at the gym and sit around on machines and text then Pulse is not the gym for you. There is just enough space to get your lifting done and get out 24/7. They have great equipment and incorporated the "hammer strength type machines" with there recent upgrade. They also have classes for the ladies, supervised childcare, nicer tanning beds, and hydro massage chairs. Only thing I don't like is that the rate is 21$ flat, no options. Pretty sure the classes cost extra tho. But i don't use a tanning bed much, don't have a kid. I wish they would lower their price for the dudes that just want to bang the weights.

All the complaints have been addressed and dealt with. That goes a long way to me when the owners and management listen to the gym goers, and try to accommodate as much as possible! Great job guys!
Gym is so-so, management is below par, and their classes are excellent....but...to drop in its $7.50 for $5 classes. Explain that. So to get the classes for 5 dollars, you have to buy multiple passes which are fine, but if you don't use them up either by the end if the month, or within one month (I'm not sure which one since I've been told both) they make you buy more and your other o especially just "expire". Not a good way to sell classes

Horrible!!! I joined at the bryant location. I had asked about the child care the provide seemed like a good plan...whatbthey didnt tell me was if i wanted childcare it locked me in a contract. It took me six months to get out. I had called and asked them not to take a payment out this month they said ok we wont. They did. So i called FINALLY got the manager in the phone after trying for months. She agreed to waive the 75 dollar fee to cancel, but refused to give my money back that i had asked them not to take out. If you try and cancel you are SCREWED!! Hot Springs gives you Bryant's number and then Bryant put me on hold for his manager and then I was on hold for over ten minutes. When I called back. They sent me straight to voicemail. Twice!! I'll be going up there. I have been trying to cancel membership and after taking 2 payments out in April they are telling me I had to give a 30 day notice and another payment will be taken out this month! My daughter is a minor so no agreement should have been signed legally anyway! No they are asking for her birth certificate and a copy of the agreement...there was never an agreement signed! When you mail the letter they'll claim they never got it and continue to bill you for a couple extra months. The first month slips by as a thought they didn't get the letter in time. The second month is just free money for them. Management is terrible. The equipment is decent but always greasy feeling. No cleaning? In a gym? Really? You get what you pay for and with this place, it ain't much.

Sweet gym. $10 bucks a month doesn't hurt my wallet either. Always clean smelling and friendly staff makes me feel welcome

I wish I could put zero stars! I utilized the location in Hot Springs and in order to cancel your membership, the Bryant office needs a hand written cancellation letter. The manager of the Hot Springs Branch told me that if I wrote a cancellation letter then she would hand deliver it rather than me mailing it. Needless to say, the Bryant location refuses to cancel my account or refund my any of the money that they owe me. This happened back in June of 2013 and it is not December of 2013 and I am still getting charged and I'm having to open a lawsuit to get my money refunded. They currently owe me over $130 and are still charging me.They also claim that at first when the Hot Springs manager brought my letter they informed her that it would not work unless received through mail, I was never informed about this. When I did send a letter to the Bryant office, they claim they never received it. I guess I'll be mailing yet another cancellation letter! Not to mention I've been in the Bryant area multiple times and I can't drop off a letter to the gym, it has to be received through the mail. This is ridiculous!
