Our daughter has been doing gymnastics here since August last year! For the first 5 months it was going really well! We were all loving it! Her coach at that time was giving clear easy to follow instructions along with demonstrations. However, without warning, in January of this year a new coach was assigned to my daughter's group. Our daughter's progress has came to a hault. The current coach doesn't demonstrate or give clear instructions at all. She hasn't been hands on and often times doesn't even help with 1 specific skill. She will just stand back and watch. It gets so chaotic.
My husband and I felt as though she was thrown into it without proper training. It's very unfortunate that you are paying for something and they don't seem to care to make sure the coach is truly prepared to teach the children the skills you are paying for. My husband and I decided to wait it out in hopes that the new coach would get better but it didn't get better. After 2 months my husband urged me to reach out. At this point, I've reached out on multiple occasions. After the first email, I was completely ignored for several days. I emailed again and got a response and a promise that I would be contacted by another individual. That has been 2 weeks ago at this point. Our daughter loves gymnastics and we love taking her here but we are very disappointed with how this is being handled and we may have to explore other options if this continues....

We enrolled our boys in swim lessons at Sonshine Academy this summer. We have been so impressed with how fast each of the boys progressed! My 6 year old daughter absolutely LOVES the swim program at Sonshine Academy. Two years ago she was scared of the water, so much so that when in a swimming pool she would cling to us terrified to let go even if she could touch in the shallow end. This year, after only two seasons of swim lessons she is jumping in the pool, floating on her back and stomach, fully submerging herself under water, and swimming short distances. Her skill and confidence has amazed us and surpassed all expectations we had for just two seasons of swim lessons. Thank you Sonshine Academy.

Scarlett loves to go to swimming lessons. She asks to go ever year. I like it because the classes are small so they can get more time with each student. They also split up the classes based on your swimmers ability. They are also great at rescheduling your class if you miss one.

I grew up at the original Sonshine when it opened, and now my daughter has grown up at Sonshine, too. She's learning character qualities like caring for others, being a good friend, self-discipline, and perseverance while learning skills like dance and swim. The teachers are helpful and supportive, and the facility is clean and well maintained. My daughter is in her ninth year at Sonshine, and we can't imagine being anywhere else.

We are very pleased with our first experience with Sonshine Academy swimming lessons! My 4 year old was so nervous and needed me poolside for the first couple of lessons, but she gradually built confidence each week and looked forward to class. She had a lot of fun, and I enjoyed seeing her growth.

We did have an issue with an instructor very early on, which was a cause of my daughter’s initial fear and reluctance. However, once it was brought to the director’s attention, the situation was handled quickly and appropriately. I appreciate that my concern as a parent was taken seriously. It made all the difference in the world for my daughter’s experience. We’re both looking forward to swimming lessons next summer!

I’d like my kids to try their Ninja classes. But since attending their camp last summer, the perfunctory course content has been a huge letdown. People around me have keep saying that Sonshine Academy is good, but I have never had the luck to feel it. I tried Ninja Camp in Northwest Arkansas, and it was exactly what I imagined. That was a qualified ninja class.

Our daughter has been part of the Ninja program for over 4 years after she fell in love with the show on tv. Sonshine has been a great community for her to grow personally and athletically. The coaches do a great job building a positive atmosphere for the students and the program coordinator, Nick, has been great with communication when we had questions.

My daughter has been insanely active since the second she could crawl. She’s always on the move. Dance and gymnastics weren’t for her and so we were thrilled when we found ninja at sonshine. She’s been taking for a little over 3.5 years and she’s loved every minute of it. It’s helped her with confidence, hand/eye coordination and so much more. I have been a part of the Sonshine Academy family for 30 years now. I, myself, started out in a playful parenting class as a toddler in 1993. That then led me to become a competitive gymnast for several years and even a couple of years of competitive cheerleading a few years down the road. I now have 3 children (soon to be 4) who all attend gymnastics at Sonshine, one of which is already competing. That’s something that is great about Sonshine… they truly have something to offer for every type of kid and for kids of every age.

Sonshine has been nothing short of amazing the entire time I’ve been a part of the facility. The owners and staff are amazing. I love the family feel including the fact that many of the coaches/staff from my childhood are STILL a part of the Sonshine family, along with previous teammates as well. I think that alone speaks for itself. Everyone at Sonshine makes my children feel seen & feel heard when needed. There has never been a time where I felt my children weren’t well taken care of! My kids have all loved every coach that they have ever encountered.

I have no doubt that Sonshine is helping play a huge role in my children’s lives as far as teaching them respect, perseverance, determination, responsibility & discipline. We love what Sonshine stands for and being a Christian based facility only adds positivity to our experience.

If you are interested in trying a new class, Sonshine will allow your child to try a class for free before signing up. You truly cannot go wrong with this facility and all of the amazing opportunities it offers. I wouldn’t have my kids anywhere else :)

Our youngest has been in Sonshine classes since she was still in diapers. We did the Broadway babies then. She is now in 3rd grade, in dance, and competes with their competition team. Her love of dance grows each year. We love that their studio knows they are kids, and they are dressed in modest outfits for competition and recital.. They pray over these girls before competition. The songs they choose also show they know these are kids. They are age appropriate choices. This is very hard to find in the dance world.

We have been attending Sonshine since my daughter was 3. We started with the preschool combo class. It was a wonderful way for my daughter to find she LOVES dance more then tumbling. We are now on our 7th year with dance at Sonshine. The teachers and the chance to compete in dance has proven to be a great way for my daughter to gain confidence. Great kids birthday place. Very well organized. Due to the nature of the gym you must stay on their schedule so you dont have as much freedom as some kids prefer. They do keep two employees with you the whole time and they are great with the kids. They also help serve the cake, cookies, juice etc and escort kids to and from gym and party room.

The teacher in gymnastics class never made eye contact with my daughter, whenever at the end of the class time she was giving stamps my girl was ALWAYS the last one to receive one. She also was not enthusiastic about her job. She started a little later and ended the class a little earlier. Seemed like she was killing her time there and did not enjoy what she was doing. We are at another studio and I can see how much enthusiasm the teacher has. She stays in contact with every student and my daughter shows great results there while at Sonshine she was rebellious. I believe she behaved that way to get at least some attention from the teacher who openly ignored her.
