I have enjoyed my use as a member there and have never had an issue... up until I reached out to them to cancel my gym membership due to a job relocation.

I kindly reached out to cancel my gym membership and was only met with instructions to leave a written cancel notice at their front office. Upon asking if it can be done via email or online, I was just instructed to bring it in person or have it mailed. Rather troublesome for people that have recently relocated, but on top of that I wish they would adopt a less antiquated cancellation system.

I would not recommend this TO ANYONE gym due to poor communication and lack of transparency. My husband and I recently moved across town and needed to cancel our memberships. When my husband went in person with a written cancellation request, no one mentioned that there would be a $300 cancellation fee. We only found out after the charge appeared on our account. When we tried to reach out for clarification, it was almost impossible to get anyone on the phone — calls went unanswered, and when someone finally responded, they would only text instead of speaking directly. While I understand that fees are stated in the contract, I feel that good business practice means clearly explaining those charges before processing a cancellation. Overall, this experience felt unprofessional and disappointing. I’d caution anyone considering a membership here to ask lots of questions up front. From what I’ve read im other reviews, they’ve done this to other people and don’t seem to care.

They had a drawing in January - “new year, new me” — I went up there, call, sent a fb message, commented on their post, sent multiple text and they didn’t allow me pick up the “giveaway” and then changed their post to “edited” and said i only had a week. I have messages upon messages about getting the giveaway and them not being there and the original screenshot without the edit. Lying does not scream “give me your money for a gym membership”

Great gym! Dropped in over Thanksgiving for a quick workout. Lots of equipment. I prefer free weights, and there was plenty to choose from. Large room in the back was perfect to have some room to do a quick full body/HIIT workout without feeling “in the way” of people lifting. Management was easy to communicate with and drop in rate was very reasonable! Will be back next time I’m in Batesville!

I live 50 minutes from this gym and choose to actively go here because it’s one of the only solid gyms in this small town area! UTC has quality equipment (body building/strong man equipment options). It’s always clean. Very friendly environment. Good lifting tunes if you ever forget your headphones. All around a solid gym. I can’t wait to see how UTC is going to keep evolving.
