I’ve been training with DJ for about 8 months, and honestly, it’s been the best decision I’ve made for my fitness. The gym is super clean, the energy is great, and DJ really knows how to tailor workouts to your goals. He pushes you just enough to stay accountable, without being too intense — which makes it easy to stay consistent. I feel stronger, more flexible, and more confident than ever. Definitely recommend DJ if you’re looking for a trainer who truly cares about your progress!

the equipment is dirty and sweaty. The pad is covered with dust. The most funny thing is when I provide the cleanliness feedback to H. H called us "rude". Sounds like a triggered kid. LOL. Also, he thought he is doctor, providing suspicious medicines and laughable diet suggestions (don't take it). After calling us rude and he seems getting lost and no any reply. Will file in a small amount court to get remaining fund back. Finally, the training has no much effect. and he seems having limited customers.

I’ve worked with DJ since March 2023. Last session was March 2024 and he’s owed me 2k+ since then. See below for more details

I started working with DJ in March 2023 to get in shape for my wedding. I prepaid him 2k in November 2023 to help him with his San Jose gym leak issues. I thought we built a good relationship and he would show me the same respect and consideration when I helped him out but I was quite mistaken.

I informed him that I was pregnant and most likely wouldn’t continue with him in January 2024. My last session was in March 2024 and he owed me 2k+ in refunds. He’s made continuous “promises” that he’ll pay me back. He would never initiate communication first, I would wait for his intended refund date and get crickets unless I text him first.

He has made no effort to pay me back in any sense, shape or form. He gives all sorts of reasons for the delay and is now radio silence.

For anyone that he owes - Please make sure you sue him in small claims asap since they take a while to process. I have done so and the judgement was in my favor. Let’s all continue to hound him until we all get our money back.

I sincerely hope you refund me asap and any other unfortunate people that you still owe.

Please do not be fooled by the reviews. My suspicion is that when people demand their money back and he does not follow through.

1. Had me do an intense workout that lasted in a week long migraine that I took drugs for all week. I still came into our regular sessions.
2. He will claim I asked to move my sessions from Tu/thu to Tu/Friday (because I had a meeting pop up), I never asked for a reschedule of a scheduled session more than 24 hours in advance. He was to allow me to go into the gym for "extra time" (not personal training) on Saturdays at 10AM. The first month I was with him he cancled every single Saturday with the excuses: 1. car break in 2. allergies/ cold 3. Pge shutdown 4 migraine. For an entire month I could not get in on Saturday. When I changed my time from tu/Fri (in adanvce for the following week), he used that as justification for constantly rescheduling my sessions with less than 24 hours notice. I had had enough after a rescheduled session was bumped three times (my usual tuesday session to wednesday. Then he bumped me in favor of another client. then bumpted me to saturday. Had a bogus excuse saturday. then bumped that to sunday. then said was going to church instead. and I said please refund my money and his whole personality changed.

he tried to reconcile, and I worked out with him again this behavior started happening again. Another employee at his other gym he had to cover for, and asked if I could do the nextday. I said I couldn't, and clearly he doesn't have enough time for hhis roster of clients, and so I'm out and like a refund of how ever many sessions went unused. Like a petulant child b, his demeanor rapidly changed again. It was actually very scary and made me intensely uncomfortable. I talked to others about his behavior and they found it bizarre. He rescheduled on ME with less than 1 hour notice, and then was angry with ME asking for a refund. He probably targets people that are weak or have been sick, hoping there's less of a chance they'll fight back.

Please pay me the $800 you promised you'd send, and at least I will amend this to say you stuck to your word at the end, but if you are overwhelmeed with clients, you are unable to handle the workload and refund your clients the money. I wish you the best otherwise and hope you will not scam other people going forward

Easily the nicest, caring, and passionate trainers you will find anywhere in the Bay. Every session is geared exactly to your needs and there is always something new to learn. Even after my countless sessions with them, I am still learning new things!

I have been working out with DJ for about 15 months now, increasing from twice a week to three sessions a week. This is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been in, and DJ personalizes my workouts to work on my goals (building strength, improving flexibility, weight loss). I get bored easily with some workouts, and in the past would never set foot in a gym alone. Now, I look forward to working out and feel so much better, and really enjoy that every workout is unique. I’ve noticed a huge difference in strength and flexibility and it’s much easier for me to lift and carry things, it doesn’t tire me out like it used to. DJ focuses on proper form and safety, and is really encouraging and positive. He has a good intuition and knows when to push a bit harder but will also listen when I need to go a bit easier. I feel like I can communicate openly with DJ and he will listen and take it seriously.

My review is not for the whole experience because I haven’t got there yet but just in my first meet and interaction it has been a really good experience. I’ve been speaking with DJ and he’s been very professional very transparent and really nice and friendly. As a woman I don’t usually like to deal with men but he’s been really cool and was able to find something that I think will work for me. I officially start on Sunday so we will see how it goes. I never knew how to use any of the equipment at a regular gym, and always felt weird about going. This review is VERY overdue. I've been a client of DJ's for about a year. He is very knowledgeable and knows what he's doing in terms of helping you reach your fitness goals. He has also helped me adjust some of my nutrition, which has been a major obstacle for me on my weight loss journey. With his guidance, I was able to reach my initial goal of losing the baby weight I was holding onto for a few months. Now, I have new goals and he's helping me reach them.

The facility itself is very clean, organized, and there's a variety of equipment available. No session feels identical to another. Even a year later, I still feel challenged by the workouts at 1Body and look forward to the next session!

I’ve been working with the Owner DJ, for the past 2 months! I’m so haply that I made the choice to join this studio! I’m taking this as an investment in myself and DJ has made that choice so worth it!! He is so patient but yet pushes me enough to get it done! Very nice and friendly staff. Great place to have 1 on 1 training sessions. I so far booked ~15 sessions and will do more!
Girlfriend approved! Hock built real muscles on me. Every session is good workout. I can feel myself being more powerful and energetic.
Very responsive, friendly and professional. Hock is professionally educated so that the sessions max out the result but will not hurt me. He cares about both weights and forms, with helpful tips to prevent me from hurting myself in my everyday life. He cares about personal goals and tailor the trainings to fit my need (upper body building).

I started going to 1Body a couple of months ago and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for support in their physical fitness journey! In particular, I am really happy with my personal trainer, the facility, and the progress I have made.

DJ is a great personal trainer and the owner - he's friendly, supportive, and you can really feel he cares about your progress and health. He likes throwing in random client appreciation freebies (protein powder, energy drinks, a free session, car detailing if you can believe it!), which are always a surprise delight! He's excellent at establishing a rapport with his clients, as well as pushing you to work harder than you thought you could, but not more than you can handle. DJ is also a great texter, and scheduling appointments is a breeze with how fast the responses are.

The facility is clean and well-maintained, and such a relief to have during COVID - usually, it is just me and DJ in the facility on the weekend. During the week, it is usually DJ, me, and another trainer and their trainee. The facility is big enough that you don't worry too much about social distancing, but also provides a huge variety in workouts that you can do. Water and towels are provided, because you will be working up a sweat!

Finally, I have been feeling great since starting my workouts here. DJ provides a nutritional plan based on your fitness goals, and my goal was weight-loss. I am pre-diabetic, so he tailored a plan for me, and I have been feeling stronger and fitter, and eating more than I thought I would! We weighed in recently and I am indeed shrinking, and am in-between clothing sizes, which is super exciting!

If you are looking for support in your physical fitness, I would 100% recommend 1Body Training Studio. :)

My experience with 1 Body Training Studio has been simply amazing. The studio is clean and well equipped. I work with DJ, who is the owner as well as a trainer. We started off with an overall body assessment. He took the time to listen to my goals and develop a meal plan that works for me. I stumbled upon 1 Body Training Studio through a google search and I am so happy I did.

I was ready for a lifestyle change and working with the owner and trainer DJ has been a perfect fit into my journey.

DJ started off with a comprehensive assessment and gathering of history. We discussed my goals and he has implemented a plan that I’ve been able to follow through on that has been both fun and challenging.

The studio is clean, well equipped and spacious.

DJ is so motivating, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, personable, and makes every session a great time. He reminds me everyday that’s I come first! Not only did I find a trainer that I trust and have been achieving my goals with but also a friend.

One way of finding out inside information about a company is by reading the reviews. I looked through most of the reviews of personal trainers in the
Tri- City area and I was drawn to 1Body Training Studio.
Clients commended DJ a lot. I called and talked to him and during the phone interview, I was already convinced that he will be able to help me.

I’m 57 years of age, who has knee problems ( cortisol shots, fluid buildup),
considered obese, has high blood sugar and low self- confidence.
I’ve only been training close to 3 months and I already feel so much better inside and out. My numbers are down, gained muscle, lost body fat and gotten good compliments from a lot of people.

I can’t thank coach DJ enough for motivating me a lot. He’s very knowledgeable, such an encourager and always positive.
He’s very relatable and kind.
His workouts are never the same, which makes it more fun and challenging.
I always look forward for my next session.

This place is very clean and organized. Well ventilated and I feel safe training one on one specially during this pandemic.
I leave the gym sore each time but I feel good and proud of myself as well.

I started my journey just over a month ago with DJ, at 1Body Training Studio. Prior to starting I really didn't know what to expect. However, I was fed up with crash diets, and really wanted to get in the gym, I just needed that jump start. Since training with DJ it's been AMAZING!!! I'm doing more reps each week, and I'm getting stronger. This week will be my first weigh in since my journey. SUPER EXCITED!!!

The 1 Body Training Studio, is simply amazing. The personal trainers here are genuinely focused on your progress and care about your growth as a person. I’ve been going to this place for about 1.5 months now and I can already tell that my body is going through a healthy transformation. The personal trainers take the time to develop a meal plan that works for you (including meal plans that cater for vegetarian/vegan preferences.) They also provide you with healthy energy drinks (with BCAA) and protein shakes/bars. I’ve lost about 15lbs in this time frame and it feels like it was a very healthy and sustainable weight loss. So far, every workout has been different and I can feel places of my body developing muscles that I typically couldn’t strength when working out on my own. Overall, this place is worth every penny and really makes you feel like your giving your body the proper care it deserves.

Long over due:

Working out can be a humbling experience. Its wonderful to have someone positive and educated in your corner to instruct and shepherd your fitness goals.

Let’s face it, working out is hard! If you have a lovely and clean environment and someone championing (and correcting) your form it’s easier.

Highly recommend taking that step and finding a clean, safe, productive environment like 1Body that can help you meet your goals. Show up and the trainer will help you do the work.

This gym is very clean. The training is one on one so social distancing is not a problem. Coach DJ gives a very thorough and challenging workout. The workouts are designed to involve multiple different muscles in a single move. The workouts vary at every training session so you are not repeating the same exercise. He also provides guidance on food consumption and workouts on off-days to keep the calories burning. The workout schedule is very flexible. I highly recommend this gym!

Excellent workout studio. Awesome location right across from the ACE/Amtrak train station very convince for us commuters. DJ he a very motivational throughout the workout great personal trainer. DJ is definitely the best trainer I have worked with. He is super nice person and never lose patience in listening to my goals and explaining what are the best for me.

At the beginning, he gave me a detailed, colorful, customized diet plan which explains how many calories and recommended ratio of each components I should take in one day, how to do the measurement in each meal, etc. I go the gym twice a week, so he also gave me some homework to do in the remaining days.

During the sessions, he makes sure that he pushes me just to the right extent in every session, also he is kind enough to give me some treats (protein bars) or rewards (one free session!!) to motivate my hard working!!! I've never seen such a trainer who is truly thinking on your side and pursues results like it's on his own body! He makes sure my form is correct for every exercise. He's also professional and has medical knowledge, so he can explain very well what we are doing and why we are doing and what are the benefits.

Also, the price is fair, you can choose from several different packages which offer different rates. And he has pretty flexible schedule, you can ask him any reasonable questions through texts and he will always reply super patiently :)

I have been enjoying every training session with DJ and I highly recommend DJ to anybody who is looking for a fitness trainer!

DJ is a great personal trainer. I signed up for several sessions with him. He sets up a routine that works for you and your body. The workouts are very well structured and have you feeling great afterwards. He is very knowledgable about health and fitness. The workouts are customized and he makes any necessary changes as you go. Depending on how you are feeling that particular day. He pays very close attention to your body and your response to the workouts. If you are looking for great intense workouts that will give you the body you desire, this gym is for you. After 2 weeks I'm already seeing the results from the great intense workouts. The gym itself is very clean and spacious. Always parking available and located in a safe area of Fremont. You definitely won't regret joining 1 Body Training Studio.

I have been working with DJ for about 8 sessions now. DJ is very patient, friendly, and easy to work with. I have never tried personal training before so I was a little hesitant at the beginning and didn't know what to expect. I have to say after the first few sessions I knew I am working with the right person. I now have more motivation to exercise and always look forward to the next session. DJ also explained to me how nutrition plays an important role in achieving my goals. I know this is something I need to work on and I promise I will eat enough to make sure I have the energy to work out during the morning sessions!

The body fitness studio is a really nice gym and has excellent trainers especially Althea she is nice and caring and talks to see how your doing. DJ is a nice and has some great attitude. It’s a good coincident that my little cousin his friend’s with Dj’s son. The only think can improve on if they have the list of exercises online instead of paper. It also fine if they give a copy of paper of exercises to do.

Have worked out with several trainers over the years. DJ is the by far the best in getting the most out of you and tailoring the workout to your need. My wife and I have worked with him and he has been phenomenal. These new digs are fantastic and the perfect ambiance for a great work out. I really enjoy working with DJ. He's helping me with a workout and diet plan. The initial workout was difficult but he has a good balance of pointing out areas I need to fix, and positive reinforcement. The reinforcement comes off as genuine and not just drone trying to gas you up. I look forward to my future training sessions at 1 body!
