There are a few things that really need attention. First, the equipment almost never gets upgraded. I’ve been a member since high school—nearly 12 years—and about 90% of the machines are still the same. Out of those, many are constantly out of order, and when they do get “fixed,” they rarely work properly.

The tanning beds are another issue. They have 3 and they are all extremely outdated. Most of the bulbs are burned out, and it doesn’t seem like any maintenance or cleaning has been done on them.

But the biggest problem by far is the lack of cleanliness. The bathrooms and locker rooms are disgusting! It honestly seems like they’re only cleaned a couple times a week, if that. Because of this, the gym often smells terrible, especially in the summer when it’s hot and the air doesn’t circulate. You end up working out in a space that smells like a dirty bathroom and it’s gross and disappointing.

This gym has potential, but it needs a lot of work. It’s long overdue for serious upgrades, better maintenance, and maybe a more consistent cleaning schedule than what they have now.

1 Oak Health Club has been stealing money from me monthly for years. I canceled my membership well before 2020 and discovered they were still charging me monthly. I reported them to my bank for fraud and got the payments stopped back in March and now they are threatening to send collections after me because they're still trying to charge me. They're nothing but a bunch of thieves!!!

I have come into this gym on two occasions to sign up and both times the person working the desk had no knowledge or competency about signing me and my family of five up. He could not even get us day passes. This gym missed out on a membership for a family of five. Stupid way of conducting business.

I’m not one to sit and write reviews but I had time today. Im rating this gym a 4/10. It gets the job done and it’s convenient. Either than that, it’s dirty all the time and when I say dirty, I mean dirty. There are cob webs everywhere, the weights and machines are covered in dust and if you ever get a chance just look up at the ceiling. It’s disgusting. To be honest, the place doesn’t look up to code, but that’s just me. The machines are mediocre, half the time they’re not working correctly, and when you do say something to a worker, they put a sign on it for 10 minutes then take it off. I’ve been told the owners “just don’t care” which is sad hear. I understand that the monthly dues are affordable for majority of people and you’re getting what you’re paying for. I think they have an real opportunity here and they’re missing their mark. I would hate to see another new owner of this establishment fail. They need to do better before it’s too late.

As I conclude my two-year journey at this incredible health club, I'm compelled to express my deepest gratitude to the entire staff, particularly Alyssa and John. Their dedication, expertise, and kindness have made my transformation nothing short of remarkable.

I joined this health club almost two years ago, weighing 165 lbs postpartum (photo on left). With Alyssa's guidance, support, and personalized training, I've achieved my goal weight of 125 lbs (photo on right)! Alyssa's expertise in fitness is unparalleled, and her kindness and encouragement made every session a joy.

I also appreciate the reasonable payment options for one-on-one training, which made it accessible for me to achieve my goals.

John's tireless efforts to keep the facility spotless are also worthy of praise. The cleanliness and organization of the gym created a comfortable and motivating environment for me to work out.

I spoke with Nicole over the phone and she gave me all the information that I needed. She was polite, kind and informed. She did not try to gate-keep information like other gyms. She convinced me that this is the gym I should join. I am 8 months pregnant & wanting to get healthy for my first delivery and new lifestyle. Let's get this straight:
-Gym equipment for the most part is outdated or worn out.
-Women restroom stank.
-Not allowed to use the studio room unless your taking classes & there is no room to do yoga.
-Some equipment is off limits because they lock the doors. ( Couldn't use medicine ball)
-Some of the staff are hit or miss.
-disinfectant spray was out usually when I came w/ no staff or the desk even looking to see if there were necessary restocking to be done.

Been going to this gym spot for years. Actually though the few different owners now. This gym has took some favorites away but it still a nice, clean, and great place to get your workout done.

They do provide some pre and post workout drinks beside water and power-aid l, muscle milk..

Many different equipment to work with, they provide spray and paper to wipe down the equipment, not everybody done it like they should but it is provide. There are tvs with sports and news on although you can't hear to can read sub- titles. There's music playing loudly. Upbeat workout music. But you can always bring you headphones lol if music is not your style..

There is a hot and wet sauna in both areas as well although I do believe the wet sauna is out of use on the woman size currently.

Lockers are also provide in the woman and men changing rooms. There is 8 private showers always available if you going straight to work from there to get ready. There're plugs available next to sinks to use for blow dryers and such. At least on the woman side not sure about the men side as far as plugs.

They also provide a hydromassage at this facility and it worth it again spray and paper towels are available to wipe down before and after use. If you like to use go to front desk and inquire about it.

They also have tanning beds available here as well just speak to front desk.

Some classes are available such as Cycle, Zumba, Yoga just speak to the gents and lady's at the desk. Personal trainers are also available again speak to front desk. All and all this is a nice and well maintained gym!!

After working out at other gyms in Oakdale and Modesto, Fit Republic (in Oakdale) offers a friendly staff and a large variety of machines and free weights.

I am an early morning person, so I enjoy running into regulars on a daily routine. When something breaks or needs a surface repaired, they are quicker than most!

And…its affordable! I could always pay more, but I simply want variety and a temperature controlled building to get a good workout in.

I used to go to this gym and the comments about the staff are right on. They can be extremely rude. I was using the women's restroom when a male walked in. I addressed one of the girls at the desk and she gave me this blank star then stated, oh that's a maintenance man. I asked her why he didn't announce himself when he went into the women's rest room and she stated she and the staff were to busy to watch every thing that goes on. The only busyness I saw was the "girls" at the front desk texting and chatting amongst each other. I was going to give this gym another chance but when I see some of the responses to the customer concerns on here, there is no way this gym is getting my money! The responses to the one star reviews from the owner are defensive!! What makes me really agitated is the owner or whoever ends with God Bless! Really! You want to be sarcastic to your customers, then say God Bless! Is this your way of painting yourself to be a good person after being defensive, sarcastic and unhelpful? The correct thing to do is address your customers privately and let them know they are valuable since they pay your check. You don't know how to run a gym much less anything about customer service. All those four and five star reviews, must be friends, family, or people who haven't experienced your rudeness!

I signed up at this gym March 3 to be exact. I used their services 4 times before COVID happened. For the month of April I was charged my monthly bill. I did not have the amount in my bank account so I ended up not paying that month, I did not know that they would accumlate the charges and charge my card for the month of May. I should've contacted them than but I didn't I let it go. I figured they would freeze my account since they werent providing services because of COVID. My sister has a memebership in riverbank and was only being charged $1! So May comes around, My dues are due on the first of the month, well they charged my card the 4th! and they charged me for the month of April plus my annual fees which is 39.99. My total came out to 83. 98. Twice! Because I have my boyfriends membership linked to my card as well. At this point I emailed the location and asked for refund. They have not rendered any services so why am I being charged. After going back and fourth with the owner. She stated they sent out emails and since she didnt receive an email from me she didnt freeze my account. (I did not receive any emails, also later on was told it could have ended up in my spam!)She justified that they had been offering virtual services and lending out equipment it was all on their page. She said they would not give me a refund but instead offered me a free month once they open and she froze my account. I left it at that. I did not want to have to call my bank . They contacted me telling me they were open now for the month of June. So I called them to unfreeze my account and pay what I owe for the month of June. Since I unfrooze it June 17 I only paid $10. Well I attempted to go to the riverbank location and they told me I could not use any other location other than the one in Oakdale. They are privately owned and seperate from every other fit republic. I contacted the manager which is ELLE. She was very rude. Kept talking over me. She told me riverbank and them have had issues but I am able to use the modesto location. They would open today. The one on Dale has been open so I figured she was talking about the one on Mchenry So I waited for today. Modesto location on Mcherny is still not open and when I called this morning and spoke with Melanie and asked her what location in modesto was I able to use she said Idk why my manager would tell you that We are a private franchise. At this point I just canceled my membership. I do not recommend this GYM, Idk who is managing this location now but they do not honor their customers. I truly attempted to work with them but received poor service.

i have to say i used to think this was a good gym, even though i didnt sign up their i went to this gym since the other ones were far away from me. on 3/19/20 this one was the only one open all others were closed until further notice. i asked to speak to the owner told him the situation and he still refused to let me work out. so i asked why can all of the other people there could work out that day and i was told that this one was a privately own and dosent attach itself to the fit republic but they still sells their clothing and the sigh still has the same logo and name as the corporate facilites and all members no matter what gym they sighed up at can check in , but now they dont allow it even if you have a private membership so i called another one in oakland and told them what was happening and i was told this isnt allowed if you are franchised with fit republic you need to follow its rules , she told me that they have to do this unless if this location wants to change their name. personally i wouldnt waste your time or energy at this gym the equipment is outdated and their management is a joke. defiantly note work your money to sighn up at this location

Used to work here and now work out here. The atmosphere has improved over time, the music is usually loud and motivating. Some of the equipment is in disrepair and is slow to get fixed. All in all a pretty typical commercial gym experience
