1RM Performance SOUTH is the southern location of 1RM Performance. This south location is operated by Melissa Myers in Crown Point Pacific Beach San Diego 92109. It is a strength and conditioning and sports performance gym where junior high, high school, and college athletes train. (the other northern location is operated by Bobby Congalton in Sorrento Valley)

I have been training with 1RM on and off since early high school. I can confidently say that throughout both my time as an athlete & now a young adult working to stay active and strong, Mel and her team are well equipped to help me meet my fitness goals, whatever they may be. My workouts have evolved as I have, and I genuinely enjoy coming into the gym where I know I’ll be challenged, motivated, and met by trainers deeply invested in my journey— it’s also just FUN! Can’t imagine a better place to train.

I’ve been training at 1RM with Melissa for the past 2 years to improve my beach volleyball performance. My strength, vertical, and overall health have all noticeably improved. Melissa incorporates velocity-based training tools, which I really appreciate — it’s motivating to see the numbers and track progress in real time. She knows how to push you while keeping training focused and smart. Highly recommend for athletes who want to take their game to the next level.

Melissa understands athletic goals, forms elite, specific plans to reach those goals, and pushes her athletes in a healthy manner. During my time playing D1 lacrosse, I went from sitting on the bench to starting every game after one summer with 1RM. I gained 10ths of healthy muscle mass that was reflected in my increase in speed, lateral agility, and ability to control my opponent. She is always updating her repertoire of workouts based on the most recent studies. Workout with Melissa if you want to push yourself and see real results.

I’ve been training with Melissa and 1rm since 2014, when I was playing competitive volleyball, and I truly can’t imagine my fitness journey without her. I would not have played in college without her help and training. Over the years, my goals and life have evolved, but Melissa has always been able to tailor my workout plans to whatever my current fitness goals are. She strikes a perfect balance of focusing on strength and agility, as well as injury prevention.
The atmosphere of the gym is fun, encouraging, and motivating. Again, I’m not a college athlete anymore and am not training for anything specific, but continue to train here because I love the environment and trust Melissa to help me stay fit, healthy and injury free. The other coaches I’ve worked with at 1rm are also fantastic!

I have been training with Melissa for over 8 years, and there is no better trainer in San Diego! I started training with her when I was in middle school, and she has always been my go to trainer ever since. She has helped prepare me for success in my club, high school, college, and now professional volleyball career. There is no one better! She has the experience and the skill to help prepare us as athletes both mentally and physically, and has become a dear mentor and friend. I would not be a professional athlete or have experienced the success I had in college without her training and preparation. I recommend all the athletes I know to train with her!

I’ve been working out at to 1RM for the past 3 years and during that time I have noticed such a huge difference in my overall strength that has carried over to my improved play on the court as a volleyball player.
