Overall this is a good gym but the quality of service deteriorated recently.

1. Lacking sufficient cardio equipment. Most of stair machines are not working because their touch screen are exposed in direct sunlight for long time so that either the LCD display or the touch sensing modules got burnt by sunlight.

2. Zumba classes create a parking nightmare from time to time.

3. Gym etiquette is not enforced: there are members
- overloading themselves and smashing weights of weight-lifting machines, causing equipment damages and unavailability
- sitting a machine for long time resting and working on their phones (side-effect: I was often asked “how many sets do you have?” even if I had just started using an equipment for less than 30 seconds)
- shaving in the bathroom clogging the handwashing sinks

I love the staff and environment but a lot of the machines are breaking down and not being fixed. Only one stair master works, multiple treadmills are down and weight machines have a lot down too. I have to try to do free weights instead of the machines because they aren’t working. Please fix these issues 🫶🏻 I do love this place but over 10 machines down isn’t ok.

Many of the stair master machines have not work for many months.

Between the treadmills and stair climbers over half are always broken. I have sent multiple requests through their app over the last year since 8 of the 10 stairclimbers are out of service and nothing has been done. I have talked to the staff (who is lovely) and they are also frustrated with the lack of corporates response to fix these. Why am I paying to use this place when what I want to use is not even in working order? Ridiculous.

Have to share this experience. We're new to town, came in to the gym to check it out for my daughter. Vivian, the angel at the front desk, immediately hit it off with my daughter. She took the time and effort to talk with us about town and give us "insider" tips, but mainly was just so super nice and welcoming. As for the gym, very spacious and clean. Fully stocked with all the appropriate machines. Atmosphere is very condusive for a good workout. Great experience.

This has to be the worst 24-hour fitness I’ve ever been to, and I genuinely want to cancel my membership. I’ve visited gyms in Texas, New York, North Carolina, SoCal, and Florida. None has been this bad. It’s just not worth it to pay these fees when the place is always filthy with overflowing trash cans, huge wads of hair and trash everywhere. Several benches are broken and not securely anchored to the floor, posing a serious hazard. I almost fell off a bench when I went to lift it because the seat part was hanging on by one screw. Missing dumbbells and one of the squat racks doesn’t even have J-hooks, so you can only use it for deadlifts. Staff have said it’s been missing for a very long time, and corporate doesn’t plan on replacing it. This place is awful and should be replaced with a Crunch Fitness or a gym that’s better equipped. Even the parking lot is disgusting, with trash everywhere and displaced people living out of their cars in the spots right outside the gym.

After Closing the 24hr Fitness in Pleasant Hill unfortunately.

We force to change to other gym. We end up moving to the one in Brentwood since the one in Walnut Creek is impossible to park even the long drive is 20 minutes from our house.

At the beginning the gym was decent so we didn't mind the long drive since the gym got a good food print with good machine and clean pool but now for the last month the bathrooms are VERY DIRTY MUST THE WOMENS and some machines needs to repair faster.

We like this gym and I know other users as well but hope the executive manager for this gym read this review and do something immediately before they loose more members

Would give it 5 stars but the men's locker room always smells like urine and sweat everytime I go in there, I'm not expecting tulips and laundry detergent but its overwhelming, wouldn't hurt to add some ventilation.

Besides it being crowded most of the time, I still prefer this location over Antioch and Walnut Creek. Antioch is claustrophobic, and Walnut Creek's parking lot is a nightmare. This location has a wide open floor with lots of natural light. People are generally friendly too

I’ve been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for a while, but my experience has been consistently disappointing. The cleanliness is a major issue—bathrooms are often disgusting, with dirty floors, overflowing trash, and a general lack of upkeep. The rest of the facility isn’t much better, with equipment frequently left uncleaned. Customer service is another letdown; staff are often unhelpful or dismissive when addressing concerns. Trying to resolve billing issues is a nightmare—expect long hold times when calling, with little resolution afterward. They have signs posted saying something about the area being cleaned up several times a day or something like that, but I literally spent 2 hours cleaning the shower I planned on using and the area around my Locke after working out for 2 hours already, because that's how unclean and unsanitary it was. For being a establishment in Brentwood I expected way better than this. The gym it's self is very nice but the cleanliness was just appalling and until that changes I will continue to tell people who ask if they should go there, not to because of how absolutely disgusting it is kept. I’ve been in this area for two weeks and have visited many gyms — from Antioch, San Ramon, San Jose, Dublin, Livermore, Tracy… So far, this is the only place I actually want to come back to more than once. The showers are clean and odor-free, the pool is filtered on time and properly, and the jacuzzi is pleasant to enter — and after using it, your body doesn’t smell for two days like in some other places. The gym itself has good ventilation and air circulation, so it doesn’t smell of sweat. Unfortunately, because of my work I’m always on the move, so I won’t be able to visit this location often.

As a business owner I was disappointed to be treated the way I was going into a well known company & gym like 24 , nobody to greet me when I walked in to do the guest pass and then when the employee finally came over to check the front desk he was extremely rude. Not professional at all. I said I think I’m good to go since I completed the guest pass self sign in, he then rolled his eyes & rudely said “Um well No your not!”And when I addressed that he works there so should have some level of kindness-customer service for guests he mocked me and said “okay no problemo” since I’m Hispanic .. sarcasm I’m not sure so that rubbed me the wrong way also. I let him know it’s suppose to be a positive environment not negative. He then stated “let’s start over” I said great! Thank you!

This gym is very dirty. The bathrooms are very dirty. Their maintenance does nothing. Their bikes are always broke. None of them work none of the digital so you cannot read or understand what your body is doing with a bike that only thing works on is the pedals. How do they have cycle class when the bikes don’t even work properly. There’s always dirt at the bottom of the pool. This is another thing about being clean. This place is not clean.

I go the 24-hour fitness in Brentwood and am greeted at the door by Alexia who is very welcoming. She knows I like to play basketball and always tells me what the foot traffic is like. Just the other day she told me about all the new treadmills as well as the high traffic time.

Furthermore, Alexia speaks with a warmth sort of confidence and makes me feel like I am surrounded by family. I walk in and feel like I am home.

The rest though is negative. You’ve seen the dusty pics. The equipment that has been through the wringer. Cardio machines out of order for like 6months+. Even the paper towel dispensers are in bad shape lol.

The gym etiquette is trash here. I go at 6am so you’d think it’s be a bit better crowd. People don't pick up after themselves, no one wipes their station/machine down, leaving random dumbbells/plates wherever they want, putting them back in random order, Singular people grabbing like 3 diff machines at once.

Why am I still going? 24hr fitness is usually a decent chain when I travel for work and this one is close to home.

I got a 3-day online guest pass and went to the gym, but the sales agent refused to honor it because I had a previous membership. I left and checked the gym’s policy online, which clearly states that if your membership or guest pass expired over six months ago, you are eligible for a new guest pass.

I called the gym to confirm, and the person I spoke with seemed confused—he hadn’t even checked the date of my last pass. Once he did, he asked me to come back. However, when I returned, he incorrectly claimed I had visited the day before, which I hadn’t. Again, he seemed unsure of how to use the system, but eventually found that my last guest pass was issued over six months ago.

Despite this, he still refused to give me the pass. Another sales rep was more helpful and tried to assist, but said the manager told him the policy requires at least one year since the last guest pass—which directly contradicts what’s stated on their website.

To start off I was at home in Pittsburg and i wanted to go to the gym to play basketball because i work nights and i was up at 2am, i called the Brentwood location 2 times to see if the court was open at this time and nobody answered the phone. I waited till about 3:30 am to go to the gym and when I arrived the front desk staff was sitting at the front talking to a member. He informed me that the court does not open until 4 am so I went upstairs to go stretch. Came downstairs at 4:05 am checked the court and it was still locked. Walked around the gym to find a worker and nobody was in the gym. I figured someone would be here soon so I started to do a workout and still nobody shows up. It is now 5:00. It’s sad to say that 24 fitness clubs have terrible management and ownership. This is a total liability to have the club open with no associate working.

If cleanliness and maintenance matter to you, avoid the 24 Hour Fitness located at 5961 Lone Tree Way in Brentwood, CA at all costs. From the moment you step inside, you'll immediately notice layers of dust and countless dust bunnies scattered everywhere. The locker rooms appear neglected, with obvious signs they haven't been swept or cleaned regularly. For instance, a messy floor covered in baby powder-like mess was in the men's locker room when I arrived and was still there roughly an hour and 20 minutes later when I left, showing that the floor gets cleaned less than once per hour... Walking barefoot is simply out of the question—the floors are filthy, and you're better off not risking what you might step in.

The showers are also absolutely revolting, cluttered with trash, suspicious fluids, several have such low water pressure that you can't even shower in them, and some emit a foul smell that makes it hard to believe they're cleaned with any regularity. The steam room doesn't fare much better as the floors are inexplicably covered in damp dust bunnies, creating a grimy, unsanitary environment that defies common sense. These areas are supposed to promote wellness, but instead, they make you feel dirtier and uncomfortable.

The equipment situation here is equally disappointing. Numerous cardio machines are outright broken, and the few functioning machines available are clearly neglected and in various states of disrepair. The so-called cardio area is oddly under-equipped, with far fewer machines than the ample space would comfortably accommodate. This all shows an obvious lack of attention to the gym members' needs, suggesting management is disinterested or simply indifferent to cleanliness.

Staff at this location seem to prioritize membership sales above all else, seldom leaving the front desk except for occasional, lackluster attempts at superficial cleaning with a dust mop. True cleaning efforts are glaringly absent—except, curiously, at the front desk and sales floor, where protein bars and powders are prominently displayed. Having visited numerous 24 Hour Fitness locations throughout the bay area, several In-Shape Fitness centers, and other gyms in Texas and Montana, this location is unquestionably the worst I've experienced. It's astonishingly run-down, unacceptably dirty, and thoroughly neglected. My wife and I, despite living nearby, will gladly drive further to Antioch or even Walnut Creek to avoid this filthy, poorly maintained facility.

Huge shoutout to Christian at 24 Hour Fitness in Brentwood!
This dude seriously makes a difference. Every time I come in, he’s at the front with a positive vibe, always greeting people and hyping them up. There’ve been days I didn’t feel like working out, but just hearing him say something motivational gave me the push I needed. He remembers people, brings great energy, and honestly makes the gym feel more like a community.Christian deserves some real recognition, 24 Hour is lucky to have him!

I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for over 10+ years and have consistently had a great experience at most locations, but none better here at Brentwood location. It’s right off of the Hwy 4 bypass, and parking is great(but gets packed on peak hours). The free weights area is well-maintained and has a great selection of barbells, dumbbells, weights and equipments. This location also has a variety of cardio machines, especially treadmills with TVs. The gym is always very clean and tidy, which makes for a more enjoyable workout. Best of all, the gym has a positive and motivating atmosphere, and a lot of friendly members and staffs. Thank you, Brentwood 24 for providing such a great fitness experience!

Gym is very dirty and a lot of the equipment is broken. Manager is unkind and speaks in a very condescending tone to members and employees, depending on the circumstances. I’ve witnessed him raise his voice at a member attempting to cancel their membership & say “I don’t know why you have an attitude with me right now.” Sales manager will tell you you’re paying XYZ to get the sale and you will end up paying something completely different. Both managers do not value or care about their employees time and will put sales over their employees time/wellbeing any day. Entire base of this location is to make sales, as opposed to providing the best care for the members, most likely because the place is up for sale and the managers need to prove that revenue comes in. You are better off working anywhere else, unless you are okay with being micromanaged and talked down to. Same thing with signing up as a member; you will most likely get treated better by the management anywhere else. The rest of the employees are great and deserve better management.

This place is never not crowded. Well, maybe at 3 am. Really hard to do any kind of structured training when your exercises are determined by what weird thigh machine is available.

Facility needs a deep clean, and please hire an air duct cleaning service. ALL THE RETURNS FOR A/C HAVE FILTH. Please advocate for healthy living, members are breathing in Dust and Allergens. Must hire a contractor as per scope of work cannot be accessed thru janitors within 24hourfitness legally. HEALTH of members must be prioritized. That goes for all 24hourfitness locations.

I agree with the other members that have had issues with broken equipment uncleliness and no results try calling corporate but you never get a hold of them and if you get their rating, that makes this club's rating look incredible. As others have said, stay away. Really sad because I've used 24 Hour Fitness in other cities for years and they were wonderful put this one gives a bad name to the whole industry.

it seems like every manager that has been here does the absolute least maintenance possible. covers on equipment can be torn for months before being replaced , lights out in the showers and sauna can be out for months and my biggest complaint is only 1 out of 8 showers in the mens locker room has decent water pressure. usually low water pressure can be fixed in 5 or 10 minutes . to not do basic maintenance is " slumlord" behavior. Ive been to other 24 hour fitness that are so much better maintained. The staff is friendly and location is close to me . I would give 5 stars if maintenance was better . I was at 4 stars but keep dropping stars because of lack of simple upkeep.
