Smells horrible inside. I did not get to even give this place a shot because they wouldn’t allow me to do the free trial I signed up for without a local ID. I’m a new resident and only have a TX license. This policy was not listed anywhere when I signed up online and it’s impossible for me to know if I want to join a gym without being able to try it. Based on the smell alone, I’d pass.

The reason I decided to come to 24/7 was because they had coaches that can help you as a beginner.
I am thankful to have had Angel and Richie as coaches to help me get started with my exercise routines and gain confidence.

The only thing I don't like is that you can bring a buddy with you but it has to be the same person every time.

Victor is the worst front desk customer service team member I have ever dealt with in the 24 hour franchise. Recommend giving him a lot less shifts! I have been a current memember since 2018. Instead on looking me up to see my membership he threatened to call security and trespass me instead of doing his job and looking me up. Thankfully and really nice personal trainer saw what was happening, did his job and looked me up on the computer and everything was good from there...

Imagine having a guy named Victor try to trespass you from a gym you have a year membership in and have been a member since 2018 just cuz he doesn't want to look your membership up.

Also forgot to add that I did ask for the manager when he threatened to trespass and he refused. Thankfully the nice personal trainer lady stepped in and did his job and looked me up. I wonder how many other people a caused to leave the 24 fitness company...

The equipment is outdated and broken. The seats are coming apart, most of the cardio machines do not work for months at a time, they keep the temperate at 75 and it’s sometimes cooler outside than it is inside in the summer…. The bathrooms are disgusting. There was poop matter on the women’s bathroom at one point. Sauna is super small fits about 5 women. Front desk boy is never at front desk, the paper towels run low and are out mostly in the evenings and do not get restocked.

Half of the treadmills are out of service and that isn't new. I've pointed out treadmills not working properly and the replacement or fix takes too long to say this is a good gym. I bring my mother here to get her cardio done un a safe space with a machine safe for her mobility. This is one of the smaller gyms so not a lot of space but if gets the job done. Also, they do not increase the ac during heat waves. You walk in already sweating. These both seem to be a reflection of poor upper management.

I’ve been really disappointed with my experience at 24 Hour Fitness. The gym is consistently dirty, and it has a terrible smell—especially in the bathrooms, which often reek of urine. It’s really off-putting and makes working out there a struggle.

The cleaning staff seems more interested in chatting than actually doing their job. When I’ve approached them about the cleanliness issues, they’ve been rude and dismissive. It’s frustrating to see someone who is supposed to maintain the gym’s hygiene not taking the job seriously.

Additionally, the weights are always left scattered around, which is not only annoying but also a safety hazard. It feels like no one takes responsibility for keeping the gym organized.

To top it off, the staff is generally unfriendly. Instead of being supportive, they often seem to have their own issues and stare at members while they’re working out. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere that makes you feel like you don’t belong.

Overall, I would not recommend this gym unless you enjoy a dirty environment and rude staff. It’s really disappointing because it has potential, but management needs to step up and make some serious changes.

Avoid This Place – It’s Not Worth It

I gave this gym a fair chance, but it’s time to call it what it is: unacceptable. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with the smell of sweat, mildew, and poor ventilation. It’s clear this place has no functioning air conditioning, and working out feels more like suffering in a sauna than exercising in a gym.

There’s zero airflow, and that makes everything worse — the smell, the discomfort, and the overall experience. Equipment is packed in tightly, cleanliness seems like an afterthought, and if you value a healthy environment, this is not the place for you.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this location is still open. It’s 2025 — air conditioning should not be optional in a gym.

Save yourself the headache, the sweat-soaked clothes, and the disappointment. Stop going here. There are much better gyms in the area that actually care about their members’ health and comfort.

As of today, I am a new member with 24 hour fitness. The front desk member Victor presented a welcoming environment, giving everyone a warm greeting who entered the gym and wishing all customers who were exiting to have a good day. In addition, he was attentive to meet my every need, while sharing the membership package. Thank you Victor! One of the downside corporate should revisit is to include is a small gift for new members at the time of signing up. To piggyback from the other reviews concerning the location of the gym, it all comes down to what you're looking for in a gym. Gym is pretty good, decent equipment that needs to be upgraded. Locker room was cleaner than most 24 but could use some remodeling and the sauna but it might be one of the hottest saunas which also could use remodeling. As a new person in the gym, everyone has been super helpful and welcoming. The staff is very friendly, Ms Vesna and Noah at the desk, and Angel who is my personal trainer. I have been training personally with Angel for a couple of weeks now, and it has been awesome. He guides me during exercises by correcting my form and pushing me to do my best. Brenda Mar is an amazing instructor I wish she could have more classes at Chula Vista I would love to see more core classes more kickboxing classes even more Body Pump she just does such a good job she’s always got a great personality very encouraging very supportive She’s a rockstar
