I started my 24 hr gym membership on 11/07/25. The first place I chose to go to was the 24 hr fitness gym by Chapman and Gilbert. I was met at the front desk by a couple of employees. Once I was set up, no one bothered to give me a tour of the place. I literally had to figure out where everything was located on my own. The swimming pool was small and the men’s bathroom was dirty and smelly. I am definitely going to look for a different location.

This facility is getting worst each year. Very dirty & gross! The shower water pressure is extremely weak like dripping; let alone there is no hot water. No cleaning for the locker room including toilet area is provided throughout the day. The management/owner doesn’t seem to care. We provided feedback & filed complaints many times but no improvement or repair have been done. Just completely unacceptable! If no action is taken by management to improve the cleanliness, I’ll consider reporting to health department.

Got my wallet stolen from locker here. Lock was cut along with 3 other members. Lost all my papers, cards, driver license and cash. 3 Hispanic guys and a girl suspect. This happens on a weekly/monthly basis from what I have been told. Front desk people couldn’t show video and called manager…didn’t answer the phone. Finally got to speak with Carlos and this guy was useless.

50% of Machines are broken. Spa has been broken for months. Pool, changing room and the whole place as a whole is dirty and run down. This place only open till 8pm on weekends…should renamed to 4 hrs fitness, not 24.

Should be shutdown. Poorly managed. Will stop coming here.

Im really happy to have come to this 24hr fitness today! I was very nervous going to gyms bc of previous experiences but from the start, the staff was soo energetic and knowledgeable. This place is old, dirty and run-down and closes early. I used to come here during the 2002 World Cup and most of the machines are still the same!! Crunch & Chuze are better values with newer equipment + cleaner + better hours + higher class clientele. 24 Las Vegas closed 5/6 locations. This 1 should be next up!! I recently signed up at 24 Hour Fitness, and I had a fantastic experience thanks to employee A.D. He was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the sign-up process, making me feel welcomed and well-informed. I also want to mention Carlos, the manager, who was very friendly and approachable.

I did notice that some of the equipment feels a bit outdated, and I wish the corporation would invest a little more in upgrades to enhance the gym experience. Despite this, the staff really stands out; A.D. was actively cleaning and picking up around the gym, which shows their dedication to maintaining a clean and pleasant environment. The employees here are top-notch. Overall, I highly recommend this location!

This is a decent club, but I don't understand why members are allowed on the workout floor in sandals and opentoe slippers. I see this every time I am here. It’s an okay gym. Depends on your standards. You can tell a lot of the equipment here is very old and hardly works, there’s several signs on a lot of the cardio machines saying “out of service”. The bathrooms smell. The staff I’ve encountered are friendly and I do see them cleaning up and putting the weights back in the right spots I just think overall a lot of the equipment is old and falling apart. Honestly, I think if 24hr would invest in getting this gym new up to date equipment and fixed up the place up a bit it wouldn’t be a bad gym.

WOW. TL;DR - This is a sad, tired location. Here we go...

This is one of the most poorly maintained 24 Hour locations I've visited. The biggest deterrent is how filthy everything is. GYMS SHOULD BE CLEAN! Health and safety of your members and guests is #1 priority. There is a LOT of dust on just about every piece of equipment and bits of trash/paper towel around them. Paper towels and hand sanitizer stations were not refilled. Soap was out, toilet paper was out. There shouldn't be grime/buildup around the hand dryers. Easy stuff that any other gym handles with a quick check. I think I saw only like two staff members other than the trainers, so that's why nothing is as clean as it should be. Back to the workout floor...

The equipment has clearly seen better days. Aside from a couple fairly new-ish looking squat racks, much of the weight machines and benches are... old. Which is fine if maintained, but if the gym isn't clean, you bet maintenance isn't handled well. Some machines are missing parts that make them unsafe, or compromise the motion. Replace things you can't get parts for! The lock pin on a couple 5-lb weight increments (leg extension, and something else, if I recall correctly) slip, and drop the weight mid-rep. A few benches have loose pads, or are not properly bolted to the floor. Half the weight plates are worn out - rubber is cracked/missing. Everything needs to be seriously tightened up.

Things that are missing: Proper 35-lb EZ curl olympic bars to put plates on. If I have no idea how much that sad, skinny thing weighs, neither does anyone else. There are TWO(?!?!?) 5-lb plates in the entire gym that fit the olympic bars... Get more of those, and some more 10-lb plates while you're at it. The barbell rack is clearly not a complete set for either EZ curl or straight bars.

This could be a decent gym, but it's gonna take the owner investing a bit of money to get it up to snuff with other locations. It's in a good location, so there is no excuse for them to provide not even a mediocre experience.

First and foremost…. I feel unsafe coming here.

2nd…What does the branch management team even do? The gym is progressively getting worse. It’s dusty, old equipments that are in dire need of service, and the entire gym is looking so out of shape.

3rd.. The name is 24 hours fitness implies it would open 24 hours .. but most location don’t even open 24. Is this a bait and switch ? I’m not gunna do it … but is this ground for a class action lawsuit??

This gym needs a major overhaul, its a big gym with tons of equipment, the only thing that is holding it back is the cleanliness. The gym looks and feels dirty (equipment, floors, and bathrooms). It really needs a cleaning and it would be perfect!!

Please, please, PLEASE...! Encourage members to flush used toilet paper instead of using the trash cans. Or at least have the cans changed much more frequently. It is often nauseating to use the restroom due to the smell of urine and feces. Soap/sanitizer dispensers also need to be checked and refilled more often.

Para el propietario del gym, el baño de hombres muy sucio, huele a orines siempre, no hay jabón en los dispensadores, las regaderas tienen moho en el piso y paredes.
Y en la recepción, los jóvenes que están ahí, no son amables, siempre viendo sus celulares.
En pocas palabras, es el PEOR GYM que hay en ORANGE COUNTY.

Pros: less people and you do not have to wait for anything. Love that!
It's also feels spacious and has the same amenities as all the other gyms.
And the people who work there are kind.
Cons: missing some gym equipment, like punching bags and some machines.
Also it closes at 10

This location place sucks.
I requested a free pass online to the Garden Grove location. Once arrived, the desk girl asked me for my id. I handed to her and she told me I can not come in because my address on my id it’s from different city. She was mean at all time. Was thinking to get a membership there, now I won’t come back.
My friend was piss too. The girls attitude was not the best. We decided to go across street to Choze fitness, and they are super nice they explained everything nice and clear.
Thanks to 24 hrs fitness for the bad experience this morning. Now I have a membership with choze.

Please, owner of 24hr fitness Chapman and Gilbert location. As a patron of your gym of more than 23 yrs., it deserves and is in need of repairs, renovation, and sanitary cleansiness. If that means resurfacing, replacing, re-grouting and/or whatever means accordingly and soon I hope. If it takes a year or 2, sure...and perhaps being transparent with a project plan shown at the front desk would do your gym and its loyal and new gym members great justice and recognition.

Sauna is broken. Showers don’t have soap. Not clean. I visit a few in different areas. I would avoid this gym and go to the one in Irvine/Tustin

They should add a hack squat machine they have a type of squat machine but you just can’t get a good enough stretch like a hack squat and there’s a decent amount of machines people don’t use and could probably fit a jack squat machine in there if they got rid of some machines

Men's restrooms dirty and smell like pee. Never no toilet paper and if there is it's in one stall and barely anything ever left cause everyone using that one toilet. Told a trainer there was bolt missing on a cable machine and he looked at me all confused like it wasn't his job. Sorry dude just cause you all about fitness don't mean that's your only job at a gym. The tall dude is cool though

Was there today (10/09/23) staff was very friend and helpful very service minded. The property have lots of machines and free weight all the equipments and outlets in good working condition. I did have a very great time there. Thank you

I have been going to this 24 hour location since I was 18 and I have been away from Garden Grove for 3 years. I don't know what happened during the pandemic but this place is has gone down. The shower, pool, steam room and sauna are filthy. The floor from the locker and pool area looks like it hasn't been cleaned in over a year.

There used to be a deep clean periodically before the pandemic. This place has enough patrons going to warrant the deep clean. The pictures speak for themselves.

The photos span a whole year and it still hasn’t been deep cleaned, machines are old and get broken down by misused by seniors. They do fix the machines after some time and there’s now a new added weight lifting area added to make it 6 spots.
I didn’t find the people that go here particularly friendly but the staff is nice and helpful. I don’t think the staff can do the cleaning that probably corporate or owner expects. The owner needs to have serious consideration for cleaning, otherwise it’s a matter of time before this location gets closed by the health department.

Kind of a cramped gym with interesting set up for a lot of machines. If you have another 24 hour fitness location you can go to, it'll probably be worth it. If it's your only option, then it'll do the job but it's quite a shabby gym.

Squat racks in the middle of the gym that are placed 2 by 2 facing each other??? Who decided this was a good idea. Instead of mirrors and being able to check your form... you instead get to look at another dude grunting and facing you.

There are a lot of interesting characters in this gym from the awkward casuals trying to get someone to notice the ... to the gym rat couples who need to make out after every set.
