I love the size of this gym and the number of squat racks they have. This gym is very clean and the staff is great. However, I do have a lot of complaints that I will list below, in no particular order. I have been coming here for two years, and while these aren’t necessarily issues every week, they are consistent, so I hope they can be addressed.
-Overcrowding, primarily due to teenagers and pre-teens. I think in the future you guys should open up smaller gyms for the youth (and seniors too), since this is a very common problem, and it’s safe to say most of us don’t want the kids here. In general, they are loud, obnoxious, come in in groups, lay around in the walkways, have no idea what they’re doing, and hog the equipment. If anything, they should have to be accompanied by an adult, or they should be required to take a gym safety and etiquette course.
-There are only 2 Smith machines, while there are 13 squat racks. This makes no sense and the wait times create a lot of problems. This is a huge gym in a busy shopping center. Clearly this was the result of poor planning/budgeting.
-The half-size dumbbells are only located in the front of the gym, while all of the benches and the rest of the free weights are located in the back of the gym. There is no logic to this.
-There are no 2.5-lb plates. Not a big deal, but weird. You can't afford to invest in the cheapest plates available?
-Excessive use of cameras in the locker room. This is illegal. The (female) locker rooms are basically selfie lounges. You often have to wait for people to finish their photoshoots before you can walk in or out of the locker room so that you're not in the background. There is a no photography/video policy in the locker room, but everyone ignores this, and it is not enforced here. I just wonder how many lawsuits it will take before this issue is taken seriously? I have been told to report people, but I'm not reporting most of the members, nor is it my job, unless you want to add me to payroll, in which case I will gladly kick people out and suspend their membership for a month. If caught again, they would lose their membership.
-Excessive use of cameras in the gym. I think this should only be allowed in certain areas. This makes working out very uncomfortable at times.
-You have to report broken or faulty equipment multiple times before it is addressed.
-You have to ask for clips and turn something in to get them. Clips should be a requirement, not an option, since plates often go flying and can easily injure people.
-There are no more cycling/sprint classes. They seem to have disappeared after Covid. The old cycling room used to have about 30 bikes, and now there are only 3 bikes in this gym, and they are all falling apart.
-There are rarely paper towels in the paper towel dispensers.
-There is a shortage of TP/toilet seat covers on the weekends. Bring your own?
-Not much music/too many ads. Half the time there is no music playing in the gym, or it is playing really quietly in one corner. But there are plenty of ads that play on repeat over and over, especially after 5. I know we all have our music, but when I walk in, I want to hear music blasting to get me pumped up. I’m not here to be advertised to.
-This gym feels like more of a social hangout area than a gym. I like that I can feel comfortable here, but when you open a business to the public in a very busy area, you’re going to get the public, and there have to be limits and more policies at some point. Many people treat this place like their home, walking around in pajamas and slippers, barefoot, or half naked (most of the women). You can find kids sitting on the floor in groups socializing , and many people use the benches in the locker room to scroll and watch movies for long periods of time. I come here to work out, but I think many people come here for other reasons. It often feels like a high school, the YMCA, or a club. I think the solution is to restrict the type of people who can come in, instill a basic dress code, and hire more staff to enforce the policies.

I recently opened – and then cancelled – a family membership at your Irvine Jamboree location. I am writing to formally complain about the conduct of the sales representative who handled my membership on November 22, 2025.
I fully understand that salespeople work hard to close memberships, and I respect that. However, there are two issues that I consider completely unacceptable:
1. Misrepresentation of fees and false promises
During the sales process, the representative clearly told me that he could waive a $90 initiation / registration fee for me. He asked me to pay the full amount first and promised that, after speaking with his manager, he would apply for the $90 to be refunded to me. He asked me to wait for this “approval”.
However, after several days, he never followed up with me at all and the $90 was never removed. This means he made a promise to reduce my fees that he was either unable or unwilling to honor. In my view, this is misleading to the customer and violates basic honesty in sales.
2. Rude and disrespectful behavior when I requested a refund
When I later came back to cancel my membership within the allowed rescission period, the same representative initially tried to tell me that I could not get a refund. Only after I insisted very strongly on my legal right to cancel did he finally process the cancellation.
After completing the refund, he threw the cancellation receipt on the desk in front of me in a very rude and disrespectful manner. This attitude is completely unacceptable. As a paying customer, I should not be treated this way for simply exercising my right to cancel a contract.
Because of these two issues – the false promise regarding the $90 fee and the disrespectful behavior during my cancellation – this experience has left me extremely disappointed with LA Fitness and with the Irvine Jamboree location in particular.
I respectfully request the following:
1. That you review the conduct of the sales representative involved and take appropriate action.
2. That you ensure all fees and refunds are handled correctly, including the full refund for my cancelled membership as stated in the “Receipt for Cancellation Within Rescission”.
3. That you provide me with a written response and, if appropriate, an apology for the way I was treated.
I hope LA Fitness will take this complaint seriously and use it to improve transparency in your sales process and the professionalism of your staff.

I used to enjoy working out here but employees here are not customer friendly. Many times I had to ask them to turn on IR Sausa and they lied that is on or they say they'll sent someone and when you confront them they blame their coworkers. There are machines and stationary bicycles broken for over a month.
I'm switching gyms at the end of my contract.

When I was at the front desk opening an account, the staff member repeatedly asked me if I wanted personal training. When I tried to cancel the personal training option, she kept asking me for a reason. Even after I clearly said I wanted to remove the personal training option, she still didn’t do anything. Over capacity you have to wait 5 to 10mins to get a workout. The sanitizer station is always low on paper towels and foam. This gym is one of the largest in OC and it's one of the worst maintained gym.

Amenities are great; clean, like new, and usable. However, this is the only 24hrs I seen turn off the sauna to clean it. I've gone to the Main Place, Triangle Square, Sunflower, and Edinger locations for over 9 years, and none of them turn off the sauna... ever; unless it's broken. They give a time frame of 1am - 4am, but they turn it off since around 12am, and they don't turn it on till almost 5am. This is ridiculous, a big reason for me staying at 24 at all is the sauna. And the fact that I can't use it during the only time I have available to go to the gym is frustrating! But enough about the sauna. This is also the only location that uses a leaf blower to clean the gym, not vacuums like I've seen at ALL other gyms. So there's dust floating around everywhere when they're cleaning. And it's not like she (the cleaner) stops or goes around you when you're stretching or working out, she (the cleaner) will still blow the dust your way; I've had dirt and hair land in my mouth while working out. The biggest and perhaps only flaw this gym has is the cleaning crew, they are clearly lazy, and careless about members. It's all about them being comfortable, getting the job done regardless if it and blowing dust into member's faces, and inconvenience the members by turning off the sauna for almost 5 hours. Any other gym, I've seen the cleaners go in and out in 10 minutes to clean the sauna without ever turning it off. I really appreciate them, and I let them know how thankful I am for them; I even help hold the door or remove the bottom wooden bench when they clean. I know this is a very long rant, but I've been coming to this location for almost a year now, and I finally got so fed up, and I'm clearly not the only that shares this sentiment... I finally said something after speaking to others, and realizing they felt the same way.

I came in today looking to activate my gym membership using the Active & Fit Direct program through my job so that I can start working out. At the entrance I was greeted and helped out by Omar and Eric. They greeted me warmly, provided me with a tour of the gym, and explained all the amenities before syncing my account with the app.

Guys please do NOT fall into this trap, don’t come to this gym ever, I’ve not only got lied at the front desk with the payments but I had to cancel my membership a week after I started here, there’s literally a LANE to wait for a cardio machine, I’ve never seen that in my whole life, it’s impossible to have a workout here, they charged me on top of that 60 bucks for an anual fee ( I’ve only used the gym one week and they don’t want to refund me that) and 50 dollars for cancelation fee. It’s literally a joke. Don’t ever come here.

First of all, These gym employees are super rude. I recently moved to OC and signed up for a free guest pass online to try out this gym, as its only about 10 mins away from my house. They immediately rejected my guest pass at the front desk stating they charge $30 for a 3-day pass ??? When I pushed back and provided my proof of a FREE PASS, They then stated your ID must say Tustin or Irvine on it to try out their gym or you must provide a lease agreement (RIDICULOUS , IT IS A GYM) . I have tried a few other gyms in the area with no issues or random ridiculous policies. Definitely would not recommend this gym, they clearly do not want to invite new potential members in. Understandable because it’s over crowded anyways, try somewhere else. 👎👎

I used to love going to the gym, but this new club has completely ruined the experience. From day one it’s been overcrowded, with people camping on machines while glued to their cell phones. The equipment that is available seems to be constantly out of order, and maintenance drags on forever.
For a brand-new facility, the locker rooms are already disgusting — more like a hazmat zone than a place to shower and change. It’s shocking how quickly such a “state-of-the-art” club has slipped into chaos.
Instead of being a place to focus on fitness, this gym has become a stressful, unsanitary mess. Save yourself the money and frustration — look elsewhere.

This location is wildly overcrowded. At 10pm on a Monday I counted 18 people in the sauna that says max capacity 8. Literally all standing packed like sardines. The crowd also seems very young, lots of young minorities who may not show the type of etiquette you'd expect in certain parts of the gym. Also, the photos incorrectly show a basketball court that does not exist here.

Gym is in a nice new facility so I had hope that it would get better from the previous location. But unfortunately its not. The Gym etiquette here is awful. And its never clean for more than an hour. No one re-racks their weights. There a dumbbells on the floor in front of the weight rack, No one wipes down their equipment after usage. The men's locker-room is always wet and never cleaned. The front desk staff just sits on their phones, you'll never see them put weights away or even enforce proper gym etiquette. I go to the gym to get rid of my anxiety but the way management runs the gyms gives me a bigger anxiety attack. If you don't care about that stuff its a decent enough gym with plenty of space.

A newer facility that is unfortunately showing it's age due to what I imagine to be only poor management. Way too crowded, many machines require a wait or a hunger games competition . If you're looking for the Roman chair for example, there's only one and it is almost never available. I have no idea why they don't have more than one. In fact there are a few machines that have been broken for well over a month and it seems to be forgotten. Definitely need to up their game.

Regarding equipment: 2 back machines have been broken for months, at least 4 treadmills are out of service at the same time, steam room is currently out of service. Regarding temperature this place is freezing cold in the mornings and the giant fans are at high speed. I emailed the manager and she said she couldn’t do anything about it because the temperature control is somewhere else.

“I don’t recommend wasting your time requesting the 3-day free pass. I applied online, got approved, but when I showed up on today August 20th at 11:30 am, the general manager, Kim, denied me access. Her reason was that I had stopped by back in June to ask for information, and according to her, that disqualified me. She even asked why I waited from June until August to request the free pass. I honestly explained that I had been busy working, visiting other gyms, and documenting their services for social media. Even with that explanation, they still refused to honor their own promotion. It left me wondering if this was just an excuse, or if I was treated differently because I’m Latino and Black. Very disappointing experience.”

I don't have much experience with 24, but this is easily the best of the three I've been to. The facility is clean, well organized and just beautiful! See my other review (South Coast Metro Center, Hint: Not good).
Irvine Marketplace is the standard. The locker room was clean and actually smelled good. Nitpick point: A water extractor for bathing suits would be super helpful. Otherwise, keep up the great work.
Also, Ive noticed that each of the 3 of the 24hr locations are always crowded. Management can't control that. What they can control is how they care for the facility. The South Coast Metro Center guys in Costa Mesa failed. The Irvine Marketplace folks at Jamboree passed with flying colors! Beautiful facility!

If you are interested in regaining your strength or are coming back from an injury, Quinn, the head trainer is the one to start your journey with. I had a knee replacement and after completing my PT, my knee was still weak and in pain. I have tried several gyms and had multiple trainers and none of them actually took the time to build my strength along with rehabbing my injury for the long term. I am impressed with Quinn’s knowledge of injuries and rehabilitation workouts for as young as he is. I highly recommend him!

If you like crowds and like to wait for a machine this is the place for you. Gym is always packed, everyone and their mothers loves to come here. And I get it! It’s an actual very nice gym, clean, new machine and a big area. It’s just always full of people. The sauna is full of people but it’s a good one. Would recommend if you have the time.

Closed the original location and opened a new one next door that is a quarter the size and NO basketball court or outside mini field like the other location. Do yourself a favor and save your money and go to chuze fitness literally no difference now.

Went back to try give this place another chance. Asked for clips for the squat rack for safety. Refused to give to me without “collateral” As if the $350 a year including the 50$ fee we all pay for just this isn’t enough. I cannot stress how terrible this gym is.. Big shout out to Miles for helping me get set up with Modus training! I originally signed up at 24 Hour Fitness mainly for the classes, and while I was initially bummed to find out Modus costs extra, it totally makes sense—class sizes are capped at 14, which is way more focused than the typical 50+ in regular group classes.
The gym itself is clean and well maintained, which is a nice bonus.
Also, a small shout out to Nathan and Regen for helping me out as well!

This is a solid 24hr fitness location with plenty of racks for squatting and dead-lifting. The staff is also friendly and helpful. One major downside is that there is a real lack of 5lb and 10lb weights available for use. I wish they would buy more. Additionally, for the size of the gym, only having 2 chest fly machines and 2 hip adductor/abductor machines is inadequate. I wish they provided more of the common machines. I've been going consistently for the last couples months and have found it to be a generally solid gym though.

In this gym, stupid people go into the sauna after working out, still wearing their sweaty clothes and shoes. They even swim in the pool fully dressed and with shoes on.
It’s wild. It’s unthinkable. It’s disgusting. It’s extremely unhygienic.

I have been going to this 24 hour fitness for a year and am sharing my informed observations.
Most of the staff are nice. Omar, Jasmine, Ricky, and Kim (the manager) are always friendly. However, Zach is extremely rude. He acts like he owns the gym. If he is waiting for your machine, he will stare at you with a look of disgust as if you are wasting his time. Then he'll proceed to take his sweet time on any machine or squat rack. Again, most of the team members are great but Zach needs to be taught how to respect other people's space and have some courtesy.
Another point, there needs to be wipes that can be used to clean machines and handles, rather than a paper towel that needs foam on it. Having more wipes around the gym will make it more likely that people will keep the facility and equipment clean. There should also be a timer or some system to regulate how long you can spend on a particular machine or squat rack. Some people take way too long and don't give others a chance. I had an experience where someone was using two pieces of equipment at the same time which is not fair. There are other people who want to workout.
Last thing, the gym could be reorganized to better optimize the space. There is plenty of room for more exercise machines, equipment, and area overall. The front area, area on the right, and room in between equipment is wasted.
This gym has a lot of room for growth. I think they are doing things well, but can work to improve the experience for gym goers. The staff are generally nice and welcoming (aside from one of them) which is not easy to come by.

nice gym at first but upon closer inspection there's a lot of deal breakers. being a frequent traveler ive been to a lot of 24 hour fitness locations and this one is the only one where i walked in and walked out instantly because it was just way too crowded.
their rush hour lasts for hours on end and during this time it's like at 110% capacity. like 15 squat racks that are all full. only a few benches and you'll for sure never get a turn anytime between like 4-10pm. somehow even all the cardio machines get full.... the racks also have no mirrors so that's not ideal.
if you go off peak, then this gym is pretty nice i guess

Eeek! Had to write a review about the lockers because I do use the lockers/showers three times a week. Usually it’s passable (definitely on the lower end of the cleanliness scale. But today the shower area was pretty gross 😭😭😭.
Otherwise, the rest of the gym is kept decently clean, but just be aware that level of cleanliness does not extend to the locker rooms or showers.
Management: Please please increase the frequency of cleanings for the locker rooms.
Edit 6/25/25: Well 6 months later I got what I asked for! I did notice staff cleaning a little more often than before. But my comments really came back to bite me in the ass because an employee was full on power washing the locker rooms at 7 a.m. on a Wednesday. Yay cleaning! But several things…
Is there no other better time to power wash the lockers? Perhaps a non peak time? Why weren’t there any signs to indicate the floor was wet and why was I literally being power washed around, dirt, debris and all flinging onto me (im being slightly dramatic but it really isn’t pleasant being collateral damage to floor water and hairballs). In all fairness it wasn’t a traditional power wash machine (just a hose with high pressure). But it was rather strange that no care was given to patrons already in the locker room, nor was there signage…
I feel bad for the one girl that went to use the restroom and had the employee waiting for her outside her stall with the hose.
I’m hoping there’s a power washing/deep cleaning schedule I can request so that I know when to avoid the lockers.

The 24 at the marketplace is one of my favorite gyms . The amount of machines there are available for squatting is impressive. I love that the smith machines are in a corner . Omar at the front desk is one of the most respectable high energy people I’ve ever encountered and greets most people by first name ( impressive).

Unfortunate Marketing Strategy
I workout at the Irvine “24 hr fitness” facility.
The facility is very popular and commonly crowded, but at certain times manageable.
I recently was approached by a young associate, who offered a program of coaching, which I had been considering, to expand my workouts.
This “Coach” pressed me to sign a 3 month agreement, which would continue if not cancelled. I agreed to the 3 months, because he was very accommodating about scheduling and outlined his skills in the areas that I need improvement.
After signing up he suddenly became available only in the evenings or weekends, (the absolute worst time for crowds). The second Saturday morning appointment, he cancelled. I expressed my desire to cancel the agreement. He was quick to remind me that we have a 3 month commitment. And, by the way, these training sessions are only 30 mins each, at a cost of $40.00 per 1/2 hour. They don’t point that out in the presentation!
When you see someone with “Coach” on their work attire, run, you’ll save money and get a better workout!!!
