I travel all over for work and this is by far one of the worst 24's I have visited. Always packed, weights thrown all over the place, no one puts them back on the racks. Other members rarely wipe things down. You spend more time standing around waiting for the weight machine or squat rack you need. It doesn't help that some machines are broken or barely working. Bathrooms are disgusting.

The African American male that is in his 40s was very rude and unprofessional. I wasn’t able to get my workout done today due to the sauna not working. When I was walking out maybe hoping to get some help with the sauna I approached the male employee as described initially and his response was unprofessional and sounded very frustrated, “if the sauna isn’t working, it’s not working, I just got here!” Very dismissive and rude. Also the men’s locker room and restroom are not maintained at night. The showers are always dirty with trash being left and the floors are always wet with dirty water. Out of the 6 times I visited this club, 5 times it has been dirty. Don’t signup for a membership. Overpriced and facilities are dirty.

Its disappointing having to write a review like this. First off, the employees at this location are bottom of the barrel. The women in particular at the front desk cant be bothered to even look up from their phone during check in. No greeting, no hello, not even an acknowledgement. Just head buried in the phone. Seems like they dont care for their job and they want it to be noticable.

The sauna is usually broken, with no notice at the front door that its out.

You can find evidence of mildew and mold throughout the gym. It seems like the place has never had a deep cleaning, there should be a time every day for the cleaning crew to come in and do their job.

Homeless will congregate in their vehicles in the parking lot all times of day, so be careful. All in all, I come here for convenience but this place is subpar. Id hate to lose the convenience of location, please, fire these incompetent staff and lets return this gym to its glory days.

I actually like this gym a lot, everything works, plenty of equipment and cardio machines. I don't get why people are complaining about it being "unclean" isn't really a big deal, I mean it's a gym, your gonna work up a sweat, just shower afterwards, no big deal. Most disgusting and filthy club I have ever been. Toilets are dirty, no toilet paper, no seat cover. they open the Zumba class on Tuesdays, however, last three weeks AC doesn’t work there at all. This place is disgusting. The men’s locker room is awful. You will be lucky to get a shower with an actual head. There will often be graffiti in the showers. I’ve witnessed homeless people sleeping in there. Once I went into a shower and there was feces on the shower floor. Every once in a while they get someone who works the front that will do the bare minimum of greeting people. Those all star employees don’t seem to last very long.

We need more staff for cleanup in the locker rooms. MARIA is doing a fantastic job, but she can’t do it by herself. Iv been a member for years and this is by far the worst club when it comes to cleanliness. Members are to blame for this also. Gum stuck on benches and around pool area. Leaving trash, empty bottles (when there are trash cans) everywhere. Women leaving wads of hair in the showers and their personal products (empty) behind. Shower doors and handles are broken or not working, filters above showers are caked with dust and grime. Cleaning staff can only do so much. I've witnessed other club Managers maintaining their club with staff. Not here....Management is non-existent. The one time someone did reach out it was nothing but excuses.

I went to the swimming class this last Tuesday at 9 AM and some of the water spilled out into the drainage and a nest of spiders literally came out and took over the swimming area. Spiders were climbing the wall/, they were on our clothes and towels, it was an infestation. It was absolutely disgusting. Without warning they just started to charge customer a $15.00 late fee on your monthly membership, this is from a corporation that cut back on soap in the showers, that does not clean the rest room properly and every shower wall had mold on it. Lockers are broken into as well. I had my wallet stolen when my pad lock was broken. The filth and the price increase and the Jacuzzi breakdown when it happens takes forever to get fixed. April 2025 update. Racquetball court is a mess. There's only one and the floor is not swept/maintained (particularly at night). Trash, dust balls and old gum spots all over the floor. People are allowed to use the court for other workout purposes, possibly damaging the floor. Also, Not sure why they can't keep working lightbulbs all at the same time and the same color. Have brought this to managements attention multiple times; but alas, nothing has changed. On a positive note, much of the equipment which was broken during my last review, has been fixed.

Feb 2024 update. The gym has really gone downhill. Multiple equipment is not working and lots of trash on the gym and restroom floor. Sink and hand dryer also broken. Appears to be very little maintenance in general.

This used to be a beautiful gym when it first opened up. As of April, 2025 it has become one of the worst gyms you can stumble upon on. I don’t know what cheap membership plans are there but it has brought the worst people you can imagine (main reason why I don’t go to the Compton Gym.) I’ve been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for a while and have always appreciated the convenience, but recently the experience has been disappointing. Many machines are consistently out of order, and the maintenance seems to be neglected. On top of that, the restrooms are often dirty and poorly stocked, which is unacceptable for a facility we pay a premium to use.

Now, guests are being required to show or carry physical IDs, yet these strict policies are being enforced while basic upkeep of the gym is not. It feels like priorities are misplaced — rather than focusing on creating a clean, functional, and well-maintained environment for paying members, unnecessary barriers are being added.

We pay good money for this membership and expect equipment to be in working order and facilities to be clean. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and starts investing more attention in maintenance and member experience.

Half of the machines are broken, you will never find any dumbells because they are either scattered or mixed up( they literally never have dumbells in order either) this is probably one of the worst 24 hours I have ever been to and gyms in general, have seen better quality in some planet fitnesses, you can go to golds for the same price as 24 hours, you can go to crunch for even cheaper, and similar prince with LA fitness.

First of they have some equipment that is useful that's about all that is positive. As for in the gym the honest truth i don't know how someone can be a manager and not see what is wrong with this gym or you simply don't care. I feel some of the front desk people are just rude shouldn't come as a surprise. So many dumbells are just missing almost half the racks empty. The gym floors full of dust and trash. You can literally see and feel the dust on you're skin as you're working out. The restrooms like at a truck stop just a mess.

This facility is never improved after all bad comments posted. I haven’t been back a while until today. What I experienced is staff…..overal I graded negative. Facility is dirty no maintenance service ….trash everywhere in the showers area. Man….i agree the GM is doing nothing very disappointed. On Thursday, January 29, 2025, I paid mandatory $30 for guest membership to play "racquetball." No one day pass available although I explained that I live in Las Vegas and only in town for one day and was playing with an old friend. "24 Hour Fitness used to have a $10 one day guest pass."

The court was dirty! More importantly, The courts have 6 overhead lights. 2 of the lights were burned out, 1 was extremely dim, and 1 had a bright "PURPLE BULB" installed which made the court appear like a night club. Racquetball is played with a "BLUE" rubber ball of which the visibility would be greatly diminished in the purple light.

I immediately reported to the front desk and requested a refund. The manager was not available. I returned twice the same day. Manager was not in the facility. I left my number the manager never called.

On Monday, February 3, 2025, I called from Vegas and talked to "Joe" (refused to give last name). Refused to refund gust fees although facility was not acceptable for usage. Stated 24 Hour Fitness has "No Refund Policy." Yeah, great customer service for facility/courts which were not in a proper state of repair and safe for usage.

Genuinely put-off by the experience I had here this morning. Came in, told the staff member (whose name I didn't get but the experience sounds similar to someone else's posted here 3 months ago so may be the same guy) that I had a guest pass. He asked if I was looking to swap gyms or if I had just moved here. I explained that I was just looking to see how the gyms around here are since I hadn't had a membership to any and had just come to the area recently.

I filled out my information and he proceeded to essentially ask me "are you actually wanting to get a membership or are you just trying to use the free workouts?" I asked him to repeat himself several times because I genuinely could not believe I was just asked that and then he tried to say he was asking that so if I wasn't actually trying to sign up he could skip the tour (which was not mentioned at all up until this point). I told him, as I just mentioned that I was trying to compare the options in the area and then he brought up something about getting me lower membership rates at the end of the interaction.

The gym itself was fine I guess but that entire interaction put me off because it didn't come off as "saving time" it came off as accusatory as the tour was not mentioned as an option until I was very clearly uncomfortable by what he asked 3 different times. Whatever the intention actually was, it definitely soured the experience for me and seeing that other people have had this experience I would definitely say it's not guest-friendly for those looking to possibly join the gym as new members.

This used to be an amazing gym. It has deteriorated at such a fast rate. A roach tried to crawl into my hoodie when I set it on my gym bag. They towel dispensers and spray bottles aren't replenished. The sauna smells. The stairmaster machines are old and breakdown repeatedly. I used to love going to this gym but I had to cancel my membership (which they didn't refund me for).

This is a nice gym. They have a lots of equipment, a big pool and they are open 24 hours so it’s very convenient. Unfortunately, I no longer go to this location because I don’t feel safe leaving my possessions in the gym lockers. On January 6th, my locker was broken into and my backpack was stolen. I went to speak to the staff member working the front desk and while he was well intentioned and wanted to help, he informed me that there was nothing he could do and I should call the police. I reached out to the police but they were no help at all. My friend and I went to back to the locker room and searched all the unlocked lockers and were able to locate my stolen backpack. This could have been avoided if the gym had staff do regular walk throughs to see if there is any suspicious activity going on. I hope 24 Hour Fitness starts taking their customer’s safety into consideration, otherwise they will start losing customers.

OK so I need to rant about this 24 Hour Fitness - it's literally the worst gym ever! I've been to a bunch of their locations before, but this one is straight up embarrassing. Like, do the managers even show up to work? Because it seriously looks like no one's been taking care of this place for months.

The locker room situation is absolutely disgusting. I'm not even exaggerating when I say it's so gross that the health department should probably shut it down because there is black mold everywhere. Most of the lockers are either broken or permanently locked (what's even the point??), so everyone's just leaving their stuff wherever they can find space or carry it with them 🙄

The main gym area is a total disaster zone. Dumbbells are just thrown everywhere like nobody's ever heard of organizing. Half the weight sets are missing their pairs, and there's literally broken equipment parts scattered all over the floor. When you're trying to work out, you have to waste like 10 minutes just walking around trying to find matching weights - it's ridiculous!

Fr, this whole place is just a massive fail. Basic stuff like cleaning and fixing equipment apparently doesn't exist here. Like, I get that not every gym can be perfect, but this is next level bad. If you're thinking about joining this location, just save yourself the headache and join Planet Fitness because apparently they have better standards. 💀

Update: I contacted the 24hr website like the owner requested in the response to this post and there has been no change. The vents are clogged with dust, dust bunnies all over the gym floor and overall dirty.

I like the classes the gym offers but I’m worried if exercising here is actually healthy. The cleanliness of the gym leaves a lot of be desired. The walls and ceiling are dusty especially in the locker room. The vents are LAYERED in dust (see photos) and I’m really hoping the black stains are not black mold. The swimsuit water extractor has also been removed for about a year without being replaced.

Also wish there were more classes offered as more classes are removed but membership prices are getting higher. Not sure where the money is going since equipment is also worn out and I haven’t seen anything replaced. All virtual classes were removed as well.

Dirty gym , not kept up , the g.m. sits around allows his facility to be dirty with broken equipment, front desk rude , doesn't greet members, front desk personnel always on there phone .. overall the worst of the 24 I've been too... Go to LA fitness..or for sure a different 24 location ... I spoke to the general manager about the condition of the gym he laughed and said oh well..very professional

Someone broke into my locker. I lost all my cards, car keys, house keys, ID, and heaphones. I had to call a locksmith to open a create a new key for my car, so i spent 180 usd on it.
The manager doesn't do anything, and the sad thing about this gym is that it's getting worse and worse in every aspect. I dont feel safe anymore putting my stuff on those lockers. Im moving to another 24 hours. Lakewood 24 isn't good anymore, sorry

The only reason I come here is because it’s the only 24 hr fitness that’s actually open 24hrs. Also my company pays for it but if that wasn’t the case I’d be going elsewhere. The bathrooms are filthy as you can see from all the reviews and the equipment is never maintained. My locker was broken into last month and they pretty much don’t care. Feels like they just let anyone walk rite in without checking memberships. Don’t understand how nothing is being done to improve this gym after how many bad reviews they have. Oh yea and they do have roaches.

Broken equipment, filthy shower facilities. I report conditions to Omar the club manager. He is a jerk who just makes excuse and never gets anything done. He provides no oversight or leadership as a manager and ZERO customer service to members. The conditions in the men's showers are disgusting. Four out of four Recumbent bike are broken.

I like the fact that it has 8 platforms. But the weights for those platforms are everywhere else. Yes I’m a firm believer that members need to return weights back where they got them from and re-rack your DB. Members need to be hold accountable too. But the workers and management could go and reorganize everything like it back to how it supposed to be. Yes it’s annoying to do that over and over again but it’s your job.

I have been contacting customer service about the refund that was due to me in March!! You can not speak to a person. 2 people have called be back to tell me my refund was sent but it never arrived! This gym has progressively gotten worse. The locker rooms and restrooms are very dirty. The weights are all beat up and the equipment is dirty as well. There was also some man hiding in the corner of the room upstairs sleeping on the ground i’m not sure if they were homeless. Overall do not recommend!

Good machines, but missing some of the best (hack squat, hip thrust, etc). Treadmills are covered in grime & dirt and theres always multiple machines out of order. The sauna smells like sewage, it’s so nasty i stopped going in. The staff do not care.

Update 8/20/24 : The DM of the gym with the salt and pepper hair still chooses not to do anything. Even after I personally spoke to him. He sits around worried about kicking out the youngsters without a pass or flirting with the pretty girls that come in and have no idea about the cleanliness of this gym and broken equipment. See photos attached. I’m more than happy to reconsider my review but after staying away for months it’s only gotten worse after stepping foot in here again yesterday. My review has helped 10,000 plus people to stay away from this gym and I wish it was the other way to drive traffic. That’s also uploaded friends 🤷🏻‍♂️

Machines haven’t been wiped down in probably a good year. The bathrooms are literally so disgusting and the showers don’t even get me started how bad it is.
The sauna and steam room, touted as relaxing amenities, fall short due to cleanliness issues A ton of equipment is been out of order for awhile. The showers were quite a disappointment, they are always filthy. I’ve seen the same fur balls and paper on the drain for over a week. But I do realize overall members need to not be so savage like. Clean up after your damn selves people.however, this is an honest review and you guys need to do better before people get sick from this place.

I love this place, I haven't been myself lately and I developed an obsession with food 😄 and I gained several lbs. I no longer want to feel heavy when I walk or breathe hard from doing absolutely nothing lol. So I decided to get back in the gym 🏋️‍♂️ and I had no idea I needed this. My primary goal is to loose 25 lbs and maintain 140 lbs., I have also gained a little cellulite 😆 after 4 days of working out 💪🏽 I have already observed a slight difference and I'm loving the "definition." I'm homeless right now and I was able to charge my phone, the associates are very polite and the members here at the gym are very friendly.
