So sad to see what this gym has become. I’ve been coming since they first opened and ever since covid it has gone downhill. Very dirty. Machines are broke and take months to fix. Basketball court has been down for months. Spa broken. Treadmills are an absolute disaster! Numerous barbells just missing from benches. Trash all over parking lot. Multiple homeless people living in their cars in parking spaces. Time to look elsewhere.

They stole $60 from me. I was promised a waiver for the $60 fee on my annual subscription and I followed up for an entire year to no avail. They kept telling me it was being processed and I never got it. The guy who made the deal with me is not longer there (Chris) and I sent an email to another manager (Erik) to follow up but did not get a response. It's not about the money - it's about the principle. You make a deal - you follow through. It's amazing that a company that makes so much money steals from it's customers. There are likely thousands of others who have been similarly stiffed.

This place is extremely dirty and there are machines that have been broken for a year. If they do decide to fix something it takes 3 to 4 months. I only go here because of how early I have to work out. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Update 5/13/25
Nothing has changed. The pull up assist machine is still broken, it's been broken since May of 2024. Two benches at the dumbbell area are still broken and they have been broken for at least 6 months. A new bench has broken on the other side where there are lighter dumbbells and I'm assuming it will take months to fix. It is still very dirty around the machines, any tight crevice that can't be hit quickly with a vacuum has accumulated gross amounts of hair and god knows what else.

They don't fix the machines or benches, so many machines and benches are broken and the one in the picture has been broken since May of 2024. I'm actively tell people not to join this gym.

This place was sparkling when it opened but is having significant cleanliness and maintenance issues. No hot water in the shower. Three of the benches on the second floor were missing their bars. At least one drinking fountain is always broken, usually multiple. Floors in the locker room and fountains frequently have dirt on them. Visibility in the pool is marginal. The pile of broken glass from a vehicle break in remains in the parking lot for two weeks. Etc.

I feel like I wasted my money. I go upstairs and most machines are broken. If they don't have a "machine repair in progress" sign, then either a major component of the machine is missing or there arent any pins for the weight setting. The few working machines are typically taken.
I guess it's fine if you only want to do calisthenics?

I've been the member at 24 hour fitness for a few years now. But today I had a problem, but it was my own fault. I dropped my ear pods and they fell inside the stairstepper machine, at the top of the stairs. To get them out, someone would have to take the shrouding apart. I spoke with the front desk and met Christian. He was very helpful. I want to take this moment to compliment his customer service. Thank you Christian!

Relatively clean space and newer machines are plus. This gym has a pool and sauna which is good as well. But no control on people that are using it without an etiquette. Some people jumped in the pool in sweat shorts without taking short shower and come in sauna in smelly shoes.

I love 24hr fitness, but this facially has degraded so much I couldn’t get any of my workout days here. What happened to this place?
I used to come here all the time a year ago and everything worked.
NOW:
Half the machines are broken or degraded so much you can’t use it
No basketball court
Weights are everywhere or just missing. No 2.5lbs or 5lbs to be anywhere
Most Cables are so sticky you can’t use them.
Bathrooms / hot tub are still gross
Loudest treadmills I’ve ever heard

WARNING: Horrible Gym Experience – Run Away Before Signing!

I am writing to express my utter disgust and frustration with the appalling state of your gym facilities and the abysmal customer service I have endured since purchasing a membership on 10/7/25.

When I called to buy the membership, I was shocked—actually pleasantly surprised—to be given a $25 discount off the advertised price. Little did I know this was the only “perk” I would get. Upon my first visit, I was greeted with an absolute nightmare: a ton of weight machines out of order, forcing members to wait endlessly just to get a turn. I didn’t expect a brand-new nightmare but hoped the problem would be fixed quickly. I asked at the front desk and was told the machines would be repaired in a couple of days. Spoiler alert: that was a blatant lie.

A few days later, I returned, only to find *more* machines broken. That wasn’t all. Half the treadmills and bikes were also out of service! How does a gym function when HALF the equipment is nonexistent? If this was a “gym,” I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a sick joke.

Trying to stay hydrated, I headed to the water dispensers—and what a disgusting surprise awaited me! Mold COVERED the dispensers, and none of them were even working. Moisture and mold at a gym? Gross beyond belief!

Undeterred, I went back a few days later—NO improvement whatsoever. I tried the swimming pool area and the steam room only to find the steam room CLOSED and broken. Then the showers… oh man, the showers. Out of 8 stalls, 4 were completely gone, and the remaining four were covered in black mold on the tiles, beyond filthy. It was so nasty I was overwhelmed with disgust.

When I raised my concerns at the front desk, I was flat-out told, “It is what it is, and if you don’t like it, don’t use our gym.” I was absolutely dumbfounded by the callousness and sheer lack of respect. I then escalated to the corporate office, only to be told that because I paid for a yearly membership and had checked in a couple of times, I’m NOT entitled to a refund. Are you kidding me?

To anyone even considering this place: BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Visit the gym *first* before signing any contract. Unless you want to waste your money on broken equipment, mold infestations, and embarrassingly poor service, keep looking elsewhere. This place is a disaster and an affront to anyone who values cleanliness, functioning equipment, and basic respect.

The gym’s broken equipment and poor cleanliness are bad enough—but the management is worse. Eric, the manager, responded to my suggestion with outright hostility and unprofessionalism. When I asked for his last name and the district manager’s contact info, he refused to provide either. I tried escalating the issue myself, but never heard back. If leadership won’t even acknowledge concerns, it’s clear the problems go deeper than one location.

I have rated Eric 5 stars for the improvements he has made at the 24 Hour Fitness Livermore Club. I have been coming to this club since January 2022 doing classes in the Group X Room. Today was the first time I could feel the air conditioning in the room since one one ceiling fan is working.

A member told me that Eric is responsible for having the air conditioning unit and filters cleaned for the first time in years (maybe a decade) and I didn’t feel like I was going to pass out from the heat during my class. The floors are clean, there’s a long cord to plug in the fan, and the mirrors are clean with no hand prints on them.

Thank you to Eric for all of the positive changes he has made in this club in a short period of time. The members in my Silver Sneakers Zumba class and I appreciate you! 💙🤍

This location is honestly a joke- there is no management to address any customer concerns. I had a concern back in July and have gone in the facility numerous times with the same broken record of “there’s no manager to help.” It seems like machines are neglected and don’t get fixed for MONTHS. The women’s bathroom has had a light gone out in the toilet area for months with no eta of fixture. It’s disappointing knowing how much people pay for this crappy facility- if you’re going to charge so much a month for a membership then actually use it towards fixing equipment and hire a competent manager.

I just started my personal workout with Nina Hernandez yesterday. I am blind, so she attended the yoga class with me and gave me all the necessary directions while the instructor was teaching all The poses. Nina was really good and I was able to understand her directions very well and I really enjoyed the class! I attend the Silver Sneakers classes on Monday’s and Wednesday’s at noon. This class has helped me greatly. I’ve gained muscle strength which improved my stability. Ronza the instructor pays close attention all in class to ensure we are all doing the exercises correctly. She provides multiple levels of each exercise so all who attend can work at their level. She makes working out fun and most of all she actually cares about the people who attend. Great class great instructor! We need more of her classes!!!

Visiting member. Wanted to do a workout while the wife shopped. SEVERAL tread mills not working and they did not have out of order signs on them. Two worked but rocked so bad no one used them. Locker room floors and shower area clean (thank you) but the shower walls full of mold. In reading other reviews seems like an ongoing issue with a BS boiler plate response from management. "Thank you for bring to our attention blah, blah, blah..." With nothing being done about it. Just another sign of poor management not walking their gym or carrying. Horrible gym! Parking lot full of homeless people and car break-ins. Disgusting bathrooms, showers full of mold, broken machines, dirty water fountains, toilets filthy, broken jacuzzi, broken basketball court, broken sauna, and lazy employees wasting time at the front desk.

On top of that, it looks like they’re giving themselves fake good reviews mentioning their names. I would avoid this place at all costs.

The facility is manageable, but fails to maintain any of its equipment it seems. There have been missing barbells since before their revamp last year, and seems as though more go missing all the time. Broken equipment scatters the facility and is rarely repaired. I approached a gentleman at the front desk today at 3:50 to ask how hard it is to have said equipment gotten or repaired, and instead of listening to me, he repeatedly said “Sure, sure, sure” to then tell me there are problems with the basketball court and a pool pump. Both problems are much newer than the pre-existing ones, and the guy was rude, attempted belittlement, and got mad that I would even ask the question. As a business owner, I feel he went about his customer service approach in a completely inappropriate manner.

Friendly staff & low memebership fees! I rarely see "out of service" equipment. My biggest issue is the lack of cleanliness. The upstairs, unisex restrooms are covered in urine (seats & floor). People spit their gum out on the floor & weight equipment. There is a water bottle that sat for weeks on a windowsill (it has now been moved to the top of the lockers) that is growing something inside. They really need to invest in regular cleaners and a gum scraper.

Terrible and disgusting practices. Yeah its better than other 24’s but that doesn’t mean this one isn’t still terrible.

Machinery and bathrooms are usually disgusting 80% of the time when I go. I feel like we have to remind them to go clean or refill instead of them having a schedule or timely manner of doing so.

Machines are broken for months and the basketball court just went out till who knows when.

Management is a joke and I know it stems from the corporate but all they do is care about pleasing their bosses instead of caring for the members.

All they really care about is money and not the people in front of them, they try to do shady stuff to encourage people to buy training packages and dont really care about actually making a difference for them.

Its a disappointment that a place for people’s well being only cares about how much money they can pull from them.

I rarely write public reviews; however, as a longtime member of the Livermore 24 Hour Fitness Supersport, the persistent decline in this facility’s condition compels me to speak up.

Following a recent closure for “renovations,” I returned with optimism, anticipating a refreshed and improved environment. Sadly, the changes were superficial at best. The gym remains in a deteriorated state, with numerous maintenance issues that raise serious questions about health, safety, and operational oversight.

Facility and Equipment Conditions:

- Many machines have been broken or malfunctioning for months, with no signs of repair.
- Equipment padding is torn and abrasive, foam rollers are disintegrating, and mats are visibly damaged and also abrasive.
- Floors throughout the gym are filthy, and weights are often scattered and left untouched for weeks—creating both a safety hazard and an atmosphere of neglect.
- Lights hang precariously from ceilings, and floor tiles are damaged or missing, again posing visible physical hazards.
- The elevators and Basketball court have also been out of commission with no sign of repair for months now.

Staff Oversight and Cleanliness:

- Over the past several months, I’ve routinely observed 5–7+ staff members congregating at the front desk—talking and laughing—while ignoring the facility’s obvious issues.
- Since the beginning of COVID in 2020, members have not had access to complimentary towels, suggesting a reduction in staff responsibilities. Yet, despite fewer duties, the facility’s cleanliness has only worsened.
- Bathroom/locker room conditions are especially disturbing: toilets and urinals remain out of order for extended periods, supplies such as toilet paper and seat covers are routinely missing, and unsanitary conditions persist despite how popular this local gym is.

Sanitation and Health Concerns:

- The removal of spray disinfectant bottles—with only watered-down foaming sanitizer stations left in their place—is deeply concerning. Several stations seem to contain water rather than actual cleaning agents. (pictures attached of an actual foaming sanitizer station and a separate picture of a sanitizer station mostly filled with water).
- With no paper towels and virtually no method to sanitize equipment, members are exposed to a heightened risk of bacterial or staph infections. I have started to bring my own sanitizing wipes due to this concern. This risk is exacerbated by dirty floors, broken fixtures, and poorly ventilated spaces.
- Other nearby 24 Hour Fitness locations (i.e., Pleasanton and San Ramon) have implemented effective solutions, such as tethered spray bottles, but Livermore has not followed suit.

Comparative Standards:
I think it is easy for 24 Hour leadership and others to say “go to another gym (i.e. Equinox, the Livermore Tennis Club, etc.) when the reality is that the state of the gym is unacceptable.

Our local gas stations, retail stores (i.e. Walmart and Target), and our shopping outlets—with equal or greater foot traffic—maintain cleaner properties and restrooms and more rigorous sanitation protocols than this gym with many of them having posted logs showing that they have been checked and cleaned. I have never seen one person cleaning at this gym.

The difference between these gas stations and stores – we don’t pay them a monthly or annual fee. Why, then, are we tolerating such substandard conditions for a relatively expensive gym?

Final Thoughts:

This facility’s current state reflects a serious lapse in leadership, responsibility, and accountability. I’ve worked in retail and hospitality management for over a decade, and I would be profoundly embarrassed if any of my own properties were in this state.

Please help me urge Livermore 24 Hour Fitness leadership to prioritize immediate action. The health, safety, and dignity of your members expect nothing less when paying for an expensive gym.

Poorly maintained facility. Spinning class bikes are breaking one by one with no attempt or intent to repair them, yet they still allow people to book classes for non existent bikes.

Adding a follow up.. showed up 35 mins early today for a body pump class that I reserved and all the usable barbells are already taken. (Usable equipment far less than the number of spots in the class). This place is a joke.

This gym has become really disappointing lately.

First, the chlorine level in the pool is excessive — after swimming, some of the hair on my arms turned white, and my hair still smelled like chlorine even after washing. This is not normal and could be harmful. Please check the pool’s chemical balance urgently.

Second, the shower facilities are in terrible condition:
• Body wash is often empty and not refilled
• Broken showerheads remain unfixed
• Lights in the shower area don’t work, making it dark and uncomfortable

On top of that, many gym machines are out of order, and some just stop working in the middle of a session. Repairs are slow and inconsistent.

Overall, maintenance and management have been really poor. I hope the staff can take these issues seriously — otherwise, it’s hard to justify staying as a member.

Started bringing my own keepers and 2.5 plates because they’re either lost or stolen. Resistance bands: stolen. Assisted dip/pull-up machines: broken. Trap bar: no idea if it exists here. I’d taken Pleasanton over this gym. Shame on me for not going there first.

This place has really gone downhill since it's opening. I don't think they've maintained the equipment since it opened. Much of the equipment has torn cushions or isn't in safe working order. The dumbell rack is missing several pieces. The drinking fountains don't look sanitary. Staff seems friendly though. Whoever is managing the facility maintenance needs to address these issues.

First impressions go a long way. When I contacted this facility because 24 Hour Fitness Corporate was not responding to my email inquiries, this facility went out of their way to assist me. Both CJ and Travis were quick to offer assistance as a liaison. While they were very upfront and honest of the potential for an unfavorable outcome, they took the time to assist me with achieving some type of resolution that aimed to be mutually beneficial. Thank you, Travis and CJ, and the Livermore facility for cultivating an environment where employees treat members with dignity.

I'm really concerned about any reviews more than 2 stars. This should be looked into. It's impossible for these reviews to be real.

I'd give this place zero stars, but they're in a good location. Right next to the freeway which is convenient.
Constantly dirty bathrooms, broken equipment, half the fans and TV's are not working, they never even heard of preventive maintenance, and poorly managed. This place was a clean gym before the pandemic. If they do fix something its usually a rigged fix. Very disappointed. I'd be more than happy to take this review down if they fix half of the issues, or maybe even give them a 4 or 5 star review
