Lyn is an amazing member of the staff at 24 Hour Fitness. Not only is she super helpful and nice as can be, but she is a true leader. I was in the midst of a very tense situation brought on my another member. Can't go into detail, just know that knuckle sandwiches were about to be served in the parking lot. That was when Lyn took over and diffused the situation. On a scale of 1-10, we were at a 12 and Lyn calmed everything down, all while keeping her composure, calling for management and helping other members.

When Shane arrived, the situation was down to a 4 or a 5 and he finished everything up very professionally and kept two members from getting into serious trouble. Needless to say; without Lyn, it would have been very messy. I am very thankful for Lyn and Shane.

Very small and usually very crowded. Other than treadmills and elliptical machines, of which, there are quite a few, but still mostly in use during the 5 to 7 PM, there is not enough of the other equipment, especially for abdominal crunches, leg exercises and upper body. As a result, there is significant wait to use other equipment. It also doesn't help when some members don't have common courtesy or understand gym etiquette or societal norms and occupy the equipment for 30 or more minutes while checking their phones, watching videos on their phones in between too many sets. It is worse when friends or couples are rotating using the same equipment and in between sets still using their phones. On top of not having enough equipment and the 1990s bathroom and locker room, they allow too many young kids 12-17 year olds for free that tie up the limited equipment.

Remodel looks great and a lot more leg machines however the curl and tricep extension machines are gone😞. Everything looks great and very accessible, however the vendors outside are very persistent on what they have to sell you and keep hounding you when you try and walk away

This gym is so bad, its called 24 hour fitness yet only opened 17 hours a day and close even earlier on Fridays and the weekend from 8 to 8 only half of what the gym is called, not only that but the machines suck and are either to damaged to see how much Weight your doing or out of service, I plan on going to Eos fitness soon

I’m extremely impressed with the gym’s manager, Shane. He’s always warm, friendly and welcoming. Today I witnessed a member of his team, Lynn, deal with a disgruntled gym member with a calm, tactful demeanor. Lynn was empathetic, a good listener and knew exactly what to say to pacify this angry person. (All while welcoming incoming members at the front desk). I speak with experience - I was a customer service manager at a large pharmaceutical company. Frankly I’m not sure if I could’ve handled the situation with as much poise and self-confidence as Lynn displayed today. In addition, the gym has amazing teachers like Wendy W. She starts my Tuesday and Thursday mornings on such an upbeat note! I go to other 24 Hour gyms on occasion, but never feel as much warmth and camaraderie as I do at 24 Hour Fitness on Chapman.

I’ve been going to this location for almost 34 years. On the plus side it’s close to my home and some of the people I began with are still working out with me, life long friends!

On the negative side, I’ve been through 3 (I think it could be more) remodels of the Chapman facility and they have yet to get the air conditioning to work properly. Many of us have talked with the managers. We are all told the same thing, they have no control over the temperature. The gym is hot, stuffy with no air circulation. There are no fans over all that new equipment they just put in, so the air never moves. Often I come in when the gym opens. The air conditioner doesn’t come on until 7:30-8:00 am. This situation is unique to this club. Other facilities I’ve attended do not have this problem. I know several members who have left because it’s just too hot to work out. I’m hoping someone from corporate will read this and fix the air conditioning and add fans above the next equipment. A girl can only hope.

Update to my review
I received an auto reply email that directed me to the club manager who is aware of the situation. I would appreciate some one from corporate to contact me and/or to correct the situation. At a minimum lower the thermostat.
