Life is hectic, the only thing more challenging than starting a new workout program, is getting into the gym and signing up when it feels like you have zero time to spare. Membership representative, ZIN, got me in, signed up for the best program for my wallet and out again, in what I would consider the speediest enrollment and setup I have ever experienced. Zin is bright, honest, open and transparent. I'm only sorry I didn't take a few minutes to get in before. If you are thinking about joining a gym, I suggest you head on over to 24 Hour Fitness at the Collection and squeeze it in during the first break you get. Thank you, Zin!

The customer service here is unbelievably rude and aggressive. The staff handling memberships — including a girl with brown hair...were disrespectful and offensive. Instead of helping, they talked down to me and made the entire process uncomfortable. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a gym. There are plenty of other fitness centers nearby that actually care about their members — this is definitely not one of them.

Then I brought up my shame of not being consistent as well as my goals of workouts I am interested in and he suggested the perfect options for me that encouraged me. Shockingly Rude Staff – Never Coming Back
This used to be my favorite gym in Oxnard… until now. I came back after a year with a simple 3-day pass to check if the pool and equipment were finally fixed — and instead got humiliated by one of the rudest employees I’ve ever met.
The night-shift guy at the front desk (white hair, skinny, around his 50s) acted like I was some kind of criminal just for walking in. He looked terrified, backed away from the counter like I was a threat, and then threw accusations at me about “just wanting a free gym.” Excuse me?! That’s how you treat someone thinking about renewing a yearly membership?
I tried to remind this man I used to be member when Daniel and Robert were Managers here and got upset and angry... He claimed that "EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED NOW"......"THEY (probably his bosses) ARE VERY STRICT"...and so denied me access because I have an out-of-state ID (Nevada), I couldn’t use the trial pass. When I tried to ask for clarification, he literally backed away from the desk, shaking, and refused to answer my questions. Then, instead of helping or explaining, he accused me of “just wanting a free gym.” then said "you may wanna join the other homeless outside of this establishment" and then he continued with veiled insults and provoking me hoping to get some wrong reaction so I stepped away and left but I was shocked.

It's simply disgusting.

The level of disrespect was unbelievable. Other gym members were staring, confused, watching the whole thing go down. What a disgusting way to represent a brand that used to stand for health, community, and respect.
If this paranoid, unprofessional attitude is the “new standard,” then 24 Hour Fitness Oxnard has officially hit rock bottom.

Stay away. This place is no longer about fitness — it’s about power trips and humiliation.

I had a terrible experience at 24 Hour Fitness. They refused to honor my free trial and made me pay $30 for a simple day pass instead. The staff member, Alex, was incredibly rude and unprofessional, which made the entire visit frustrating and uncomfortable. The place is overpriced, the customer service is awful. I’m there every day and for good reason, this gym is awesome. The people are the main reason to be honest, the vibes are friendly and respectful. The basketball court is a culture all to itself, so many people of all ages playing together. The staff is so amazing and friendly, so easy to talk to. Couldn’t recommend this gym more but make sure you re-rack your weights or you’re gonna bring us down 😫

This gym is absolutely gross, I have been to many 24 hr locations and this in particular lacks hygiene at an unacceptable level. I hope management starts being stricter about cleanliness standards steam and sauna stink and hot tub water often is green, pool has dust and many human fluids floating around. Have they seen the AC ducts and how those can cause mold and make people sick? C’mom I’m absolutely switching to another chain. This corporate literally is making millions on memberships and their facilities are junk. FR department of health needs to take a look to this facilities.

Saturday morning 8/30/25 at 9am. I understand you might be the cheapest gym around but having NO means to clean the equipment at 9 am on Saturday, when the gym is packed is unacceptable.
The worse part is that when I came down to let the employee know about the condition of the area he just shrugged and said: “oh yeah…” I looked at him and replied, “oh yeah, what? are you going to do something about it?” He replied: “When the cleaning person arrives…” I’m guessing 24h fitness pays this person $5 an hour to stand there and look busy?
Maybe you should save that money, get rid of those employees and let machines do the work, at least there would be no one to blame. Disgusting.

I got a 3 day pass to try out this gym , once I got there in order to use my pass I had to sign in for a membership... I wanted to check it out first, and see if this was something I was interested in, that's why I got a 3 day pass... very pushing 🫸, and prices aren't even cheap... I was rejected by the manager to used my pass for a day , even tho I had my code. Very bad costumer service, dont waist your time here, go to a different gym.

I’m writing to file a complaint about my experience at your location. I recently tried to use a valid 3-day guest pass, but the staff member named David was extremely rude and refused to honor it. He told me the only way I could enter was if I purchased a membership directly through him.
After speaking with other members, I found out I’m not the only one this has happened to — others have shared that David has also denied their guest passes unless they agreed to sign up for a membership. This feels like a manipulative sales tactic and made me feel very uncomfortable. Also when showing my pass he told me I needed an ID showed him my photo picture he said no that he couldn’t take that. He needed the physical ID so I walked where my car was which was parked a mile away from the gym then as I walked in he started saying that I needed to purchase a membership yet he made me walk to my car for an ID that wasn’t needed and made me waste my time .
I was genuinely interested in checking out the gym before committing, but this visit left me extremely disappointed. I hope this issue is taken seriously.

I’m submitting a complaint regarding a staff member named David at your location. He was rude and refused to honor my friend’s valid 3-day pass, insisting she could only access the gym if she bought a membership directly through him.

Additionally, several machines were out of order during our visit, and there were no warning signs or notices posted. This created safety concerns and added to an overall negative experience.

Very expensive for what they offer, the only good thing about this is that it’s open 24 hours but aside from that, it’s very dirty, lots of the equipment is rusty, broken and not taken care of. Pay 40 dollars a month to have one buddy pass that I can’t even change after enrolling. Very terrible policy. “Sales lead” is rude and has terrible customer service. As most have said, it’s dirty and poorly maintained. Recently joined after being out a few years after COVID. I should’ve opted out when I could. A lot of the machines are poorly maintained. They have missing or loose screws. The seats on machines are loose or don’t hold there place. I remember when this place was new, it has fallen off big time. I also make sure to use the restroom before I go because the restrooms are disgusting. They have a lady that cleans but only cleans glass. The floors have hair and dust all over the place. It’s hot and they don’t seem to want to run the AC lately. I have reported my concerns through there website and I never here back so it’s pointless. I don’t see any improvements. If you want to go see a better run 24 hour fitness that’s a bit older, use the Channel Islands club. It’s cleaner and the machines are better maintained.
