the whole hot tub looks like this tonight. the steam room smells like it's more mildew than tile. the sauna is off or low more than half the time I visit and people love carving swastikas into the wood here. the common area shower hasn't been hot for weeks and it smells like IRL sewage. I'm surprised this location hasn't been shut down or sued. surely someone is going to fall ill. other locations have managers that respond to questions/concerns. this location hasn't replied to my 4 or so requests of the past year or 2. it's actually gross enough for me to look into health inspection information.

Management is really horrible. Maintenance is almost not there Most of the time there isn’t any shampoo at the showers.
I have never seen any body cleaning, the showers’ walls are slippery due to lack of cleaning. If any thing breaks down, it takes months to fix.

Had a great workout at 11pm, this gym is packed every day and night 24/7. However when I went to use the steam room, members kept it open rightfully so and self shut down the steam room at 11pm or so. When I asked what was going on , people “steam room smells like urine”. I went in for 1 second and could confirm. This gym is disgusting, also it is completely full ALL the time, there seriously need cleaners every 8 hours or at least twice a day. I only come here when my other gym is closed.

This gym is in terrible condition. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, the pool and jacuzzi water were murky, and the steam room looked like it had mold or mildew. Even the glass doors at the entrance were smudged and dirty.

It’s clear this location is not being properly maintained. Whoever is managing it needs to be replaced. It’s disappointing to see a company that charges so much allow their facilities to reach this level of neglect.

This manager, when she is at the gym does not seem to care one dam about this gym. Too many times she is not there. The pool pump has been whining for 6 weeks. She does nothing. The sauna shuts off at prime times but she does nothing. The sauna is over 200 degrees but she does nothing. She cannot buy the simplest of things for the cleanup crew, a dust pan and a broom. There is trash and clumps of human hair all over the locker room. She wants to blame the MEMBERS but her employees never police the areas. More often they are on their cell phones than paying attention. No wonder theft is a big issue at this gym. I bet many people just walk in and the front desk never checks if people entering are members. I’ve been at this gym for 8 years and this is the worst I’ve seen it it’s getting worse. The manager before the current one improved the gym more than I have ever seen but corporate fired him. The one person who seemed to care and was friendly to the members finally quit because of this manager.

Update spotted a dead cockroach in the jacuzzi before I was suspended for a year. This is a disgusting cockroach infested pile of crap gym.

I usually come to this 24 Hour Fitness instead of the Blue Oaks location because it’s less crowded and overall has a better atmosphere. Most of the staff here have pretty good customer service — they greet you and make you feel welcome.

However, there’s one younger girl at the front desk (light hair, maybe blonde or light brown) who never acknowledges anyone. She’s usually on her phone or chatting with coworkers, and it just feels unprofessional. I get that not everyone loves their job, but a simple “hi” goes a long way when people walk in.

Other than that, the gym itself is clean, the equipment is usually available, and I like that it’s not overly busy.
I do wish it was more inviting though.

This location has become the ugly step-child of the Roseville locations. They simply don't give a crap. About anything. The workout area is not clean, and the middle aged blond woman thinks she's a hot chick and doesn't do anything but walk around with a vacuum that's never turned on while she drags her extension cord all over the place waiting for someone to trip on it, while she flirts with all the guys. The men's locker room and bathroom are always absolutely disgusting. I don't think the locker room floor has been cleaned, ever. Evidently they don't want you to wash your hands because two of the sinks have been missing faucet handles for months. Equipment on the floor stays broken and out of service for months at a time. I feel like I need a shower everytime I leave, not because of the workout, but because I was in that filthy place.

This gym is the definition of “do as I say, not as I do.” The manager struts around barking orders like she’s running a boot camp, but it’s painfully obvious she’s never touched a dumbbell in her life. Maybe if she actually used the gym, the machines wouldn’t be broken for months and the place wouldn’t look like a mix between a thrift store and a landfill. The floors are sticky, the weights are scattered everywhere, and the “cleaning spray bottles” are emptier than the staff’s motivation. For what they charge, you’d expect basic hygiene, working treadmills, and a manager who knows what a squat rack is. Sadly, you’ll get none of the above here.

The club is going downhill with the equipment. Seems like this is where cardio equipment goes to die. Cable machines constantly broken and the flow of where things are continues to be an issue. Multiple swastikas on the walls of the sauna, carved and drawn, some have been here for months. Signs say the steam room is being cleaned(these signs have been up for a very long time) but it is clearly full of mildew, no way it is safe to breath in there. I would’ve given this gym a 4 star review until I saw the lack of monitoring during peel hours. A bunch of kids skipping the check in causing it to be busier during peel hours and the front desk not being strict about checking in causes a poor experience due to overflow.

Update: I am reducing my review from 2 stars down to one. I had an entitled staff member behaving like I was intruding in his own personal gym. Verbatim the words that came out of his mouth was “I’m going to use that, you cant use chalk, you can’t touch those weights with chalk, I’m telling you this because I’m a manager” as he’d been laying down on 2 box jump boxes massaging himself. What a pathetic excuse of a manager if he even is one.

If you're thinking of joining 24 hour fitness, don't. I switched from Planet Fitness, thinking this would be an upgrade. It is most certainly not. If I wasn't already committed and paid up for a year, I would go back. This is going to sound like hyperbole, but it isn't...every location I have been to (5 or 6 locations in 3 different cities) has been filthy and in various states of disrepair. This particular location, as an example: out of 2 drinking fountains, one doesn't work at all, the other dispenses warm water. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting absolutely every time. Only one hand dryer and one soap dispenser work. I realize the pandemic was challenging for you guys financially but it's been almost 5 years.

Clogged toilet in the women’s restroom for over 4 weeks and today the ADA stall was overflowing onto the floor. Toilet stall door hinges are broken as well and I was just informed by the GM that since they “function” replacing them is low priority even though someone could clearly be injured as a result. One of the doors won’t even lock because the hinge is broken. This place gets wrecked on by members who clearly don’t care and staff is not interested in finding out who is responsible for the damage and kicking them out. Instead they post signage asking members to be respectful while acknowledging that excessive toilet seat covers contribute to clogged toilets. (I suggested removing them, they’re not required to provide them and then they couldn’t be abused.) This leaves the rest of us who pay our membership and use the gym respectfully to suffer.

Roseville and Folsom clubs. The exercise floor and weight areas are consistently full of wads of hair that run around collecting dust bunnies. The men's lockerroom and shower areas, especially the floor, are so filthy and poorly maintained (so disgusting) all of the time. It's surprising that the health department hasn't shut them down.

It's very clea there is not even the slightest effort made to maintaining the cleanliness of these facilities. This isn't rocket science.

I’m new in this area and I wanted to try this gym and the guy who was “trying” to help me, said: “you have to pay 30$ to start FREE TRIAL, I applied for 3 free days pass and he said it’s not gonna work, he tried to convince me, that official website that I’ve been using to get free pass to try, was old and I can’t use it. He was asking me what’s my goals in the gym and was rude with his comments. When I asked to talk with a manager, he told me there’s not manager at all. I asked him, what if I didn’t like this gym, what’s gonna happen with my money, he laughed at me and said I can show you gym right now, and your money not gonna be refunded, literally tried to scam me. That was in may 26, around 10-11pm. Fire this guy, doesn’t know what he’s doing.

I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for over 25. The North Sunrise/Roseville location has not updated it's weights, machines, and just about any of its equipment since before I signed up. So much so that 6 months ago, last time I came here, the reverse fly machine stuck and I ended up with a serious injury to my back with a herniated disc between my C6-7. It's lacking in cleanliness functionality, and just general decent gym equipment. I don't think the franchise owner or corporate has invested any money into this gym except for pure maintenance just to keep these systems barely functioning. This will be the last time I come to this gym. For a mere $15 a month there is a stellar and clean gym at Planet Fitness. And, for just $10 more I get tanning, massage beds, massage chairs, and a lounge area. I've had dual membership for 2 years; sorry 24, I give up on hoping for improvements..

Disappointed with First Experience

I signed up for a 3-day guest pass through the 24 Hour Fitness website, which made no mention of any holiday restrictions. When I arrived at the location, I was told I couldn’t use the pass because it was Easter. It was frustrating to find out in person when that information should’ve been clearly communicated online.

To make matters worse, the front desk staff was unprofessional. No greeting when I walked in—just a blank stare until they finished their own conversation. When I finally got their attention, they casually told me I could “try another 24 Hour Fitness.” It was not a welcoming or helpful experience at all.

Not the impression I expected on day one. Definitely reconsidering whether this is the right gym for me.

Decent gym but lacks cleanliness and some of their equipment was broken. The sauna had broken pieces of wood, and the dryer for swim trunks was broken. The men’s locker room was pretty dirty, band aids all over the floor, hair in the drains, and same goes for the gym floor. They had a really large selection of equipment which was great I didn’t have to wait at all to get my workout in. Different locations vary in hours and such but we really didn’t appreciate the lack of communication. It was OBVIOUS we only wanted to hoop but his attitude was very uncaring and we have to wait till tomorrow for a refund (which is impossible cause we have to go out of town for work.)

I've been to this gym back in 2022-2024 i had a decent experience but after seeing stuff that made me regret going inside the women's locker room not clean at all I found bloody tampons and pads scattered in the toilet area i was Digusted and appalled and the smell of them made me sick all I smelled was rotten fish and other nasty things and the girls in the sauna room seem to have sauna smelling awful I suddenly realized i had to cancel my member immediately I was Digusted and appalled and grossed out there was black mold on the tiles in the womens locker room how in the world is this safe and hygienic i wouldn't come back here anymore half of the time the spa wasn't working either or there was sand inside it i would come back here again not even with my fiancé at all, all these 24 hour fitness gyms are unhygienic and other stuff how in the world do they manage to stay open still you cannot manage a place like that and have these safety hazards going around I'll be going to another gym in the meantime I'm highly disappointed

I was a Member of 24 fitness a year ago I mainly got my membership to learn and play basketball. There were lots of problems…. The location on Fulton basketball court must’ve been 100° inside. I complained to the manager explaining the thermostat showed Close to 80° and They’re supposed to have the air on. Everyone in the gym agreed with me, but nobody actually took any action! So, I go to the Citrus Heights location. The problem over there is that Monday through Thursday. They have a kids basketball trading academy so you can’t even Playing in the evenings after you get Off of work. Finally, I decided to visit the (ROSEVILLE) location And was sadly disappointed there as well. They were high number of people in the gym all trying to get into a game and while the game was going on There were a couple of people like myself trying to practice as the game was unfolding running from one side of the court to the other as to not get in their way. It was complete chaos, nothing organized or professional and the common theme in all three basketball courts was dim lighting… Actually, the lighting was throughout the whole building not just in the basketball court, made her feel depressing!
I am shocked that I’ve searched the Internet and there’s not one proper review of the basketball courts the 24 hour fitness provides. I’m sure I’m not the only person that feels this way but people don’t have the courage or boldness to speak up!
The weird thing was when I joined Villa, Sports Club and (ROSEVILLE) they’re beautiful huge basketball court was mostly dead all the time, not much traffic!! People can’t afford the nice basketball court at Villa Sports Club so they have to make do with 24 fitness drama!

Sauna and steam room shut off around 9:00 pm, came in around 10 pm and both steam room and sauna were shut off, staff stated its being repaired but it been few months and it still hasnt been fixed. When steam room does works its is dirty and
not cleaned every day, be careful or else inhaling moldy sauna might make you sick. Came back twice from steam room and I tasted bitterness in my mouth after being in steam room, nobody cleans it. Floor to pools are literally dirt filled. It needs to be cleaned properly every day in order to operate. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms. They just look dirty. Also the showers. Sometimes several stalls don’t have soap and there’s usually one or two faucets that are not working. I got this gym membership for the Sauna and during the day it works fine. In the evening the staff turns off the sauna early. Every other 24hr has them on 24/7 don’t understand.

I’m extremely disappointed with this 24 Hour Fitness location. Unlike other 24 Hour Fitness gyms in the area, this one turns off their sauna at or around 10-11 PM, completely defeating the purpose of being a “24-hour” gym. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for a membership expecting full access to amenities at all hours, only to find that this location arbitrarily decides to shut off the sauna early.

Every other 24 Hour Fitness I’ve visited keeps the sauna on 24/7, as it should be. If they’re not going to provide the same amenities as other locations, they need to be upfront about it. The staff offers no real explanation for this inconvenience except ‘a broken piece that’s needs to changed’ which is interesting that the piece seems to be working throughout the day until magically about 9-10PM when it ‘breaks’. It feels like they’re just cutting corners at the expense of paying members.

I had a terrible experience at this 24 hour. I signed up for a free guest pass online and had the email with me to verify I had registered. I drove 20 minutes to get there so I could get a workout in while I’m in town visiting for my grandma’s 90th bday, and the front desk guy said that offer only applies if you live nearby, so he would need to charge me $20 for a day pass.

I asked him to show me where in the email it mentioned anything about location exclusions and he wasn’t able to because there was nothing stating that. He went on to explain how the promotion’s intention was to attract local guests, which I can understand, but it wasn’t marketed that way and it was a total waste of my time and complete bait and switch.

I’ve belonged to 24 hour fitness in the past at multiple points when my circumstances work well with going to a big box gym. I also have a home gym and toddlers so right now I’m working out at home but commercial gyms have their advantages. Next time I’m in the market for a gym membership, I definitely will not be joining 24 hour. Terrible service and very disappointing.

Had got a pass for three days to try out to see if I would like this gym . Came at 10pm to work out and was told I was not able to workout after I already took pre workout. This is a great gym that I have been a member since 1998. The staff is professional and friendly. Always clean and able to use the equipment in a timely manner. I never have to wait for a machine. This gym is intentionally racially profiling some of its customers by now closing the basketball courts at night. This gym used to be lit just because of its basketball courts, which was one of the only reasons I had a pass. Due to the intentional change in hours it’s time to cancel my gym pass…

I was satisfied with my workout here. Was my first time coming to this location. It did not disappoint. It’s rare when I leave the gym happy but this location made me happy. I’m twenty minutes drive from this location but it’s worth the gas. Even in busy hours there plenty of equipment that’s still available and people there would not mind sharing the machines as well. Loved it. The one thing I would like to see improved is to have more sanitizer stations around the building because there’s not enough .

This gym is an absolute disaster. The unsanitary conditions alone are enough to make you think twice about stepping foot in there. The floors are filthy, and the equipment is in such poor condition that it feels like they haven't been maintained in years. To top it off, the cleaning sprayer was hanging off the edge of the trash can for the longest time—clearly, no one with any common sense is running this place.

But it doesn't stop there. I almost fell victim to a pair of thieves in the pool area. After entering the sauna and the disgustingly outdated, moldy steam room, I noticed a suspicious couple: a white man with red fuzzy hair, wearing light blue-rimmed glasses, a multicolored Hawaiian swim suit, and a Home Depot t-shirt, along with his accomplice—a thin white woman. They came out of the locker rooms and placed a "recycled" Trader Joe's bag right next to the bench where I had left my bag of towels, wallet, and cell phones, hidden and tied up. As I walked out of the steam room, I caught the man peeking under my shirt into our bag. When he realized I was watching him, he pretended he made a mistake, but it was obvious what he was trying to do. His accomplice, meanwhile, was in the jacuzzi, clearly keeping watch. After I caught on, they quickly exited through the street-facing glass door, which doesn’t even close properly—likely how they got in unnoticed.

As if the filth and the near-theft experience weren't bad enough, when I mentioned the gross and unimaginable state of the women's locker room showers to the employee at the front desk, I was met with a blank stare and a half-open mouth. It was like he was in another world, completely indifferent to the issue. After pressing him, he mumbled something about the showers being cleaned once a week, then changed his story to 3 or 4 times a week when I reacted with shock. The showers, lockers, and handles are in such a decrepit state that my guest refused to shower after using the pool.

I paid a yearly sum for this membership, thinking it was a top-notch facility. Instead, I’ve found myself stuck with a rundown, mismanaged dump. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place at all costs.

I got my girlfriend a one year membership for her birthday for $400, not realizing that they automatically charge my credit card the same price each year. This year when I noticed the charge on my credit card statement, I immediately called them to cancel thinking that since she hadn't used the club since before the charge they would refund the whole $400, or at least all but one month of it. The guy I talked to on the phone was inflexible, explaining that they charge for the full year & cancellations take affect at the next billing date. Thinking this wouldn't fly in a court or the reasonable world, I disputed the charge with my credit card company, who gave me a temporary credit. 24 Hour didn't like this so they charged me another $400. I called & talked to another manager who was also more interested in taking our money than in providing customer services & perhaps creating customer loyalty with 2 people by being flexible & compromising. I explained that if it was my business, instead of being inflexible & trying to charge people for something they hadn't used & didn't want at this point, I would first offer a compromise. I would acknowledge that the current annual rate had actually decreased since we initially bought it & ask if giving us that rate would entice us to stay. If not, I'd ask what I could do to keep you as customers. If nothing, I'd realize that showing flexibility would be better for this relationship & potentially get them & others to sign up again in the future because they had a good experience. That's not today's customer service.

I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which immediately got their attention. They contacted me & told me they'd send me a check for $400. When they did, I resolved the case with BBB, not realizing that my credit card company reversed the credit, so now I had $800 in charges & had only received one check for half that amount. I contacted 24 hour several more times to try to resolve but they won't respond.

Moral of the story, read the fine print & don't trust anyone. If you choose to pay annually to get a discount, know that you are authorizing them to charge that same amount in future years. I wouldn't trust them to cancel, even if you did so ahead of time. If you do, make sure you have a solid paper trail & be willing to work your @$$ off to get your money back. Like most corporations, this company isn't about relationships. It's about money.

I didn't think they could charge my card because i had lost my card & my account number had changed, but my credit card company allowed recurring charges to my old account # for "my convenience." So don't trust anyone to do the right thing & do your due diligence.

I thought was funny that they hung their spray bottle holder upside down so I took a photo.

Since this is public, I expect 24 Hour may respond with a style over substance fake response like "we apologize for the experience you've had. We strive to...our policy is to..." Typical corporate hiding behind policy instead of engaging in customer service & satisfaction. I hope someone at 24 Hour proves me wrong. They are charging us for a membership we haven't been able to use for 2 months while fighting this.

How is this place getting this bad. Like seriously what is management doing. Closed the club to clean it and already looks bad. This what we members are going to have to experience? A monthly club closure for a C grade cleaning? Here’s an idea, maintain! Whirlpool wasn't working 6/2/24 and it's been down a week had a roach floating in the water, steamroom had empty plastic bottles and tiles had black spots, a spider was crawling into the sauna. Think maintenance is an issue at this one. I left without showering to a different location.

If a black individual is recording himself the camera is not directly facing anyone but himself you cannot see who comes and goes. Why did your staff treat him in such a disgusting manner and then began to throw lies around saying that he would be trespassed and his account would be froze after he stopped recording and left the premises only to come back to look for his AirPods with no direct angle on the members in your gym. In one word disgusting!
Everything feels dirty. The locker room floors have crust caked in the corners and edges. There was debris on the floor and throughout the locker room and gym. I don't believe this place has been cleaned in 10 years.
There is a wide variety of equipment, with basketball courts, swimming pool, sauna... This place has the potential to be awesome. There is loads of staff. Unfortunately, their jobs must not be cleaning.
Just so you know I just recently rejoined 24hr site unseen and had left before for the same reason. Also, this is not like a one off. Every time I've gone in it's like this.

Shopping for a new gym membership and was excited to try this place out. I received a free 3-day trial through their website and received a call/email from their manager confirming the free trial and setting up a time to come in. When I came in, I was told that the location did not do free trials and was turned away. Even after I let them know that I had an email and text confirmation, they did not bother to look at and said that they did not do that and would need to pay to workout. I was so confused as to why the website offers a free trial was offered if they do not honor it. Needless to say, I wasted my time and left confused and filled with anxiety.

Update March 2024 : New Roseville club is now open 24/7. Friendly and supportive staff. Locker rooms and showers kept clean. Numerous machines and treadmills. Unfortunately, still slow at repairs, such as two showers down for a month.

Locker room is dirty, swimsuit spinner is broken and I was told they plan on removing instead of fixing. Pool is dirty and water felt like they think extra chlorine is a replacement for cleaning. I've been with 24 Hour Fitness since 2004 without any issues until this past week when I was targeted, bullied, and intimidated by one of the senior staff members because she didn't think my son was of age as he was my guest. Instead of asking me, she sends her boyfriend to intimidate my son and I as he frolics through the gym slamming weights and taking off his shirt to show his muscles, acting a fool, and even had the audacity to come up and ask the age of my son, he was not even an employee! I see them colluding after at which point I asked for her name. They become defensive and he approaches me with his tail tucked between his legs as he admits to being her boyfriend and in fact doing her job for her trying to check my son's age. When my suspicions were confirmed, I refused to engage with them any longer and told them my intention to approach management about the situation. At this point, I was made the villain and cussed out by the boyfriend in front of my son, class act!! My son is now intimidated to go back. I normally would let it go but the fact they have ruined my bonding moment with my son is unforgiveable. Now she has access to my personal information and in fear of retaliation. The best part is she has no accountability for her actions and even had the audacity to have a smug smile and greeting of a sarcastic goodbye as we left. Do it to me, fine!! Do it in front of my son! Come on! Just basic human decency, forget about customer service. Just pathetic on all accounts.

I recently visited Roseville 24 Hour Fitness gym with high hopes of a fulfilling workout experience. However, I left feeling deeply disappointed and frustrated due to the horrible customer service and an incident involving their guest pass policy. It is with great regret that I have to share my negative review.

First and foremost, the morning manager at the gym displayed an unacceptable level of rudeness and unhelpfulness. When I approached the front desk to inquire about using a guest pass, I was informed by the manager that the pass is only valid with a local ID. This policy was never communicated to me during the guest pass acquisition process, and I was shocked by the manager's dismissive attitude when I asked for clarification. Their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to assist left a sour taste in my mouth from the very beginning.

We just moved to Roseville and do not have a Local ID.

I hope this Local ID policy is clearly communicated to others in the future so they do not waste time coming here.

I’m new to this area and took an online pass for the gym . When I reach there the front desk guy David was there . He was very rude and did not allow me to go in even the manager called me the day before . He was explaining rudely and was no manners to stand even on front . He was the very worse customer service man in my gym experience. Customer service should be more polite and manner full in my opinion. Management should focus on that . Rudeness is not acceptable. I've been a member of 24 Hour since the mid 2000's and been to clubs in 5-6 different states and close to a dozen Metros. This isn't a Super Sport club so I do have to give them some leeway. But for this being in Roseville near Rocklin which is suppose to be the nicer Suburbs of Sacramento this club is kind of dirty and much of it dated. You can see certain parts of the club were probably updated in the early 2010s but the locker room looks like its from the late 1990s and is super cramped and gross. The Pool/Sauna/Steam Room area also isn't the best. This is probably the worst 24 Hour I've been to that is suppose to be in a nicer area.

Came back to this gym after a year and it’s not the same gym I loved before. Machines are covered in dust. Weights are constantly all over the place. Cable equipment is falling apart. Machines are down and not repaired. Been back for a month and the smith machine, leg curl machine hasn’t even been touched. Weights are falling apart. The bathroom is filthy. The pool area doesn’t have a spot to fill water bottles. Came back and leaving even faster. Employees don’t even acknowledge people. I tried to talk to an employee while he was ringing me up for a drink and he had both AirPods in and didn’t respond once.

Large amount of workout machines, 4 squat racks (2 Olympic), lots of bench/incline/decline setups, plenty of dumbbells. There's a basketball court at the far end and a pool/sauna/steam room/showers available in the locker room. Peak hours definitely at around 5, most empty on weekends in the morning or early afternoon.
As far as 24 Hour Fitness clubs go, this one is not the newest or shiniest I've seen, but it's one of the more well kept ones from the 2000s era, and the community is courteous and friendly.

I Have only been with 24 hour fitness for less then 30 days and i already canceled my membership. Hands down the dirtiest gym i have ever been to. The locker rooms are out dated and dirty.
