I recently re-signed up for my membership at 24 Hour Fitness over the phone, and I have to give major credit to their General Manager, Lyndsey Mondo. Even without being there in person, she made the entire process quick, smooth, and surprisingly enjoyable.

What I appreciated most was how upfront and transparent she was about all the costs and fees. No hidden charges, no pressure. Just honest, clear information. She walked me through everything I needed to know and made sure I understood exactly what I was signing up for this time around.

Lyndsey was friendly, patient, and genuinely cared about making the resign up process easy for me. Customer service like that is rare these days, especially over the phone.

If you’re thinking about joining or coming back like I did, definitely reach out to Lyndsey. She made the whole experience stress free, and she’s the reason I felt confident resigning up for my membership. Highly recommend!

Club Manager needs to be fired. This is the most DISGUSTING dirty gym I've ever seen!!! I've been a member since 1993 with the company. This gym must not have ANYONE cleaning the equipment or the bathroom. If I was in charge, I would clean it myself before I let people see my business like that. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The jacuzzi has black mold growing all inside the tiles and concrete. Even if you want to clean a machine, they don't even have squirt bottles with cleaning solution. 🤬😠😡

Be aware: They rent out the swimming pool to someone else SIX days a week, all during peak hours. Sometimes all 7 days, without notice. If you want to use the pool here, it's a real problem. I thought you paid to join a gym so YOU could use the pool, not so they could rent it to other people.

Do not let the mix of 5-star reviews fool you; this gym’s facilities are abysmal. The majority of 5-star reviews seem to be related to customer service at the desk. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but at the end of the day the only reason I am coming here is for the facilities, which are not good.

In terms of the gym itself, I hope you’ve had your tetanus vaccine, because equipment is rusted out, floors are filthy, and weights are never re-racked. On the occasion someone does feel like re-racking a weight, they are often placed incorrectly.

Bathrooms are in despicable condition, covered in grime, hair, and a sewage scent hangs in the air.

This gym has great potential, but the members deserve better. I am urging the ownership group to take steps to revitalize this gym by improving cleanliness, equipment quality, and overall order within this gym.

Terrible experience today at the Rancho Peñasquitos 24 hour fitness. I’ve been a member here for over six years and although I’ve had my qualms about parking and cleanliness over the years, the customer service has always been phenomenal. It makes my visit worth it. Today at around 10:45 AM I arrived to work out with my husband who usually checks in as my buddy. Five minutes into our separate workouts I got an emergency call from a family member and had to rush off due to medical emergency. As my husband was leaving the facility, he was tapped on the shoulder by one of the employees letting him know that our account had been flagged since the registered member had left before him. Well, I understand safety precautions are necessary Him and I have been visiting this location for over the past four years and never had any issues like this in the past. It would at least make sense for the employees to be courteous and check in to see what was going on before assuming the worst. . It is sad to say I won’t be renewing my yearly membership this upcoming January.

This gym has been around for a long time and you can tell by the caked on layer of dust and grime on the equipment. The pool area and tile floor has mildew and scum. All of the windows have build up and look like they have never been cleaned professionally. It seems like this franchise owner is just collecting the money because it’s the only gym currently in PQ and not maintaining it properly. Let’s see what happens when Planet Fitness opens up.

The Jacuzzi has not been working for very long time. The pool ‘ water is cold, and there are only four lines, two wider lines can fit two persons, two narrow lines each fits one person. So only six people can swim at the same time! The shower curtain is too narrow and the other showers with almost transparent plastic doors. No privacy!

Pros: lots of equipment, large fitness class capacity, 4 lane pool, steam room, jacuzzi, outdoor area, nice shopping mall location. Good price to benefit ratio. The class room floors are well maintained and staff mop off sweat immediately during and after classes. Class teachers are very good.

Needs improvement: cleanliness esp in changing area, shower, bathrooms. Need frequent Deep cleaning of weight room & bathroom floors, bathroom sinks & grout lines due to high use facility. The daily general cleaning needs a regular periodic boost of deep cleaning which is amiss. The place looked fresher & cleaner 20-25 years ago. As a place ages, it needs more frequent DEEP cleaning than when it was newer to offset wear and tear to grout, weight room floor mats etc

The pool is very heavily chlorinated.

Cybex seated leg lift has torn upholstery. Cybex prone leg curl jiggles at the feet hold rest. Note: 95% of machines are fine and all functional.

The receptionist SAVANNA at 24 Hour Fitness Carmel Mountain is absolutely the worst. She was shockingly rude, completely disrespectful, and acted with zero maturity. Me and my 5 friends and I all have active memberships, yet she treated us like we didn’t belong there and clearly had no clue about the gym’s own rules. Instead of helping, she talked down to us with an attitude that was insulting and unprofessional. It’s unbelievable that someone like this is even allowed to represent 24 Hour Fitness. She was rude, disrespectful, and acted without the slightest professionalism. I had active membership , yet she treated me as if I didn’t belong and had no idea about the gym’s own rules. Filthy men’s changing room. Mold on the shower walls, disgusting shower heads, and a broken soap dispenser. Clumps of long hair all over the floor.

I visited about a year ago and was shocked to see that someone had even pooped inside the shower area. I came back today after a long time, and nothing has improved — the hygiene conditions are still the same.

It is so much worse in the bathroom.
The floors will make you gag, they are disgusting, dirt, trash, old soap wrappers and clumps of hair in piles on the floor in the locker area, pee stained toilets. It’s bad.

No idea what happened, but this once spectacular gym has gone to the trash.

8/3/25 the hot water is still out. The sauna is still a concerning level of unsanitary. Every grown man is wearing his regular shoes in there?? They allow street shoes in what’s supposed to be a healthy cleansing space. No cleaning schedule. Female bathroom has 3 stalls - 1 has been permanently coned off? This place is trash honestly. Outdated equipment, super dirty. Weights are always in the wrong places. Treadmills covered in dust and grime. Trash in the cup holders on the treads stays for weeks at a time. Came last week at 6am (hours say open at 5am) and no one had opened the gym yet. For the price go somewhere else

I've been going to this 24 hr for the past 2+ years and have enjoyed it for the most part (could be cleaner but not horrible)

For the past 18 months, the outdoor lights for the basketball courts have been going out from 3 working to 2 working to now where there is just one light still working. Several of my friends have hurt themselves while we play, and I think it's at minimum partially because of how dang dark it is now. I asked about the lights over 12 months ago and was told they are working on it.. but in fact, they haven't done anything. I asked the manager last week about it, and he gave the same fake reply of "we're working on it." Then he blamed corporate and said he couldn't do anything about it... will add photos later. (Also emailed 24 hr, and they never got back to me!)

All in all, most of the gym equipment works or gets fixed rather quickly, but many of us are frustrated with the lack of responsiveness from staff and management. Would love to make it a 5 star review if the management can get things straightened out here.

I come to this gym primarily for the Zumba classes, and they are absolutely fantastic! The instructor Kyoko has a wonderful ability to engage everyone—her energy and her caring personality are truly contagious, and she plays a fun mix of songs including K-pop, Latin hits, and more. Her classes are always lively and exciting. She even organizes potlucks occasionally, which is a great way to socialize and connect with fellow Zumba friends.

Lisa is another amazing instructor. She brings a global vibe to her sessions by incorporating songs from around the world, making her classes incredibly dynamic and energizing!

Overall, I really enjoy most aspects of this gym. However, the showers and bathrooms could use some upgrades to better match the quality of the classes...!

Zumba with Kyoko is the great class. Putting 5 star on it. If you have stiffness on your shoulder, go there. You will feel great after class.

24Hour Fitness in Rancho Penasquitos is a great place to be with regards to attending Zumba classes. Liza Arnet and Kyoko are both amazing and great Zumba instructors! Love their classes which are always full of fun and energy! Never a dull moment in their classes which l truly enjoy! Unfortunately the women’s bathroom needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly. It’s always filthy. I try not to use it if possible because of its unpleasant condition. The toilet, the shower room, especially the floors need a good amount of cleaning and scrubbing . The classes and instructors are great but the restroom needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly! 5 stars for the classes but 3 stars with regards to the condition of the restroom!

This gym is awful. There is another 24 nearby with a smaller pool however this one is being used for a partnership with British Swim School. The pool is therefore filled with kids, sometimes up to 3/4 lanes at peak hours, rendering the pool unuseable by paying customers. The management and ownership of 24 Hour fitness is not utilizing the gym space with efficiency. The gym with the larger, indoor pool closes at 9 pm (ironic, for a gym with 24 hour in its name) and the gym with the smaller, outdoor pool is open 24 hours. Both gyms need to be open 24 hours to live up to its name, or perhaps move British Swim School hours to non-peak times!

The first responsibility of 24 Hour Fitness should be to its paying customers and not to a company that drives away customers.

Guys in this 24 hours location are very helpful. I came here 2 years ago at 240lb and diabetes. Lorenzo set me up with the membership and regiment. 2 years down the road I am at 165lb and no health issues. Really appreciate it!

Love the friendly atmosphere. Seems like the equipment could be updated, but plenty of options and always working.
Staff is great: Marisa is a wonderful trainer, always tailoring exercises to my needs.

I love attending the Zumba classes with Kyoko at this gym!! She has so much energy and her classes make you sweat. She is just an overall fun person and great instructor!! She is so positive and wants everyone to enjoy themselves. I love how she changes up her choreography every few months. Her songs are mix of Kpop, Latin, and pop songs! She is so easy to follow, definitely recommend taking this class if you like to dance and have fun.

24h fitness Rancho Penosquitos , it’s a really great place to work out at. The indoor facility as well as the outdoor facility. The group classes are outstanding and I’ve been coming here for years. this all said, however, it is due for a facelift and some equipment replacement.

When I signed up, I was taken care of Lorenzo, the GM of the 24 Hours located in Rancho Penasquitos. . He is an amazing person who took the time and effort to listen to me and help me in the best way possible. Lorenzo is always there, attentive and ready to assist me with anything I need. He goes above and beyond to help a customer.
I am very happy that I am now a member of 24 Hours Fitness because I go there five times a week and I really enjoy my time there.
