I like the workout equipment, it's spacious, but it's always pretty crowded whenever I go. The bathrooms, locker and changing area is the one reason I'm going to try out another gym. It's disgusting, and has gotten dirtier since I started going. I went yesterday, and the smell of funk, urine hit me like a ton of bricks soon as I walked in the bathroom. They renovated the gym area, but they neglected every other part of this place. And it's a 50/50 chance it won't be any paper towels in the dispenser when you want to wipe down the equipment.

Its gross. Very clearly not maintained at normal intervals. Men's locker room is full of ants, human hair, razor heads, empty water bottles, and discarded socks. I usually go to the PQ or Linda Vista locations which are nothing like this. Attached was the sight I saw when I entered the ADA stall, not including the dripping handle. Oh, and I didn't think I needed to check and ensure the ADA shower stall was working - when I got to the showers I found that the ambulatory "regular" shower head was working but the accessible shower head was not turning on when the mode was switched. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location of 24. They're very obviously neglecting the facility and eventually someone's going to get sick or injured and they'll close like Balboa did. Disappointing and disgusting.

I’d give 0 starts if possible for this specific location given the customer service by the “so called manager”, and the way that he operates! I signed up last year before my schedule became hectic and wasn’t able to go ALL YEAR due to working 50 hours weekly, which is fine; I can take the L. But then they auto renewed my member ship without notice in October, charging my account over $200 unexpectedly. I refuted the charges with my bank, but in order to be refunded for the unauthorized charge they requested that I provide a print out of my activity visits from the gym. I showed up in person to request a print out of my activity, to which I
politely asked the manager working the front desk, while explaining in length that I needed to show my bank that I didn’t authorize this charge and that I have not been in attendance since the original sign up 1 year ago. Not only did he REFUSE to print out any activity on my account to show that I have not been in attendance, but also refused to provide his name, claiming he is the owner and does not have to provide that information. The manager was extremely difficult, rude, and insulting. When I asked for corporates contact or at least a higher up he refused to provide any information. When I pushed back, he threatened to call the police on me claiming harassment and called me a deranged woman. The manager is a fraud and I don’t recommend ever attending this location unless you don’t mind being disrespected and defrauded. This is not how one operates a professional business and maintains clientele that respect and trust an establishment with a large name like 24 hour fitness. I suggest corporate looks into this location due to many others complaining of similar issues with auto renewal and fraud. In this economy $200 is a lot of money to be out of unexpectedly. Shame on you!

My third visit. A renovation was just completed. They missed a very important area. The Men's Locker room area and shower area. The restroom area is filthy. Toilet paper scattered about. Worse yet. After you use the bathroom. There is NO SOAP. Isn't there a Health Code about this. Members walking out and then using equipment :( Along with. How do the employees wash their hands too.
Then to top it off; NO SOAP in the showers. And Graffiti on the walls in several of the shower stalls this visit. Apperantly this was not part of the renovation. It's all up front.
Definitely these conditions need to be addressed. In the interest of its members and staff. I wonder what potential new members are thinking. As they are being shown around this club.

Signed up today for the pool and I was hoping for a good swim until I saw the bathroom. These reviews do not lie the bathroom is the very breeding grounds for all sorts of viruses and bacteria. There are towels and toilet paper laying around stalls have literal trash cans overflowing with toilet paper. It was horror. For as much as people pay for these memberships I was hoping the issues people brought up in these reviews would be addressed as I have seen just how active the owner is on here but boy was I wrong. Going to try another 24 hour location before I go back to planet fitness. Man I’m happy I still have time to go back. Hoping for the best.

Bathrooms smell horrible lol worse than a truck stop. The bottles to spray and clean down the equipment are all broken. The cardio equipment is outdated, one of the treadmills had cables coming out of it. The stair masters have a fan to "cool you down"... Air smells like mold. I'm glad I didn't sign up. Company makes billions and they charge 40 but can't upgrade.

Most disgusting 24 I've ever been to. I am LITERALLY one mile from this gym in Rolando and I drive to rancho San diego to the 24 on avocado because of the lack of cleaning at college grove. There was a huge roach on the men's locker room floor for 3 days and on the 3rd was covered in ants. That means ants from outside found this roach before employees. That is pathetic. I highly recommend using a different 24.

Good: it is open 24 hr, it is a bigger gym, it is very convenient for me.

Bad: terrible gym edict by members and no push for it. Not all equipment works, bathroom (men) always really gross, free weights are all over the gym and it is usually a hunt to find (no indication that staff ever try to return weights). Again, some of the worst gym edict I have experienced: trash left all over, weights bot returned or cleaned, members using many machines/weights/equipment ar same time, dirty, using phone/filming/pictures.

I only go here due to convenience of location and low price.

2nd time coming here. Decided to write a review. After the 7 employees behind the counter finished their conversation and laughter, they finally acknowledged me to answer some questions I had.

Seats on the adjustable incline benches are hanging on by a single bolt. Every single paper towel dispenser I went to use was empty. Majority of the workout equipment in the spin cycle area is locked up. First time I’ve seen that. All of the dumbbells are not organized and randomly placed everywhere.

There are random weights scattered throughout the gym. Paper towel trash everywhere. But don’t worry the high schoolers behind the counter are still laughing and having a good time. Work ethic gets you far in life.

Bottom line, the only thing “renovated” here is the paint on the walls, some equipment and maybe the lights. Majority of the equipment is not maintained. Also recommend wearing a bullet proof vest when working out, you’ll know why when you come to workout here. Lock your vehicle too.

I didn’t visit the locker rooms but from other recent reviews, they are pretty bad too.

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had at this location. My account was set up incorrectly with the wrong card, and instead of fixing their mistake, staff billed a family member’s account without authorization. When the billing failed, they simply canceled my membership without explanation.

When I called to ask what happened, the staff were completely unprofessional. They answered the phone with just “hello” (not even identifying the business). A manager named Adam was extremely rude, repeatedly hanging up on me mid-conversation. When I called back, he would pick up and immediately hang up again. Another staff member admitted he didn’t even know who the general manager was.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Paying members deserve professionalism, respect, and basic accountability—none of which I received here.

The new remodel is nice! Makes it look more spacious. Brand new equipment and machines. A lot of free weights, but there's no numbers on the racks. So people just put them wherever they want. I don't think it would've mattered anyways cause people never put anything back in the correct spot. Also I like that there's no TVs in the weight area, only in the cardio section. Also nice that there's less cardio machines.
Let's see how long it'll last being clean or well maintained.

In all my years and experience of 24 hour fitness, I have never come across one whose bathrooms are in worse standings than this one. There are brown stains on the wall and mold, literal mold on the metal frame and on the wall itself.

I was mortified when I went in here in attempt to take a shower. I had to turn back around leave and go to another location in order to gear up for work.

The workout area itself is in good shape and the equipments are fairly new.

Our experience with the staff at the College Grove 24 Hour Fitness has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. My girlfriend canceled her personal training sessions in person on May 21st, yet she was still charged for that month and again the following month. When we visited the gym to resolve the issue, the staff seemed far more focused on their Grand Re-Opening event than addressing our concerns.

We were assured that a confirmation email would be sent to verify the cancellation and that a refund would be processed for the two months that were wrongly charged. That email never arrived, and the charges were never refunded.

Attempts to follow up have been met with indifference. Staff at the location simply told us to “call back another time” without offering any meaningful help. We also reached out to Cal, the same employee who failed to cancel the service in the first place, using the number he gave us at sign-up. He has since told us not to contact him on that number, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

I strongly advise against signing up for any additional services with this gym. They make it unnecessarily difficult to cancel and seem more interested in continuing to charge your account than in providing real support.

I been coming to this gym for about 3 years. The staff’s performance and behavior has been nothing but exemplary for the rest of the franchise/ company. Please take pride in College location because out of the many 24 Hour Gyms I’ve been to, this location has definitely been the most engaging and welcoming. The new manager is doing an amazing job, and has been implementing great solutions for the company and I can tell by watching and listening to my good friend Jalen. The pros outweigh the cons by a tenfold, and I definitely recommend new comers to join and experience what made me feel welcome here at this gym. This Gym Has Seriously Gone Downhill – Avoid It!

I’ve been a member of this 24-hour gym for a while, and the decline is shocking. Despite numerous complaints, management refuses to address basic issues, making it the worst 24-hour gym I’ve encountered.

Here’s what’s wrong:

Filthy conditions: The gym is consistently dirty—floors, bathrooms, and workout areas are disgusting.

Missing supplies: No paper towels, disinfectant, or basic hygiene items.

Broken/missing equipment: Mats, weights, and other essentials have been gone for almost a year with no replacements.

Neglected class area: The workout room is never cleaned—trash everywhere, floors sticky, zero maintenance.

It’s baffling why management ignores these major problems. Quite sad!

Emmanuel was so kind today, LITERALLY the NICEST person I've met working here. I've been coming here since I was a kid in the child care and I swear no one else has had this good of customer service in forever. I come into the gym hoping he's at the front desk everyday!
