I went back after a 2 months absence; long enough to notice a major change. Because I went at 2 pm, it wasn’t crowded. More importantly, there are new lights installed making the entire gym interior significantly brighter. I’ve also noticed a better arrangement of equipment in the open area leading to the pool.
Nice job 24 HoursFitness.

Do you enjoy super crowded, smelly, and dungeon ambience places? Then this place is for you.
But not for me. I avoid this 24 hours fitness but for really last-minute workouts that lasts no more than 1 set of pull-up’s.
The redeeming quality is availability of inside parking. Yes, the parking garage is also smelly and dirty.

The staff here are absolutely horrible. They’re no help at all, and their attitudes are downright disrespectful. There are three people standing at the front, yet it feels like nobody is actually working. And that big guy, Francisco if that’s even his real name spent the entire time glued to his phone, completely ignoring every customer. No respect, no effort, nothing. I want to share my experience after my friend invited me as a member of this gym and the front desk person didn’t let me in.

The front desk person refused one time free pass, and literally kicked us out.

I was ready to pay but he refused to take a cash payment or Apple Pay.

It’s kind of weird for me how they run the business. We were totally cooperative but they were rude, and unreasonable, highly NOT recommending this place.

Been coming to this gym for years. It’s got about everything you need from a gym: weights, cardio, spin room, dance studio, basketball court, pool, sauna. You name it they got it!

I think my favorite part of the gym is the community feeling. From the kind staff who greet you at the door (shoutout to Jamie!), to the multi-generational and multicultural patrons, this gym feels like a true community center.

I don’t have high expectations for most 24 hour fitness, however, this gym is filthy and nasty! All of the machines are old and rusted. I had to go to three different elliptical machines before I could find one that worked! There was no signs posted on the broken machines, which could be dangerous. Call me crazy but 24 hour fitness gyms are usually full, which means that they are making enough money to prioritize cleanliness and safety for their customers. Ridiculously nasty!

24 Hr Fitness is a great deal of a gym, for individual location membership that I have at $15 per month, the only gym that can compete is Planet Fitness butnthey lack weights and flexibilities so if youre a weights person, come to 24 Hr Fitness. Also amenities like swimming pool for the price is great. Make sure to being a towel if needed.

I’ve been going to 24 Hour Fitness for a while, and overall it’s a solid gym with everything you need for a good workout. The equipment selection is great — plenty of machines, free weights, and functional training areas. Most locations have a decent amount of space, and I like that many are open late (some even 24 hours, depending on the area).

The staff are usually friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. Classes like Zumba, HIIT, and cycling are a nice bonus if you like group workouts. The locker rooms are okay — not luxury-level but clean enough if you go during off-peak hours.

A few downsides: during rush hours it can get packed, and sometimes equipment is out of order for longer than expected. Membership prices have gone up over time, and not every location is kept equally clean or updated.

Still, 24 Hour Fitness is reliable for people who just want a convenient, well-equipped place to train. Whether you’re lifting, doing cardio, or joining a class, it gets the job done.

Staff has been great from the cleaning crew to the desk workers, but this site is straight up gross by any building standards let alone a gym that charges a wild amount. There is not a duplicate of any machine, and no variations of machines.

The dumbbell area a joke , one small 6x6 space for working out for a whole dumbbell rack? The wall of them only has 6 benches. If you count working improperly machines rather than straight up broken, half of them have issues.

This is a terrible 24 hour fitness and considering it’s not in a particularly bad area with high foot traffic there’s no reason for the trash facilities

Edit: the gym facilities are worse, leaks everywhere, they installed heavy bags and paywalled them behind personal training sessions. No other location does this. This location needs a negative star option. Desk people are nice even on overnight shift, so the staff is still great. Management is an absolute joke

Gym is subpar in my opinion for the following reasons: machines are old and weights are inaccurate; little parking even during weekdays / work hours; and as a brand, name is inaccurage—gym not open 24 hours per day. Lastly, cancellation policy is unnecessarily involved: members can create a membership online and from home, but must go in person to cancel so it’s much easier to get membership than to cancel membership.

The weight area was pretty decent, but the pool and lockers were not good. I showed up on a Saturday morning and there was water all over the floor. Lots of dirt and grime. When I went to swim the pool was completely cloudy and staff was sprinkling chlorine in it as people were swimming which I’m pretty sure is not safe. The pool was crowded and nobody was circle swimming. The hot tub wasn’t working and was half full. I would lift weights here in a pinch but stay away from the pool!

I recently joined 24 hour fitness in hopes to find an uplifting and welcoming workout community, and that’s exactly what I found here!! I go to the 24 hour fitness on Ocean st in San Francisco where Francisco kindly helped me set up my new membership and it was such a smooth process. The staff are friendly, but the entire gym is long long long due for equipment replacements and upgrades. 95% of weight plates look like they’ve had bites taken out of them, machine seating is old, worn through. Machines are just old in general. Some squat rack safeties are also broken. The flooring is also worn out throughout the gym. The place *barely* gets the job done with its outdated, poorly curated and maintained weights and machines. PLEASE 24 MANAGEMENT PLEASE MAKE CHANGES!

Right by my house and open 24/7 on weekdays, 24 fitness on Ocean ave is a great gym for daily usage. What really makes this 24 fitness special is the friendly and helpful staff. A big shoutout to Edwin, Joey, and Jamie, in particular.

One area of improvement: Half the basketball gym has been under construction for who knows how many years.. that should really be taken care of.

i hate to said this i never complaint this gym need better management the manager mark did a bad job today September 23, 2025, i am a customer with 24 hour fitness for 30 year off and on i allway pay my gym dues some how i for got this month i ask him to let us work out tonight my self and dauther we walk 2 miles their and would not even look at his pc. he say he run this gym tight and dont let know one in just wow i again i never complaint about the brocken equipment, broken showers broken doors toilet smells horrible times the steam room and dry room smells horrible but again never complain. Saff are super friendly, but I have a couple of concerns.
1: The equipment (eleptical, treadmill, etc.) is in bad condition, with most buttons not working properly. It seems like the equipment isn't regularly inspected.
2: The gym floor is in bad condition; despite being here for a few months, I've only seen an orange cone placed over the damaged spot, with no real repairs undertaken.
3. Cleanliness is a concern - it doesn't seem sanitary, and the staff could do a better job with cleaning.

I was walking by yesterday and decided to walk in just to check out the space. I was immediately greet Azalea. I told her I was interested in possibly becoming a member. She immediately dropped whatever she was doing at the time and walked me around the facility asking me questions on how often I’d want to come.
