I have been with 24 hour fitness for about 3 months now. Although not new to cardio fitness or strength training, I was away from strength for more than 2 years thanks to back to back frozen shoulders.
Needless to say, I was super cautious about restarting it again and thanks to signing up for coaching with Aiden Donahue, I am back where I feel so much alive.

Aiden is a great listener, patient, very thorough, diligent and extremely encouraging to get us to believe we got this!! His ability to diagnose problem areas and show alternate ways of achieving the same output was on point. I recommend him highly to anyone starting out their strength training journey and especially to those who are coming back from an injury or setback.

Remodel of workout area is nice. Men's locker room looks like a 3rd world country bathroom.
Lockers broken. Benches broken. Tile disgusting stained and just plain filthy.
Showers were cold and no water pressure. Major calcium build up on tile and glass.

They should have spent $ on the locker room and skipped the "recovery room" which no one will use.

24 HR Fitness Hillsdale ended Spin Classes during Covid. The spin classes at 24 Hr Santa Theresa Fitness were also canceled. There are Spin classes at 24 Hr Willow Glen but with limited cycles available. Many have requested the 24 Hr management to add classes back with the new year 2023 but the request have fallen to deaf ears. Can anyone assist to get 24 Hr management attention regarding this issue ?

2 Stars for the pool, showers and bathrooms. I’ve been A member often on since the 90s and while the club it’s offerings and staff are wonderful, and the refresh of the fitness machines is appreciated. The pool and bathrooms need work And have needed it for decades. The hot tub only has 1/2 of the jets working and it’s been several weeks like this. I know Jay has been pursuing solutions. The concrete around the pool and hot tubs needs to be resurfaced with a safety material or something added to it to reduce slippage. Almost every day I see someone slip, including myself! Seriously it is a hazard and a risk to everyone, including the owners of the club.

Please, please add more aqua exercise classes on the calendar at Hillsdale or at other Santa Clara County clubs with pools, please. Thanks for reading this. Please thank Jennifer and J, and Fernando and others who are helping to keep this club the positive place that it is.

The gym is remodeled and have a good look at the first place. The lock room is clean and quiet. Only thing that is not acceptable is the hot tub only has one side spread bubble the other side is totally peaceful. That made people so disappointed because almost everyone wants to enjoy the spreading water power, yet here only half of them can get that. Don’t know why the other side can’t open the water spread, if they are broken, it should be repaired!

I want to respond to the owners for their action reacting my previous post. Today I went to the hot tub as usual,and was very surprised to see the hot tub is now fully function! All the spreaders are working very hard! The tub like a boiling happy pot! 😆🤣😇Everybody showed their happiness to see this change with the smile on their face! Thank you! I came in and the Jai was so helpful and sweet and hooked it up. Just switched over from UFC. The remodel is very nice and the environment is very welcoming. Bathrooms need an upgrade but the equipment is up to date and nothing broken or out of use!

Great job on the remodel but the bathrooms badly need an upgrade. I’ve been a 24hr memember way over 30 years . I hear people consistently complain about them. More spin cycle classes are needed. There used to be 3 classes a day & now 1 on Mondays & Weds morning. People are going elsewhere who used to ride class with me. Hillsdale is a prime location to entice more members.

The Hillsdale Branch has always had great trainers and a wide variety of exercise options but this year’s renovation has really made it a spiffy first class gym. Except for the restrooms/locker rooms/showers, which seem to have been left in the 1960s.

This is the best 24 hrs in the San Jose area hands down. I have been to 3 in the surrounding area and none are as clean, well kept or have the amount of WORKING equipment as this one here. The staff are friendly! The bathrooms need attention but it’s only because they don’t have the adequate amount of staff to everywhere at one time so if you’re looking for work APPLY APPLY APPLY ! Jae is the manager and she has the perfect CAN DO, WILL DO ATTITUDE. Half the equipment here is broken or doesn’t work properly. I was also surprised to find there’s no working source of drinking water. When I asked the staff member at the counter if there was a water fountain, he pointed me to one that was out of order. For a gym, this seems unacceptable, especially since I thought providing access to potable water might actually be required by law in California. Can anyone confirm if that’s the case?

This gym has been going downhill ever since 24 Hour Fitness reopened following the pandemic.

Just the fact that most of the company's gyms aren't even open 24 hours a day anymore is a clear sign that they are not living up to their reputation.

Twice in 2022, the manager who was supposed to open the gym failed to show up. Not only did this put me and many others behind on our workout schedule, but the manager, whoever he or she was at the time, faced no repercussions for such unprofessional behavior!

The recent "remodeling" was the last straw for me. After the gym closed for one month and I had to check in at other nearby locations until it reopened, I found all they did was replace the carpets, give the walls a new paint job, and spread the equipment out.

And speaking of which, in order to make room for spreading all of the equipment in the gym out, they removed a certain type of cardio equipment I liked using and left only two units of a similar model that was a complete downgrade, and as a result of there only being two, they're often occupied by other gym members constantly, and more often than not, one of them goes out of order, leaving only one available.

On top of that, this was a perfect opportunity for them to replace all of the cardio equipment with new and improved models, but they didn't. Instead, they left us with the same crappy equipment in which many of the units are still out of order. The pool isn't any better either. Like the cardio equipment, it was exactly the same as before. The water is too warm, and members frequently violate the "2 swimmers per lane only" rule, and as a result, I have to wait a long time for my turn.

24 Hour Fitness Corporate had better read my review word for word and take it to heart, because they have now lost a long time member, and unless they start making some overdue improvements yesterday, starting with firing the incompetent cheapskates behind this so-called "remodeling" job, they will continue to lose more members and this gym will close permanently.

The 24 hour app is full of glitches for an in-demand class at Hillsdale. The staff is bombarded by complaints and concerns and while frustrating on both sides, the desk folks are pros. We especially admire Fernando lately for his ability to handle the many, many anxious complaints. Daily.
He’s a star employee for this company that needs to fix their app which is required for class registration

They do not clean the floors, treadmills, and restrooms well enough. You need to thoroughly mop down the sweat stained treadmills at the end of each day. The restrooms also smells terrible! I visit the gym 5-6 times a weeks and the same dried sweat, stains, and hair is still there. Wth

Usually when I write a review, it's about what I think should be corrected. But it's only fair to give credit to a person or place when there are good things about the subject. In this case the Hillsdale 24 Hour Fitness Gym.
This gym has been around for over 20 years, I think, but everything works and is clean in the men's area. Showers, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and also there is shampoo, toilet paper.
I have been to many 24 hour Fitness:

1) 101/Brokaw (24 Hour Fitness, 1610 Crane Ct, San Jose, CA 95112)
*** NO TOILET PAPER. SWIMMING POOL & JACUZZI NOT IN OPERATION. SO I DECIDED TO LEAVE RIGHT AWAY.

2) McKee
*** NO SOAP & TOILET PAPER MOST OF THE TIMES.
THE SHOWER IN THE SWIMMING AREA WAS DOWN FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS. SO PEOPLE DID RINSE/SHOWER BEFORE
ENTERING THE JACUZZI & SWIMMING POOL EVEN AFTER
COMING OUT OF SWEAT INDUCING AREAS LIKE THE JACUZZI AND STEAM ROOM. YUCKY!!!

3) Milpitas
*** 6 (SIX) out of 8 (EIGHT) SHOWER STALLS DID NOT WORK.
WEEKS LATER NOTHING CHANGES.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

4) EASTRIDGE
*** NO TOILET PAPER AND SOAP A LOT OF TIMES.

The one complaint that I have for the Hillsdale gym is for the
members there: MOST PEOPLE DO NOT RINSE/SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING THE JACUZZI & SWIMMING POOL EVEN AFTER COMING OUT OF SWEAT INDUCING AREAS LIKE THE JACUZZI AND STEAM ROOM. YUCKY!!!
Maybe many members here think they are very clean - ENTITLEMENT?

So, be fair when judging something, folks.

I really have enjoyed this 24 hr. It never feels crowded or cramped even during peak hours. It’s a cool vibe inside. I like that the weight room is down on a semi separate level. And of course I love that they have a sauna. I always finish my workouts with that.

I really like the stairmasters. I like the fact they have fans on them. That’s a huge plus for me.

Only con is the bathrooms. Just like all the 24s the bathrooms are gross. They don’t feel or look clean. I just try to be in and out if I need to use the restroom. But like I said, all the 24s I’ve experience got nasty broken down bathrooms. Just sort of take the good with the bad.

ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I have been a member here for over 30 years. I was so extremely excited for the renovation. While the main gym looks great. The bathrooms, shower & pool area are in dire need of help. During Covid all the classes were canceled and couldn't wait for them to finally hire some decent instructors or re-hire the amazing ones they had. 5 years later & was extremely excited to come in after the new renovation and do a cycling class only to be utterly disappointed with the instructor. There is only ONE instructor (Enrico) for cycling at this location who only teaches twice a week. This was the WORST cycling class I've ever had in my years of doing cycling. The instructor lacked any enthusiasm, speaks extremely quietly, gets extremely upset if you divert from anything he asks you to do which isn't much. I was trying to increase my heart rate from his very low intensity of a workout, and I was told if I wanted to return again, I will not divert from anything he is instructing us to do which I find highly unprofessional and very un motivational! Management seriously needs to consider a replacement and find better more motivating instructors if they want to keep their clientele.

This gym is going to be a hard pass for me. I'm not sure how they advertise everywhere that they just remodeled when the bathrooms and the facilities are absolutely disgusting. The mirrors have marks all over them, as if they have not been cleaned in weeks, the bathroom floors are filthy as though they have never been cleaned. The facilities definitely are not kept up as there were even fingerprints in the dust on top of machines. I'm not sure how a gym could reopen without even cleaning or redoing the bathrooms. Would like to use the group class room on Mondays After the Yoga class. But the instructor likes to enlarge this class until 9pm and sometimes even after. He should be finishing at 8:30pm. It is upsetting that nobody can correct him.

I visited over the weekend just a few weeks after they reopened and was surprised to see roaches in the studio. Aside from fresh paint and new flooring, not much else appeared to have changed. Several pieces of equipment are still broken, old, and dirty, and the bathrooms remain outdated (always out of toilet seat covers in multiple stalls). The presence of roaches, however, was a first for me.

I believe the bathrooms should be checked every hour throughout the day. There was no toilet paper available, and overall cleanliness needs to be maintained. Super disappointed in this location. My boyfriend went in to cancel my guest pass on his account. The gym representative told him that my account was never activated, so I haven’t been charged. He confirmed this! 3 months go by and I noticed charges on my account from 24, so he called the location. The sales representative said that he can only refund one month and not the other months and there is nothing he can do even though it’s their mistake! This is a scam and illegal!

I registered for a 3-day guest pass on the official 24 Hour Fitness website, followed all the steps, and brought my ID. But when I got to the gym, the front desk told me “we don’t hand out guest passes because we’re a new gym.” This restriction isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website. Terrible, terrible gym and club. Absolutely horrendous staff, and while the equipment is tolerable, the selections are seemingly barebones for no reason at all (since the renovations in June). e.g. no leg curl machine (which was there previously!!).

I just went to the gym to try to get a workout in after a long day, and unfortunately I just could not find the lock for my bike. They basically insulted me for not having a lock and said I couldn't give the bike to them and leave it to the side for an hour. While I respect that gyms have policies, they were so rude and unfriendly. 1 star is generous.

Overall I like the updated gym except it’s no longer possible for a modest height person to dead-hang. All the bars are too high (I don’t jump 13”), and the training staff won’t let me in the training room for 30 seconds to hang without paying a fee.

Also ceiling fans were removed and it’s way too hot.

However the new machines are great!

Very happy with Hillsdale 24 Hr fitness. Josh is always a smiling face to greet us at the front desk, he never hesitates to call us by name, and even participated in a Zumba class to find out why Valy is so popular (Michele Chong is great too)!! Josh made a point of learning all of our names even away from the computer. Keep up the special customer service 24 Hr.

Not once have I experienced great customer service as much as I received with Junior. He took his time explaining to me about the gym memberships, the amenities the gym has to enhance my fitness journey here at this location. I appreciate his time he took to make sure I have all the information needed. He definitely has a positive attitude, definitely motivates you to want to workout and enjoy your time here. This is the best 24 in the San Jose Willow Glen area. The staff are courteous, friendly, and helpful. Their trainers are wonderful, and management fantastic. The staff work hard to keep their machines working, the equipment clean and weights racked. I’ve tried multiple gyms in the area and keep coming back to Hillsdale 24! I’m excited about the upcoming refresh to the gym!!!
