Been a member at this Aborn location since 2008 and never want to go anywhere else. Located in shopping center with plenty of parking. Has pool, sauna etc. Machines are placed with plenty of space between each of them. Friendly staff - Dillan, Trainer Marcus, Samuel, Matteo, & especially Catherine & I am sure I leave out some names.

It’s very frustrating to see how people make stuff up instead of actually inquiring about what’s going on at the gym. I spoke to the manager directly who has done a lot in only 2 months time… from pressure washing the men’s bathroom, increasing the cleanliness standards, holding members accountable for stealing pins, breaking amenities, and trashing the place. There is 6 employees and 6000 members it’s on us to respect this place. The pictures posted of the white equipment is because they are replacing it and they have to take it apart and require permits to change things around, the seat cushions are slowly being replaced with new padding and I see their tech here everyday working on the machines, and the only time they cone off the pool is to check the chemicals to ensure our safety …. I think the members that don’t want to clean up after themselves and trash the gym
Need to be held more accountable … I see men tear up the bathrooms and woman who put their equipment out and never put it back … the staff is doing their best let’s do our part and help

Update Sep 2025: Gym is nearly unusable. Can’t borrow a machine pin because the manager put them all in their office and they aren’t coming I today :(.
All machine pins have been missing for a year and a half. The manager doesn’t seem interested in fixing this. Cleaning/maintenance services seem to have fallen off.
Old review: The equipment is decent and well maintained, and since the upgrade to a Sport location things have improved a little. However nothing is really clean and people are constantly sitting on machines staring at their phones instead of using the machines. Combined with the language barriers it can be a challenge to get a full workout.

DO NOT RECOMMEND :)This gym is in poor condition and poorly managed. the presence of new manager is still a lack of maintenance and proper oversight. manager seems to be experiencing a mid-life crisis and often ignores requests for assistance. Many of the five-star reviews for this facility appear to have been hyped. likely not genuine. This gym is unsuitable for anyone and should be closed down .
The sauna has a water leak and is never cleaned!while the manager appears more concerned about shoes being worn inside than addressing more important issues. There are broken machines and unclean areas ,treadmills and bathrooms are in unacceptable condition.an empty sanitation stations !but are in a small group talking ?
There were clearly no pins in the machines, and the manager attempted to intimidate 24 hour members by saying, "If you steal the pins, you're going to jail!" This is Northern California! Lady .plus such statements are not appropriate and will not help resolve the issue.but wait There is more...the janitorial staff seems to lack proper training! literally mixing chemicals an caused toxic gas .you need to focus more on staff performance rather than fitting in. Demanding janitors to overdue their duties to accommodate your needs leads to mistakes.To improve the facility, cleaning is necessary, but upgrades or replacements should also be considered:)

The workout pins have been missing for over a year now. This is a nice facility and is going to go out of business if this isn't fixed. Someone tell the owner that I will personally get new workout pins for this gym and ALL of their machines if I can be in a managerial role. This has been a serious issue for this facility; it's unimaginable that they are willing to let an issue like this go for so long. 3/4 of the gym is unusable because of this issue. I'm not saying it's their fault; but if you guys want to fix this once and for all, let me know, otherwise you can continue on like this and the Eastridge location will continue to dominate. Thank you!

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred at your facility on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM involving my mother, Lisa Tran, and a front desk staff member named Leslie.
My mother is a senior with a healthcare membership. I had submitted her confirmation code to Hoang in April 2025. Recently, she has been unable to check in with her fingerprint, and Hoang had been manually checking her in. Today, Leslie informed us that my mother’s membership had stopped in May, which is incorrect. I showed her the confirmation code again to reinstate the membership.
Unfortunately, Leslie was not focused on assisting us. While we waited, she prioritized helping other members who arrived after us, instead of handling my mother’s issue promptly. This was frustrating, especially given the time-sensitive nature of our class. I kindly suggested that we could sort out the membership issue after class and asked for a one-time courtesy so we wouldn’t miss it, but she refused.
Due to my mother’s Alzheimer’s, I cannot leave her unattended. I explained that I would bring her upstairs to sit quietly on the bench without joining the class. Despite this, Leslie ran after us, threatened to call the police, and interrupted the class, pointing us out in front of the instructor and other members. We were humiliated, accused of trespassing, and publicly embarrassed—despite the fact that I had already provided Lisa’s confirmation code to reinstate her membership.
We attend the gym to improve our physical and mental health, especially as caregivers and seniors in stressful circumstances. Instead of receiving help and understanding, we were treated with suspicion and hostility. Leslie’s behavior was not only unprofessional but made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against—particularly as Asian, senior, non-English speaking members.
It is extremely upsetting to feel singled out and mistreated in a place that used to feel like a supportive community. Leslie has never greeted us or made us feel valued. Today’s experience has left us feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and deeply hurt.
I ask that this incident be taken seriously and investigated appropriately. No member—especially a vulnerable senior—should be treated this way. We expect respectful, fair, and compassionate service from your staff.

Worst gym experience ever. If the machine isn’t broken, it’s barely functioning. Try using a machine think again no pin to actually use it, try going to the bathroom think again. Been a member for over a decade but I had to gave up after this month. The facility is not up-to-date and not well maintained. All of the pins had been removed and it was such a hassle to have to ask for one every time. In all honesty, 24-hr business model is a failing one. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be said. I recently witnessed a woman at the gym repeatedly harassing the assistant manager Louis and even some of the other staff. She was following him around, creating unnecessary conflict, and making the entire environment uncomfortable for everyone around her.
What stood out to me the most was how professionally the assistant manager handled it. He stayed calm, respectful, and composed the entire time, even when she was clearly trying to provoke him. It takes a lot of patience and character to deal with that kind of behavior the way he did.
The rest of the staff also did a great job staying supportive and keeping the gym a positive space. You can tell they all care about the members and maintaining a respectful environment.
That said, I don’t think people who bring that kind of negativity and harassment into the gym should be allowed to keep coming back. It’s unfair to both the staff and the other members who just want a safe, comfortable place to work out.

I speak only on the pool/jacuzzi/locker rooms experience.
The pool appears gross. It's stained brown. Water could be cleaner. The jacuzzi was nice temp-wise but couldn't stay in for more than 5 minutes because of how crusty it felt all over. Really makes me wonder when was last time the pools were drained, cleaned, recoated. Jacuzzi gonna need some cemet work.
The layout of the gym itself is strange. It's 2 floors, the pool is downstairs and the locker rooms are upstairs. From the inside of the Womens lockers and from the pool area, You can't actually see which doors connect to each other (because theres no signage, just "Exit" signs), makes you assume you have to walk through 2 floors in your swimsuit to get to the pool.
Definitely tell the gym itself is older. It's got OG metal lockers, which isn't an issue if 90% of the lockers weren't rusty.
Curtain showers but were Hella gross ngl. Three of them had pooling drains (which defeats the purpose of the drain...), the cleanest one didn't have a shower head, the second cleanest one screams at you when you turn on the water, one of them straight up had flies in it... this is the first time I choose not to shower at a 24 hour. Bathrooms weren't too bad.
Biggest pro I saw was that their genuinely weren't alot of people there, lap lanes were always open.

I recently canceled my membership at 24 Hour Fitness after noticing a steady decline in the quality and management of the facility. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the good reviews are fake. The managers don’t seem to care—they say they’ll fix things, but nothing ever gets done. Over the course of my membership, the location I attended went through two different managers. Unfortunately, both seemed disengaged, with the first manager showing very little initiative in maintaining the facility. For example, I once encountered a leaking water fountain next to the squat racks that had caused a large puddle—a clear safety hazard. I had to inform the manager myself and suggest placing a "wet floor" sign to prevent injuries and potential liability.
There were also persistent equipment issues. Many machines were missing weight pins, and in order to use them, members were asked to hand over personal items as an exchange/hold. I’m unsure if that’s even a legal or appropriate policy, but it felt unprofessional and inconvenient, especially considering the monthly membership cost exceeding $30. When I refused to follow this practice, front desk staff responded with poor attitudes and a lack of basic customer service.
While the second manager initially seemed committed to improving the facility—offering a temporary discount on my membership—the conditions never actually improved. Machines remained out of order, and weight pins were still missing, sometimes requiring waits of 30 minutes to be able to use a pin. Who has time for that?
I also noticed that overall cleanliness and supply restocking (e.g., paper towels and sanitizing spray) only happened consistently when the manager was on-site. On days he wasn’t, I often had to walk around the entire gym looking for stocked dispensers.
Another concerning issue was seeing staff members vaping or using wax pens right outside the entrance, sometimes with the doors open—creating an unprofessional and unhealthy atmosphere for members entering the gym. The staff clearly don’t enjoy their jobs—no smiles, no genuine “welcome in,” just a tired and annoyed vibe.
The last straw came when I was told I would need to wait again for a pin. Frustrated, I canceled my membership. When I voiced my concerns to the front desk staff, the manager, who was standing right behind the counter, offered no real solutions and simply suggested I try another location. This felt dismissive, especially since this was the most convenient location for me. This to me as horrible customer service.
To make matters worse, even the other locations (like Eastridge) suffer from similar issues: broken machines, limited equipment availability, and no facility maintenance.
Overall, I believe this gym—at least the locations I’ve visited—suffers from poor leadership, inadequate maintenance, and unmotivated staff. If 24 Hour Fitness is to regain the trust of its members, serious investments in management, staffing, and equipment are needed.

I had a very upsetting experience at the 24 Hour Fitness on Capital Expressway in San Jose on May 7th around 6:00 PM. I was there to accompany my minor son with medical needs to his paid private training session, which we’ve regularly attended. I am not a gym member, nor do I use the facility — I’m simply there to escort my child.
Despite this, I was stopped at the front desk by Louis, the Assistant Manager, who was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He told me I could not enter without a membership, even though we were clearly informed during sign-up that a parent or guardian could accompany a minor. When I explained this, he continued to speak disrespectfully and told me to leave or he would call the police.
This experience was deeply distressing and humiliating. As a parent simply supporting my son’s health and therapy, I was made to feel unwelcome and mistreated. For a facility that offers paid private training, I expected far more respect and clarity in communication.
I hope corporate takes this issue seriously and reviews how staff at this location interact with clients and families.

Hi everyone,
As usual, I went to the gym. That day, I brought my son to try swimming to see if he liked it. There, I met a guy named Kyle who introduced me to a program called the Coach Trainer Package. If you already have a membership, you only pay an extra $108. With this, you can bring two people to the gym with you. It’s an unbelievably low fee. I was quite busy that day and couldn’t sign up right away. But Kyle was very patient, and in the end, I got a small package for two family members at a super affordable price. After this one-time payment for the two members, you don’t have to pay anything more in the following years. It’s amazing!

Staff is unhelpful. Machines are constantly broken not serviced. The people at the desk for midday shifts are lazy on their personal phones wasting time. Rude remarks to non English speakers. Psa you pay for membership AND YOU have to pay to use the machines because they do NOT have pins for their machines. They have lazy borrowing system that allows people to steal them and take them home leaving people to wait long queues for some to get returned. I’ve waited hours for a single pin to be returned. AND guess what? It doesn’t even fit the machine. Lazy staff managed by lazy unenthusiastic people.
