Been going to this gym for 1 year have had a good experience up until Nov 29th 2025 Sunday 4pm. Early that morning recieved an email that my annual renewal didnt go through and to call. I called about an hour after that email came into my inbox. I called the San Juan location made sure I made the full payment of $299.99. She said that included annual fee and that since I paid the same day ypu will NOT have to pay any late fee. Money was taken out of my account and I received an email receipt that my membership has been paid in full for a year.

At around 4pm Sunday ready to go work out. I am a single female and when I was walking in I noticed a guy been standing at the checkin fingerprint thing where you put your number in.

There was no one behind the counter and he was like frantically punching numbers in or not sure exactly. But i just figured it was taking a long time for him to get his number in there.

I wait behind him for a while and something just seemed odd that he was still blocking the fingerprint tbing to get in and I wait still . He is a young man in his mid 20s with broad shoulders and dark brown hair about 5'7 to 5'8" in height. Still like punching numbers in which shouldnt take more than 1 min or 2 min at most. Usually takes 10 sec.

So I take a step forward so he could see there was another person wanting to key in the fingerprint thingy.

So i step forward He right away looks at me and starts eitger calling me his friend or talking to me about his friends.

He starts to tell me he needs to check my profile as I was punching my number in .

Saying my friend, my friend, my friend . I have never met this person in my life and I have been there for a year and everyone had always been normal and sometimes friendly.

So he works there and pulls my profile up and says ya there is a problem with your account and you owe us $60.00.

He shows me the screen and says see. And i look at all its says is Invaled number.

I began to rell him about the person i spoke with on the phone this morning said that I paid everything was included. But he interupted and didnt want to listen oe hear me.

He interuprs and then says you have to pay $60 and again I say does it show that I made a payment of $299 this moening and he looks and says yes.

I said i recieved an email and i paid and again he interupts mw about doesnt want to hear or listen or help figure out what the issue is.

He was rude and disrespectful then lied to me about being the only Manager that I can speak with and I had to speak only to him.

So i said i would like to cancel my membership. He said you can cancel it but we are not giving you your money back.

I said You are denying me service so you cant take my money that i paid a membetdhip of $300 if you do not attend to allow me a servive of membership.

Another gal came and said wgats the problem we dont have to serve you.

I said thats fine but you cant take my money then . Id like my membership of $299 to ve returned and I want to cancel my membership . And I said I want to make a formal complaint about how rude and disrespectful this employee has been. She starts to listen to my story and the guy again comes back and starts to interupt when im speaking with her. I say I am speaking with this lady can you please not interupt as i am talking with her and she is listening.

He again interupts and says Anything you say to her has to go through me I am the GM.

I say thats fine you can listen but I am having a converdation with her I aske if you let me speak without interupting.

Then the lady says that she is a manager as well.

Then the guy leaves and starts punching away on the computer.

And acting like he is all of sudden so busy and doesnt have the time.

I told the femake general manager Id like to cancel ny membership, id like my money returned and Id like to make a formal complaint.

She said give me your name and phone number Even though they had my profile up and they are typing away in it and it has my name and number right there on the screen .

Chronically busy. Even at 2:00 PM on a Wednesday. Never enough machines. Only one pec fly machine and one bicep cable machine. Smelly showers. No built-in-lock lockers in locker room. Way too many cardio machines. Too much empty space near rope pulleys and northeast wall upstairs. I only come to this location for convenience driving north. I would never come for a more comprehensive workout. Too many negatives.

After the Ocean Ranch location closed, I had many options as a successful entrepreneur. The previous facility was run by Jean-Luc, and based upon my experience, it’s not the facility, it’s who runs the facility that matters. I discovered Jean-Luc had been transferred to the San Juan location. Based upon that, I decided to give it a try before hopping to another high-end fitness club. I’m happy to share that this facility is ran outstandingly like Ocean Ranch was. It’s clean and the staff is gracious and accommodating. Obviously this due to superb management, i.e., Jean-Luc. Therefore, I highly recommend the San Juan 24 Fitness.

My personal experience with this 24 fitness has been nothing but great! The staff is awesome, especially Jean-Luc, who always goes out of his way to be welcoming and helpful. If you ever need anything, he’s the guy to go to! The equipment is great and the overall cleanliness is good too. It’s an easy location off the freeway and I love that it has a pool! I am a regular at the SJC club. I enjoy the pool/spa and the classes, especially Zumba with Marc and Ailyn. I do have an issue with the overall cleanliness of the club. The women’s showers always have hair in the drains which is disgusting and the speed dryer to dry your swimsuit has been broken for months. I went in to the room where classes are held on Sunday morning at 7am of a 3- day weekend and the floors were filled with hair and dirt. I was hoping that the cleaning crew would come in during the nights and you could expect a clean club in the mornings, but that’s not the case. This is my home gym- go here 4-5/wk. staff is super friendly. Facility in whole is pretty clean. I think they’ve upped their game w restroom cleaning. Machines are really worn and some don’t work smoothly- especially cardio machines. Super friendly staff! The upstairs drinking fountain has been broken or barely functioning for over a year. That is the only one upstairs, so it’s pretty lame. It’s pretty grimy. There is one nice one which is cleaner and works downstairs. I hoped after I saw the big spike in membership sign ups in January that they would fix the gym up, but nope. If you have the extra time, drive south to San Clemente’s 24!

I have been coming to this gym for over 5 years and let me tell you. Out of all the 24 Hr fitness gyms in the area I would say that 24 hr San Juan is possibly one of the best gyms in the area. The gym is clean you can even see the employees actually go around and pick up trash and make sure everything is restocked and put back where it belongs, which is nice to see. Not only are all the employees here amazing but one in specific really stood above the rest and i would like to come on here and give her some special recognition, the SSA josie was an absolute doll to work with. Not only was she super knowledgeable with all the prices but her patience is an absolute god sent, I know I can ask a million and one questions but without skipping a beat she was able to answer the questions with confidence and a smile on her face which made me feel more at ease. She took her time showing me around the gym and even helped me get set up to meet with a personal trainer. If you are ever considering to sign up here i encourage anyone to make sure you meet with josie as she's the lady to go see.Thank you again Josie!

Personal trainer Ezra is knowledgeable, qualified and personable. He takes time to focus on his clients needs, while ensuring a full and effective session. This is my favorite 24 Hour Fitness location in the area. Shoutout to Doug for 5 am openings, he’s the best.
Cardio & weights are on separate floors which helps diversify the traffic. Machines are rarely out of order. The sauna & steam rooms are co-ed & clean. Hands down my favorite gym & feels like home.

Not great. At this location. The staff is nice, but the gym is insanely crowded. No matter when you go. From the use it’s just pretty dirty all the time. I mean, even in the middle of the day it’s hard to use anything.

I had a terrible experience with this 24-hour gym. I signed up for a 3-day free pass, and both times I went in, the attendants tried to charge me for a membership, even though I clearly explained I was supposed to get a free trial. I came back today to use the pass, and they acted like I never set it up and completely blocked my access. It’s becoming clear that this gym is running a scam, trying to take money from people and going back on their advertised offers. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a straightforward or honest experience.

I was there first time few days ago with my wife with 3 day pass. Told first young lady who work there that we may move down this way so we like to check it out. We both are member at 24 hour fitness but my membership is only for Santa Monica location. Anyhow some short young supervise lady come out saying I had to be local to try out & didn’t let me in to tryout.
We both are away from palisades fires & stressed. It would’ve been cool like other places workout try. To me it is just bad business hire someone like that hope she felt very powerful to rejected me to tryout your gym for 1/2 hour.

As an everyday user of this gym for 2 years, I can speak to both the pros and cons to consider when choosing this gym.

Pros:
1) Staff is friendly and welcoming (shoutout former sales rep Jared!)
2) Equipment is decent (more on this later)
3) Equipment downtime is typically less than 2 weeks when broken
4) Decent gym equittuque from other members
5) Free pool, hot tub, classes if you’re into that
6) Bike parking and bike bath access
7) Big beautiful windows (If the staff decide to open them instead of keeping it a dark garage for zero reason)

Cons:
1) Busy. 1200-1400 members daily. Don’t expect to get the exact equipment you want BECUASE…
2) Huge imbalance of purchased machines. a measly 4 cable machines that are ALWAYS full versus a whole floor of empty cardio equipment.

I hate that gyms prioritize cardio and neglect their bread and butter users: strength trainers.
3) men’s bathroom cleanliness varies widely
4) NOT OPEN 24 hours. Close at 11.
5) Refusal to repair or service water fountains. The main water dispenser for upstairs has been broken for literal months. The water also clearly has not been filtered properly. Pretty unacceptable for a gym where everyone needs water.
6) Fox News and other brainrot TV constantly playing. Better to have nothing

Overall I’d recommend considering other gyms if they are equally convenient. The main advantage of this gym is the location.

My advice to management is take pride in your gym and service it properly, get hard data on which machines are actually being used. Order more of those, and get rid of all the useless empty cardio equipment that at max reaches 30% use. Your staff on the other hand is always top notch and I’ve seen them deal with even tough situations with skill and care.

Hey, great gym nice place to train and to go swimming at. Although there are some things that I would like to see improved in the future. A lot of the bathroom doors are broken down as well as other things to. The shower areas don’t look like they are cleaned regularly since there are sometimes cotton swabs on the floor and other stuff. I think the bathroom should be repaired and fixed up and the locker rooms cleaned more regularly. Anyways great gym keep improving and keep doing well!

This could be a great gym, if they cleaned. It is soo dirty. I saw used paper towels on a stair master machine for a week. No one cleaned it up. Please clean! I see people who work at gym reading books, texting. Put the phone and book down and pick up some trash! Please just hire someone to clean. 24 hour fitness is a huge corporation, but have no staff to clean this large facility.

Coming from a CrossFit background I was nervous about a big Gym vibe, I met with Ben the manager and was blown away by the community and friendly demeanor of everyone, including members. I signed up for Modus a add on circuit training small class with a coach and couldn’t be happier. The coaches and people in class are so supportive and fun to be around. I wish I had found 24hr sooner! The facility itself is clean and inviting. 5 Star for me

24 Hour Fitness, San Clemente, has dropped its most popular instructor-led class entirely from its site, BODY PUMP, effective June 1 even though it's attendance is always 100% full and members have been begging to have it offered more often to meet the demand. No other 24 Hour Fitness sites have dropped or reduced its frequency or schedule. Why is this? Is management completely out of touch with what their members want and need? Is management planning to close this site with its amazing location or is the company experiencing financial belt tightening and just trying to find ways to cut costs in order to stay afloat? As a long time member, I as well as everyone else who takes this class are extremely displeased with this recent change and we are sadly considering dropping our memberships and finding another gym that will take care of our needs even though we'd prefer to stay where we are.

Great location and friendly staff. People do sit on machines way to long as they get lost texting or playing on their phones. I would recommend signage staying just that, no cell phone texting while sitting on machines, you take way longer tying up that machine than you would if you stayed focused on your workout. I never have to worry about finding an open machine here. The weight room can get very busy though. The girl’s locker room is always really gross. That’s my biggest complaint. The staff is friendly and helpful though. Just need a better cleaning regimen. There always seems to be used paper towels in the machines on the first floor as well.
