DO NOT DO A 10 DOLLAR DEPOSIT HERE
they scammed me, told me verbally that it isnβt a commitment, BUT IT IS. I ended up wanting to do a single club membership, had to upgrade the committed one.
Despicable. Iβve performed better service at a jack in the box.
I donβt normally do reviews like this, but I need people to pay attention to this. I will be calling corporate.

Everyone who works there are nice and the manager Chris is great! He is humble and helped me get a membership. I love going there to work out!

Used to go all the time. Then they told me they are doubling the membership fee since the economy got better.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was reluctant to go back and try this gym again. I had gone here a few years back hen it was originally 24 Hour Fitness, but stopped going when it became something else (B-Fit?). I started going to the 24 hour in Vista off Sycamore.
I never really liked that gym, but it was the only 24 hour close to me that wasn't a Super Sport. Anyway, I figured I would stop in to the San Marcos location to check out the newly renovated gym, and I was shocked to see how nice it was. Definitely NOT what other negative reviews have stated. I went at noon on a Monday, and there was hardly anybody there, so it was nice to feel like I could work out on anything I wanted without waiting. All of the equipment is practically brand new and is in excellent working condition. I believe all of the equipment (cardio machines, strength machines, and most of the free weights) are all Star Trac. I counted 20 treadmills, only 2 of which were being used at the time, one by me. Lots of ellipticals, standard bikes, recumbent bikes, and stairs.
The gym is much bigger than I remembered it from when it was originally 24 hour fitness, before it changed. Now that it's back to 24, they have cleaned it up, and brought in all brand new equipment. I asked the receptionist when they converted to all new equipment, and she said it was about 3 months ago, so that would be about March 2019. The locker rooms (at least the Men's) were the only thing that had not been renovated and could use some new lockers, fixtures, etc. But, that's the least of my concerns. I could also use a few more TVs in the cardio room. There were only a few scattered around, and didn't have anything I wanted to watch. Not a big deal for me, but I can imagine that some people might fight over what's on the TVs with there only being a handful available and so much cardio equipment to use. So, for anyone who was disappointed when the gym converted back to a 24 hour, try it again and see if you are happy now. They have done a great job with it!

Just not the right place for me. To many rude people with overly high opinion of their body. Very uncomfortable setting.

There's few times in life where the phrase "fails in every conceivable way" actually applies to a gym as well funded and illustrious as 24, but it truly does. Since they bought out the previous gym, BFit Edge, virtually every part of the experience has worsened.
1.) No new equipment has been added. Zero. And no, mangled dumb bells stolen from the excess scrap heap that look like a dog has chewed on them don't count.
2.) My wife and I have been over billed three times. Guess how long 24 has been in business then? 3 billing periods.
3.) All the extra classes we originally could take (Zumba, Pilates, boot camp) we have to pay extra for.
4. They ripped the drinking fountain out of the wall that had a filter and reverse osmosis and all that good stuff to install two regular fountains. The taste is noticeably worse.
5.) Some dance classes they have are so loud you can hear them from the cardio equipment room 150' feet away. Having a degree in audio engineering, anything above 100 decibels causes permanent hearing damage after even 40 minutes. It's absurd and pisses everyone else off who can't even hear music through their ear buds if you're within twenty feet.
6.) New staff rarely if ever knows their own pricing, class availability, product line, almost anything of value.
7.) The only real difference is the 24 brand now being plastered all over the place.
All in all, an enormous downgrade. I can't think of a single positive that's been achieved since the buy out. Anyone reading this, you're better off going to Crunch it's cheaper, better organized, better run, and all around more polished. My wife and I will be leaving shortly. 24, get it together and fire whomever thought it was a great idea to buy out BFit and change absolutely nothing for the better.

I visited this location for the first time a few days ago. Either itβs new, or they got a recent remodel. All the cardio equipment is super new and spiffy. (Love the treadmills with fans built in!) Customer service there is friendlier than usual.

B Fit owned by 24 hr fitness inhabited this space. Now changed name to 24 hr fitness. I receive quarterly membership reimbursement through work. When tried to get record of my workouts they said do not have record for bfit. Asked me to follow up with corporate office. Is that good customer service? I didnβt change gyms. Why shouldnβt they follow up on this? Chris seemed pleased they didnβt have to do anything. Previous management would have reached out to obtain this information. I mean bfit was owned by 24 hr fitness.

Rude staff. I called to get information about joining and asked what the fees were. The girl couldn't answer my question, got frustrated and transferred me. The call got disconnected. Horrible customer service for someone wanting to spend their money at their business. The owners need to hire and train more helpful staff.

Nice little neighborhood workout spot. Not the newest, but it's clean and the machines you want are usually open. No complaints for the money.

Never ever been to a gym that smells this bad. I wipe down my machines and I don't think it's the people. Equipment is good.

I enjoy this gym because it has all the necessary equipment and is not crowded. The one caveat is one of the trainers is disgusting. He is the trainer with dark hair; I believe his name is Steve or Steven. I witnessed him walking out of the bathroom stall after defecating and bypassing the sink to wash his hands. Yes, he may have used sanitizing gel but he shouldn't rely on gel alone. He may have particles of stuff stuck on his hands that only soap and water can get off.
If he is your trainer don't let him touch you and wipe down all the equipment he touched.

I've been using this 24 Hour since I have moved to San Marcos. I used to use the Palomar location in Carlsbad.
The staff is friendly, I have only once come in and had a person in the front not acknowledge me but that was a long time ago and have been 20 times since and not experienced something similar.
I recently starting using a personal trainer here, the guy is friendly and doesn't do that screaming garbage if I am having trouble lifting something.
The machines are old and some of the weights tend to stick, which takes a star off. For how old the machines are they are in good condition, however that doesn't take away from the fact that the machines are ancient.
Overall it's a good place.
