I started teaching in 2005 at a big box gym and worked my way up to being a top trainer. Unfortunately, there was a culture of salesmanship and the "bottom line" and that just didn't fit with the whole premise of being healthy. I had a much deeper, more holistic, and more functional approach to health and fitness. I felt that making mind, body, and spirit part of fitness was necessary! I created 3Fit in 2006 out of a need for more functional movement patterns and a holistic approach not found in many gyms. After opening a studio in 2010 my client base quickly grew and I decided to hire trainers. I believed that having a well rounded team with a diverse background would only further improve the benefits my clients received.

The people at the company are rude, condescending, and refuse to accommodate you with anything. Sizes are absurd. The medium fits like a small from any other brand and all three sizes didn't fit. Then, they charge you to try on other sizes. If you have any kind of muscle in your chest it will be skin tight. So basically it cost me $10 to find out that their product and their service are garbage.

I had the best experience with trainer Gwen at 3Fit! She is so kind and considerate and really tailored each workout to my specific needs at the moment. Very knowledgeable in how the body works and what areas need work for strengthening and stretching. The gym is quaint and has everything you need for a great workout. Gwen is also very creative in her approach, always thinking of interesting and fun ways for you to really enjoy working out. I highly recommend this place!

I've been training with Matt in 3Fit for a year now and I can confidently say that he is an excellent fitness trainer. He is very professional and always keeps track of my vitals to ensure that I am making progress every time I go to the gym. He is also very friendly and makes me feel comfortable during our sessions.

I highly recommend this gym, full body HIIT classes with Matt are really comprehensive, he is very friendly, knowledgeable and structured. Every trainer has a different style and Strength HIIT by Marcel is also really good if you want to focus on Strength. I would also recommend Aaron! Hia classes are some of the challenging ones.

3Fit is an excellent private studio for personal training. There are group classes but I have not attended any so cannot comment on them. I have trained with most of the trainers at one time or another (when Marcel, my trainer, was away) and they are excellent. They work with each client on a personal basis, keeping notes of our progress and any issues to avoid or areas to improve.
I am over 65 and my focus is on general well being. The sessions focus on not only maintaining but improving my balance, joint mobility, muscle strength and keeping my bones strong with weight bearing exercises. If I have injured myself the trainer helps me recover faster with special movements and avoiding overuse. Keeping our bodies strong and as flexible as possible is so important as we age.
If you are serious about your health and physical well being check out 3Fit and a regular routine of personal training. Great use of your time and money, and the best gift you can give yourself.

I've worked with Matt coming up on a year now, and the transformation has been unbelievable. I have really enjoyed working with Matt at 3FIT as my personal trainer over the last year and a half. I joined 3FIT after taking an intro call with Marcel, and his gym stood out to me because he places a large emphasis on all of the trainers to work with clients of all fitness levels on setting realistic, achievable fitness goals.
As a long distance runner, I was looking for help working on both my endurance and strength levels, so it was important for me to have a flexible training plan that would help me improve in both areas. Matt has done a great job planning each session, tracking my improvements over time, and adjusting to my energy levels when I need a lower intensity day. I go to 3FIT two mornings a week, but when a last minute meeting appears on my schedule Matt has been gracious about rescheduling to keep me on track with my fitness goals.
I would recommend personal training at 3FIT with any of the coaches, especially if you're looking for a more boutique approach to training that takes your current strengths and weaknesses into consideration. One more thing I should mention - if you join you'll see a lot of Nala and Brodie, the two gym dogs that tend to hang out by the squat racks in the front.

Love 3fit gym and my trainer Matt! The gym is clean and modern, but it's the community and trainers that make it special. Matt's workouts are challenging and fun (yes, really!) and he's super motivating. I've seen real results and feel supported by the 3fit crew. They're like a fitness family - always pushing you to be your best self.

One of the best thing I've found this year is 3FIT!
I've been going to the Zombie survival training group classes for a few months. The class is so fun and makes me so motivated to do the hard work. The exercise is also different from the other HIIT classes you would find. It includes strength, cardio, balance, collaboration and so much more. This is just so much more than I would expect from a group exercising classes!

The craziest thing about training with Matt at 3Fit is that I've gone from someone who thought being out of shape was a core part of my personality to someone who enjoys working out and is excited to get stronger every week I go in for training.
I initially started working out purely for the aesthetic reason of wanting to look better, and not only have I been super happy with my aesthetic progress, in the past few years, Matt has helped me feel so proud of how strong I've become too!

Coming from a CrossFit background, 3 fit was not at all what I expected it to be, but in the best way possible. I was only in the area for a few weeks visiting family, and 3fit was close by. I enjoyed the morning classes so much that I attended every morning class that they offered for the entire duration of my stay.
With a focus on joint health as well as strength building, everyday was a little different, challenging and very rewarding.
And a special shout out to the Saturday “Zombie Apocalypse” classes. I found myself doing things I hadn’t don’t since I was a kid. They were always fun, different and surprisingly challenging.
I feel like anyone, of any fitness level, could hop into a class at 3fit and find something to enjoy.

I have been training with Matt at 3Fit for about a year. I came in with a goal of improving my upper body strength, and Matt did a great job on helping me to reach my goal.
Matt is very supportive and encouraging for the whole time. He is also very knowledgeable on science of strength training. I have been training at 3Fit with Matt twice a week for the past 8 months, and the experience has been awesome. I have been to other gyms in the past, but I struggled to keep my motivation and focus due to the lack of support. However, this has never been the case at 3Fit.
From the first day, I felt welcomed and a part of the community 3Fit has. Matt is very knowledgeable, super supportive and always pushes me to improve. I have seen great progress in both my strength and weight loss over the time we have been training together. It's been over 3 years since I started fitness journey with Holly, Marcel and now Matt G.
I can't begin to explain the positive impact that has come out of coaching with 3FIT. It is simply not the physical training, but also a complete overhaul of thinking process about how fitness is not a goal but rather a lifestyle.
I have taken 1:1 personal coaching and group sessions and absolutely love both. I don't think so I will ever go back to any other gym. Every class, every session, there is something new and different that I learn about my muscles/body and it has helped me grow in all aspects.
A few accomplishments that I was able to achieve working with our 3Fit trainers - Completed Half dome without a scratch, started running without knee or back pains, my husband's cholesterol has come down about 80% to what it was and the list is endless!
A twist to mundane crossfit and if you are someone who values consistency, having a great laugh while doing a million burpees and friendly staff, 3fit is the place.

I have been training with Matt for about almost a year. It's been an amazing journey with my trainer(Matt) and the trainers are super supportive and makes me feel so comforty at the gym.(Don't be shy! They are so nice.) Not only for emotional support, my trainer always prepares well for my session and does his best effort (yeah. I did multiple 1:1 training in diff gym so I know what they are doing). He always makes notes and keeps track of my workout history. Based on his notes, he increases the weight, or changes some workout. The greatest thing was he always checked my body status carefully and kept watching how I'm doing positioning and correcting me in the right position for maximizing the workout effort but also it helps you to protect any injuries. If you have any questions about your trainer's workout routine, you can ask it right away and he will explain to you right away why this workout is needed.

This is gonna be a long one, but it's because there are so many good things to say about Marcel and 3FIT. I originally started 3FIT back in 2014 after trying a few group classes in the area. If you haven't guessed it, 3FIT stuck while the others didn't. You can get a good workout anywhere - what you can't get anywhere are trainers who are passionate about their trade AND care about you and your goals. I attended group classes 2-3 weekly for over a year, and then switched to private training with my partner to get us wedding ready. We would not have stopped going to 3FIT, but we moved out of state. Hence, update...
After gaining some of my weight back and falling off the shape wagon, I started a small home gym and got back to my routines. Here's another reason why 3FIT is the best - they don't just tell you what to do, they TEACH you what to do so that you can work on your own too. Fitness to Marcel and 3FIT isn't just a "come to the gym, give us your money and we will make it sweat," it is a way of life that translates to everything you do. Anyway, I got back in shape but eventually hit a plateau - I wasn't seeing progress in my weight training, nor was I moving closer to my goal of getting toner. So, I reached out to Marcel for some guidance, and of course, he was game because he's the absolute best. I've been working with Marcel long-distance for about 2 months now, and I have already seen huge improvements in my mobility, strength, endurance and overall body composition. He is always so helpful with my odd questions or weird descriptions of muscle groups, and it just amazes me that 1, he can do this all long distance, and 2, that he cares so much about his work that he has been willing to help me reach my goals, even when I'm not there in the gym. Guys, Marcel is the REAL DEAL - I seriously can't recommend this gym enough!!

It’s been a full week since I severely sprained my ankle from landing poorly and putting all of my weight onto my right ankle. I thought I broke my ankle, it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Initially, I thought it was a small ankle roll, but had to sit out for the rest of class.
In Feb, I moved away from 24 Hour Fitness during the New Years resolutioners crowds and discovered 3Fit. I kept coming back because I really liked the instructor and could tell that Marcel really cares about his clients and his people. He ensures that everyone is with proper form, properly challenging themselves, encourages technique over macho ego, and really stresses the importance of listening to your body. I know what it’s like to “push for that last rep,” ultimately compromising form (which you should never ever do) and setting me back a little to re-evaluate. I learned more about fitness and can take these lessons and apply them to my own lifting regimens. Marcel has great fitness philosophies and is a fun trainer to be around.
Marcel reached out to me to check in with the sprain, even in the middle of the week when I didn’t give updates other than the initial ones about needing to RICE and take it easy. Most rehabilitation from injuries tend to put people back to the state they were in pre-injury, susceptible to another injury. Marcel emphasized the importance of recovering better than before to prevent that. I am very amazed and can’t express enough how supportive and caring he is, he definitely cares about his job and duties. Marcel probably doesn’t even see it a job since it’s something he is very passionate about (talk about a millennial’s dreams to never have to work a day in your life because you have the job that you care and are passionate about). Marcel really goes the “extra mile” in extending his care and concern for others. I am excited for my ankle’s recovery, but will be taking it slow, and listening to my body so that I can come back stronger than ever before.
If you’re into fitness classes, or want a great personal trainer, I highly recommend 3Fit and Marcel! 🤩💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

3 Fit is a great place to get in shape. I've been going there off and on for over 2 years and it has completely transformed my body and my life. Probably the most important aspect to Marcel's training is the way he teaches you correct form and explains what each move/exercise is doing for you. With his guidance, I have continued to workout at home and to make progress.
Saturday group classes are great. The facilities and environment are great. Highly recommend.

Been going to 3FIT for more than 1.5 years now and couldn't be happier. I've worked with CJ and Vincent (and tips/tricks every now and then from Marcel on form and mobility). All of them are fabulous and keeps me coming back.
Pros -
1. Fitness assessment at the beginning to help you understand progress and goals.
2. Focus on correct form. A lot of time is spent teaching correct exercise form before we even start going heavy on weights.
3. Immense variety in workouts. You'll never be bored.
4. Workout tracking. I have details on sets/reps of each workout since day 1 of my workouts.
5. Vincent/Marcel are superb motivators.
6. I am injury prone in my back and hurt myself every few months (lots of seating at work, bad posture, etc.) And every single time, they've modified my workouts to accommodate injury and help with recovery.
7. Unlike some other instructors I know of, Vincent is extremely accommodating. I've had to cancel our sessions in the past, due to some injury, urgent work, etc. but it has never been an issue.
Cons -
Only con is that since I've moved to Milpitas, it has become a bit of drive and traffic is pretty bad in the evening. But I can't imagine not coming here so thats a Pro :-)

3Fit is truly exceptional -- plain and simple. If you are looking for someone to train with -- LOOK NO FURTHER! I have lived all over the Bay Area and worked with trainers in Redwood City, San Francisco, and Menlo Park. The 3Fit team easily outshines the rest. Expect the highest quality training in the Bay in a fully equipped, quiet, personal setting. This was a huge plus for me, since working out in front of a bunch of other people has always made me feel a bit self conscious.
The trainers are top notch -- bringing experience, INTELLIGENCE, and kindness to the table. These are people you not only want to train with but be friends with. Do you have an injury? They will modify exercises. Are you new to the gym? Prepare to learn (and enjoy it!). Do you have extensive experience working out? Prepare to be impressed (I thought I'd seen pretty much every standard exercise out there -- wrong)! Do certain exercises scare the daylights out of you? Prepare to meet the people who will help you (without pressuring you!) overcome those fears.
I discovered 3Fit via Yelp almost exactly a year ago. After a string of horrible experiences with trainers, and a years worth of unhealthy eating and basically not working out at all, I knew something had to change. The location is a little tricky to find the first time you go, so give yourself a cushion your first session. I was very nervous at the beginning, but those feelings of trepidation quickly dissipated after a few very successful sessions. We started work in early January and by March I ran the first 5k of my life! I have had horrible ankle and back pain due to horseback riding injuries compounded by sitting in an office. Marcel and his team worked with me to deal with these injuries and form better daily routines -- helping manage my pain in and out of the gym. Not ONCE have I ever felt uncomfortable, scared, or ignored in a session. Now that I'm in law school, I look forward to each session as a time to let go, sweat, and do something completely positive for my body. No matter how hectic my schedule, I have never once thought to myself: "I should have spent that time doing something else." Every session is time well spent and I feel my body and mind are better off for it. Yours will be too!

I have been training with Marcel for about three years. I started at a time when I was injured and going stir crazy from not being able to do any physical activity especially climbing. During the initial training, he was able to work around both my injuries while still getting a good workout.
Here are the a few of the many things that I really like about Marcel:
1. He was able to figure out my personality and how to work around my quirks
2. He has asked me about my goals and catered the workout to help me meet them. As a result, I am climbing stronger.
3. He is very knowledgeable but is modest about it
4. He is not pushy but knows how to push you (not sure if it makes sense to others but it does to me :) )
5. He is a big reason that my wrist injury did not get worse even though I am on computers all the time.
In short, if you are looking for a great trainer I highly recommend 3Fit!

Marcel is the best personal trainer I've met so far. He generally starts each session with preplanned exercises, providing workarounds for any particular exercise that might cause issues for people who have had injuries and are concerned about reactivating them. He's also great at recommending alternative exercises and stretches for injury prone areas. Whenever I work out at a gym, I might be sore for maybe the next day, but from his 1 hour group sessions, I'm typically sore for 3, sometimes 4 days.

3FIT is seriously amazing. From being able to do my first-ever pull up to doing thousands of burpees at a time (maybe a small exaggeration on the burpees), I am blowing past goals I had always set for myself, but never thought I'd be able to achieve. And I am having fun doing it!
I've been training with Marcel 2 times/week for about 8 months now and could not be happier with my results thus far. In the past I have tried so many different gyms, classes, bootcamps, etc. etc., and never really saw the dramatic results I had hoped for. That changed once I started working out at 3FIT. It didn't take long for me to begin to notice a huge change -both inside and out. I feel stronger and healthier than ever before.
Each workout is super challenging and different from the last. Marcel does a fantastic job of knowing exactly how much I can handle (which is sometimes more than I *think* I can handle). He also keeps a laser focus on my form to make sure that I am doing everything exactly right.
The gym itself is great! It has everything you could ever imagine and more - rock climbing wall, giant tires, TRX, kettle bells and more. It's super convenient to get to off of Central Expressway and there's always plenty of parking available.
If you have been thinking about giving personal training a try (or even trying out a boot camp), look no further than 3FIT. I cannot recommend this place enough. It will be one of the best decisions you make. It sure was for me!

I have been working with Marcel as my personal trainer for over 9 years! Let's just say I am of a certain age that qualifies me for senior discounts, and that when I retired from my high-tech desk job, I promised myself I'd finally start devoting some time and energy to my physical health. I joined one of the big box gyms-that-will-not-be-named, and the new membership came with some 'free' personal training. I didn't really want it (joined for the group exercise classes), but after one session of working with the trainer (lo and behold, it was Marcel!), I was hooked. He made the work challenging but fun, and always made sure to take my age and health factors (AKA arthritis) into consideration. Over the years since then, he has not only left the big box gym factory behind to open his own gym, but has developed some in-depth knowledge of kinesiology, and works hand-in-hand with my chiropractor to make sure I am doing the right kind of training for my aging, arthritic joints. As they say, getting old isn't for the faint of heart, but thankfully with Marcel's expert help, I'm going to feel young for many years to come

I joined 3fit a month ago to loss fat and get more toned. Vincent is the best trainer I have ever had. He knows exactly what we have to work on to reach my goal. He is also very knowledgable about dieting and health in general. He has answers to all of my questions about how I can adjust my diet to loss fat more efficiently. Marcel was enthusiastically recommended to me by a friend a year ago and I've been training with him ever since. I am always impressed at his depth of knowledge about the body and nutrition, and I leave workouts feeling exhausted, but totally energized in the best possible way. However, even more than his knowledge, I have a deep respect for him as a person. He is very sensitive to his clients' individual needs and knows exactly how much to challenge you, which ultimately helps you push to the next level. Yet he also knows when support, encouragement, and a listening ear is necessary as well. I've worked with him one-on-one and in group settings, and it's really apparent how much he genuinely cares about his clients and how much he enjoys helping people. As a previous review mentioned, Marcel really does live what he teaches, which makes his training and advice all the more relevant and realistic. And although he no longer does in-home training, the 3Fit gym facility is easily accessible and very well-equipped, which brings some great variety to each workout.
All-in-all, I am totally thrilled with the results I've gotten since training with Marcel! More strength and stamina equals more confidence and energy that spills over into all areas of my life.

Marcel is a tremendously knowledgable, patient, and down-to-earth trainer who has made my life so much better! I used to have chronic neck and shoulder pains from an old injury, and was tired of constantly struggling with body aches. Through my PT sessions at 3Fit, I've developed tons of strength, become much more aware of my posture, and learned really useful stretches to improve my day-to-day life. 3Fit's Bootcamps are fun and a good workout for people of all fitness levels too! The workouts are always different and you get to use a variety of equipment in very creative fashions! The facilities are also great for people who have busy work schedules (shower+lockers).
