Great gym. Very welcoming. Classes for all levels. Takes boxing and martial arts seriously - not just a "class gym." If I lived here I'd get involved in more of the boot camps and sparring. I live in New York and have been boxing for 8-9 years. Whenever I'm home in SF I make it a point to go to Third Street. I always leave feeling much, much better than when I walked in.

Third Street is an incredible boxing gym. The coaches are experienced and the classes are technical while still being approachable. They have a great program for beginners and fighters alike. The personality and community here is unmatched. I moved from the east coast and was worried I wouldn't be able to find a new boxing gym that felt like "home". Third Street exceeded my expectations and I couldn't imagine being a member anywhere else.

Dave is awesome. He is so much fun to work with. Very patient. personable and tailors coaching to my needs. A great coach and human being. The gym is phenomenal. Very well equipped and well maintained. Saturday morning in SF is beautiful. I would love to bring my kids and have them taught by Dave at this gym.

The gym is amazing! The community that has been built is welcoming and thoughtfully, created. The staff is insightful and helpful. Dani recommended me here when she heard I wanted to learn muy Thai and helped me organize my roadmap to taking the classes offered. I've started by taking the prerequisite classes and so far feel that there has been a lot of thought out into the lessons in which I can fundamentally understand everything I'm taught easily. I met Fabianna as well and am very excited to take her class in the future!

Awesome gym that is super welcoming to beginners.

I signed up for the 3-class pack with my partner, and found the instruction and culture to be very welcoming and safe. I ended up joining the gym full time for over 6-months taking the old school boxing and muay thai classes 3-days a week.

Great staff, great facility, and I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking to learn about boxing.

Came for the workouts; stayed for the community.

I felt the pandemic isolation from going to a gym and lifting weights alone, so I joined 3rd St to switch it up and learn something new alongside other humans. Thought the price was steep initially but I'm getting so much out of it 5 months in!

I hit the morning classes every day and the instructors have all been incredible: super friendly and they really take their time to give newbies feedback. The other members are equally as nice and approachable.

Hope to see you in the a.m.!

Got to meet most coaches they are great! The only hiccups is the parking situation and or the music being a bit to loud at times making me stop and haveing to ask what the next combo is.
All and all still a great experience and workout and it's been having a great impact on my lifestyle!
I rated this 5 but it's more a 4.5 due to this, but again quite literally one of the best boxing gyms in SF Israel and Paul are great guys and WILL TEACH YOU how to BOX and not just for the workout!

Beginning of this year, I found myself is at 200 lbs. Then my friend took me to this Boxing Gym to take the beginner classes.

It has been really good! I had a lot of fun this year. I took two rounds of "Bootcamp" booked through their website and "Old School Boxing" classes booked through the class pass.

Now I am at 175 lbs, basically lost my belly, and energy wise feels great. I would love to get into the "Academy Class". Unfortunately, with return to office policy (have to work in Santa Clara sometime), I couldn't make my schedule work anymore.

I highly recommend people to try their Beginner Package to see if you like it. Get into their "Bootcamp" to give yourself a healthy habit boost!!!

I went there to try out the classes after getting a Groupon and really enjoyed the classes there and would totally sign up if the communication would be better. I sent an email asking a couple of questions but never received an answer.
I also think the place is mostly catering to people who work 9-5 in the city as most classes especially the more technique focused classes are in the weekday evening so it's not suitable with people who have family duty in the evening. For the morning classes and evening classes, parking is not bad even if you have to walk a couple of blocks.

Fantastic gym and indeed the last real boxing gym in SF! The space is big and clean, really well ventilated, they have 6 am boxing bootcamps along with more boxing focused classes. The membership pricing is very reasonable and memberships are flexible.

The owner Paul is really fun and brings pretty badass energy to all his classes. The other instructors are really nice and generally solid too. There's also a good gender balance so ladies don't hesitate to check it out!

Highly recommend.

Took a class with an instructor named Israel, and it was such an exciting way to learn the fundamentals and mechanics of boxing! I'm a beginner and at no time during the class did I feel like I was lagging behind. He really made me feel at ease, and by the end, I felt like a total empowered badass. Talked with Israel after the class and learned he has a lot of experience as an amateur fighter, so I knew I was getting trained by one of the best. Awesome place and thank you Israel!!

My boys are loving the 4:30 kid classes. Great way for a teenager to let off some steam and build up strength and endurance. They aren't sparring so no risk of head trauma if that is a concern. This gym is very well run by Miranda and the team. It is friendly without being smothering, efficient and clean. The 9Round model is perfect for busy people who want a solid 30 minute workout that is more exciting than a treadmill or weights alone. Being able to come in and out without a commitment to a specific class time saves a ton of time without sacrificing a quality workout.

3rd St. Boxing is more than just a gym but an amazing community to be apart of! They have a talented group of coaches with different styles to learn from as well as classes to either work on general conditioning or technique. I've been able to work in the ring on technical sparring but also bring my girlfriend in for her first ever class, and had fun doing both! I can't recommend this place enough for anyone either curious about the sport or wanting to sharpen their skills. I would still be there today if I didn't have to move!

All around amazing experience.

Israel is a great instructor that genuinely cares about your technique and improvement - makes the beginner classes challenging yet engaging. He spent time during and outside of class to not only answer questions about boxing but also just chatting about life. Starting a new skill/hobby can be daunting but great instructors like Israel make it a smooth process.

Naomi (front desk) is great as well as she answered all of my questions (phone and in person) and even gave me a quick tour around the gym within 1 minute of meeting her. She continues to give tips and pushes me to take on more classes while being upbeat and friendly along the way.

Excited to develop relationships with the other instructors and members of 3rd Street Boxing.

I am a total beginner, and I have been taking classes at 3rd Boxing Gym for fitness and stress management. I like their no-frill boxing gym atmosphere (no Lululemon people here) and enjoy being totally and completely "a--kicked" by the end of each class. It feels sooooo good to punch a heavy bag after a long and stressful work week! All trainers here are excellent and have tons of experience in training people in all levels, and they are also patient with a beginner like me. Since COVID-19 SIP started, they have been offering web-based classes, and they just added outdoor in-person classes at Potrero Hill Rec. Center.

I found this via class pass, I tried it out and I automatically loved the vibe and teachers. I v been to another boxing studios in SF and the teachers were not as good as third street boxing. The advance classes get more fun!

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, but when I'm within 50 miles of SF, Ill make a special trip to go here. If you already know the basics, you can learn a lot of technique in an hour!

I researched and tried several boxing / martial arts gyms when I moved to SF and 3rd Street was the best by far. All the trainers are excellent but I particularly love Lenny for fundamentals and Carlos for training. Everyone on staff is responsive, kind and helpful. It's a great environment to train in.

I don't know where to begin other than to say I LOVE this gym. The programs are perfect. Trainers are knowledgeable and patient. Everyone that walks through the door is part of a community. 3rd street offers different classes that will teach you how to box and whip you into shape. If you prefer to do less bag work, they have classes that focus on cardio and strength training. If you are serious about getting into shape or learning how to box, then this place is for you.

Best workout in the Bay! Paul & his team keep the workouts fun, challenging, and are always bumping the best music. If you're looking to break a sweat without any gimmicks -- this is the spot. I've tried Crossfit, Orange Theory, and Barry's and this easily rises above them all.

3rd Street Boxing has a very talented group of trainers. Each trainer has a different style which means that you are bound to find something that meets your needs. More importantly, if you are willing to put in the work, these trainers will get you where you need to be. One aspect that I like about this specific gym is that no one is pretentious. The majority of people here are friendly, willing to help if you are a beginner, and/or respect your space and let you get your work out in. Once you start going to this gym, you start to feel like you become part of their boxing family. I did not really get the same vibes from other training facilities.

The facility itself is not very big but you have sufficient space to work out and not feel cramped. The gym has several punching bags, free weights, weight machines, boxing gloves, foam rollers, and a few cardio machines. The gym offers a wide variety of both boxing and strengthening classes. There are different levels to each class and you can take as many classes as you can if you have unlimited membership. Memberships range between $120-165 per month. The pricing may seem high compared large chain gyms but most boxing gyms in the city charge similar prices. This gym is also on class pass which may be a good option depending on your needs.

I have literally never left a review on anything. Boxing is something that was totally new to me but this ended up being the best place to start. Their beginner classes are great at showing you what the workout will be like and every teacher really brings their own style and experience. I’ve loved the classes I’ve taken and I really feel like I’m learning something new from amazing teachers. Love this place!

I am A Professional Boxer and 3x Champion. I’ve been in the sport for over 15 years and I must say that this is definitely the last Real boxing gym in the City of S.F. With WorldClass fighters to the average joes training together or working side by side with each, and I’m talking about grinding with some of the best in the Bay!

Been a repeat bootcamp customer since July 2019 (3 bootcamps now). Nothing makes me feel better the entire day! It is a pain to wake up early; but all one needs is to show up to class. The instructors are really committed to teaching you how to be good at boxing each day. Every student gets personal attention. I am now a bit addicted to it.

This gym is how all boxing gyms should be. I've been training here for a little over a year in the youth class. Mario and Alan are great teachers and I have learned a lot. The ring there is nice and the way sparring is incorporated into classes is very educational. They have very good gear there. The shirts and hoodies here are high quality and very stylish. I highly recommend coming here if you want to learn boxing or kickboxing.

Third Street Boxing Gym is hands down my favorite place for working out. In particular their boot camps. I did around 10 or so and felt the best shape in my life over the year and half or so I worked out there. I relocated for a job and miss these workouts the most! Love the people, the trainers, the vibe and definitely love Paul.

I enrolled my son in the youth boxing class and he LOVED it! When your child is eager to go back to workout, that means a great deal. They have youth boxers that facilitate the class, which is a good idea because they are able to connect on a different level with their class. My son would come out of class drenched in sweat from his workout. I had to cut his time short because his football schedule conflicted with the time of the class. It would be wonderful if there were choices in the times but, outside of that, the workers at the gym were always friendly and extremely helpful. This is a fantastic gym.

I found 3rd Street when I moved into the neighborhood and a neighbor mentioned it. After my first class I was sure I would return. What I didn’t know is that I would end up going everyday I could, sometimes twice a day. Not only because I was getting in shape but because the gym felt homey. A warm and encouraging place for anyone who needs a work out. They make it very easy to show up.

Such a welcoming and knowledgeable staff!! I attend for about a year on and off due to my work schedule, they helped get me started on losing my post babies weight. If my schedule permitted I would still be attending, the classes really get you sweating and the instructors are very helpful in helping newbies learn good form at technique. It’s definitely a boxing gym to check out, you won’t be sorry.

Highly recommended. The classes are all killer. The instructors are not only very knowledgeable and friendly, but they also take the time to correct your form, give you advise and make sure you get the most out of your workout! There's also a strong sense of community in this gym (something that's rarely found these days). Getting a membership here was a great decision.

I frequent a lot of boxing gyms in the Bay Area and this is by far one of the best. I’ve worked primarily with Alan who has helped me tremendously. Whether you are looking to train for competition or just get a great workout, this is the gym for you.
