I am 57 and I love 9 round on Spring Street. It is challenging and just when I think I can't do it, the exercise changes. Alberto is amazing. This has become my very favorite part of Mon and Wed right after work. There's nothing like it!

9Round is amazing! I have always struggled with exercising when it's not an activity. I've been doing this for almost 2 months and it is the best workout I've ever had. It's an activity that makes my brain forget I'm working out while doing it, but also engaged my brain in learning a new skill. Bernard, Daniel, and Chim have been so great and helping me learn and giving encouragement when I'm feeling weak. All around a good environment to be in.

I’m 48 and I’ve been lifting and working out since I was a teen and I’ve been a member at many gyms. This is by far the best gym I have ever belonged to and this is why I’ve stayed at 9round for the past 5 years now. They have the absolute best community here, and the trainers are outstanding! We laugh alot here but swear even more. They give you goals and will challenge you in a fun and caring way. The work out is different each day, challenging but doable and you can go at your own pace. Every round can be modified to your needs and you can go as hard or as light as you need - but the trainers will push you to do your very best! I am the best shape of my life and I feel stronger than ever because of this gym. Any new athletic challenge I try - hiking, aerial dance, trapeze, rock climbing, African dance - it all seems easier because I am so strong from my kickboxing workouts. Ashley the owner is one of the kindest people. I’m so grateful for this gym, my trainers, and my 9round friends.

My experience at 9Round so far has been nothing but an adventure. I started 9round 5 years ago. I had been looking for a gym like this for a long time. I found the Beast Street (E Spring St) and started working out. At the time I weighed 350 lbs. after some time, I got my weight down to 285. Much happier now. I just received my 1000 workout Silver gloves. Everyone here is friendly. Nothing but encouragement from all. Trainers are kick ass. Come join us here or any 9round since they are all over the country. Good luck in your endeavor.

If you're able to go in when the trainers are available, they are the best. Each one is knowledgeable and takes the time to ensure members have the proper form through each exercise. 9Round Spring St. has truly been a life changer. I can’t say enough about the impact this gym—and its trainers (Bernard, Alberto, Max, Daniel, and the rest of the team)—has had on me and my wife.
I first came in after months of walking past while my kids were at karate a few doors down. One day, I decided to give it a try. From that first week to now (three years later—and with my wife also a member), I’ve seen real changes: more energy, improved physical capability, no more back or knee pain, and just an amazing sense of accomplishment every time I walk in.
The 1-on-1 training is like having your own personal trainer each session. And if that doesn’t work for your schedule, they’ve got a flexible solo workout program guided by screens at each station—it’s easy to follow and still delivers results.
This place really has something for almost anyone who’s ready to commit to becoming a better version of themselves. Plus, you learn how to fight, which is just a bonus.
But the real heart of this gym is the trainers. They’re genuinely down-to-earth, motivating, and supportive people who push you to keep going and be your best—both in the gym and outside of it.
Thanks, 9Round Spring St., for kicking my ass and keeping me consistent with my workouts.

I started getting into kickboxing back in 2018 when I was living in NJ, and when my husband and I relocated to California (my home state) during the pandemic, I knew I wanted to find a gym/workout that allowed me to continue my passion for kickboxing.
I have been going to 9 Round for nearly 4 years now since we moved back to a California and have been going to the Spring Street location since May 2023. It is my absolute favorite workout ever.
The gym is open from 4am-10pm every day and there are designated trainer hours daily.
There are 9 rounds, intended to cover a 30 minute full body workout. The rounds are easy to follow as there is a screen with demonstrations, and when trainers are present they can also show you the movements for each round. The workouts are tough, intense, and a lot of fun. I truly enjoy that you're working out all parts of your body. Additionally, when the trainers are present, you can work on pads, which definitely gets the heart rate up and is all around a fun time. Who doesn't love to punch and kick stuff?
The gym also has really engaging events such as challenges during certain months to strengthen yourself, and they also offer personal training at an additional cost. Even though I've been going for years I can see myself getting stronger consistently.
The real gem about 9 Round Spring Street is the trainers and the sense of ease they bring while you're working on bettering yourself. They provide the perfect amount of encouragement, motivation, and they listen to your needs and ensure you are comfortable in your abilities. It's not a gym where anyone shames you for what you can or can't do. They genuinely care about you and I can honestly say a lot of them I consider friends now. It's just a wonderful and positive environment through and through.
Prices for membership are so affordable and I love that I can go at anytime during open hours, as there are no class times. If you're looking for a challenging and fun workout that always changes, I would highly recommend 9 Round.

Update: I’ve been coming here for about 5 months and I see such immense improvement in my strength and also can see more toned muscle developing on areas of my body. I have been doing 9Rounds for three years and the last 8 months at the Spring St. location. The trainers are amazing. They encourage and push on a personal level. I love 9rounds (On spring st)! I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now. I’ve lost weight, been challenged and I’m stronger both physically and mentally. It is such a great workout! The trainers are so supportive, knowledgeable and patient. The environment is like a family! At first, the thought of kickboxing may feel intimidating but the trainers and members make you feel so comfortable! The workouts make you feel great physically and mentally. Definitely a stress reliever! I really recommend 9rounds!

Coming to 9rounds for the last 2 1/2 years has made a huge difference in my physical and mental strength! Lately, I’ve been trying to reach specific goals and the trainers are helping me get there! One of my fav workout classes!! I've always seen/passed by 9Round but never stopped in. Finally had the itch one week to do the intro workout and I had so much fun! It was/is the right amount of punching, sweating and just working out all together. All the trainers are very knowledgeable and encourage me, especially when I'm struggling. I recommend anyone to AT LEAST go for the intro class! I locked myself into a 6 month membership after 3 classes and I'm very excited to continue punching my way along! 🥊

Great place to workout and the trainer’s are amazing. Apart from the great workout you get in only 30 minutes, the trainers do a great job of motivating you and helping you improve your form, so you are getting taught to punch, kick, and various combos the proper way. It’s a great quick workout and you are actually learning kickboxing.

I'll just say this right off the bat: Yes, it might be very pricey BUT OH MAN IS IT EVER WORTH IT. Let me explain: you ever go to another gym and wonder "gosh, where do I get started on my workout and what do I do?". That's never a problem here. Anytime you go in, you do an intense but rather fun half-hour workout (with the ideal goal to come in for 3 workouts/week to stay healthy, which isn't too bad if you have a busy schedule like me). Coming in here has made me realize the importance of taking care of your physical health, as without it I can't imagine myself being as successful in college or being as mentally and physically well-off as I am. The trainers can be fun too, and provide you with that you need to get the best workout possible (be prepared for corrections and harder challenges if they think you have it too easy LOL). I would say give them a try since you can work out there for your first workout and if it fits your needs like it does with mine, then you've found gold.

9Rounds is great because you have a limited number of people working out so the trainers an focus on helping you and your individual needs. The 3 minute time frame at each round makes it a workout that is achievable, though challenging. Since it is a smaller gym they only allow a minimal amount of people which makes it a safe workout and they are constantly wiping down and sanitizing. Highly recommended!
