Wendy is a great and friendly Pilates instructor. She gives clear cues and pays close attention to detail. As a newbie to Pilates, I did not feel intimidated with the experience. I will definitely be coming back.

I cant recommend this pilates spot enough.
Ive been to several pilates studio, rachael is the best instructor ever.
She is really passionate and cares about how my body can be improved by doing pilates. I had several concerns such as scoliosis, she was knowledgeable to help me out.
If you feel like you havent been to really good pilates studio, try abl studio. You will love it.

I had an amazing experience at Abl Pilates! From the moment I walked in, the studio felt warm, welcoming, and beautifully maintained — a perfect space to focus and unwind.

Rachel is hands down the best Pilates instructor I’ve ever had. Her attention to detail is incredible — she takes the time to ensure your form and alignment are just right, offering thoughtful corrections that make all the difference. Each class feels personalized, challenging, and deeply rewarding.

The quality of instruction and the overall experience make the classes absolutely worth the price. I always leave feeling stronger, more aligned, and inspired to come back. Highly recommend Abl Pilates and Rachel to anyone looking for an exceptional reformer Pilates class!

Where should I start?

Before my first session I reached out to see if socks were required. Rachel's response was that they were recommended. So obviously she wants them and I purchase a pair.

Fast forward to the time I showed up without my socks! Rachel told me I could purchase another pair which I said no to since they were not required. But obviously they are required to workout on the reformer as my workout was switched to the Cadillac.

This studio toots its horn on being a classical Pilates studio but Joseph Pilates did not require his students to wear socks!

And then there was the time my 6 year old woke up sick on the day I had a session with Rachel. While I was waiting to hear back from my mother in law to see if she could babysit , I reached out to Rachel only to find out that the session would still count even if I could not make it.

So if your looking for a studio that understands EMERGENCIES then ABL Pilates is not the one!

And let’s not forget the time she announced mid package that she is no longer teaching groups! Unprofessional to say the least!

And what really sparked me to write this review..... i show up to my scheduled session on a Wednesday at noon. Drive 30 min to get there as I live in Long Beach. Walk in and was asked by Rachel if I have an appointment. She jumps on her laptop and says I don't!

Why would I lie and just show up ? and drive 30 min??? Obviously there was a glitch with her online scheduling that she took zero accountability for.

The moral of the story …. RUN, RUN, RUN and find yourself another Pilates studio !

I started doing Pilates with Rachael in May. The first few classes were quite tiring, but over time my body began to feel more relaxed after each session. As you continue taking classes, you’ll notice steady improvement and find yourself able to do more postures.

Rachael is very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching, which makes every class motivating and enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend this place more for anyone who wants to exercise and shape their body.

Highly recommend Rachel to anyone who truly wants to practice real Pilates. She is a truly thoughtful Classical Pilates instructor who doesn’t just run through a set routine. Instead, she assesses my condition each session and adjusts the exercises to meet my body’s needs that day. While staying true to Classical Pilates, she’s highly detail-oriented and focuses on proper form and muscle engagement. I feel so lucky to have found this ABL Pilates studio! The space is super cozy and welcoming, and Rachel is such a wonderful instructor. I didn’t truly know what Pilates actually meant until I came here—Rachel breaks it down in such a clear, supportive way, and really helps you understand how to move with your body.

She takes the time to get to know your individual needs and level, so every session feels personal and encouraging. It honestly feels like you’re getting one-on-one help, especially compared to those big commercial studios where you can feel like just another face in the crowd.

What I love most is that I’m getting both my stretch and strength training at the same time—it feels so good after every session. I started with a trial class, which was a great way to see if it was the right fit before committing—and I’m so glad I did! Her equipment is always clean and well taken care of, and you can really tell she puts thought into every detail.

The studio is inside 24 Hour Fitness, right by the basketball hall. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, personalized Pilates experience that really helps you connect with your body, I can’t recommend this place enough!

I am just starting out Pilates for the first time in my life. As a postpartum mom, my body needed recovery, alignment and strengthening. I tried out with a trial class then signed up for 10 classes including 1:1 private lessons. I think it's important to meet a good instructor who has a good understanding of what is needed for each individuals especially if they're seeking not just to get a lean body but also a recovery. Rachel is great at personalized guidance; she makes sure you are doing each movement correctly and modify if needed which lessens possible injuries for beginners. I personally find large Pilates classes overwhelming. Here, the max is 3, so you get more individual attention compared to large classes.
